Chapter 20 – Coochie Coochie
by Salted FishChu Yin hungrily lowered his head, dragging his injured right hand as he flopped onto the sofa in his slippers.
He was a proud man. Since he had just said he wouldn’t eat the crab, he absolutely would not!
He couldn’t let Wei Lai laugh at him.
Chu Yin’s stomach growled loudly.
Wei Lai propped his chin on his hand and said, “Darling, let’s order takeout.”
Chu Yin: “Hmph, I’m not hungry at all. As an idol, I must strictly control my mouth!”
Wei Lai: “…Oh. Here, Orunju, have another bite. Ah, so well-behaved!”
If Chu Yin had cat ears, they would have drooped by now. Listening to Orunju’s happy munching, he suddenly tasted the bitterness of losing favor. He closed his eyes and pretended to sleep.
Seeing this, Wei Lai chuckled, grabbed Orunju by the scruff of its neck, and shut it outside the kitchen. “Kitties can’t eat too much crab.”
Orunju blinked its round eyes and licked its lips: “Meow~”
Wei Lai tapped its little nose. “The rest is for the big kitty, okay?”
Wei Lai used the full set of crab tools to meticulously dismantle one crab, arranging it neatly on a plate. There were still over a dozen left, so he just scooped out the roe and mixed it with sauce to make a small bowl of crab roe noodles.
Chu Yin, who hadn’t slept well the night before, was now both hungry and angry. He actually dozed off on the sofa. Wei Lai nudged him. “Chu Yin?”
Chu Yin opened one eye, glanced at Wei Lai, then closed it again. “What?”
Wei Lai said, “Get up and eat.”
Chu Yin grumbled, “I said I’m not hungry.”
As soon as he finished speaking, his stomach let out a thunderous growl, especially loud in the quiet living room.
Chu Yin looked down at his stomach in disbelief, unable to believe it had betrayed him.
Madam Wei let out a tinkling laugh. “Eat up. I can’t let my crybaby go hungry.”
Chu Yin made a show of trying to get up and hide under the blanket to ignore Wei Lai forever, but then he caught a whiff of something irresistibly fragrant.
On the coffee table sat an exquisite black porcelain bowl, piled high with golden crab roe that shimmered like jade, emitting delicate tendrils of steam. Next to it was a small plate with a whole, meticulously peeled crab, and in the middle, a steaming cup of ginger tea.
Chu Yin sniffled, still clinging to his last shred of pride. “I’ll only eat if you feed me.”
Wei Lai was stunned. “Are you incapable of taking care of yourself now?”
Chu Yin pursed his lips. “You fed Big Orange earlier.”
“…What are you, competing with a cat for resources?!”
Wei Lai thought to himself that with Chu Yin acting this spoiled, forget about finding a 1—he’d be lucky to even get a wife.
With that in mind, Wei Lai picked up the bowl, twirled a strand of noodles, and said, “Here, open up.”
Chu Yin had only been joking to save face, never expecting Wei Lai’s bottom line to be so shockingly low. With the noodles already at his lips, there was no reason to refuse. Chu Yin lowered his lashes, pouting as he slurped up the noodles.
After swallowing, Chu Yin suddenly realized something: “Is the camera filming this?”
Wei Lai rolled his eyes. “Duh. Didn’t you notice I’m wearing makeup?”
Chu Yin: “…You scheming Madam.”
