    Author’s Note:

Let me clarify that this story won’t primarily focus on political reforms and the like. After all, the dominant protagonist and recessive protagonist only have one lifetime, a fleeting moment in the vast river of history. We will concentrate on their current feelings, primarily due to the author’s limitations; a misstep might ruin the style, so please refrain from making comments. This is just a digital side dish for everyone to enjoy.

Regarding the concept of a state without a ruler, scholars during the Wei-Jin period already proposed it. For ancient people to think about these ideas is not surprising; they’ve just been suppressed all along.

“The Treatise on No Ruler” is a discourse by Bao Jingyan of the Eastern Jin Dynasty regarding a state without a ruler. In the Ming-Qing era, scholars like Huang Zongxi and Tang Zhen wrote about similar ideas. You can search for them online, I won’t provide detailed references.
