by LiliumChapter 19 The Master Has Only One
Chen Jian watched as Lu Kongyun removed the bite-blocker and placed it on the table.
Lu Kongyun was visiting S House for the first time, and upon arriving, he had requested something stimulating. Chen Jian did not seem to take it too seriously. It appeared that Lu Kongyun had removed the bite-blocker in order to demonstrate that he was not merely “looking around.”
Thus, Chen Jian smiled respectfully and quietly observed what Lu Kongyun would do next.
Lu Kongyun stared for a moment at the guest who was teasing the waiter over there, but he merely pushed the drink aside and poured himself a full glass of liquor. He drank one glass, then poured himself another full one.
…Cough. So Lu Kongyun had removed the bite-blocker simply to make drinking more convenient?
Chen Jian crossed his arms and leaned back against the sofa.
Many guests had fixed their gazes on that exquisite beauty who had undergone gland surgery. However, no one truly beckoned him over; probably, everyone shared the same thought, that this one was reserved for the most important guest here.
Chen Jian said in an encouraging manner, “Director Lu, if you do not speak, others will not dare to touch him.”
Lu Kongyun glanced at Chen Jian, then beckoned to that exquisite beauty. The beauty walked over and sat beside Lu Kongyun, leaning against his arm.
“The recovery period prohibits receiving guests,” Lu Kongyun said as he withdrew his arm to pour himself more liquor.
“…Thank you for your concern, Mr. Lu,” the beauty replied, momentarily surprised before lowering his eyes. “I have already received guests. It is fine.”
“It will be a problem when you are already dead,” Lu Kongyun said.
The beauty: “.”
Lu Kongyun’s face remained expressionless as he drained the glass once more.
The guest who had been teasing the waiter began to fiddle with the zipper of his own pants. As expected, it would not open. Some people nearby burst into laughter.
“Hey, Young Master Ding, you come out to play wearing pants that you cannot take off properly. You are letting down your friends and also your wife. I have learned something; I have learned something.”
“Hahaha!”
Seeing these people deliberately mocking him, especially taking pleasure in it right in front of someone from the Lu family, this Ding-surnamed guest began to feel annoyed. He yanked at it several times, but the pants zipper remained stuck as tightly as a crocodile’s mouth, unmoving.
“…Was it you who did this on purpose?! Hmm?”
The kneeling waiter, however, seemed to be looking toward the other side of the sofa.
“You damn… What are you looking at!”
He twisted the waiter’s face, which had turned to the side, back toward him and raised his hand to deliver a slap: “I am talking to you!”
This time, the server did not apologize again; he merely remained silent and lowered his head.
Lu Kongyun poured himself another full glass from the empty one.
Gao Yuting reminded him, “Take it easy; this liquor has a strong aftereffect.”
“…I am truly sorry. Master.” After a moment, the waiter lifted his head and said with a smile, “I will go out first to fetch a tool and fix your pants for you. I guarantee I will fix them properly, and then continue to ‘serve’ you.”
He knelt there and bowed his body respectfully, then stood up and left the room.
The Ding-surnamed guest thought for a moment, revealed a smile, and stood up intending to follow him out.
Of course, no one stopped him; someone merely jeered, “Young Master Ding, with so many beauties here who know how to serve people, you insist on playing with a mere drink server.”
Because his pants had been mocked, the Ding-surnamed guest resolved to properly “deal with” this inferior Omega waiter. With a playful smile, he said, “First, some appetizers; then I will come back for the main course later.”
“Stop,” Lu Kongyun said.
The Ding-surnamed guest stopped. He had not expected Lu Kongyun to call him.
“Did I let you leave?” This second young master of the Lu family spoke in a tone that was not particularly likable. “Come back.”
The Ding-surnamed guest was stunned, glanced at Chen Jian again, then immediately switched to a fawning smile as he walked back, planning to say some apologetic words along with excuses about his lack of discernment and neglecting him. But Lu Kongyun spoke again.
“I thought Director Chen’s intention was for me to choose first.”
“…” The Ding-surnamed guest was also from the military department. Seeing Lu Kongyun’s cold tone and expression, which seemed truly angry, the entire room’s atmosphere had vanished. Thus, he gradually restrained his smile; at this moment, he no longer resembled a guest out for play but more like a soldier making a report.
He stood at attention: “My apologies, Colonel Lu. I thought you would not want a…”
“You thought,” Lu Kongyun said, glancing at him and hesitating for a moment. Then he said, “Come here.”
The Ding-surnamed guest walked to stand before him.
Lu Kongyun stood up, facing him. He slightly adjusted his sleeve, then swung his arm to deliver a slap. The sound was resounding. The Ding-surnamed guest’s head was knocked to the side; only after a long while did he turn it back, lowering his head and saying loudly, “My apologies! Colonel Lu!”
“…” Lu Kongyun looked at his own hand, then lowered his sleeve.
“…My emotional and physical state is not very stable right now, which is why I came to S House,” he explained, then pointed to his bite-blocker. “I apologize for my behavior.”
“You do not need to apologize! It was I who overstepped, Colonel,” the Ding-surnamed guest said, still standing straight.
Lu Kongyun lowered his head for a moment, then said, “Oh.”
He delivered another backhanded slap, which seemed even crisper in sound than the previous one, as if he had grasped the technique.
Lu Kongyun: “So it is your fault. Is that correct?”
“Yes! My apologies! Colonel Lu!” the Ding-surnamed guest said loudly again.
Everyone in the room fell silent as if turned to wooden chickens.
“Return to your seat.”
The Ding-surnamed guest walked back.
Lu Kongyun also sat down and continued pouring himself liquor.
“Do not all look at me. Play your own games,” he said.
The sofa produced some sounds, indicating that the others had complied with this suggestion. But no one chatted anymore. The atmosphere had been completely ruined. Chen Jian wanted to smooth things over, but at least at this moment, based on his intuition, it was not a good time. He exchanged a glance with Gao Yuting; Doctor Gao gave a wry smile and shrugged.
The guests present were basically all high-ranking Alphas, with S-class ones among them. Everyone could feel that threatening aura, which the master of the pheromones was striving to suppress, beginning to permeate the air. This feeling was like the lowest pressure point before a storm, or the instant after the cage of a wild beast was opened in a fighting arena, making everyone in the room feel restless.
All those in this ABO world who abided by these animal rules could sense the disturbance from the pheromones at the top of the food chain. It had nothing to do with status, position, intelligence, or physical strength.
This was actually quite ridiculous? Gao Yuting thought. He lifted his wrist and silently adjusted his wristband. Then, as if reacting to it, several people lifted their hands and did the same.
The beauty who had undergone gland surgery trembled in his aura. His dual pheromones were disturbed by two different forces, causing him immense distress. Lu Kongyun glanced at him and said, “You, go sit far away.”
The beauty immediately stood up and walked to the far end of the private room, keeping company with the fish tank.
…
Yu Xiaowen left the private room, rubbed his face, and spat, “Damn dog thing.”
The operation had gone smoothly.
It was just…
Why would that person be in a place like this? …How could it be possible? Lu Kongyun.
However, he did not seem to know these people.
The scene of Lu Kongyun beckoning a stunning beauty to his side still flickered before Yu Xiaowen’s eyes.
He had even removed the bite-blocker.
So, why? Could it be that after I said he was a virgin, this guy immediately thought about coming here to lose his virginity? Do I have that much influence? Is he so afraid that I would take advantage of him?
Haha.
Yu Xiaowen wanted to laugh, but he could not. His chest felt stuffy and painful, with a nauseous sensation; he did not know if it was because the painkillers were wearing off. He took out the two pills he had prepared in advance, threw them into his mouth, and swallowed them with great difficulty using his constricted throat.
He turned away from the private room door and stopped at the sink by the public restroom entrance.
He turned on the faucet to wash his hands; an Alpha server walked over and also turned on the faucet to wash his hands. It was Xu Jie. The action team all had micro earpieces, so they could hear each other’s voices. Thus, he knew what had happened in the private room.
His expression was full of heartache: “Brother, are you hurting?”
“It is nothing,” Yu Xiaowen said.
Xu Jie lowered his voice again and asked, “Did it succeed?”
Yu Xiaowen looked at Xu Jie in the mirror and only nodded, without speaking.
Xu Jie was very happy: “Withdraw?”
Yu Xiaowen shook his head: “I still need to go back. Suddenly disappearing would raise suspicions.”
“But that guy just now wanted to… um, you. If you go back…” Xu Jie bit his lip and said.
“What if he wants to um? Does wanting it mean he gets it?” Yu Xiaowen hooked the corner of his mouth into a smile and laughed, masking his voice under the melodious music in the hall: “Then I damn well want to sleep with Big Head Li too. The overtime pay would be settled long ago.”
A colleague in the earpiece drew in a sharp breath.
“Brother Xiaowen. The director is on the channel.”
An awkward middle-aged cough: “…It will not be shortchanged for you.”
Yu Xiaowen: “.”
Yu Xiaowen: “Hey. Thank you.”
Some colleagues laughed, and the tense air instantly relaxed a bit.
Chen Zihan’s voice sounded in the earpiece: “Wen’er, the informant has heard the voice and confirmed it is the same person without mistake. Since the target has been found, there is no need to rush for a moment. Hurry and find an opportunity to withdraw; do not risk your life alone again. Do you hear me?”
“I can handle it,” Yu Xiaowen said. He used his tongue to prod the swollen cheek in the mirror, then casually wiped away the blood at the corner of his mouth.
On the way back, Yu Xiaowen had already devised a plan for how to continue dealing with the target for a while and then leave properly. He paused for a moment at the door, then pushed it open and entered the private room.
“Brother, I am nearby; I will provide support for you,” Xu Jie said in the earpiece.
Yu Xiaowen did not respond; instead, he was stunned and subconsciously checked the room number. VIP001, correct.
He looked toward the guests again.
The situation in the private room was completely different from before; he felt as if he had stumbled into a parallel universe.
It was quiet; there was no music from the speakers, nor any wanton laughter or chatter. The guests sat upright on the sofas, holding their glasses with serious expressions as they drank decorously. The servers continued to attend to each guest, but their postures were not the least bit coy, and their demeanors held no trace of allure; instead, each one resembled a well-trained lobby manager, eyes fixed straight ahead.
It was as if a military conference had been air-dropped into S House.
The underworld version.
The beauty who had originally been beside Lu Kongyun was gone, leaving an empty seat.
And his target, the Ding person, seemed to have gained some weight in this short time.
The scene was too bizarre and inconceivable; Yu Xiaowen subconsciously touched his arm, even when encountering the most vicious criminal, he had never felt his arm grow cold. He stood stunned at the door for a while, momentarily unsure how to react. Club owner Director Chen moved first, breaking the conference mode.
“Come in,” Chen Jian said to him in a very amiable tone.
“…” Yu Xiaowen could sense that under this atmosphere, there was a disturbing pheromone, but in a private room party like this ABO gathering, the scents were mixed, making it hard to distinguish. Because he was still wearing that inhibitor patch with the strongest intensity and side effects, Yu Xiaowen could feel the influence but would not be controlled by it.
He subconsciously touched the inhibitor patch at the back of his neck… but did not feel it. It was blocked by the collar.
“Pour the liquor,” Lu Kongyun said.
He lifted his eyes. He looked at Yu Xiaowen.
His messy hair had been combed back, revealing his forehead and the tightly furrowed long brows.
…Yu Xiaowen should have known whose underworld pheromone this was by now.
…
Chen Jian heard Lu Kongyun speak and quickly beckoned, signaling the stunned Omega waiter to come over quickly. Thus, he walked over and knelt at Lu Kongyun’s feet, pouring liquor for him.
Then he offered it with both hands: “Master.”
Lu Kongyun lowered his eyes to look at him but did not take the glass.
Gao Yuting sized up this waiter kneeling at his feet, lifting his face. This person had rather heavy makeup, but he inexplicably looked innocent and straightforward, creating a subtle contrast with the occasion.
After sizing him up, Gao Yuting thought that the Ding-surnamed guest wanting to have a taste of this appetizer first was reasonable.
Then he turned his head and said in a low voice to Lu Kongyun, “Do not drink anymore; your monitoring data is about to explode. Do not make it any more unsightly. Do you want to go into rut here?”
Lu Kongyun ignored Gao Yuting and merely stared at the waiter with a stern face: “Don’t call me that.”
“Hm?” The waiter met Lu Kongyun’s gaze for a while, then slowly lowered his head.
He touched his neck.
Lu Kongyun used his finger to lift the waiter’s face, staring at it. Then he drew a tissue, dipped it in the liquor from the glass the waiter was holding, and slowly wiped away the sparkling lipstick on the waiter’s mouth, which had already been smeared somewhat blurry, including the bloodied corner of the mouth mixed with the lipstick.
The alcohol stung, and the waiter frowned but made no sound.
“The master should be one,” Lu Kongyun said. “The master can only be one. Your work has nothing to do with me. But if you have called someone else that, do not call me that again.”
Chen Jian felt that this second young master of the Lu family had absolutely no connection to the various rumored versions he had heard before. Whether good words or bad, none of the stories mentioned him being such a meticulous person.
“Then just call one,” Chen Jian quickly seized the opportunity to adapt to the wind and ease the atmosphere; he called to the waiter, “You, tonight you only need to attend to Mr. Lu. Only call him master.”
“…” Lu Kongyun glanced at Chen Jian, his expression one of indescribable complexity. “That is not what I meant.”
Chen Jian patted the empty space between himself and Lu Kongyun and said, “Come over quickly.”
…
Yu Xiaowen could only sit down. He sat between the two of them. Suddenly, Chen Jian reached around from behind and groped his buttocks; he turned his head to look at Chen Jian.
Chen Jian leaned close, pretending to be affectionate but actually whispering an instruction: “There is something in his liquor.”
Yu Xiaowen: “…”
“Some little aphrodisiacs to liven things up; they are about to take effect,” Chen Jian said, glancing with his eyes toward a mysterious small door in the corner of the private room and smiling. “Tonight, we must keep the person here. At any cost. Do you understand?”
Yu Xiaowen bit his teeth and smiled, saying, “Can you not see that this guest is in his susceptible period? And you still drug him; do you want to kill him?”
“Yu Xiaowen.” After a period of silence, Chen Zihan’s voice came from the earpiece. “You hurry up and get out of there for me; do not meddle in matters of unrelated people. Immediately.”
