3 a.m. That was the time Knockoff said he’d log on. All the guild members except a few of the night crew had already gone to bed. The guild chat, which had been buzzing earlier with chatter about events, Demon Hunter, and upcoming content, was now quiet.

He said he’d come early if he could. But not only were he was early, Knockoff still hadn’t logged on even past 3 a.m. In the end, Dohee stopped wandering aimlessly around the Deep Beach Field and opened GameTalk.

But strangely enough, Knockoff, who usually replied within five minutes, was completely silent. Dohee let out a soft sigh. Was his part-time job really that busy? Still, if he was too busy to log in, he’d probably have said something.

It hadn’t been that long, but from what Dohee had seen of Knockoff so far, he wasn’t the type to leave someone hanging without a word. If anything, he’d probably send an apologetic message ahead of time, saying sorry for the wait.

Dohee, who had been hunting monsters like a ghost and collecting mutated conch pearls, gave in after a few minutes and opened GameTalk again. Just as he das about to ask when Knockoff would be on, a reply finally came in, perfect timing.

A drunk customer suddenly came into the cafe

They caused a huge scene… ㅠㅡㅠ All the customers left, we had to call the police, it was total chaos…The boss had to rush over too. We just barely finished cleaning everything up

Dohee raised his eyebrows. A drunk customer out of nowhere? Knockoff didn’t even work at a bar, what kind of situation was this? He seemed to have managed to send the message fine, so it probably wasn’t anything too serious. (He did say himself he was tall and built.) Still, that didn’t mean Dohee wasn’t worried.

Normally indifferent, rarely one to fuss over others, Dohee found it surprisingly hard not to care when it came to Knockoff. Was he being scammed again? Was someone bothering him? That was where Dohee’s mind went first. Was this what it felt like to be a parent watching their child near the water or something?

Shaking off the absurd thought, Dohee sent a reply.

?? A drunk guy suddenly showed up at the cafe?

I think he just wandered in after drinking… ㅠㅡㅠ

He was shouting for more booze, saying he’d sleep there… and even pulled out a cigarette inside the store.

I had such a hard time trying to stop him. I’m pretty strong, but you know how people get super strong when they’re drunk… 88

No, it’s not that… the boss just said I could switch shifts early.

No response came back. Dohee made a cup of coffee and lit a cigarette, waiting patiently for Knockoff to log in. About 30 minutes passed. Just before 4 a.m., an alert popped up: Knockoff had finally logged on. He must’ve logged out earlier in the Deep Beach Field for the quest, because when Dohee told him to come over, he just had to switch channels—and their character appeared.

[Party] GOingSupporter187: ㅠㅡㅠ You waited a long time, didn’t you…

[Party] AssaGo: lol nah, I was just doing my own thing

[Party] AssaGo: Did everything wrap up okay?

Dohee opened the avatar quest scroll he had picked up earlier in the evening. Originally, he’d planned to do it with GoingSupporter’s character, but since he was doing it with Knockoff now, he decided to run it on his AssaGo character instead. After all, once you got the avatar, you could transfer it to another character on the same account, so it didn’t matter much.

Even characters who haven’t unlocked these areas due to level restrictions can visit the capitals temporarily for the event.

When you visit the capital Angph of Tandalon, you’ll meet the Couple Avatar Event NPC ‘Rajanin.’ Receive the quest from ‘Rajanin’ and begin your exciting journey to claim your Couple Avatar!

Once you receive the Couple Avatar quest, enter your partner’s username into the ‘Love Snowball’ item, then form a party and visit ‘Rajanin’ together. You won’t be able to progress if you don’t enter a username or aren’t in a party.

Dohee led Knockoff back to the port. A new special airship for capital visits had been opened, allowing low-level characters to access the capitals just for the event. The two of them boarded it and moved side by side to the deck.

Seriously…? Someone not having a computer at home in this day and age? Then again, maybe he lived on his own. That’d explain it. Sometimes students living near campus didn’t bother getting one and just used internet cafes. When Dohee briefly went to college, there were people like that. But having only seen the twins who started out their place with three setups, it was easy to forget.

[Party] AssaGo: Then you usually use a laptop?

Tandalon was set on the northern part of the planet Yubriel, a land known for being cold and snowy.

Dohee sent Knockoff a trade request and offered the item “Luxury Sable Scarf.” He was used to forcing these things onto Knockoff by now. Only after saying thank you five times did Knockoff finally equip the scarf.
