    Chapter Index

This ambiguous, pink-tinged atmosphere lingered like the intertwining threads of rain in the air.

Chu Yin sat quietly in the breakroom reading his script, occasionally stealing glances at Wei Lai like a lovestruck maiden.

He had already memorized his lines, but his mind was too restless to focus.

    Wei Lai’s birthday was approaching.

Chu Yin wanted to throw an extravagant birthday party for Wei Lai. He couldn’t stand this feeling of uncertainty. He planned to drink heavily, using the intoxication as an excuse to confess his feelings to Wei Lai.

If Wei Lai rejected him, he could always claim he was drunk—at least that would preserve some dignity.

What should he say during the confession?

    Should he light candles?

Should he arrange them in a heart shape?

Would he end up falling into the cake like some tragic drama heroine?

Just thinking about it made Chu Yin so nervous that he crumpled the script in his hands.

This was the pink side of things.

In another, decidedly more ‘yellow’ corner, Wei Lai sat at his computer with headphones on, his expression serious and focused—looking every bit the respectable gentleman, though what he was doing was anything but.

Wei Lai had started editing a video.

In his heart, he had made a vow: he was going to create a high-quality, effects-laden, emotionally gripping CP fanvid featuring Chu Yin and himself.

The title had already been decided—“Sensual and Full of Passion: Whispers and Whimpers.”

It would toe the line of censorship, attract more viewers, and most importantly, portray Chu Yin as the top.

    Plan: Success ✔

While collecting clips for the video, Wei Lai realized that although he and Chu Yin didn’t share the screen often, the moments they did were short, sweet, and explosively adorable.

    The Furball Incident—Sharing a Bed.

Wei Lai never stayed the night after hookups. He had a bit of a mysophobia and found sharing a bed with someone unsanitary. But when it came to Chu Yin, he was as steady as a rock—proof that he had always treated Chu Yin differently from the start.

Under the Jacaranda Trees—Heart Skipping a Beat.

On that path lined with blue-purple flowers, Chu Yin had parted the crowd and walked step by step toward him across the petal-strewn ground. To put it cheesily, Chu Yin had walked straight into Wei Lai’s heart—then proceeded to stomp all over it in a wild dance, making it skip beats over and over.

The Happy Match-Up Stage—More Like the “Gay Panic Match-Up”!

At the time, Wei Lai hadn’t noticed, but rewatching the footage now, he picked up on so many highlights. Like how photogenic he actually was, how perky his ass looked, and the intimate number of glances he and Chu Yin had exchanged.

As the saying goes, those on the inside are blind, while bystanders see clearly. Watching their interactions through the lens of a shipper, Wei Lai realized there was no need to scrape for sugar—it was already piling up around him like an avalanche.

    He really liked Chu Yin.

He didn’t know how long this feeling would last, but here and now, Wei Lai was acutely aware: he liked Chu Yin.

And, judging by appearances, Chu Yin seemed to like him too.

Wei Lai’s grip on the mouse tightened. He felt drunk, as if he were walking on clouds.

Having the person he liked return his feelings was something that had never happened in Wei Lai’s romantic history. Just like how physical relationships and emotional connections had never coexisted for him. Wei Lai was good at fucking and pining, but when it came to actual dating, he had no idea what to do.

The window paper had to be pierced eventually, right?

    But how?

First of all, not with his dick.

But if not with his dick, then with what?

Wei Lai was deeply troubled. Despite being both a study god and a cock god, romance was a subject way outside his curriculum.

    Did dating require a confession?

His parents’ lackluster confessions had led to them dredging up old grievances every time they argued even a decade later.

    So, yeah, confessions were important.

And after confessing, could they just jump into bed?

Pfft— What kind of scumbag thinking was that?!

Wei Lai’s thoughts spiraled without any clear resolution. Just as his mind was in turmoil, Chu Yin’s sudden scream snapped him back to reality.

    “MADAM WEI!!!”

Wei Lai was so startled his headphones fell off. He slammed his laptop shut and yelped, “What?! I didn’t do anything!!!”

Chu Yin clung to Wei Lai, pointing at the corner of the room and shrieking, “Spider! Aaaah, a huge spider!”

    Wei Lai: “!!!”

The spider was fat and hairy. One look, and Wei Lai’s soul nearly left his body.

Chu Yin was even worse off, whimpering, “You get rid of it!!!”

Wei Lai’s breathing grew rapid as he instantly transformed into a fragile primate. “…I can’t.”

Chu Yin’s feet tapped anxiously. “Let’s just run!”

Wei Lai: “No! Then who’s gonna kill it? What about our pride?!”

    Chu Yin: “…”

Summoning his courage, Wei Lai declared, “Fine… I’ll smack it with my shoe. One quick whack. Don’t be scared… I’ll take responsibility. I won’t be a scumbag.”

    Chu Yin: “…?”
