This is a beginner’s guide for adventurers. Honestly, I was too lazy to put this together, but I did it anyway. Everyone already knows Sword of God is a huge game. What I’m covering here is really, really for total noobs, just take it as a quick reference.
First up is the story. Let’s be real, skip-happy bastards probably started the game without reading a single bit of lore, so I’ll keep this part short.
When you first start the game, a bunch of NPCs will start squawking “Adventurer! Adventurer!” at you like parrots. That means you are now an adventurer.
Why did you start this journey?
In Sword of God, there are seven kingdoms. These were originally all part of a big empire called the Reto Empire. But for a bunch of reasons (blah blah lore stuff), the Reto Empire got wrecked. Now there are seven kingdoms.
Your goal is to find fragments of a sword called Aurareto, a national treasure infused with the power of the first emperor, some dude named Shane or Sane or whatever. If you gather all seven fragments, the kingdoms might reunite (no one’s sure, it’s just a player theory). Anyway, you are the last direct heir to the ruined Reto Empire.
That’s all you need to know about the story.
When you first start out, you’re ridiculously weak. Do the Guide Quests and Main Quests, they’ll give you gear and EXP. Your first goal is to level up. How do you level up?
1. Do Daily Quests
2. Do Weekly Quests
3. Kill monsters
4. Do other random quests
That’s basically all beginners need to focus on. Just doing these four things regularly will get your EXP piling up fast.
The most important thing in SoG is consistency. Anyone saying it’s a P2W game is full of crap. Sure, money helps, but it’ll never beat consistency.
If you’ve got both time and money, your progress will skyrocket, that I admit. But for beginners, just focus on steps 1–4 and you’ll hit level 30 in under two weeks, no problem.
As your level goes up, you need to equip items appropriate for that level to actually deal decent damage.
So many idiots don’t get this.
Seeing someone at level 50 still wearing level 20 gear makes me want to pass out and pray to my ancestors.
The easiest server raid, Krunite, starts at level 50. Some people say, “Just gear up when I hit 50 lol,” but if you don’t prep in advance, you’ll be sitting on your hands for days.
So while you’re leveling up to 50, make sure to keep farming and upgrading your gear. Dismantle extras right away to collect materials. Good gear doesn’t build itself, materials add up fast.
That’s it for Beginner Adventurer Guide 1. Honestly, with summer break coming up, we’re gonna see a flood of noobs. So stop asking “how do I do this?” and “how do I do that?”, just shut up and grind steps 1–4 till level 50.
Early game is all about the grind. For real.
Got questions? Drop them in the comments. If you disagree, you’re totally right. I’m too lazy to argue.

Anonymous: This actually makes the game sound boring lol
⤷ Anonymous: LMAO but the story’s actually pretty decent. Do the main quests and you’ll hit 50 in no time anyway. After that it’s weekly raid grind hell
⤷ Anonymous: True. But the author does sound kinda half-assed about it, lol
Anonymous: Guys… should I be dismantling monster drops instead of selling them? ㅠㅠ I sold everything so far…
⤷ Anonymous: Start dismantling now…
⤷ Anonymous: Selling gets you like 1–2 silver. But later when you need materials it’s 1–2 gold, bro. 100 silver = 1 gold. Good luck.
⤷ Anonymous: This is the #1 noob mistake. Pretty sure NGA’s gear system was coded with their feet.
Anonymous: That was the story? Just found out now… I’m… the last royal bloodline?! I’m level 141 and learning this just now…
⤷ Anonymous: LMAOOOO skip-bastard
⤷ Anonymous: Story? What’s that???
⤷ Anonymous: Bro for real, the story’s actually not bad. Give it a chance…
⤷ Anonymous: Vertical skill-grinders make me want to throw hands
Anonymous: Saving this guide
Anonymous: Bookmarked
Anonymous: Marking this for later
Anonymous: Thanks ㅠ
Anonymous: Solid post
⤷ Anonymous: “Solid” you sure about that? lmao

“Oppa!”
Moonhyuk quickly minimized the browser window he’d been reading.
It wasn’t like he was doing anything wrong, but he reacted instinctively, flustered.
“I’m heading out then!”
“Ah, yeah, sure.”
“I made you an iced Americano. Drink it while you work. Fighting!”
“Thanks.”
It was already 10 PM. Moonhyuk’s shift ran from 8 PM to 5 AM.
For two hours, from 8 to 10, he overlapped with Soohui, the evening shift worker.
Though it had been two weeks of seeing her five times a week, Moonhyuk was still awkward around her.
Watching her cheerfully leave through the internet café doors, he sat back down, feeling a bit more at ease now that he was alone.
His gaze fell on the iced Americano she’d made. A shadow flickered across his expression.
What should I do with that…?
Since her first day, Soohui had kindly looked after him, and the iced coffee she made before leaving was part of that.
But Moonhyuk had the palate of a child, he couldn’t stand bitter things.
He’d meant to tell her, but missed the timing once, and now he ended up with an iced Americano every night at 10.
Just then, an iced Americano order came from station 89. Moonhyuk’s face lit up. He grabbed a fresh straw and delivered the drink, then returned to the desk. After glancing around, he opened the fridge and pulled out a chocolate drink.
The boss had said he could take one anytime, but Moonhyuk still texted him out of courtesy and logged it at the desk.
Once the crowd of teenagers cleared out past 10 PM, the cafe became easier to manage. He wiped down keyboards and mice, cleaned up trash. Finally, he sat down and gulped the chocolate drink in one go. The small can crumpled in his large hand.
He brought up the beginner guide he’d been reading earlier. Was every game this complex, or was Sword of God just especially huge? Everything was confusing, leveling, questing, nothing came easy.
He wanted to look up more info, but didn’t even know where to begin.
He was confident researching for school presentations or papers, but game info felt like a whole different world. Maybe that’s why it was harder, he’d spent his life studying at a desk, not gaming. He couldn’t help but marvel at how others seemed to handle it all so effortlessly.
He’d meant to research more, but shook his head and closed the browser.
Now wasn’t the time.
Pulling out his notes and a workbook, Moonhyuk furrowed his brows.
It was a habit of his whenever he concentrated. His thick, straight eyebrows pulled together, then relaxed. Tapping his chin with his mechanical pencil, he opened a workbook of mock test questions.
It was for the tutoring gig he had tomorrow.
During the school year, tutoring alone was enough to cover expenses, but wasting free time during break felt wrong. That’s why he took the internet café night shift. A classmate had recommended it, saying nights were quiet, and the boss was lenient, so it was good for studying. That sealed the deal.
What he hadn’t expected was that this part-time job would bring Sword of God into his life.
He glanced at the clock. 10:20 PM.
After 2 AM, the shop would quiet down even more. Maybe then he could play comfortably.
There were two computers at the desk.
One for shop management, and one for the staff to use freely. Soohui used it sometimes to game or watch movies. But Moonhyuk had only used it for online lectures or schoolwork. Never for anything else. He’d never really needed to.
Funny how life changes. He never imagined he’d one day use it to play games. Once 2 AM hit, he’d check the remaining customers and maybe try starting the game. He switched with the boss at 5 AM. That gave him a couple of hours to play.
The management PC chimed with a new order. Moonhyuk stretched, checked the request, coffee and snacks, and stood up. He ducked his head slightly as he headed to the kitchen.
He was tall, and the hallway was low.
On his first day, he’d smacked his forehead hard. Since then, he always moved cautiously between the kitchen and the desk.
While waiting for the coffee beans to grind, Moonhyuk checked his watch.
Time felt like it was crawling.
