The Obsessive Young Master and His Little Attendant (Part 1)

Ning Shu followed behind this body’s father, lifting his head to look at the enormous villa before them, along with the private courtyard. It was the first time he had truly witnessed the grandeur of the wealthy.

Before his death, the Ning family had been nothing more than nouveau riche, unable to gain any real standing in high society. His mother and father, desperate to flaunt their status, were always dripping in gold and jewels, buying only the most expensive things. Yet they never realized that everyone secretly mocked their family behind their backs.

Thinking of the past, Ning Shu’s mind drifted off for a moment.

    He had already died.

But he did not want to die. He wanted revenge.

And the so-called murderer was his own younger brother.

    How absurd it all was.

People always said that twins were the closest people in the world to one another, bound together from the very moment of birth. Yet to Ning Xi, he was nothing more than an enemy. They had come into this world together, from the same womb, in the same breath. He was the elder brother, and Ning Xi the younger.

Ning Xi was weak and frequently ill. Their parents often blamed Ning Shu for stealing the nutrients that should have belonged to his brother. Over time, Ning Shu also began to believe it, convinced that he had taken away the health that should have been Ning Xi’s.

So, from childhood to adulthood, Ning Shu always gave way to Ning Xi. The same applied to their parents, who took Ning Xi’s side no matter what. When Ning Xi made mistakes, sometimes he did not even need to frame anyone. Their parents automatically believed Ning Shu was the culprit.

He never imagined Ning Xi would lay a deadly hand on him, much less that when their parents learned the truth, their first instinct was not to confront it, but to bury it, quietly and completely, for Ning Xi’s sake.

Ning Shu’s face turned a little pale. A voice called out, pulling him back to the moment.

    He turned.

This body’s father asked with concern, “Xiao Shu, what’s wrong?”

Ning Shu shook his head. “It’s nothing, Dad.”

Now that he had Ling Ling1“零零” literally means “zero zero”., as long as he completed the missions, he would have his life back.

When that time came, he would reclaim everything that was owed to him.

The Gu family’s butler had to resign because his wife developed Alzheimer’s. Ning Shu’s father happened to get lucky and was chosen to fill the position. Ning Shu’s mission target was also the Gu family’s young master, Gu Chen.

When Ling Ling first approached him, it told him that if he could raise the male gods’ affection value high enough, he would be able to return to life in his original world.

Ning Shu blinked, a trace of confusion in his eyes. “Affection value? What’s that?”

Ling Ling replied, “It’s how much the male gods like you. Once it reaches a hundred, the mission is complete.”

Ning Shu asked innocently, “Does that mean… we just have to be good friends?”

Ling Ling fell silent for a moment before answering, “…I suppose so. But you must remember, never let the affection go too high.”

Ning Shu tilted his head like a curious child. “Why?”

Ling Ling answered. “If you do, philosophical things will start happening. You’re still pure, no need to understand that yet~”

Ning Shu did not understand, but since Ling Ling refused to explain, he did not ask further.

Still, he thought quietly to himself, Wasn’t philosophy supposed to be good?

If Ling Ling knew what Ning Shu was thinking, it would definitely panic and shake its head desperately. ‘No, no, that is not it at all! Host, calm down!’

The old butler explained a few matters, and Ning Shu’s father took notes attentively, nodding as he listened.

Ning Shu glanced around the Gu family’s villa. Even the ground floor alone was already lavish beyond measure, not to mention the sweeping spiral staircase leading upward.

At that moment, the old butler, who had been speaking with Ning Shu’s father, smiled slightly. “The young master should be returning now.”

He finished speaking and walked toward the entrance.

    He bent slightly in greeting.

    Ning Shu looked over.

A boy in a Western-style school uniform walked in, his features refined and noble. His phoenix-shaped eyes carried an indescribable depth, and every line of his face was exquisitely handsome. In every movement, he carried an effortless elegance, as though it were woven into his very nature.
