TSBDRA 60: Chi Siyuan is With Someone Else Now…
by starlightxelXu Xishuang panicked for a moment.
He hadn’t even figured out why he was so flustered when he realized his finger had already tapped the hang-up button. The call screen immediately went dark.
He stared at the screen as it returned to the home display, holding his breath for two seconds—only to see the call pop up again. Chi Siyuan was calling a second time.
Why was Chi Siyuan calling him? Was it because of what Yan Yushan said on the show yesterday about pursuing him? Or was it because he and Yan Yushan had interacted too much today?
Xu Xishuang watched as his finger once again hovered near the hang-up button. Just as he was about to press it, the baby in his belly suddenly gave a firm kick. The sensation pulled him sharply back to reality, scattering his spiraling thoughts. He paused, then hit the accept button.
He could run from Yan Yushan like an ostrich burying its head in the sand, but he couldn’t bring himself to ignore Chi Siyuan.
After all… he was the one who had stolen the affection that should have belonged to Chi Siyuan.
“Hello? Senior?” Chi Siyuan’s cheerful voice came through the phone. “I just tried calling earlier—did you accidentally hang up? Or are you busy right now? If so, I can call back later.”
“It’s fine,” Xu Xishuang replied, fingers absently toying with the pillow. “I tapped the wrong button. What’s up?”
There seemed to be someone else near Chi Siyuan—Xu Xishuang could hear faint murmuring on the other end, unclear but definitely present. It made him think Chi Siyuan was still on set, surrounded by others, and perhaps that was why he had chosen to call instead of video chatting.
Xu Xishuang waited quietly for more than ten seconds before Chi Siyuan’s voice came back, a little shy, “Senior, um, that photo of you today—it’s really beautiful. I saw it online. The snow squirrel was so cute. You looked like a fairytale princess who attracts little animals… Ah, I didn’t mean to objectify you or anything!”
Chi Siyuan stumbled over his words, trying to explain. As Xu Xishuang listened, he could’ve sworn he heard a faint chuckle in the background—a man’s voice.
To preserve the mystery and let viewers keep their romantic fantasies, the production team hadn’t revealed why the snow squirrel had jumped onto Xu Xishuang. Although some clever viewers had their theories, most were happy to believe it was his unique beauty that drew the animal in. Others had even begun speculating he had some kind of magical animal-attracting bloodline, and things were starting to take a turn toward the fantastical.
After finishing his comment about the photo, Chi Siyuan paused, then spoke again in a quieter voice, “Senior, I watched the show yesterday too. I think you were really brave—to come out like that, in front of the whole country.”
Xu Xishuang clutched at the blanket beside him, then slowly let go.
“I wish I could be that brave too,” Chi Siyuan muttered. “I really hate having to fake CPs with other group members, but I can’t go against my agent. Still… our boy group is about to disband. I’m terminating my contract soon, and I’ll be switching agencies. I won’t have to fake anything anymore. Senior, I want to become a real actor—take on meaningful roles, do great work.”
Xu Xishuang’s voice was quiet, almost flat. “Mm. Congratulations.”
In the original novel, Chi Siyuan did indeed grow into an outstanding actor. He and Yan Yushan collaborated on many classic works and won numerous awards together. The both of them were beloved and recognized as two of the industry’s brightest stars.
That knowledge now churned in Xu Xishuang’s chest, growing into a thick, suffocating weight. Guilt gnawed at him relentlessly, pressing harder with every breath, until it felt like something was going to burst out—but there was nowhere for it to go.
Chi Siyuan was quiet for a moment. Just as Xu Xishuang thought the conversation had ended, just as he was about to speak and wrap things up, Chi Siyuan’s voice came through again.
There was a familiar shyness in his tone, but also something slightly different. It was something like pride or maybe even a touch of smugness. He said softly, “Senior, I like someone now.”
Nausea surged up to Xu Xishuang’s throat. He slowly sat upright in bed, his gaze shifting toward the door.
Just like always, he had left the door unlocked for Yan Yushan, in case he came by again tonight and knocked like he did yesterday. But now, Xu Xishuang felt a wave of unprecedented fear. He didn’t want to see Yan Yushan walk through that door. He didn’t want to hear Chi Siyuan speak the name he knew was coming. He just wanted to shut himself away, to lock the world out completely.
“I think you’ve met him before, Senior,” Chi Siyuan added.
Please don’t say it.
Xu Xishuang begged silently, his heart pleading over and over—don’t say it.
He got up and walked to the door, lifting his hand toward it, ready to close it firmly, to shut everything out.
But Chi Siyuan didn’t hear his silent plea at all and continued speaking, “It’s… Song Yao.”
Xu Xishuang’s footsteps halted abruptly. He stood frozen mid-motion, hand still reaching for the door, phone clutched to his ear, breath completely thrown off balance.
“…Who did you say?” Xu Xishuang’s voice was hoarse. “You like… who?”
Chi Siyuan shyly repeated, “Song Yao. The screenwriter from our crew—the one who came to the lounge last time to get us for the interview. You’ve met him before, Senior.”
Xu Xishuang stood rooted in place, stunned, his mind a complete blank. It took him a long time to find his voice again, forcing out a strangled “Mm” from his tight throat.
“We’re already together, actually. He likes me too,” Chi Siyuan added, casually dropping a bomb that left Xu Xishuang even more dazed. “We’ve agreed that once I switch agencies, I’ll announce on Weibo that I have a boyfriend.”
Chi Siyuan… doesn’t like Yan Yushan?
The main couple is broken?
Xu Xishuang struggled to retrieve the original plot from the mess his mind had become. He remembered clearly—the novel had stated that Yan Yushan and Chi Siyuan were each other’s first loves. Before falling in love, neither had dated anyone else, much less been in any other relationship.
The dull pain in his chest seemed to rise into his throat. Xu Xishuang clutched at his racing heart, his throat numb and burning, a sharp sting agitating his dulled nerves.
Chi Siyuan, fully immersed in his excitement, couldn’t stop sharing his joy with the senior he looked up to, “Song Yao and I haven’t been together for very long, but he’s already picked out the place where we’ll get married… Oh, I actually wanted to wait until we were ready to go public before telling you, but Song Yao said I should let you know earlier—”
Xu Xishuang didn’t hear the rest.
At some point, his hand had started shaking—shaking so badly that he accidentally hit the end-call button. Chi Siyuan’s voice cut off instantly. His trembling fingers couldn’t hold the phone anymore, and it fell to the carpeted floor with a heavy thud.
He stood still for a while, head still spinning. Just as he was about to bend down to pick up the phone, the door in front of him gave a soft creak—then closed with a quiet thud.
He looked up and met Yan Yushan’s black eyes.
Staring into Yan Yushan’s calm gaze, Xu Xishuang’s throat tightened painfully. He didn’t know why, but he suddenly wanted to tell Yan Yushan that Chi Siyuan was with someone else. His body had stopped listening to his mind.
“Chi Siyuan…” Xu Xishuang spoke, dazed, “Chi Siyuan is with someone else…”
But Yan Yushan never heard the rest.
Because right in front of him, Xu Xishuang suddenly bent over and vomited a mouthful of blood. It spilled through the gaps between his fingers in thick, heavy streams, not in small drips—within seconds, the grey carpet was soaked in red.
Yan Yushan’s mind went completely blank.
Xu Xishuang’s body gave out a second before his mind could even process it but Yan Yushan was faster. In one swift motion, he caught him mid-collapse, scooping him up in his arms. Kicking the door open with a loud bang, Yan Yushan’s calm façade shattered completely. His voice was raw, nearly torn from his throat, “Ambulance! Someone call an ambulance!!”
Outside the livestream, viewers had still been joking, guessing whether Yan Yushan would spend another fifteen minutes alone in Xu Xishuang’s room again tonight. Then came the crash of the door and the sight of Yan Yushan bursting out of the room, cradling Xu Xishuang in his arms as he sprinted through the snow, shouting for help.
At the monitor station, Fei Yuan knocked over his thermos in shock, hot tea spilling all over the control board. Thousands of yuan in equipment shorted out instantly, but he didn’t even glance at it. Trembling, he screamed at the tech team, “Cut it! Cut the livestream!”
“Quick! Call an ambulance now!” Fei Yuan’s hands were shaking uncontrollably. “Hurry—Xu Xishuang absolutely cannot have anything happen to him!”
Because if something did… Yan Yushan would truly lose his mind.
The livestream cut off without warning.
For a full second, viewers stared at the suddenly black screen in stunned silence.
And then—complete chaos erupted.
【?? What just happened?! Did anyone hear what Yan Yushan shouted?!】
【He was yelling for an ambulance—I think Xu Xishuang collapsed… and it looked serious.】
【What the hell?? They cut the feed—Xu Xishuang’s really hurt?? Please, please let him be okay.】
【No no no, please don’t let anything happen to our baby Xu!】
【Livestream team, open the stream again—I need to know what’s happening! I need to see if he’s okay!!】
【Yan Yushan’s face just now scared me to death… I think the show cutting off was the right call. But the crew better give us an update on Weibo, or we’ll riot.】
【I can’t sleep now. I’m so worried about Xu Xishuang.】
Cradling Xu Xishuang as he rushed out of the cabin, Yan Yushan was hit by the biting wind and snow—just enough to snap him back into focus.
They couldn’t call an ambulance.
They couldn’t go to a public hospital.
No one could find out that Xu Xishuang was pregnant.
Yan Yushan exhaled heavily, his heart aching as he looked down at the unconscious person in his arms. He turned back toward the cabin with long strides, fetched a thick down jacket to wrap tightly around Xu Xishuang, then threw on his own coat and held him close against his chest, arms firm, as if trying to keep him from disappearing.
With one hand, he called his private jet, ordering them to come immediately and prepare to fly to Dr. Xu. He sent a rapid update of Xu Xishuang’s condition, urgently seeking medical guidance.
The commotion was impossible to ignore. The other guests quickly emerged from their rooms, startled and worried. They were about to ask what was happening until they saw Yan Yushan’s face.
It was grim, dark as a stormcloud.
And in his arms, Xu Xishuang lay unconscious.
The questions died on their lips.
Yan Yushan sank silently onto the couch, still holding Xu Xishuang tightly, refusing to let go. He was afraid that if he loosened his grip even a little, Xu Xishuang would vanish into thin air.
His phone buzzed.
His hand trembled as he picked it up and saw a message from Dr. Xu: “Check his breathing and pulse. If they’re not rapid or irregular, that means the situation isn’t critical yet. It’s not the worst-case scenario.”
Dr. Xu replied: “I’ve reviewed Xu Xishuang’s medical records. He’s had episodes of massive bleeding and fainting before—it likely isn’t fatal. Try to stay calm. I’ll do everything I can to treat him, okay?”
Yan Yushan took a deep breath. “Okay.”
After confirming that Xu Xishuang’s breathing and heartbeat were stable, he shut his eyes briefly to steady himself, then asked, “He’s okay for now. What should I do next?”
Dr. Xu answered, “If he can drink, try giving him a bit of water. And is there blood on his face? If so, help him clean it off. Most importantly, get him to me as soon as possible.”
Yan Yushan typed: “Understood.”
He looked up at the people gathered around and said hoarsely, “Could someone boil some water and bring me a warm towel? Thank you.”
The others exchanged glances. Xiang Yao immediately went to rekindle the fire at the hearth. Shen Youlian and Bai Keke rushed to prepare hot water. Yu Shudie pressed her lips together and ran to the laundry area, found a clean towel, soaked it in warm water, then returned with the basin and cloth, placing them gently by Yan Yushan’s side.
“You help him… wipe his face,” Yu Shudie said softly.
The bleeding had stopped. Xu Xishuang’s breathing was steady now, like he was simply asleep but his face, hands, and the inside of his sweater were still stained with blood. It was shocking, vivid red.
“Thank you.” Yan Yushan’s voice was hoarse. Cradling Xu Xishuang with one arm, he sat down and picked up the towel to gently wipe his face.
His movements were so light, so careful, like he was handling a once-in-a-lifetime treasure, terrified that the slightest pressure might break him.
Yu Shudie turned her face away. She admitted to herself that seeing Yan Yushan so devoted like this, still made her feel jealous of Xu Xishuang, the person being loved so deeply—but now, all she could do was not look.
Yan Yao found Xu Xishuang’s phone on the floor of his room. She stared at the bloodstains that covered the floor, fighting back the urge to cry. Clutching the still-vibrating phone, she rushed back to Yan Yushan and handed it to him.
The screen showed the caller: Chi Siyuan.
A surge of uncontrollable anger welled up in Yan Yushan’s chest. He knew he was projecting—misplacing his anger—but this was connected to Chi Siyuan. If Chi Siyuan hadn’t gotten involved with someone else…
No. He couldn’t think about that right now.
Yan Yushan let the anger simmer as he rejected the call, then opened his own phone and sent a message to Chi Siyuan: “Stop calling.”
Chi Siyuan replied almost immediately: “Is Senior Xu sick?”
“None of your business,” Yan Yushan replied coldly.
Chi Siyuan was startled by Yan Yushan’s tone and cautiously said, “Then once Senior Xu is better, I’ll go visit him.”
Yan Yushan didn’t respond to Chi Siyuan again. He turned off his phone and continued carefully wiping the side of Xu Xishuang’s face and her fingers.
The ambulance and private jet arrived almost simultaneously. Yan Yushan hurriedly apologized to the medical staff, then boarded the private jet that had landed in the vast snowy field, leaving the place behind.
The others watched the plane fly off into the distance, exchanging worried glances, no longer in the mood to sleep. Led by Fei Yuan, the production team scrambled to deal with the online backlash, informing everyone that Xu Xishuang had been taken to the hospital and asking for calm.
On the first day that Xu Xishuang and Yan Yushan left the show, things remained relatively calm.
The show continued as usual on the second day. With two guests gone, only five remained. None of them mentioned Xu Xishuang or Yan Yushan, and they still carried out the check-in tasks assigned by Fei Yuan. However, the live chat wasn’t as lively as before, and the atmosphere among the guests was noticeably more subdued.
On the third day after Xu Xishuang and Yan Yushan’s departure, the guests encountered the elderly grandma again during a task. When she asked where Xu Xishuang had gone and why she hadn’t come to visit, Yan Yao almost couldn’t hold her expression, and the live chat broke down emotionally along with her.
Fei Yuan contacted Yan Yushan again, and the other guests also received updates from him, learning that Xu Xishuang was undergoing treatment but had yet to wake up. While that gave them some relief, they couldn’t help but worry whether she might never wake up.
At Yan Yushan’s request, Fei Yuan released an official statement saying that Xu Xishuang was receiving proper treatment, but he kept the fact that she was still unconscious under wraps, temporarily calming the audience.
On the eighth day of Xu Xishuang and Yan Yushan’s absence—the final day of the show—viewers still hadn’t seen their return and began voicing doubts. Just as Fei Yuan was about to crack under the barrage of questions in the live chat, Yan Yushan suddenly called him and said—
Xu Xishuang had woken up.
