There’s chaos everywhere right now, so here’s a summary of the Demon Hunter First Clear controversy.

I’ve only laid out the facts.

1. Human raid group’s clear time: 12:24 a.m.

2. Xeno raid group’s clear time: 12:17 a.m.

3. The two raid groups’ clear times differ by 7 minutes.

4. Here’s where the problem starts. If you watched any of the Demon Hunter streams, you’d know the raid has 4 total phases: Phase 1 → Phase 2 → Phase 3 → a hidden phase triggered at 0 HP.

4-1. Human cleared all the way through the hidden phase properly. Up to the hidden phase, Human was ahead. Xeno was still doing the final mechanic, the prison mechanic.

4-2. Human entered the hidden phase, and shortly after that, Xeno cleared the prison mechanic.

5. ??? But for some reason, the hidden phase didn’t spawn for Xeno. That’s when chat exploded in confusion. Since Human had already entered the hidden phase, everyone watching both Yapdeuk’s and GoSupp’s streams knew a hidden phase existed, but when it didn’t appear for Xeno, viewers began to panic.

6. With no hidden phase on Xeno’s side, they ended up clearing the raid first. What’s wild is that they got all the rewards, and the clear notification even said they defeated “The Reawakened Demon Hunter.” They also received the first clear title, “One Who Overcame Hardship.” (The normal clear title is “One Who Walks in Hardship.”)

7. The majority opinion is that the hidden phase failure was a bug.

8. NGA (the developer) has not made any official statement.

9. The community is at each other’s throats. One side says if not for the bug, Human would’ve gotten the first clear; the other says Xeno didn’t even know the hidden phase existed and cleared what was in front of them, so why blame them?

Anonymous: I mean, of course it’s Human vs. Xeno again. Aren’t they famously enemies? Even the devs know it. These are the same people who kill each other on sight if they cross paths.

Anonymous: From an outsider’s view, it’s just drama. But if it were me? I’d want to burn everything to the ground.

⤷ Anonymous: No seriously, when the system announced Xeno as the first clear in GoSupp’s stream, the chat went wild. It was insane.

⤷ Anonymous: What happened?

⤷ Anonymous: GoSupp’s face went stone cold. Yeojin, Yeohoo, SiblingSpicyNoodle, and Tando were chatting in guild, but they all started cussing. Some were too stunned to speak. When they realized the bug cost them the first clear, GoSupp just kept opening and closing his mouth like a fish.

⤷ Anonymous: It was GoSupp’s return stream too… and a bug ruined it. Unbelievable.

⤷ Anonymous: His “return stream” my ass lol. I can’t stand his stans.

⤷ Anonymous: ??? LOL okay “next bitter boy~”

⤷ Anonymous: What did GoSupp ever do to you? Stop whining. The dude looks like he’s about to cry.

Anonymous: MangGA really living up to the name now. What are they gonna do…

Anonymous: GoSupp’s stream totally fell apart. He ended it in a panic and didn’t even say goodbye. I’ve watched him for years and I’ve never seen him shut down like that.

⤷ Anonymous: Right? After the clear, he looked like he was about to cry. He covered his eyes and bowed his head. It was honestly heartbreaking…

⤷ Anonymous: I know… poor Human. What did they even do wrong?

Anonymous: But it’s not like Xeno did it on purpose. No need to hate on them either…

⤷ Anonymous: True. It’s not like they wanted it to happen.

⤷ Anonymous: But man, they’re so annoying about it. If they just kept quiet, people might’ve sympathized, but they had to open their mouths and make it worse.

⤷ Anonymous: Why? What did they say? (I didn’t watch the Xeno stream.)

⤷ Anonymous: So in Yapdeuk’s stream, people were saying the missing hidden phase seemed like a bug, right? But Xeno members were like, “Well… I guess it’s just luck. Nothing we could’ve done about it~” Like they all rehearsed it. It made everyone in chat go nuts. That’s where “silence is golden” really applies.

⤷ Anonymous: Xeno’s the type to say stuff they really shouldn’t and then wonder why people hate them.

Anonymous: But if they do give the first clear to Human, that causes problems too. Xeno already got the rewards. You gonna take those back? Then what happens to them? Don’t they deserve compensation too?

⤷ Anonymous: What the hell are you saying? Why should Xeno get anything? Human was supposed to be first.

⤷ Anonymous: Yeah but taking it back after already giving it is also a bit much… I’m not siding with Xeno, but still. That’d suck.

⤷ Anonymous: Put yourself in their shoes, wouldn’t you be pissed?

Anonymous: Here’s the deal. From the dev’s perspective, this is a nightmare. Both Human and Xeno are top-tier raid groups, right? Mid-tier players don’t even spend a fraction of what these top rankers spend. These guys drop enough cash to buy a mid-size sedan. For us, it’s just drama and popcorn, but for them, first clear is a pissing contest where they pour in thousands of won, or even hundreds of thousands of won.

It’s not even about the rewards.

First clear = pride.

If they strip Xeno of the first clear title and update the monument, Xeno’s gonna feel burned. Think of how much they spent. The game should be for everyone, sure, but from the dev’s perspective, these whales are the main cash flow. If they don’t give the title to Human, they’ll lose Human. If they take it back from Xeno, they’ll lose Xeno.

They’re in full panic mode right now. It’s 3 a.m. and an emergency maintenance is about to start, but I doubt they’ll resolve it today. They’re probably losing their minds trying to figure out how to compensate both groups.

⤷ Anonymous: Yeah, exactly. The bug was the real problem to begin with.

Everyone’s arguing about whether Xeno or Human got the first clear, but putting that aside, can we just admit Human’s brainpower and gameplay were insane this time?

They handled the cooperative mechanics so cleanly. I was just sitting there going “what the hell is this…” while they mumbled to each other a few times and suddenly cleared it like it was nothing lol. It was wild.

Honestly, like 50% of the puzzle-solving seemed to be GoSupp figuring things out solo…

And that ‘hyung’ everyone’s talking about, he crushed the minigames, caught on to key clues super quickly. Didn’t people say he was a newbie? Is that true? Lol he doesn’t seem like one at all.

Yeohoo and Tando were really solid too. Everyone else pulled their weight at minimum. There’s chatter about Oreckthat dying three times in a row, but even that was decent, wasn’t it? Most of their wipes were from unseen mechanics or one-shot gimmicks. Otherwise, they didn’t have many resets. The Human group just had solid raw mechanical skill. They dodged AoE patterns like pros.

Anyway, I’d only heard rumors about the Human raid group, but after watching them this time, I was genuinely impressed. They’re really good.
