Chapter 141 – Extra 2 – Master Sun’s Marvelous Adventure 2
by Salted FishAfter hanging up the phone, Wei Yang stretched lazily. “Looks like our vacation is ending early. Whatever that thing is, it’s not something that old guy can handle…”
It’s a pity that their reunion after a long separation felt too short-lived, and before he could fully savor it, they were being pulled out of their honeymoon phase.
Zhang Xiuqi didn’t respond, but he placed his hand on Wei Yang’s bare back, pulling him into his embrace. It seemed like Zhang Xiuqi had developed a clingy syndrome these past two days, as if he couldn’t feel at ease without holding Wei Yang close. However, this was exactly what Wei Yang needed at the moment. The warm, calloused palm kneaded the small of his back, easing some of the lingering soreness and igniting a spark of warmth. Caught between the kneading and the comfort, Wei Yang let out a soft moan and rested his head on Zhang Xiuqi’s shoulder.
“We should really start taking on some jobs. With more money, we could buy another house and give Lao Ye his own room so we don’t have to sneak around like thieves at night. Plus, too many people know we live here, and that’s not ideal…” Wei Yang’s voice trailed off, sounding like a contented cat that had been petted, almost purring.
Zhang Xiuqi paused for a moment and then said seriously, “I have money. A lot of money.”
Wei Yang chuckled. “A black card? I’ve been curious about that for a while. Is it really an authentic American black card? Can it be used in domestic banks?”
Zhang Xiuqi’s voice carried a hint of amusement. “Yes, it can. And I have more than one card.”
Wei Yang couldn’t help but ask, “Where did all this come from? Is it from the Longhu Mountain’s assets? Or from Sanliao Village…”
“My mother left it to me, and my uncle gave me some. My father didn’t take on jobs, so he didn’t leave much.” Zhang Xiuqi’s voice softened slightly, as if reminiscing. “My uncle said that the techniques of Sanliao shouldn’t be used lightly. If used, they must bring great profit, especially for the wealthy and powerful. Otherwise, it could lead to underestimation and bring disaster to both parties. That’s why the feng shui masters of Sanliao are always wealthy, and Longhu Mountain might be even more so.”
Wei Yang fell silent for a moment before letting out a soft laugh. “But you want to be like your father, a Celestial Master who doesn’t take on jobs, don’t you?”
Though it was a question, there was a certainty in his tone. Wei Yang was a quasi-master in the art of reading people, and he knew his lover well.
“Mm,” Zhang Xiuqi hummed softly. “When I was young, I always traveled with my father. Poor people didn’t have money, and he didn’t do it for the money.”
A truly classical Celestial Master from Longhu Mountain, with a chivalrous spirit, like the ones from legends. Although Wei Yang had recently seen Zhang Huaiyan’s body, that was just a shell, not the living man. The true image of Master Zhang was already blurred in Wei Yang’s memory, but the man who had won the heart of Zhang Xiuqi’s mother and made Master Zeng sacrifice half his province must have had his own unique charm. His Brother Qi deeply admired his father.
With a soft chuckle, Wei Yang nuzzled Zhang Xiuqi’s neck. “Alright, we’ll search online for places with monsters and go slay them when we’re free. As for daily life, I’ll handle the money. We can’t just spend your uncle’s money. This time, I’ll take care of you!”
After declaring this confidently, Wei Yang suddenly hesitated and added, “Oh, by the way, Brother Qi, you don’t mind the shady business, do you…”
Zhang Xiuqi laughed, a genuine, resonant laugh that shook his chest. “No issue. The Way of the Celestial Masters originated from the Way of the Five Pecks of Rice, the ancestor of all shady businesses. However, in Longhu Mountain, the shady and legitimate practices are referred to as external and internal methods. External methods are all about rituals, chanting scriptures, and explaining metaphysics—things performed for show.”
Hearing this, Wei Yang’s heart settled, and he grew increasingly happy. The meaning was clear: Zhang Xiuqi didn’t mind him taking on tasks from Jieshui Studio. He had money and different ideals, but he was still willing to integrate into Wei Yang’s life.
A warm feeling surged in Wei Yang’s chest, and he grinned broadly, pulling Zhang Xiuqi’s head closer and planting a firm kiss on his lips. “Old Sun is going to be thrilled…”
However, at that very moment, Sun Chengfeng was far from happy.
Upon entering the room, he realized there were very few people in the meeting room. Aside from Director Ling and the staff from Shuirui Group, only Guo Hongtu was present. Even Chief Chang had excused himself. The arrangement was meticulous, avoiding potential awkwardness and ensuring Sun Chengfeng was under close surveillance, making it difficult for him to pull any tricks.
Swallowing hard, Sun Chengfeng walked up with a solemn expression and nodded to Director Ling. “Sorry to keep you waiting. Shall we begin?”
With that, he effectively shut Guo Hongtu’s mocking words before they could be spoken. Master Guo knew full well that this old charlatan had no real skills and had likely gone to prepare or seek help during his earlier “bathroom break.” But he hadn’t expected Sun Chengfeng to return so quickly and dive right into the task without hesitation. Guo Hongtu, who had seen his fair share of the world, couldn’t even figure out the origin of this black stone, let alone someone like Sun Chengfeng, who came from an unorthodox background.
However, to expose Sun Chengfeng, he needed to wait for the latter to show his hand. Guo Hongtu watched impassively as Sun Chengfeng approached the small table, noticing how the old man circled it with his butt sticking out, not daring to touch the stone. Guo Hongtu sneered, “What, can you discern what this is just by looking at it?”
Sun Chengfeng’s heart was pounding, and he wished he could glue his eyes to the black stone. After circling the table twice, carefully observing the stone’s surface and its cross-section, he confirmed that it wasn’t petrified wood. Just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he heard Guo Hongtu’s sarcastic remark. He straightened up and smirked contemptuously, “I don’t have the guts to touch something so strange and unknown. Don’t you know, Master Guo, that Chang Chu, Nightmare Wood, and Ghost Yin Wood are all black? They’re all extremely yin and malevolent.”
This quick retort left Guo Hongtu speechless. Director Ling, however, frowned and quickly asked, “So this thing can’t be touched casually? Master Sun, have you figured out what it is?”
“Not yet,” Sun Chengfeng replied, his old heart finally settling after putting Guo Hongtu in his place. He leisurely stroked his long white beard and said, “But we can test it. Could you ask someone to close the curtains in the room?”
This request clearly caught Director Ling off guard, but he quickly recovered and had someone do as asked. Guo Hongtu, on the other hand, glared at Sun Chengfeng, waiting to see what trick he would pull. Under such scrutiny, Sun Chengfeng remained calm and slowly pulled out a feng shui compass from his pocket. It was a standard hand-held compass, palm-sized, with a Fuxi diagram on the outer ring and only three narrow inner rings. He had bought it at the Ghost Market for 20,000 yuan years ago. Whether it was genuine or not was unclear, but it certainly looked antique and high-class.
However, since both men in front of him were knowledgeable, Sun Chengfeng didn’t dare to exaggerate. He simply held the compass with one hand and moved it closer to the black stone.
Guo Hongtu frowned at this. Nowadays, few feng shui masters truly knew how to use a compass to determine auspiciousness, let alone for such a small stone. Moreover, Director Ling had already conducted tests, and it seemed the stone had some magnetic properties. If Sun Chengfeng managed to pull off a “sinking needle” or “floating needle” trick, wouldn’t that give him an easy win?
Thinking this, Guo Hongtu’s expression darkened. “Master Sun, such tricks are meaningless, aren’t they? The stone already has magnetic properties. Are you going to explain the compass’s movements as evidence?”
However, upon hearing this, Sun Chengfeng’s eyes widened. The stone had magnetic properties? But the needle on his compass hadn’t moved at all, showing no signs of being attracted by magnetism. Could this be what Ah Yang had called “yin-yang isolation”?
Feeling more confident, Sun Chengfeng snorted and held the compass up to Director Ling, his gaze fixed on Guo Hongtu. “Do you even know how to read a compass, Master Guo? Director Ling, please take a look at the needle.”
As a feng shui enthusiast, Director Ling immediately noticed that the compass needle wasn’t moving. But he had previously tested the stone and confirmed it had magnetic properties. What was going on?
Seeing Director Ling’s puzzled expression, Guo Hongtu quickly stepped forward. Upon seeing the compass, he was also startled. However, he reacted swiftly and said, “This compass must have been tampered with, right?”
Sun Chengfeng, now feeling invincible, sneered, “Do you not only lack knowledge but also not carry a compass with you? If you don’t trust mine, why don’t you take out your own and test it?”
Guo Hongtu hadn’t expected this and was momentarily flustered. But seeing Sun Chengfeng’s smug expression, he gritted his teeth and pulled out his own compass. However, no matter how he tested it, the result was the same as Sun Chengfeng’s. Now, his gaze towards the stone changed. Had Director Ling falsified the test results?
In his panic, Master Guo failed to hide his expression. But Sun Chengfeng and Director Ling were both sharp-eyed and immediately noticed his doubt. Director Ling’s expression turned sour. So, something as simple as testing with a compass could clarify the situation, but this Guo fellow hadn’t even thought of it and instead questioned his employer. What kind of professional was he?
Sun Chengfeng, on the other hand, chuckled. “If you think there’s a problem, why don’t you take apart your compass, remove the needle, and stick it on the stone to see if it’s magnetic?”
Guo Hongtu’s face stiffened. Asking a feng shui master to dismantle their compass was already a slap in the face, but he truly couldn’t explain the current situation. Director Ling, however, pulled out a pen from his pocket and handed it to Guo Hongtu, saying coldly, “Master Guo, if you really don’t believe it, use this pen to test if the stone is magnetic!”
Now, Guo Hongtu’s face turned red with embarrassment. He coughed and said, “Perhaps it’s not the compass. But why close the curtains? Maybe there’s something wrong with this place…”
Haha, closing the curtains was just a spur-of-the-moment decision to show off, but now that Guo Hongtu had fallen into the trap, Sun Chengfeng generously waved his hand. “Go ahead and open them. Light won’t make a difference. I was just worried this thing might be some other evil object, so I used the light-blocking method. But now it seems light doesn’t matter. However, given what you’ve said, Master Guo, I take it you still don’t know what this stone is, do you?”
This question was truly cutting. Master Guo’s face turned from red to white, then from white to green, but he still couldn’t muster a response. Sun Chengfeng inwardly cheered for himself and struggled to keep a straight face. Calmly, he turned to Director Ling and asked, “Director Ling, is it convenient to discuss this in front of Master Guo?”
The way he emphasized “Master” was infuriating, but Director Ling was too preoccupied to care. He smiled apologetically at Guo Hongtu and said, “Master Guo, this is a matter of expertise. It’s purely a misunderstanding, and I hope you’ll forgive us.”
This was essentially asking Guo Hongtu to leave! Guo Hongtu’s thin hand trembled for a few seconds before he gritted his teeth and said, “Tiande Culture is no match for Jieshui Studio. From now on, we’ll steer clear of you!”
To say this in front of Director Ling was the ultimate admission of defeat, but it showed he had the guts to own up to it. Sun Chengfeng chuckled, “Master Guo, I’m honored.”
With those words, Guo Hongtu had no choice but to leave. He stuffed his compass back into his pocket and strode out. Director Ling, however, paid no attention to the defeated man and instead respectfully asked Sun Chengfeng, “Master Sun, I’ve truly underestimated you. I sincerely apologize. Please enlighten me, what exactly is this thing?”
Having won a major victory, Sun Chengfeng was practically floating. He stroked his beard with an air of profound wisdom and said, “What isolates yin and yang is the Yang Bi, a rare and divine object! I was just about to ask, Director Ling, where did you get this?”
“Well…” Director Ling hesitated for a moment before finally admitting, “To be honest, we accidentally discovered a large piece of this stone, and that’s what caused all this trouble…”

That afternoon, when Wei Yang and Zhang Xiuqi arrived at Jieshui Studio, Sun Chengfeng greeted them with a wide, ingratiating smile. Rubbing his hands together, he said, “Hehehe, Ah Yang, Little Celestial Master, we really owe you this time. Things couldn’t have gone smoother. That old dog Guo Hongtu, ha! Seeing him like that, I’d gladly give up two years of my life! Tiande won’t dare mess with us anymore, but we shouldn’t stoop to their level. We need to take the high road!”
“Hold on!” Wei Yang laughed and waved his hand, cutting Sun Chengfeng off. “Uncle Sun, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. What’s the situation with Shuirui Group?”
“Ah!” Sun Chengfeng’s expression turned serious. “This might be a big deal. That stone really seems to be the Yang Bi you mentioned. Director Ling’s group is unlucky. They recently took on a tourism development project in a remote area and discovered this thing in a valley. It’s said to be half a person’s height. They thought it was some kind of mineral deposit and tried to extract it, but as soon as they started construction, things went wrong…”
Before he could finish, both Wei Yang and Zhang Xiuqi’s expressions changed. Wei Yang immediately asked, “Half a person’s height? They found a Yang Bi that big? Was it in Sichuan or Chongqing?”
Sun Chengfeng was stunned. “How did you guess? It’s near Wushan County, in a scenic development area. They’re planning to connect it to the Shennongjia tourism route, but then they ran into this strange thing.”
Wei Yang’s heart sank, and he let out a bitter laugh. “It’s like finding something after searching high and low. Uncle Sun, tell us the details.”
