Su Shijin felt that Mr. Gu usually appeared mature and composed, but sometimes his behavior was really difficult to understand.

Especially that one strange incident, where he actually did it openly in front of him, to the point where Su Shijin regretted it, wanting him to delete the voice message, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it.

It seemed that saying it out loud would imply he cared too much about the behavior.

    No, wait.

Normal people would probably care about that behavior, right?

Yet seeing that Gu Weiyang seemed to be in a good mood, and because Su Shijin, who was already feeling guilty about lying, hesitated for a long time but he still didn’t ask him to delete the voice message.

    Let it be.

Just don’t listen to it in front of him anymore.

Su Shijin rubbed his temples, feeling a bit of a headache, and said, “You go ahead and get busy, I’ll head to the bedroom to rest.”

Gu Weiyang also wanted to go back to his room and rest, but most importantly, he wanted to rest with Dr. Su.

Unfortunately, he still had some work left to finish, so he could only regretfully continue working overtime.

Until around midnight, Gu Weiyang finally finished his work, turned off his computer, and came out of the study.

By that time, Su Shijin was already asleep. Gu Weiyang tiptoed quietly, grabbed his pajamas, and went to the bathroom outside to take a shower.

When Gu Weiyang came back after his shower, Su Shijin vaguely sensed it and opened his eyes groggily. “Mr. Gu?”

“Mm?” Gu Weiyang held his breath for a moment, then asked in a whisper, “Did I wake you?”

“No, I slept too much this afternoon, so it’s been pretty light.” Su Shijin reached for his phone and squinted at the time. “It’s already this late?”

“Mm, go back to sleep.” Gu Weiyang moved quietly as he got into bed, turned his head to look at Su Shijin’s half-dazed expression, and let out a soft laugh. “I’m turning off the light.”

“Alright.” Su Shijin curled deeper into the covers and closed his eyes again.

Gu Weiyang turned off the bedside lamp, and only after the breathing of the person beside him grew light and steady again did he finally close his eyes.

    Sweet dreams.

The next day after lunch, the two of them said goodbye to Grandpa and returned to Jiang City.

The seminar Su Shijin was going to attend would be held in late April, and there was still some time before then, so he wasn’t in a rush to pack.

Since there was plenty of time before the seminar, Su Shijin gave Gu Weiyang a few more desensitization treatments.

One time during a desensitization treatment, Su Shijin was releasing pheromones while watching a criminal investigation suspense drama.

Gu Weiyang, sitting nearby, was both tortured and delighted by Dr. Su’s pheromones. Despite trying to control himself for a long time, Gu Xiaoren still stood up, chest out, without any intention of sitting back down.

Gu Weiyang was worried that if Gu Xiaoren kept standing without resting for too long, it might cause problems.

However, an alpha couldn’t say no, so he focused on controlling his pheromones from overflowing while rubbing his swollen gland at the back of his neck, which felt as if it were the size of a walnut, trying to relieve the heat.

Just when Gu Weiyang thought it was about time, Su Shijin suddenly let out a soft “Ah.” In the next second, the omega’s pheromones momentarily went out of control, and the strong scent of mint suddenly hit Gu Weiyang’s face. Gu Xiaoren excitedly twitched for a moment, and then…

Then… Gu Weiyang silently lowered his head and covered his face, as the strong scent of alcohol-like pheromones spread uncontrollably.

“Sorry, I got distracted by the TV just now,” Su Shijin quickly pulled back his pheromones, skillfully putting on his suppression ring to prevent his pheromones from affecting the alpha. He then nervously looked at Gu Weiyang. “Are you okay? Is there anything uncomfortable?”

Gu Weiyang hesitated, feeling uncomfortable all over, but he didn’t dare to say anything.

He swore that he had never felt this embarrassed in his life.

Thankfully, it seemed like Su Shijin hadn’t noticed anything. The heat on Gu Weiyang’s face cooled down a little.

He tightly pressed the blanket on his legs, trying his best not to let Su Shijin notice anything unusual, and feigned calmness. “I’m fine, it’s nothing. Just that my gland hurts a bit.”

“I’ll take a look.” Su Shijin, worried that his pheromones might have irritated Gu Weiyang’s gland, gently placed a hand on his head to make him lower it.

Gu Weiyang had originally wanted to say something, but when Su Shijin pressed the back of his head like that, the words of refusal got stuck in his throat. He obediently lowered his head, exposing his swollen and red gland at the back of his neck.

“Hiss…” Su Shijin was shocked by the gland, which was swollen to the size of a walnut. “It’s swollen, really swollen. Does it hurt a lot? We should go to the hospital now.”

The warm breath from Su Shijin’s words landed on Gu Weiyang’s gland, making him almost jump off the sofa.

“It’s fine, it’s fine, this is normal,” Gu Weiyang firmly pressed his hand against his swollen gland, while his other hand grabbed the cushion and quickly moved away from Su Shijin. “I can’t handle the scent on you right now, I need some space.”

Only then did Su Shijin belatedly realize what he had just done.

The gland, whether for an alpha or an omega, is an incredibly private area. Under normal circumstances, staring at someone’s gland up close or touching it without permission would be considered sexual harassment.

Although Gu Weiyang hadn’t rejected Su Shijin looking at his gland from such a close distance just now, Su Shijin still felt his cheeks heating up, as if he had overstepped and made the other person uncomfortable. He quickly pulled back and said, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to.”

“It’s fine, you didn’t do anything wrong, no need to apologize,” Gu Weiyang immediately reassured him, but then, in the next breath, revealed what was on his mind. “Besides, if you were doing it on purpose, I’d be happy about it, not bothered.”

    Su Shijin: …

He looked at Gu Weiyang, somewhat speechless, not expecting that even though he was in so much discomfort, Gu Weiyang would still be thinking about such random things.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Su Shijin confirmed again, his concern still evident.

The image of Gu Weiyang losing control during his last sensitivity period still lingered in Su Shijin’s mind, and he truly didn’t want anything to happen to him.

Gu Weiyang reassured him, “The desensitization treatments have been effective, there really isn’t any problem. You go rest upstairs first, I’ll be fine here on my own. If anything comes up, I’ll call you right away, how does that sound?”

Gu Weiyang was worried that if Su Shijin stayed too close, he might pick up on other scents besides the strong alcohol, so he felt quite anxious.

Seeing the sincerity in his eyes, Su Shijin relaxed a little and didn’t insist on taking him to the hospital.

“Then I’ll go upstairs first. Call me if anything happens,” Su Shijin said.

Gu Weiyang nodded repeatedly, and only when Su Shijin’s figure disappeared from his sight did his tense body finally ease up a little.

Then, feeling somewhat on the verge of breaking down, Gu Weiyang rubbed his face with his hands to try and clear his mind. He lowered his head and fiercely glared at the cushion, gritting his teeth as he muttered, “You couldn’t hold back, could you? Huh?”

Unfortunately, Gu Xiaoren couldn’t answer him. It didn’t understand anything—it was just the most direct reaction Gu Weiyang had to Su Shijin.

Frustrated and full of shame, Gu Weiyang had no way to vent, so he could only bang his head against the sofa.

It was just that Dr. Su’s pheromone scent was a bit too strong, how did he…

    How did he…

How could it happen so quickly…

Could it be that something’s wrong with his body?!

Gu Weiyang leaped off the sofa in a panic, almost on the verge of losing control.
