What Cha Dogyeong meant was that he wanted to create a date atmosphere, but he didn’t know where to go with a man.

What came to mind then was the photo he had set as his wallpaper, taken at an amusement park, and Sejun’s casual answer that he didn’t really dislike amusement parks.

That was how their first date ended up being at an amusement park.

Even someone like Cha Dogyeong, who seemed skilled at everything, had apparently struggled to pick a date spot for Seo Sejun.

So this really was a date.

Sejun had tried not to be conscious of it, but no matter how he looked at it, even upside down, it was still a date.

Sejun didn’t know what expression to make as he felt a ticklish sensation, as it someone was tickling his heart with a feather.

As the entry began, and everyone was scrambling to shorten the line, the two men, unfamiliar with the amusement park, just stared blankly at the scene before finally making a classic choice.

    The Viking.

They were both too big to ride a carousel, and it would’ve been far too embarrassing. There were still too many things they had to overcome to handle that kind of sweetness.

But because it was a traditional favorite, the Viking line was long.

They had misjudged the timing, and even though it was a weekday, the amusement park was crowded.

As Cha Dogyeong looked at the long line, he noticed another line in front of a red panel that looked different from the regular one and said, “Ah.”

“Come to think of it, I bought that.”

    “Bought what?”

“The Super Pass. It lets you skip the line.”

“They sell things like that now?”

Skip the line? Then wouldn’t everyone buy one? Sejun checked on his phone and saw that the Super Pass price wasn’t cheap.

Come to think of it, Cha Dogyeong had also paid for the park tickets, so he’d ended up paying for the Super Pass too.

Of course, no matter how expensive it was, it wouldn’t even scratch the assets of someone who earned his money by risking his life as a hunter, but it still bothered Sejun.

    “I’ll buy the food then.”

When Sejun took out his card and waved it, Cha Dogyeong laughed.

    “Do that.”

The only problem was that even the Super Pass line was quite long because there were so many people.

It was still much better than the normal line, where they would’ve waited one or two hours, but they couldn’t completely avoid waiting.

And one smaller problem was that the Viking had two different lines.

The middle seats and the end seats. You had to choose whether to sit in the middle or the end.

In short, one line was for the timid and one for the brave.

“What do you want to do?”

Cha Dogyeong gave Sejun the choice, looking unconcerned.

“If you’re scared, we can go for the middle.”

Sejun scoffed as if it were ridiculous.

“Who’s scared? I’m not scared at all.”

    “Really?”

Dogyeong tilted his head. He didn’t think Seo Sejun looked like the type to handle rides well, but that must’ve only applied to haunted houses, because Sejun headed straight for the end-seat line without hesitation.

Well, just because that side was timid didn’t mean this side had to be.

And even if Sejun wasn’t a physically strong hunter, he was still S-rank, so it wasn’t like a simple amusement ride could scare him.

Admitting he had underestimated Sejun, Dogyeong followed behind him toward the end line.

Thanks to the Super Pass, their turn came quickly.

Two women, seemingly friends, sat next t o Dogyeong and Sejun. They kept glancing at them. The people sitting in front of them also shrugged their shoulders, seemingly unsure of what to do or how to turn around.

The people sitting at the end of the opposite row were taking pictures of the two of them, perhaps because the distance was far and they were feeling shameless.

Dogyeong, who was used to such things, looked at Sejun without paying attention to them, but soon after, he felt a smile appear on his lips without him knowing.

    “Seo Sejun.”

    “Yes.”

The voice that answered was calm. But Dogyeong’s eyes were looking at something else. He suppressed a smile and spoke.

“Easy there. You’ll break the safety bar.”

    “Ah.”

Sejun glanced down at his own hands clutching the bar. His knuckles were white from how tightly he was holding it.

    Ah, damn it. So embarrassing.

    His ears turned bright red.

Dogyeong looked at those red ears and spoke.

“Even if the Viking shatters, you’d still live. What’s so scary?”

    “I wasn’t scared, okay? I just… my hands tensed up a little, that’s all.”

    “Uh-huh…”

Sejun felt annoyed when Dogyeong didn’t seem to believe him at all. Watching him turn his head away, Dogyeong smiled.

    “Seo Sejun.”

    “What!”

“Do you want me to hold your hand?”

    “Do you wanna die?”

The other person sitting next to them let out a “Pfft”. The friend next to them pok ed his side and said, “Hey, hey.” Unfortunately, the hunters’ ears were too good.

Sejun’s ears turned red again, even darker than before.

    “Fuck.”

Sejun clicked his tongue and kicked Dogyeong’s foot. It didn’t hurt at all, and it didn’t annoy him either, so it felt like he was throwing a tantrum.

    “…..”

Dogyeong stared at Sejun’s ear. Because his skin was pale, the red stood out.

The moment Dogyeong’s gaze became serious, almost sticky, the Viking began to move.

To conclude, Sejun didn’t actually break the safety bar. He almost did, but Dogyeong quickly slipped his own hand in place of the bar, which prevented property damage.

    “See, that was nothing!”

Even though he had been clutching Dogyeong’s hand so tightly that his knuckles turned white, Sejun still bragged as if nothing happened, then pointed to a food stand scattered around the amusement park.

    “I want that.”

“You want me to buy it?”

“I told you I’m buying everything to eat today. I’ll go buy it, so just wait in line.”

When Dogyeong turned his head toward the line Sejun pointed at, he clicked his tongue. It was another ride that looked a little intense, a small boat that dropped straight down from a high point, maybe even scarier than the Viking.

Why was he pretending to be brave when he couldn’t even handle rides well? It was cute.

    “I’ll be right back!”

Without a clue about what Dogyeong was thinking, Sejun happily ran off to buy snacks. Dogyeong sighed and went to stand in line for the ride.

Once Sejun disappeared, the smile slowly vanished from Dogyeong’s face.

After Sejun left, the sweet amusement-park atmosphere finally reached him. Feeling uneasy under the stares and murmurs of people around him, Dogyeong pulled his phone from his pocket.

He ignored all the piled-up messages and opened the news. As expected, entertainment reporters had already jumped on the story, and there were plenty of articles.

[‘There’s No Explanation Unless They’re Dating’ — Reports Spread of Cha Dogyeong and Seo Sejun Seen Together at the Amusement Park]

What was that last one? As always, Dogyeong was speechless at the reporters’ skill in picking clickbait titles, and he laughed quietly just as Sejun came back, both hands full of snacks.

“What’s that, what are you looking at?”

    “Nothing.”

Dogyeong hid the screen. He didn’t want to ruin Sejun’s good mood. Sejun would find out about it later anyway, but Dogyeong hoped it would be after the day was over.

It wasn’t unexpected, and maybe Sejun already had some idea it would happen.

    “White chocolate cinnamon churros.”

As Sejun said the name of what he’d bought, Dogyeong watched his cheerful smile and changed his mind.

Maybe he had no idea at all. Maybe he’d freak out when he saw the news.

    “That name’s long.”

Dogyeong, hiding his thoughts again, reacted simply and took one churro from Sejun’s hand, putting it in his mouth. True to its name, it was incredibly sweet.

    “They didn’t have lemon flavor.”

Sejun said that as he put one into his mouth. Unlike Dogyeong, whose face twisted from the sweetness that almost stung his tongue, Sejun ate with an expression so happy it looked like he might die from how good it was.

Dogyeong noted another small fact about what Sejun liked, then pointed out one mistake.

“Seo Sejun, I think you’re mistaken. I don’t only like lemon flavor.”

    “Then what do you like?”

    Dogyeong looked directly at Sejun.

Whether he was being watched or not, Sejun didn’t care and kept eating the churros enthusiastically.

    What did he like?

Suddenly, Dogyeong remembered the time Sejun had drunk his lemonade and kissed him, and how that kiss had tasted of lemon.

What would Seo Sejun taste like now?

Dogyeong looked around discreetly. There were so many people, and since both of them drew attention wherever they went, dozens of eyes followed them no matter the place.
