After Su Shijin returned from the restroom, Gu Weiyang pulled himself out of his thoughts.

He turned his head to look at Su Shijin and felt that it was actually quite good that Su Shijin had no impression of him from six years ago.

After all, back then, apart from his brute strength, he really had no other merits.

Unlike now, at least he has money.

Gu Weiyang stood up from the sofa, walked over to Su Shijin, and asked with a smile, “Isn’t it time for dinner?”

Su Shijin glanced at the time. “Mm, let me call and ask if Grandpa is back.”

Grandpa Su easily got addicted to fishing. Sometimes, once he found a good spot and set up, he would sit there the entire day. He would never go home unless urged.

As expected, when Su Shijin made the call, Grandpa Su was still by the river.

“You guys go ahead and eat, don’t wait for me. This is the best time for fishing, I can’t leave now,” Grandpa Su said.

Su Shijin knew he couldn’t persuade Grandpa Su, so he just let him be.

He hung up the phone and put it away. “We’ll eat first, and then we’ll take a portion to Grandpa later.”

Gu Weiyang’s eyes lit up. Great, just the two of us for dinner.

The chef hired by the Su family was very skilled. It was said that the head chef had been working for the Su family for twenty years and had practically watched Su Shijin grow up, so he knew his tastes very well. He had prepared a whole table of dishes that Su Shijin loved.

Gu Weiyang wasn’t picky about food; he could eat anything. Not to mention, the Su family’s chef was talented and the food he made always tasted great.

But Su Shijin didn’t think the same.

After looking at the table full of dishes he loved, he slowly put down his chopsticks.

Gu Weiyang, holding a small bowl of corn and rib soup, placed it in front of him. Seeing this, he asked, “What’s wrong? Not hungry?”

“No.” Su Shijin shook his head.

He had just suddenly realized that he had never known what Gu Weiyang liked.

What type of clothes he liked to wear, what kind of food he enjoyed, his favorite colors, hobbies, and so on.

Su Shijin knew nothing about these things.

On the other hand, Gu Weiyang knew exactly what he liked, which is why Su Shijin always felt at ease whenever he was with Gu Weiyang.

Su Shijin originally wanted to ask Gu Weiyang what he liked, but doing so would make it seem like he was concerned about him, which made Su Shijin instinctively feel resistant.

“It’s fine, let’s eat first,” Su Shijin hesitated for a moment before ultimately deciding not to ask.

Gu Weiyang glanced up at him, vaguely sensing that Su Shijin wanted to say something, but in the end, he didn’t ask anything.

After dinner, Su Shijin went to the kitchen and took out the packed meal for Grandpa Su from the warming box.

Gu Weiyang went with him to deliver the meal to Grandpa Su.

The spot where Grandpa Su was fishing was a bit far from home, and it would take about half an hour on foot.

Since they had just eaten, and the food container was insulated and wouldn’t get cold, Su Shijin asked Gu Weiyang if he minded walking over, treating it as a way to help with digestion after the meal.

Gu Weiyang naturally had no objections. He proactively reached out and took the lunchbox, walking on the outside of Su Shijin. “Is Grandpa still fishing at the same spot as before?”

He had gone with Grandpa the last time he visited and still remembered the place.

Su Shijin responded with a simple “Mm,” and said, “Grandpa only fishes there.”

Gu Weiyang slightly lowered his gaze, looking at the omega walking beside him. His lips moved, but in the end, he didn’t say anything.

Opportunities like this, walking with the person he liked on a countryside path, were rare and Gu Weiyang cherished this moment.

People are greedy. With each wish fulfilled, they begin to desire even more.

    Gu Weiyang wasn’t like that.

He only wished to maintain everything as it was, even if he and Su Shijin would never have a future together. At least in a year, he would still have one beautiful memory to hold onto.

He felt that everything he had now was like a piece of candy given to him by the heavens, out of pity for how hard his life had been before.

One piece was enough. He wasn’t greedy.

The road to the spot where Grandpa Su was fishing was a small path next to a wheat field.

The two of them didn’t say anything, slowly walking along the path. About half an hour later, they arrived at the fishing spot.

There were many people at the fishing spot, mostly fishing enthusiasts, with a few who were closer to Grandpa Su and would occasionally chat with him.

This was also the reason why Su Shijin wasn’t worried about Grandpa Su coming here to fish alone until so late. Surrounded by people Grandpa knew well, even if something happened, they would notify the family in time.

“Grandpa,” Su Shijin called out first, waiting for Grandpa to notice him before stepping forward.

Grandpa Su looked a bit surprised. “What are you two doing here?”

“We brought you dinner,” Su Shijin said, taking the insulated food container from Gu Weiyang’s hands and placing it on the small table next to Grandpa. He then opened the container, one by one.

The food was still warm, and the aroma spread as soon as the container was opened, immediately catching the attention of those nearby.

“Hey, isn’t that Uncle Su’s grandson?” A middle-aged man recognized Su Shijin. Seeing the food container in his hands, he immediately looked at him with envy. “Uncle Su is really lucky, he’s fishing and still having family bring him food.”

Su Shijin found the middle-aged man somewhat familiar. With a polite smile, he said, “You haven’t had dinner yet, right? I brought a lot, would you like to join us?”

“No, no, I’m not hungry yet,” the man instinctively declined but just as he finished speaking, his stomach growled loudly, instantly making his face turn red with embarrassment.

Grandpa Su laughed heartily, “Ha ha, enough with the formalities! There’s plenty of food, come on over and eat!”

Grandpa Su let out a hearty “Haha” laugh. “Enough of that, there’s no need to be so polite with me. There’s plenty of food, come eat.”

The middle-aged man rubbed his hands a little awkwardly, but the aroma was just too tempting to resist. Smiling, he carried over his little stool.

Although Su Shijin had only brought one set of tableware, it included chopsticks, a fork, and a spoon. Grandpa Su used the chopsticks, while the man simply picked up the fork to make it easier to eat the dishes.

“Uncle Su, your grandson is really filial, bringing you dinner like this. He’s way better than my kid,” the man said while eating, complimenting him.

Grandpa Su chuckled, “He’s grown up now. He only comes back once every couple of weeks.”

The man replied, “That’s normal. Young people these days are all like that, working away to make money. My son only comes back during holidays.”

As the man chatted, his gaze drifted over to the tall, silent figure standing nearby.

In fact, the moment this man had arrived, the middle-aged man had noticed him. After all, with a build and height like that, it was obvious he was an alpha—hard to miss.

    “Who’s this?” the man asked.

Grandpa Su glanced at Gu Weiyang and replied, “My grandson’s partner.”

“Hello, my name is Gu Weiyang, you can just call me Xiao Gu.”

“Oh, hello, hello, my surname is Sun.”

“Uncle Sun,” Gu Weiyang politely shook the man’s hand.

During the handshake, Uncle Sun took a few glances at him. “The young man is quite handsome. You’re an alpha, right? When did you start dating? How come there was no news about it before?”

Gu Weiyang smiled and nodded. “Yes, I’m an alpha. We’ve been married for a while now. It’s probably because I don’t come around often, so you weren’t really aware.”

Uncle Sun responded with an understanding “Oh, I see.”

    Two seconds later.

    “Married??”
