In the last chapter, some readers asked why I’m detailing side plots—how do they help the main story? I get it. With my slow updates (a chapter every few days) and no progress on the romance, it’s natural to feel disappointed. After all, Fatty’s love life is what everyone’s most invested in. But from the start, I’ve said this story is game-focused, with romance as a subplot. Of course, the romance is still the main thread, but as it unfolds, I also want to present a rich gaming world. I want to portray friendship, and I want personal growth for the members of our group (okay, that sounds a bit lofty, but I just want the characters to grow alongside the story). We’ll definitely enter the real world eventually, but the virtual and real worlds are interconnected. Together, they make up a real life. I believe that when you look back, every plot point will feel meaningful. Combined, they form the complete Ghost Server Legion.
I’ve rambled a bit today. Honestly, I’ve always felt that writing should speak for itself—what readers take from it is what matters most. There’s no need for the author to explain things on the side. But maybe it’s because of recent events in the fandom that I’ve been thinking a lot about maintaining a good mindset. Trust the readers, trust yourself. As long as you write with heart, even if it’s not a Michelin-starred dish, it’ll at least be a filling plate of fried rice. Filling is good enough, right? Heh~ And though I can’t be as zen as Birdy-kun, I can communicate and share more with everyone. Most importantly, never forget the feeling you had when you first started writing. Sincere thanks to all of you who’ve stuck with me.
