10. An unexpected newcomer who gets lucky

Everyone in the guild was clearly in high spirits. During the day, Dohee had logged on with Moonhyuk to distribute loot, and after Moonhyuk left for work, 4Evil and Oreckthat logged in too, finalizing the raid rewards schedule.

The truth was, Dohee was just as giddy as the others about switching from level 140 to 150 gear. Sure, the stat bump for a support might not be huge, but new gear was still new gear, and Baek Dohee was one of those people who went nuts for anything new.

Everyone probably felt the same, but with SiblingSpicyNoodle hyping things up so much, it was hard not to want to tease them. At this point, if those two weren’t bickering in guild chat, it would feel like something was missing. Dohee had gotten used to it too, apparently.

To get everyone into a full 150 set, they’d need to disassemble their 140 gear for materials, then run the Demon Hunter raid steadily for at least another month.

And even after they got the new gear, they’d need to enhance it. The enhancement material, “Shards of Chaos,” could only be exchanged for Demon Hunter clear rewards, so realistically, they were going to be farming this raid for months. Buying materials off others would cost a fortune, so there wasn’t much choice.

Still, it gave the stagnant Human guild something new to aim for.

All in all, the vibe was good. The devs had officially announced, “The first clear belongs to Human!” and everyone felt like they’d just downed a cold soda in one gulp. At least, Dohee did.

At first, the guildies had been cautious about bringing up Yapdeuk around Dohee. But now they were openly teasing and joking about it whenever they were bored. It wasn’t even surprising. That was just how Human rolled.

The guild chat was buzzing, not with alts or dailies, but with people just hanging out and gossiping. Meanwhile, Dohee sat blankly in front of their computer, wondering what Moonhyuk was up to.

When he heard the Human raid had officially been recognized as the first clear, Moonhyuk had jumped for joy.

Hearing him mumble that had made Dohee laugh out loud. Clearly, Moonhyuk had been walking on eggshells the past couple of days. It was endearing, and also a little touching.

He’d looked ridiculous clutching his blanket like that, barely able to make eye contact. He’d even almost rolled off the mattress in shock, but come on, it’s not like Dohee was going to eat him.

It was funny and kind of absurd, but Dohee didn’t say anything about it.

Moonhyuk was already over level 130, but they still doted on him like mother birds feeding a baby chick. It was hilarious.

Dohee brushed it off, saying he’d check with Moonhyuk. If he knew Dohee was going, he’d probably want to go too. He’d said the same thing before.

And after meeting Yeohoo and Yeojin this time, he even said they seemed like good people.

Dohee had snorted at that. Good people? Maybe not terrible people, but “good” was pushing it. Even if they were cousins, it still pricked the conscience a bit.

Apparently, no one in the guild had done the Demon Hunter epilogue quest. Not that Dohee expected anyone to. Honestly, Dohee had forgotten about it too. If anyone did it, it’d probably be Moonhyuk.

Since there were no real rewards, the guild collectively decided to put it off.

Instead, everyone was more hyped for the “Shadow Fragment Collection Event” that launched the same day.

The event had decent items in exchange for fragments, and the top collector would even win a prize, so some guildies got serious.

Even though they were already two days late, they figured they could make it up through grinding.

Dohee, who didn’t care about prizes from the devs, just picked at their nose.

Well… if Moonhyuk wanted to do it, Dohee wouldn’t mind tagging along.
