SYU 37. Extra 2: Chen Xiucheng and the Cat Part 1
by Slashh-XOWu Jinshan still liked hanging out at that old spot behind the veterinary building. Now and then, Chen Xiucheng would come find him inside the white spherical decorative structure.
But nine times out of ten, he’d be interrupted by a certain orange third wheel.
Chen Xiucheng was not pleased. He had always been good at getting along with people, well, except for Wu Jinshan in the beginning, and now, this completely unreasonable cat.
He and Wu Jinshan had been hiding out inside the sphere, just the two of them, and things were going well.
Well… not that well.
Wu Jinshan had been lost in the memory of how Chen Xiucheng sounded during their first night together at the hotel. Even when he saw the man himself coming over in a hurry, he didn’t stop. He got caught red-handed and got an earful for it.
“You pervert!” Chen Xiucheng had no idea how many times he had already deleted that audio clip from Wu Jinshan’s phone.
Wu Jinshan let him delete it. He had backups anyway.
Deleting the file was useless, so Chen Xiucheng struck back. He pulled out a recording from last semester, one of Wu Jinshan’s heartfelt declarations, and warned him that if he didn’t take good care of him, he could expect lifelong impotence and premature ejaculation.
The two of them were in the middle of their chaotic exchange when the orange-and-white stray cat appeared again.
The cat must have felt it had come too late. Its usual sleeping spot had been taken over by a stranger. It arched its back, raised its tail, and started yowling at Chen Xiucheng in protest.
Wu Jinshan said the cat just didn’t recognize him yet. He told Chen Xiucheng to try getting closer, handed him a few Churu treats, and urged him to feed it.
But Chen Xiucheng didn’t know what he had done to offend His Majesty the Cat. In any case, the orange menace absolutely refused to eat his offerings. Not only did it swat the treat out of his hand, it even scratched him three times across the back of his hand.
Chen Xiucheng screamed that he needed to go get a rabies shot. Wu Jinshan quickly tried to calm him down, explaining that the cat had been living at the vet school for three years, was well cared for, regularly bathed, dewormed, vaccinated, and given full health checks. Those three tiny scratches on his hand were barely even visible and definitely nothing to worry about.
But Chen Xiucheng was still fuming. He pointed at the cat and accused it of being a homewrecker.
Wu Jinshan explained that the cat was male and had been neutered ages ago. His equipment long gone.
Chen Xiucheng replied, “A gay cat.”
Wu Jinshan said the cat actually had plenty of female feline friends, just not here at the vet school.
Chen Xiucheng commented, “Women’s best friend, huh.”
The cat got pissed and started chasing him.
Chen Xiucheng scrambled up to the top of the dome to escape and shouted down at Wu Jinshan, “Aren’t you going to help me?!”
Wu Jinshan stood at the bottom watching the chaos like a bystander across the river and laughed. “You’re the one who dissed the cat.”
And so, aside from his own mother and Wu Jinshan, Chen Xiucheng now had a grudge match with a stray orange-and-white cat. He stayed mad at Wu Jinshan for a full week.
Wu Jinshan spent the next seven days coaxing him nonstop…
After a week, Chen Xiucheng’s attitude finally began to soften, though he was still distant. Every now and then, he would toss out a snide remark, like how his last hair dye job must’ve been the wrong color, and no wonder sea blue didn’t work on him, since he was already crowned in bright green.
Wu Jinshan could only laugh. He started avoiding their old hangout spot, and whenever he went to pet the cat behind Chen Xiucheng’s back, it felt like sneaking around to have an affair.
Things were relatively chill at the start of the new semester, but once the coursework piled up, they barely had time to fool around. Chen Xiucheng was always squeezing in games when he could, procrastinating until deadlines loomed before scrambling to finish his assignments. The soccer club and practice field basically became study halls for him and the guys to cram or work on lab reports.
After finals, in the days leading up to the New Year holiday, Chen Xiucheng picked up a small package from the campus delivery station. He hid it away sneakily, and later, while chatting casually with Wu Jinshan, he suddenly brought up whether he was going home for the break. He hinted that he kind of wanted to visit the ranch again.
Wu Jinshan sensed something was up. Chen Xiucheng refused to say anything directly, instead listing a bunch of half-baked reasons.
He said he missed Yashan and Chongshan and wanted to spend time with them. Then he said Aunt Lin and Mr. Chen were going on a holiday date and didn’t want him around playing third wheel. He also mentioned that his little fan really loved his desserts and that he wanted to use Wu Jinshan’s kitchen to bake some Christmas cookies to mail out.
But no matter how many excuses he gave, Wu Jinshan shot them all down. “Sounds like those two don’t have enough homework if they still have time to play with you.” Then he picked up his phone to assign them math problems. “And your little fan doesn’t even like sweets. No need to mail them. Give the love to me instead. I’ll accept it on his behalf.”
“If you’re not going home either, we can just stay in the dorm and have some fun,” he added. Then, seeing Chen Xiucheng hesitate, he cut to the chase. “Or do you want to book a room off campus?”
To his surprise, Chen Xiucheng snapped back, calling him a shameless pervert with nothing but sex in his brain. “Forget it. I’ll spend the break at Zhao Xi’s place!”
Truth was, Wu Jinshan hadn’t planned on going home. His place was far, and the trip was inconvenient. He didn’t go back last year either. Whether he was at the dorm or home made little difference. But now that Chen Xiucheng was clearly scheming to sneak into the wolf’s den, how could he not tease him a little? Still, in the end, he bought a train ticket.
The ride took several hours and should have been exhausting, but Chen Xiucheng was practically buzzing with energy when they arrived. He couldn’t sit still, as if he were waiting for something. He urged Wu Jinshan to hurry up and shower, saying to come to the living room afterward to watch TV together…
Watch TV, seriously? Wu Jinshan knew better than to call him out. Chen Xiucheng being this eager was rare. No, completely unheard of. This was a first.
So after he showered, Wu Jinshan came out with a towel around his waist and saw Chen Xiucheng waiting for him on the couch.
He had on black cat ears. A collar around his neck. Furry cuffs around his wrists and ankles. A long, teasing black cat tail attached to his ass.
He was lying there like the perfect obedient pet.
