ASFSODS 85
by starlightxelWen Chi noticed that Jiang Siheng had been very busy recently. Although they weren’t living together, he felt this way because Jiang Siheng’s responses were getting later and later. At first, Wen Chi thought the man might have work or events, so he casually asked Xiao Pang. Xiao Pang replied that Jiang Siheng hadn’t had any work recently.
Wen Chi felt that Jiang Siheng’s sudden busyness was related to what he had said to him a few nights ago.
The fourth episode of Heart’s Confession 2 was about to start filming. Wen Chi got off the plane and hopped into the car sent by the production team to the filming location. This would be the last episode of the show, and after it, Wen Chi would be done with his first variety show.
The first episode had started at the Heart’s Confession House and it would end there as well.
“Can’t deny it, I do miss this place a little.” Wen Chi dragged his suitcase and hadn’t even stepped into the house when he heard Tian Yang’s voice.
Wen Chi quickened his pace and pushed open the door. “I’m here!”
There were more people in the living room than Wen Chi had expected—Zhou Yunbai, Tian Yang, Tong Xian’en, Zhou Ruoyao, and even Qin Xiyu had arrived.
“Xiao Chi, come over here! I brought some local specialties from my place, you should try them!” Tian Yang waved at Wen Chi.
“I’m coming, I’m coming.” Wen Chi pushed his suitcase to the side and quickly walked over to the empty seat next to Tong Xian’en. Without hesitation, he grabbed a bit of the food. “I’m a bit hungry.”
“Didn’t you eat?” Tong Xian’en asked, genuinely curious.
“I did, I ate breakfast and lunch together.” Wen Chi replied.
Zhou Yunbai reached out his hand. “Same here.”
Wen Chi chewed on the dried sweet potato, his gaze constantly shifting around the room, looking at whoever spoke. This also made him notice that Tian Yang and Tong Xian’en were sitting very close together, their thighs touching. The distance between them had clearly disappeared.
Wen Chi poked Tong Xian’en’s arm and, when the latter looked over, he said, “Look at your phone.”
Tong Xian’en: “?”
Tong Xian’en had accepted Wen Chi’s friend request, and they had been filming together for over a month, but they hadn’t added each other on WeChat before.
Main livestream chat:
[Ahhh, it’s the last episode, I’m so sad.]
[Honestly, this season really had me on the edge of my seat.]
[Has Teacher Jiang not arrived yet?]
[What are the little brother and Enen whispering about?]
[Wen Chi actually dared to sit so close to Tong Xian’en? Does he want to die?]
[I really can’t, why are people blaming Enen for something that Xu Yuqing did?]
[When did these two get so close?]
[Yeah, it seems better than the previous episodes.]
[How are they going to wrap up this season?]
Wen Chi’s friend request was accepted, but he didn’t send any more messages. Although Tong Xian’en found it a bit strange, there was no harm in having another friend, especially when that friend was Wen Chi.
Jiang Siheng didn’t arrive until after eight in the evening. He had sent a message to Wen Chi saying he would be late but Wen Chi didn’t expect it to be so late.
“Have you eaten?” Wen Chi watched Jiang Siheng take off his mask and baseball cap, revealing tired eyes with red veins.
“Not yet.”
Zhou Yunbai was about to go inside to get some water. “Teacher Jiang, should I make you a bowl of noodles? We’ve all eaten already.”
“No need, I’m not that hungry.”
“Alright.”
Wen Chi’s gaze still lingered on Jiang Siheng. “Really not going to eat anything?”
“I’ll eat.” Jiang Siheng patted his head. “Make me a bowl of noodles and put an egg in it.”
Wen Chi: “…” Didn’t you just say you weren’t hungry?
Main livestream:
[The epitome of male virtue, Jiang Siheng.]
[Xiao Bai: I can’t, I’m dying.]
[Got it, just wanted to eat the noodles his wife made.]
[Ahhh, so sweet, so sweet, so sweet!]
[Please, HengWen CP is real!]
Zhou Yunbai, seeing Wen Chi’s expressionless face as he walked into the small kitchen, took a sip of water and asked curiously, “What’s wrong?”
Knowing Zhou Yunbai’s personality, Wen Chi answered honestly, “Making noodles.”
Zhou Yunbai paused for a moment before quickly catching on. Her expression became a little mischievous.
Wen Chi felt a little uneasy under Zhou Yunbai’s gaze. He hurriedly turned and grabbed some noodles from the cupboard, then went to the fridge to take out eggs and vegetables.
After putting his suitcase away in the room, Jiang Siheng came back downstairs. The others were still in the living room, watching TV shows. For a moment, he felt like he wasn’t filming a variety show but just hanging out with friends.
Tian Yang saw Jiang Siheng and said, “Xiao Chi is in the kitchen.”
“I know.” Jiang Siheng didn’t spare them a second glance, heading straight to the kitchen.
Tian Yang watched Jiang Siheng’s back for quite a while, and Zhou Ruoyao noticed. He slapped him on the shoulder, a rather forceful hit. Tian Yang winced in pain and turned to look at him in confusion. “Why did you hit me?”
Tong Xian’en glanced at Zhou Ruoyao.
Zhou Ruoyao didn’t notice the look from Tong Xian’en and asked, “Why are you staring at him?”
“It’s not that,” Tian Yang began. “Don’t you think something’s different about Jiang Ge?”
“Different? How?” Zhou Yunbai asked, leaning in with curiosity.
“It’s just… it feels…” Tian Yang paused, trying to find the right word. “It feels like his aura has changed.”
Zhou Ruoyao raised an eyebrow. “Aura? I don’t feel anything’s different.”
Tian Yang scratched his head. “I don’t know how to explain it, but it just feels different.”
Main livestream chat:
[I also feel like Teacher Jiang is a bit different, and even more handsome now #shy#]
[Hahahaha]
[The way the young master hit Tian Yang was so funny]
[Oh, what are these two little lovers doing secretly in the kitchen?]
The person being discussed, Jiang Siheng, was watching his boyfriend cook noodles. Wen Chi didn’t pay much attention to Jiang Siheng as he entered the kitchen. He waited for the water to boil, then added the noodles, stirring them with chopsticks until they softened.
“Is it ready?” Jiang Siheng asked, silently standing next to him.
The kitchen light was a warm yellow, and with Wen Chi tending to the noodles, he appeared especially gentle and caring under the light. “Almost. Do you want to add some chili sauce or pepper or anything?”
“No need.”
“Okay.”
Cooking noodles didn’t take long. The smooth, shiny noodles were topped with a poached egg and a sprinkle of green onions, looking incredibly delicious.
“You can bring it out and eat. I’ll wash everything here.”
“I’ll wash it.” Jiang Siheng grabbed Wen Chi’s arm and nodded toward the living room. “Go out and chat with them, watch TV.”
Wen Chi was more than happy to avoid washing the dishes. “Okay.”
Hengwen CP fans who saw this scene: I’m honestly tired of saying it, but this feels like an old married couple.
Wen Chi had just sat down in the living room when, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Jiang Siheng walking out with a bowl, sitting at the dining table to eat noodles, which felt completely out of place compared to the lively atmosphere in the living room.
Wen Chi stood up again.
Jiang Siheng was looking at his phone, and when he noticed someone sitting across from him at the table, he looked up and smiled when he saw it was Wen Chi. “Why did you come over?”
Wen Chi blinked. “I’ve already seen that TV show.”
Jiang Siheng seemed to have guessed the reason Wen Chi sat down, but he just smiled without saying anything further.
“Did the director’s team say anything before I came?”
“No.”
“Mm.”
Wen Chi couldn’t shake the feeling that Jiang Siheng seemed a little off tonight. His hands were clasped together, chin resting on top, quietly watching Jiang Siheng.
Under Wen Chi’s gaze, Jiang Siheng didn’t seem uncomfortable at all. He kept his gaze lowered as he ate his noodles.
Wen Chi’s livestream chat:
[Teacher Jiang can actually eat noodles even with someone staring at him like that…]
[I can’t, if someone stares at me without blinking, I’d feel so uncomfortable.]
[Same here.]
[They’ve probably gotten used to it, being a celebrity means dealing with all kinds of stares and eyes.]
Just as the viewers finished commenting, they saw Jiang Siheng suddenly chuckle softly, covering his face as if embarrassed.
Jiang Siheng put his hand down and reached across the table to poke Wen Chi’s cheek. “Don’t stare at me.”
Wen Chi blinked innocently. “Huh?”
“When you stare at me, I get a little uncomfortable,” Jiang Siheng said. Although this wasn’t their first time eating together face-to-face, Wen Chi had never stared at him like this before.
“Oh, I see.” Wen Chi straightened up, pulled out his phone, and opened a random game. “Then I won’t look at you.”
He played the game for a while, but Jiang Siheng wasn’t satisfied. “Is the game more interesting than me?”
It was… the kind of spoiled tone a young master would have.
Wen Chi: “…You focus on eating.”
Jiang Siheng’s livestream chat:
[I sense something’s off here.]
[Why does it feel like Jiang Ge and Xiao Chi have swapped personas?]
[Jiang Ge, you…]
[Xiao Chi: This man is really hard to serve 🙂 ]
[They must be together already, if not, I’ll do a livestream and eat shit upside down.]
[A-Zhe, is that really necessary? Can you at least tell us where you’re going to live stream beforehand?]
[Damn, I said I’ll do the livestream software, but don’t go too far.]
…
After a day of livestreaming, Wen Chi finished his shower and shuffled out of his room in his slippers, planning to find Jiang Siheng. However, after just a few steps, he bumped into Tian Yang, who was also leaving his room with a cup in hand.
Wen Chi and Tian Yang froze for a moment, staring at each other.
Tian Yang quickly realized where Wen Chi was headed and said, “I didn’t see anything!”
He closed his eyes, turned around, and walked away with his back to Wen Chi.
Wen Chi: …?
…Although his relationship with Jiang Siheng might seem a bit ambiguous in the eyes of others, they didn’t need to make it seem like something they had to hide, right?
Wen Chi sighed, walked to the door of Jiang Siheng’s room, knocked, and then opened the door, peeking inside. “Teacher Jiang, are you asleep?”
Jiang Siheng was sitting on the bed and wasn’t surprised at all to see Wen Chi come to find him. “No, come in.”
Wen Chi closed the door behind him, happily skipped over, and jumped onto the bed. He was immediately pulled into Jiang Siheng’s arms.
“Is there something you need?” Jiang Siheng asked.
Wen Chi faced him and gently cupped Jiang Siheng’s face, pushing a little closer. “I should be asking you that. You don’t seem to be in a good mood. What happened?”
Perhaps it was because his lover was in his arms at this moment, the warmth and softness of the boy’s body and the comforting scent of shampoo and shower gel helped relax the tension in Jiang Siheng’s body that had been built up these past few days.
Wen Chi was tightly embraced, his cheek resting on Jiang Siheng’s shoulder. He heard Jiang Siheng say, “I went to handle some things.”
Wen Chi’s eyelashes fluttered slightly. “Oh, did you take care of it?”
“Almost,” Jiang Siheng said, stroking Wen Chi’s hair. “Sorry, I haven’t been able to reply to your messages promptly these past few days.”
“It’s fine. I rarely reply instantly either. Everyone has their own things to do,” Wen Chi thought he wasn’t the type to need his partner to reply immediately.
Jiang Siheng smiled.
“But Teacher Jiang…” Wen Chi’s voice lowered, and he gripped the sleeve of the man’s shirt. “Are you really going to quit the entertainment industry?”
“Mm.”
Even though just a few days ago, when facing his father’s question, Jiang Siheng had been uncertain, his answer to Wen Chi tonight was definite.
Hearing Jiang Siheng’s answer, Wen Chi said, “Oh.”
“But not so soon.” Jiang Siheng lowered his gaze, only able to see Wen Chi’s fair, slender neck. He wouldn’t leave the entertainment industry that quickly. He wanted to wait until Wen Chi shone in the industry, until Wen Chi was loved by more fans. Only then would he leave the entertainment world and protect Wen Chi from behind, in another identity.
