    “Ughh…”

If he had known it would be like this, he should have paid attention to the erotic paintings the headmaster had shown him or the explanations he had given about intercourse. He had only listened with a sense of rebellion, letting it all go in one ear and out the other, so he was worried about whether he could do it well.

To be honest, it was just too difficult to imagine how he could press his bare skin against him without a stitch of clothing on. Remembering the state of his groin, which would tingle every time Hwi kissed him, felt strange, as if his body was not his own, and his legs instinctively drew together.

With a heart that was both excited and fearful, he meticulously washed his body and came out, and a servant helped him get dressed in the ceremonial attire. After putting on the auspicious clothes, Yoonso returned to the bridal chamber, his face flushed red.

Everything was awkward, from the ceremonial robe he was wearing for the first time, to the bridal chamber that exuded a seductive atmosphere, and the faint scent of flowers rising from the scattered wisteria blossoms. Yoonso fiddled with his fingertips and then realized anew that the cuffs of his sleeves were exquisitely cut, just barely touching the back of his hands.

Now that he looked at it, these clothes he was wearing for the first time fit him perfectly, as if they had been tailored for him. While he was marveling at how this could be, the door opened, and the hem of a blue ceremonial robe identical to his own came into view. Yoonso stopped fiddling with his cuffs and froze.

He could feel Hwi’s gaze fixed squarely on him without even looking. He strode inside and sat across from him. Yoonso could not lift his eyes until his neat hands had poured alcohol into two cups.

“Are you planning not to even look at the new groom’s face on your wedding night?”

A leisurely voice, even tinged with laughter, brushed past his ear. It was a mystery why he felt so unfamiliar and awkward when Hwi had not become a different person. Yoonso glanced meaninglessly over the table of drinks and side dishes before timidly raising his gaze. And just then, he met the eyes of Hwi, who was looking right at him.

He had simply put on a wedding robe, and nothing else had changed, yet his appearance had become more handsome. His refreshingly long-tailed eyes, long eyelashes, high-bridged nose, and neat lips held his gaze and would not let go.

Hwi’s gaze, too, traveled over Yoonso’s eyes and nose and then fell to his lips. The eyes that persistently roamed his face grew even darker, as if they had not received a single ray of light, and Yoonso flinched.

“You were so restless before we went to the shrine, but it seems it is finally sinking in now.”

    “When was I ever restless?”

“Yes, this is more like my husband.”

When he immediately retorted, provoked by the fabricated words, Hwi’s eyes crinkled in a satisfied smile. Only then did his tension ease a little, and the title of ‘husband’ tickled his chest, so as he pursed his lips and let out a silent laugh, Hwi gazed at Yoonso even more affectionately.

“It seems you were in the water for a long time. Your cheeks are as ripe as an apple.”

“I suppose it is because the water was warm.”

“Do you like the room? I tried to follow what everyone else does to decorate it.”

“When did you prepare all of this? Was I not surprised.”

    “Then it was a success.”

Hwi showed a pleased expression, then rose from his seat and brought over a box that was on the incense table, which was wrapped in a blue cloth. When Yoonso looked at him quizzically, Hwi placed the box on the table and gestured.

    “Open it.”

Yoonso carefully unwrapped the blue cloth and opened the box, then checked its contents and widened his eyes before looking back at Hwi.

“Is that not an arm ring?”

Hwi took out the arm ring, then took Yoonso’s hand in his. And then he slowly slipped it onto Yoonso’s forearm.

The surface of the arm ring was embossed with two dragons chasing each other’s tails, so Yoonso’s forearm was in a position of being trapped between the dragons. The dragons’ forms were so detailed that one could tell it was not the work of an ordinary craftsman, and since the material of the ring was none other than glittering gold, his arm felt heavy on its own.

“It suits you well, as I thought.”

    “What is all of this?”

“No matter how modestly we do it, we should still prepare wedding gifts, should we not?”

“I did not have a chance to prepare anything…”

“Have you forgotten what you have already given me?”

While he was trying to remember what he had given Hwi, Hwi took out a pouch from his breast pocket. Comparing the dragon adorning the arm ring to the clumsy turtle embroidered in the middle of the pouch, his face grew hot, and Yoonso let out a deep sigh.

“It looks even worse now that I see it again.”

“It is something you embroidered thinking only of me, so how can it be compared to other gold and treasures? This is my return gift.”

Hwi took the tips of Yoonso’s fingers and lifted them, then lowered his lips over the arm ring. His lips had not touched his skin, yet his wrist seemed to throb.

Now that he looked at it, the decoration on this arm ring reminded him of Hwi’s sword hilt. Thinking that it might be a much more precious item than he could have imagined, Yoonso touched it carefully.

    “I will treasure it.”

“There is no need to cherish it more than you do yourself.”

Hwi replied nonchalantly and then picked up his cup. Yoonso followed his lead, picked up his own cup, and after meeting Hwi’s eyes, he slowly drank the alcohol.

The first taste of the alcohol was bitter, but the aftertaste was sweet. Unlike its taste, it seemed to be quite strong, as his insides grew warm and tingly. As he was savoring the taste of the alcohol, Hwi asked.

    “How do you feel?”

“How do I feel about what?”

    “Anything.”

Yoonso, receiving Hwi’s gaze, slowly looked back on the path that had led him to this point. It would be a lie to say there was no fear at all. Promising to spend a lifetime with someone was inevitably followed by responsibility, and he had a longer road to travel.

But he was confident that if his partner was Hwi, he could overcome any difficulty. And so, the fear was merely melting away into a joy that was even greater.

“It could not be any better than this.”

At the firm answer filled with heartfelt conviction, Hwi reached out. The tips of his fingers brushed over Yoonso’s neat hairline, then slid down his cheek and touched his lips. The hand that lingered and caressed his lips sent a sudden, thrilling jolt down his spine. Flustered, Yoonso tried to pour more alcohol into his cup, but Hwi snatched the bottle and pushed it far away.

“You are a lightweight, so you should not drink any more.”

“…One more cup should be fine.”

“You would not want to spend your first night drunk.”

The words ‘first night’ made Yoonso’s fingers curl. Not quite knowing, yet feeling like he did, the meaning of the gaze that subtly scanned him, in the moment that he looked at Hwi with trembling eyes, filled with longing, Hwi tilted his head.

Yoonso sensed what was about to happen and closed his eyes.

As their lips met and pressed together firmly, a tender warmth spread. Hwi gently and slowly took Yoonso’s lips, alternating between the top and bottom. A series of wet sounds rang out, making the fine hairs on his skin stand on end.

Hwi supported the nape of Yoonso’s neck with his hand and tilted his head a little more. At the same time, the tip of his tongue parted Yoonso’s lips and entered, tickling the body of his tongue. Yoonso wrapped his arms around Hwi and opened his mouth wider so that he could come deeper inside him.

The sweet and bitter scent of alcohol flowed into his nostrils. Everywhere Hwi’s touched became thoroughly soaked with pleasure, and an indescribable ecstasy seeped in. It was a completely different kiss than before. The more Hwi licked the flesh inside his mouth and wrapped around his tongue, the more his lower abdomen tightened and the inside of his thighs hardened.

He conquered the inside of Yoonso with great skill. Yoonso, barely managing to breathe, accepted Hwi, then moved clumsily, remembering how he had sucked on the sweets. At that, Hwi would pause for a moment, then plunder Yoonso’s saliva and breath even more fiercely.

    “Eumm…”

An unfamiliar nasal sound escaped through his nose. He could feel his penis, which had been throbbing in his groin, stand up hard, and Yoonso shifted his legs restlessly. At that moment, Hwi’s hand gripping the nape of Yoonso’s neck tightened, and he lifted Yoonso up in a flash.

Yoonso hurriedly wrapped his legs around Hwi’s waist. Hwi strode to the bed, continuously thrusting into Yoonso’s soft flesh. Unlike the rough kiss, he carefully laid Yoonso down on the bed and let his tongue, which had formed a hard tip, slide deep inside.

Saliva went down his throat with gulping sounds, and he felt breathless. Without realizing it, Yoonso swayed his hips, rubbing his crotch against Hwi’s leg, then became aware of his own state and, dumbfounded, pushed Hwi away. However, Hwi grabbed Yoonso’s hands, pressed them down onto the bed, and licked every corner of Yoonso’s mouth to his heart’s content.

    “Heugh, uht.”

His penis, which had become stiff at some point, was clamoring inside his undergarments, and his waist twisted. When Yoonso could not hold back and bit down weakly on the body of Hwi’s tongue, Hwi finally pulled his head back.

Their ragged breaths crossed. The man’s eyes, engulfed in lust, had grown frighteningly dark as he glared down at Yoonso. Yoonso gasped for breath through his swollen lips and then shrank his shoulders. Hwi lifted one corner of his mouth as if smiling slightly and then let it drop, then brought his hand to the collar of Yoonso’s robe.

    “Wait a moment…!”

Yoonso quickly grabbed Hwi’s hand and looked around with what seemed like frightened eyes.

    “It is too, bright…”

Although it was late afternoon, the sun had not yet set for it to be called a wedding night. How could he take off his clothes when the light seeping in from the window was brighter than the lit wedding candles?

Hwi let out a long breath as if suppressing something, then lifted his fingers and tickled Yoonso’s cheek. Unlike the affectionate touch, clear lust was flickering in his dark eyes.

“The night is short, so how can I wait for the darkness?”
