ASFSODS 96
by starlightxelFortunately, Chen Li didn’t stay here for long. Jiang Siheng, with a stiff face, massaged Wen Chi’s ankle and then pinched it, raising his eyes to look at Wen Chi coldly.
Wen Chi groaned in pain and opened his eyes, glaring at Jiang Siheng. “Why did you pinch me?”
Jiang Siheng stood up. “I couldn’t help myself. Put your shoes on.”
Wen Chi: “…” How is this person so annoying?
Jiang Siheng looked at Wen Chi for a few seconds, then smiled and asked, “Can you still walk?”
Wen Chi stood up and tried walking a bit, nodding. “I can.”
Jiang Siheng hummed, “If it really hurts, don’t hold back. You can just say it. Director Xu may be strict, but at least he’s a good person.”
Just then, Director Xu, who had walked past Jiang Siheng, twitched his mouth, rolled his eyes at Jiang Siheng, and walked off.
Wen Chi leaned forward and said to Jiang Siheng, “Director Xu just walked past you.”
Jiang Siheng: “Oh, I was praising him.”
Wen Chi had a look of disbelief.
Not far away, Xu Zhouwei withdrew his gaze and turned to his assistant. “Did you ask about the matter I told you to ask a few days ago?”
The assistant shook his head. “‘Mr. Jiang’ hasn’t replied to me.”
Xu Zhouwei hummed, “Got it.”
Qin Minzhi walked over, glanced at Xu Zhouwei’s assistant, and looked at Xu Zhouwei, saying in a low voice, “Pay attention to the scenes later, don’t let what just happened happen again.”
Xu Zhouwei, facing Qin Minzhi, dared not disagree, saying, “Got it, Qin Jie.”
Qin Minzhi hummed, then turned her head to glance at Jiang Siheng and Wen Chi, asking, “Are you paying a lot of attention to them?”
Xu Zhouwei lowered his eyelashes, “No.”
Qin Minzhi looked at him for a few seconds, then said, “I don’t care what past grievances you have with them. It was ‘Mr. Jiang’ who asked me to recommend you to this crew. You’d better not develop any unnecessary thoughts and focus on finishing your own scenes properly.”
“I understand.” Xu Zhouwei appeared obedient.
Qin Minzhi came over only to tell Xu Zhouwei to focus on his acting and not do anything else. After saying that, she turned around, not noticing the trace of unwillingness in the boy’s eyes.
After a whole day’s worth of scenes, Wen Chi was feeling exhausted. Plus, his ankle was hurting more and more. When Director Xu announced that the work for the day was over, Wen Chi let out a long sigh of relief.
Every night after work, it was always particularly lively. Everyone was discussing whether to go for a late-night snack or head back to the hotel together. Wen Chi quietly left the crowd, found a chair in the corner, and sat down. The pain in his ankle made him frown unconsciously.
Jiang Siheng had only been chatting with Director Xu for a while. When he turned around, he couldn’t see Wen Chi’s figure, nor could he spot Wen Chi’s assistant.
Xiao Tang noticed that Jiang Siheng seemed to be looking for someone. Without asking who he was looking for, he directly said, “Teacher Wen went over there.”
Jiang Siheng followed Xiao Tang’s gaze and looked over. “Thank you.”
Sangsang looked at Wen Chi with concern. “Xiao Chi Ge, how about we go to the hospital and have it checked? What if you hurt your bones?”
“It’s fine, it’s much better now. Maybe I just stood for too long earlier. A little rest and it’ll be fine.” Wen Chi wasn’t putting on a brave face. After sitting for a while, he noticed it had indeed gotten better.
Sangsang frowned. “But you have scenes early tomorrow. What if it gets worse tomorrow if we don’t take care of it tonight?”
Wen Chi pressed his lips together. “Let’s wait and see.”
When Jiang Siheng found Wen Chi, he saw him with his head down and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Sangsang immediately sighed in relief when she saw Jiang Siheng and whispered, “Xiao Chi Ge said his foot hurts a lot. I suggested he go to the hospital, but he said he doesn’t want to.”
Wen Chi looked at Sang Sang in shock. When did his assistant learn to report him?
Jiang Siheng looked at Wen Chi. Wen Chi glanced at him once, then lowered his head again, clearly looking like he had withdrawn into himself.
Jiang Siheng found it amusing. He crouched down in front of Wen Chi and softly asked, “Do you want to go to the hospital?”
Wen Chi glanced at him. “I don’t want to.”
“Mm.” Jiang Siheng stood up. “Then we won’t go.”
Sangsang: Huh?
Jiang Siheng said, “There’s a doctor in the crew. I’ll have him come check on Xiao Chi later.”
Sangsang: “Oh, okay.”
Wen Chi stood up, still wearing his costume. “Let’s go. I’ll change clothes and take off my makeup first. Wearing makeup all day has been such a pain.”
The crew members, seeing Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng walking together, weren’t surprised anymore. Though they might still guess whether the two were together or not. After all, some of them had watched dating reality shows or caught up on those shows, and they felt the chemistry between Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng in the program seemed very real.
Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng were not in the same dressing room. Jiang Siheng had his own, while Wen Chi shared one with several other actors. Originally, Jiang Siheng wanted to pull some strings to let his boyfriend share the dressing room with him, but unsurprisingly, his request was declined.
The makeup artist quickly finished removing Wen Chi’s makeup, and after changing back into his own clothes, Wen Chi went to find Jiang Siheng. Jiang Siheng’s dressing room was several rooms away from his and even required a turn in the hallway.
Wen Chi, with his hands in his coat pockets, was on his way to find Jiang Siheng when he bumped into Qin Minzhi and Xu Zhouwei. The hallway was a bit narrow, so Wen Chi had to step aside to let them pass.
Unexpectedly, Qin Minzhi suddenly stopped and looked at him, saying something very meaningful, “It seems Director Xu’s judgment is still good. Now I finally understand why he picked you to play the role of ‘Wen Weiyang’ at first sight.”
Wen Chi, confused, responded with, “…Thank you?”
Qin Minzhi looked at Wen Chi’s dazed expression and laughed, but it wasn’t a mocking laugh. She then said, “If your foot still hurts, you should go rest early. We start work at five tomorrow, so take care of your body.”
“Okay, thank you, Teacher Qin.” Wen Chi felt a bit awkward receiving care from Qin Minzhi, whom he wasn’t very familiar with. He casually glanced at Xu Zhouwei, who had been wearing a cold expression since earlier. He wasn’t interested in knowing why the latter looked that way.
Qin Minzhi gave a glance at Xu Zhouwei and said, “Let’s go.”
Xu Zhouwei took a step to follow the woman, but Wen Chi stayed in place. He saw Xu Zhouwei stop after taking just a few steps, turn around, and glare at him with a look of dissatisfaction.
Wen Chi really thought Xu Zhouwei was a strange person.
“Why did you come over? Didn’t I tell you to wait for me in the dressing room?”
He heard Jiang Siheng’s voice from behind. Wen Chi turned around and saw Jiang Siheng walking toward him, asking, “When did you tell me to wait for you in the dressing room?”
Jiang Siheng pointed at his phone. “I sent you a message.”
“Really?” Wen Chi took out his phone and checked, and sure enough, there it was. “I didn’t notice.”
“It’s fine. Let’s go.” Jiang Siheng walked over to Wen Chi and then supported his arm. “How about I just carry you?”
Wen Chi softly refused, “There are other people around.”
Jiang Siheng raised an eyebrow. “Then I’ll just support you.”
The look in Jiang Siheng’s eyes clearly said, “If you refuse again, I’ll just carry you,” and Wen Chi swallowed nervously. “Alright then.”
After returning to the hotel, Jiang Siheng told Wen Chi to take a shower and send him a message after. Fortunately, although his ankle hurt, it was still bearable for standing for five minutes. Wen Chi struggled to finish his shower and put on clothes before coming out and immediately sending a message to Jiang Siheng.
Really, Wen Chi truly thought his boyfriend was just too perfect.
After a while, Jiang Siheng brought the crew doctor to Wen Chi’s room. Wen Chi hopped on one foot to open the door. He glanced at the middle-aged man beside Jiang Siheng, greeted him, and then stepped aside to let them in.
Jiang Siheng closed the door, and Wen Chi tugged at his shirt, quietly asking, “How did you guys get here so fast?”
“Fast? We ran over here.”
Wen Chi stared at Jiang Siheng, speechless.
Jiang Siheng stopped teasing him though. While he didn’t mind ruffling Wen Chi’s feathers and then calming him down again—because his boyfriend was really easy to please—right now, the priority was to have the doctor check Wen Chi’s foot.
The doctor put down his medical kit and turned around, only to see Wen Chi giving a thumbs-up behind Jiang Siheng. “…”
Jiang Siheng turned to look at Wen Chi, smiling in his eyes. “Come over and sit down.”
Wen Chi pouted, then limped over and sat on the sofa. It was hot, and he was used to sleeping in a short-sleeved shirt and sports shorts at night, which also made it convenient for the doctor to check his foot without having to roll up his pants.
As a result, a blanket suddenly fell from the sky and landed on his legs.
Wen Chi and the doctor both looked at the blanket in confusion, then turned to look at the calm-faced Jiang Siheng.
Jiang Siheng, with a steady expression, said without skipping a beat, “The temperature’s a bit chilly tonight.”
The doctor, hearing this, carefully checked the temperature. Really?
Wen Chi looked at Jiang Siheng with a helpless expression. He would be crazy to believe that. Sometimes, a man’s possessiveness and jealousy really appeared out of nowhere.
Wen Chi slightly lifted the blanket to make it easier for the doctor to examine. His ankle was rather thin, and the doctor could almost grip it with one hand. While squeezing, the doctor asked him if it hurts.
“It hurts.”
“Yeah, it hurts—my whole ankle hurts.”
“Does it hurt when you stand? Is it a sharp pain that comes and goes, or a constant one?”
“It comes and goes.”
The doctor nodded, understanding a bit, then stood up and turned to rummage through his medical kit. As the crew’s doctor, he didn’t carry much, mostly just medication for sprains, strains, and wounds.
“The issue isn’t very serious, but you still need to rest more. When you’re not filming, sit down if you can, avoid standing for long periods… though I know you probably won’t do that.” The doctor rambled on with many instructions, then prescribed some medication, medicinal alcohol, and ointment for Wen Chi. After that, he slung his medical kit over his shoulder and was about to leave.
Jiang Siheng walked the doctor to the door. After the doctor had walked a few steps, he realized he was the only one walking. He turned around and saw that Jiang Siheng’s figure was already gone down the hallway.
Jiang Siheng watched the doctor take a few steps before turning around to go back to the room and close the door. He saw the young man already lying on the small sofa, legs propped up high, playing on his phone. He walked over and lowered his legs. “Get up, I’ll apply the medicinal alcohol for you.”
Wen Chi didn’t get up and simply rested his foot on Jiang Siheng’s thigh. “Apply it.”
Jiang Siheng looked at Wen Chi, who looked like he was just waiting around, and really felt a mix of frustration and amusement. After dutifully applying the medicinal alcohol, he waited for a bit before putting on the ointment. Jiang Siheng went to wash his hands and came back, then directly scooped Wen Chi up into his arms.
“What’s going on?” Wen Chi glanced at his boyfriend. He was busy playing a game of Candy Crush, with over twenty minutes left on his unlimited energy, so he had to make the most of it.
“Go to sleep, we have to get up early tomorrow,” Jiang Siheng said.
Wen Chi: “Then carry me back to bed, my foot hurts.”
“…” Jiang Siheng didn’t see any sign that his foot hurt, but he still carried him back to the bed and let him sit down.
Jiang Siheng bent down and looked at him. “What do you want for breakfast tomorrow? I’ll have Xiao Pang go buy it in the morning, and I’ll get your assistant’s order too.”
“Do they even sell breakfast this early?”
“Just tell him to go a bit later.”
“Alright, I’ll ask Sang Sang later and then send you a WeChat message.”
Jiang Siheng patted Wen Chi’s head. “Okay, I’ll head back now. Goodnight.”
Wen Chi looked up at Jiang Siheng, put his phone down, reached out to wrap his arms around the man’s neck, and gave him a kiss on the lips. His gaze and tone were incredibly sweet, “Goodnight, goodnight~”
Jiang Siheng lowered his gaze to look at the boy. Honestly—if he could still walk away at a moment like this, then he really ought to be damned.
Yet for the sake of both of them, he shouldn’t stay.
Jiang Siheng took a deep breath, bent down, and kissed Wen Chi fiercely on the lips. The desire in his eyes was completely unmasked. “Goodnight.” After saying that, he turned and left immediately, afraid that if he stayed even one more second, things might go wrong.
