Chapter 42: A Love Letter from the Past

    Dear classmate Lu Kongyun,

This is already the sixth letter I have written to you. Eh, you did not see the first five; why is that? Because they are in my paper bin from some past day. Ah haha.

But tomorrow I’m on duty to check students’ backpacks. If I miss this opportunity, I don’t know when I’ll get another chance to slip this letter into yours. So this sixth one must be delivered. ><

In the school tennis finals, you got second place; seeing you confront an opponent far surpassing you in height and build was moving. You are still in differentiation, yet completed the match so well (crossed out) , you are so amazing.

    (Simple line art thumbs x3)

I have never had the chance, but I really want to tell you personally that I think in this match, you were as remarkable as the champion!

And I believe you will win next time. I hope then to be at the scene cheering you on~

May I ask (ink blot) can we be friends?

I know coming to say such things is very abrupt, but actually we have intersected several times already; it is mainly me paying attention to you, and you probably do not remember me… It is I who got injured and you gave band-aid and medicine. Later I also had a fever in front of you, and you had your brother take me to the hospital. Yes, both these silly things are me.

I really like (crossed out like) want to be friends with you. You are so kind, and good-looking (crossed out good-looking) beautiful (crossed out beautiful) handsome (crossed out handsome) good-looking. Though my pheromone scent is not very good, I will use suppression patches and wash with mild-scented shampoo, so normally the scent is not noticeable.

Moreover! My mother says this is just because we are still young, so everyone is not used to my scent yet. She says when I grow up, I will certainly be very popular. If we can always be friends, then later, you can tell me if my mother was right. Ah haha.

    I thought too far!

I love sports too; we must have things to talk about. Every sports meet, I represent the class in events; in relays, I am often last leg, and my long jump got first place (crossed out first place, blacked out, smeared so “first place” three characters are illegible) good results.

My friends also say I am very interesting; being with me is very happy. (Though this letter is very boring, but actually I am not so boring in person; it is just because I am too nervous that I did not perform well.) My studies are average, certainly cannot compare to you, but my character is not bad; I never do harm to others for self-benefit. My personality is also optimistic and outgoing (if I can know you, I will be even happier, flying up ><)

You’re the person I want to be around the most (a big ink dot) in all these years. I really, really want to talk to you, or even just get closer to see you. Because just seeing you makes me eat more dinner that day.

If possible, can we meet at your equipment room at noon tomorrow? If you don’t want to be disturbed, just throw this letter away, and I promise I won’t bother you again. We won’t feel awkward running into each other at school anymore. If we ever become friends, I’ll tell you my name.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I hope it won’t cause you any trouble^^

P.S.: You look really good when you smile (crossed out the “look” character).

Yu Xiaowen turned off the desk lamp, took the pink letter paper, and climbed onto the bed in the dark. After a while, he sat up again, turned on the light, and read it again. In the end, he found that he had indeed reached the limit of his own writing ability and could not continue to break through the realm, so he stopped competing with himself.

His eyes suddenly glanced at the name at the beginning of the letter, and it gave him goose bumps. He immediately turned off the light, returned to the bed and curled up.

After a while, he still struggled to get up, turned on the desk lamp, and sat back on the stool. He let the pen turn smoothly and anxiously between his fingers for a hundred times. Finally, he scratched the pen and added the last sentence to the letter without hesitation.

    I really like you.
