Xu Ran had been giving Pan Hao the cold shoulder for a week. Every day, they saw each other in the dorm, heads down, eyes averted. Xu Ran didn’t say a word to him.

Which was strange, considering how talkative he normally was.

Pan Hao had never been good at coaxing anyone. Threats came easier to him than sweet talk. The first few days, he tried to talk stiffly to Xu Ran, but the guy didn’t even glance at him. He’d chat away with other people about anything and everything, yet wouldn’t spare Pan Hao a single look. It was a blatant snub.

Eventually, it became mutual silence. Neither of them spoke to the other at all.

It had all started one morning. A completely ordinary morning. The only thing different was the weather. After days of gloom, the sun finally broke through the clouds. Xu Ran was in a good mood and jumped all over Pan Hao, clingy and horny as hell.

He’d been pushing it lately. Xu Ran had absolutely no self-control, and Pan Hao had ended up indulging with him. They’d been glued to each other in the dark dorm, tangled up, breathing heavily. At one point, Pan Hao had growled into his ear, “Are you some kind of reincarnated fox?” Xu Ran had moaned back, “Mm… a fox in heat…”

That morning, Xu Ran had crawled into Pan Hao’s bed again, grinning. “I had a dream just now…”

Pan Hao lazily pulled him into his arms and mumbled, “What dream?”

“I dreamt I really turned into a fox. You were a sickly scholar who was dying from some illness. Your family wouldn’t give up on you, kept bringing you famous doctors. But you were hopeless, so you wandered into my territory to kill yourself…”

Pan Hao didn’t react much. “Then what?”

“Then you met me, the fox spirit… and I saved your life.”

    “How?”

“I let you absorb my… essence.” Xu Ran’s voice got a little guilty at that.

Pan Hao cracked one eye open. “Who absorbed whose essence?”

Xu Ran shrank back. “You… I mean, you absorbed mine.”

    Pan Hao just chuckled. “Heh.”

No need to explain what happened after that. Xu Ran was bouncing on Pan Hao’s cock, ass clenching tight around the thick shaft. Pan Hao asked again, “Who’s absorbing whose essence?”

Xu Ran stubbornly replied, “You’re absorbing mine.”

Pan Hao’s fingers dug into his flesh hard. Xu Ran screamed inside his head, Yeah, go ahead, be rougher. Outwardly, he whimpered pathetically.

Pan Hao flipped him onto the bed, adjusted his position. Xu Ran suddenly recalled the dream. The weak-looking scholar pinning him down, ramming that thick cock into his fox body over and over.

That little ember in his chest burned hotter, threatening to consume everything. Just as things reached a fever pitch, a phone rang.

Xu Ran instantly knew it wasn’t his. He wrapped his arms and legs around Pan Hao’s waist, clearly refusing to let him go.

But for once, Pan Hao actually stopped. He grabbed the phone from the pillow, glanced at the screen, and his expression shifted.

Xu Ran was right in the middle of it, unbearably turned on. He kept urging Pan Hao to continue, but instead, the man clamped a hand over his mouth and answered the call.

Xu Ran didn’t pay attention to what was said. Pan Hao sounded calm, speaking evenly while slowly resuming his thrusts. They were slower now, but the act of being muffled, unable to moan, added a new kind of thrill. Xu Ran realized he was becoming more and more submissive.

But the ending caught him off guard. Pan Hao finished quickly without cumming inside. He told Xu Ran he was stepping out and got up to clean himself. Five minutes later, he was gone.

Xu Ran lay there on the bed. “What the actual fuck?”

He couldn’t believe it. Pan Hao had just pulled out and left. No explanation. No finish. Just… gone.

Xu Ran didn’t ask what the call was about. In relationships, giving your partner space was important. So he kept it in. But that didn’t mean he’d let it go.

Especially since Pan Hao never brought it up again. The silence between them grew thicker.

Xu Ran had a habit of spinning whole stories in his head, but this time he didn’t have the energy. All he wanted was to stay busy enough to stop thinking about that bastard.

He started visiting every room on their floor. One day it was cards, another day it was gaming. Anything to kill time until lights-out. Every night, he returned to the dorm hoping to find Pan Hao waiting. But every time he opened the door, he either saw Pan Hao gaming, sleeping, or not there at all.

With each day, his heart grew colder.

And it felt like, without a single word, the two of them were dragging their relationship closer to its end.

Pan Hao really didn’t know how to face Xu Ran. That morning, the call he’d picked up mid-fuck was from someone he used to be involved with back in high school. Not that you could even call it a real relationship. Back then, everything was confusing. They were just starting to understand their own sexuality. The connection felt like kindred spirits more than anything. It was all hazy and fleeting.

That guy’s grades started slipping, his parents got stricter, and then one day he just transferred to another school. Whatever was between them ended without closure.

Pan Hao had actually been a little heartbroken. It felt like he’d lost someone who truly understood him.

So when that guy suddenly called him early in the morning, he tensed up. The guy didn’t say much, just: “Long time no see. I’m at the station. My wallet got stolen, and I didn’t know who else to call. Someone gave me your number…”

Knowing his personality, Pan Hao couldn’t bring himself to say no. He had no idea what that guy might do if he refused. So he agreed, albeit reluctantly.

But by the time he got to the station, he already regretted it. This was the modern world. Who the hell couldn’t survive with just a phone? It was obvious the guy just wanted to stir up some old drama.

After helping him get home, Pan Hao tried to leave. But the guy stopped him and said, “My parents emigrated. I came back alone for break. No one’s home.”

It didn’t take a genius to get the hint.

Pan Hao shut it down immediately. “I’ve got a boyfriend. Don’t call me again.”

The problem was, he had no idea how to explain all this to Xu Ran. If that brat found out he went to meet an ex, it would be a total disaster. He tried making up a few excuses, but he was a terrible liar. Xu Ran saw through them all, and the awkwardness from that was even worse than silence.

Pan Hao decided to wait until Xu Ran cooled off.

But from the looks of it… Xu Ran had cooled a little too much.

Somehow, Xu Ran had found out who he went to see. In the dead of winter, he laid out a blanket on the floor and sat there, waiting. When Pan Hao walked in and saw him, Xu Ran sneered, “Nice. Off to visit your ex.”

Pan Hao frowned at the sight. “Get up. The floor’s cold.”

Xu Ran refused. But with the strength difference between them, Pan Hao lifted him like a kitten and plopped him onto a chair.

Xu Ran stood on the chair, now looking down on him. First thought: the air up here’s pretty nice. Second thought: so this is what Pan Hao looks like from above.

“You’re gonna say, ‘Let me explain,’ right?”

“I don’t want to hear it! I don’t want to hear it!!” Xu Ran had already rehearsed the scene in his head.

But Pan Hao didn’t follow the script. He said calmly, “Yeah. I did.”

That threw Xu Ran off. “Then why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

“I didn’t want you to get mad.”

Xu Ran crossed his arms and looked at him through narrowed eyes. “And not telling me was gonna stop that?”

From his posture and tone, it was obvious that his anger had mostly passed. Pan Hao felt the tension in his chest finally ease. He hugged Xu Ran’s legs.

Xu Ran snapped, “It’s too late to suck up now!”

But Pan Hao picked him up from the chair. Xu Ran slid down against him, arms around his neck. He tried to look fierce. “Spill it. What exactly did you two do?”

“Nothing. Just want to do you,” Pan Hao said and kissed him.

Xu Ran tried to dodge but gave up after a few failed attempts, letting him kiss all he wanted.

Even as Pan Hao carried him to the bed, Xu Ran still protested half-heartedly. “I’m telling you, this isn’t over—”

“Then we’ll fuck until it is.”
