Although it wasn’t the first time that Gu Weiyang confessed to him, hearing him openly express his feelings in front of so many people left Su Shijin at a loss for how to respond.

Fortunately, Gu Weiyang didn’t seem to expect him to reply, as if it was as simple as being hungry and needing food, thirsty and needing water—when he felt moved, he just straightforwardly told the other person.

“Just give the ticket over there, right?” Gu Weiyang pointed to a row of windows inside the shop and naturally changed the topic.

    “Ah, yeah.”

Su Shijin walked ahead of Gu Weiyang, holding the ticket, and led him to show how to get the food. “Just give them the ticket, and they’ll give you the toppings and noodles according to the receipt.”

Gu Weiyang actually knew how to do all of this. Before returning to the Gu family, he worked part-time at various restaurants to earn tuition and living expenses, and noodle shops were among them.

However, Gu Weiyang really liked the way Su Shijin gently explained how to get the food, so he simply pretended not to know anything and happily enjoyed Su Shijin’s care.

The toppings at this noodle shop are served in separate plates and small bowls, allowing customers to choose whether to mix them into the noodles or eat them separately, depending on their preference.

Gu Weiyang’s fried pork chop wasn’t suitable to be mixed into the noodles, as the crispy golden exterior would easily become soggy in the noodle soup.

After getting the noodles and toppings he ordered, Su Shijin was lucky enough to find two empty seats next to each other. After asking the customers opposite if anyone was sitting there, he placed the tray on the table and waved to Gu Weiyang.

The tables and chairs in the noodle shop were arranged quite tightly. For an omega like Su Shijin, sitting inside was manageable, but for an alpha like Gu Weiyang, with his tall frame and long legs, there was simply no space.

When Gu Weiyang sat down, he could only manage to squeeze one leg under the table, while the other leg stretched out to the side.

“Is it a bit cramped?” Su Shijin scooted his chair over a bit. “You can come a little closer to this side.”

“It’s fine, this is good enough.” Gu Weiyang reached out and pulled Su Shijin along with his chair back into place, his strength so strong that it startled Su Shijin.

The people sitting across from them heard the noise and glanced up from their bowls, but since they were strangers, they only looked for a moment before quickly averting their gaze.

Su Shijin, however, felt his ears warm under the gaze, and he reached out to tap Gu Weiyang’s forearm, urging him to let go. “I get it, I won’t move. Let go now.”

Gu Weiyang raised an eyebrow slightly before finally releasing his hand.

The flavor of the noodle shop that Su Shijin recommended was indeed good. Both the taste of the noodles and the soup base, as well as the toppings, were very much to Gu Weiyang’s liking.

Compared to Su Shijin, Gu Weiyang’s taste was definitely on the heavier side. After pouring the spicy shredded chicken along with the soup over his noodles, he even added two spoonfuls of chili oil on top.

“Mm, the flavor of this noodle is really good, and the chili is quite fragrant,” Gu Weiyang immediately fell in love with the taste of this noodle shop.

Su Shijin poured a bit of vinegar into his noodles, then glanced at the fiery red soup and asked, “Isn’t it too spicy?”

“It’s not too spicy. Do you want to try?” Gu Weiyang pushed the bowl of noodles towards him, pointing to the part with more shredded chicken. “I haven’t touched this side. You can give it a try.”

Su Shijin looked at the particularly tempting shredded chicken and noodles, feeling a bit tempted.

Although he wasn’t really the type to handle spicy food well, he did enjoy it. For example, with hotpot, he would often end up with tears in his eyes from the spice, but he would still continue eating, breathing heavily between bites.

“I’ll just try a little bit,” Su Shijin couldn’t resist, picking up a small bit of noodles and chicken with his chopsticks. He placed it in the spoon, blew on it, and then ate it in one bite.

Gu Weiyang watched Su Shijin expectantly. “So, how is it? Does it taste good?”

Su Shijin slowly swallowed the food in his mouth, his lips tingling from the spice. He couldn’t say anything for a while.

“Hmm?” Gu Weiyang tilted his head, looking at his face in confusion. “What’s wrong?”

The next moment, Gu Weiyang’s gaze met Su Shijin’s and he saw the tears welling up in his eyes.

“Eh? Eh??” Gu Weiyang was startled, quickly pulled out a tissue and handed it to him. “What’s wrong? Is it too spicy?”

“No, no.” Su Shijin covered his mouth with the tissue, turned his head, and coughed softly a few times. His voice was a little hoarse as he explained, “I accidentally got some chili in my throat.”

“I’ll go buy a bottle of water. Wait for me in a minute.” Gu Weiyang stood up and went to the cashier to buy a bottle of mineral water. After opening it, he placed it in front of Su Shijin. “Drink some water.”

“Mm.” Su Shijin’s eyes were red from the spice, and his nose was flushed, making him look like he had been bullied. As he drank the water, his Adam’s apple gently moved and Gu Weiyang couldn’t tear his eyes away from him.

“Is it better?” Gu Weiyang asked nervously when he saw Su Shijin put the water bottle down.

“Mm, it’s just the chili that went down the wrong way. Drinking some water made it much better,” Su Shijin reassured him but his beautiful eyes, now glistening with tears, looked like glass marbles, the corners tinged with red, making him look particularly tempting.

At that moment, Gu Weiyang really wanted to kiss his eyes.

Fortunately, his rationality was still intact. Gu Weiyang didn’t dare to do anything without Su Shijin’s consent. He licked his dry lips and quickly looked away.

During the meal, Gu Weiyang didn’t dare to look at Su Shijin’s face too many times.

It was too much. Seeing Su Shijin with his eyes slightly red and his lips flushed from the spice, Gu Weiyang’s mind was filled with things that Jinjiang wouldn’t allow to be written.

His head was full of inappropriate thoughts.

If he had the chance, he really wanted to make him cry.

Gu Weiyang boldly thought to himself.

After lunch, it was almost time for Su Shijin to head to the high-speed rail station.

Gu Weiyang felt very reluctant. On the way to the high-speed train station, he kept thinking that this stretch of road was really too short, and it only took half an hour to drive here

At the high-speed rail station, you could only send someone to the entrance. To get through the gate, you needed to scan your ID card and buy a ticket for that day’s travel before passing through the ticket barrier.

Gu Weiyang parked the car in the underground parking lot and after walking with Su Shijin to the entrance, couldn’t go any further.

“Then I’ll leave you here,” Gu Weiyang stopped, handed him the suitcase, and reluctantly stared at him, as if every moment of not looking at him would make the next half month feel unbearable.

Su Shijin felt like his face was almost being stared through. He glanced at the time and said, “There’s still some time before the ticket check. Do you want to find a nearby café and sit for a while?”

Gu Weiyang’s eyes lit up, but then he slumped a bit, his head drooping. “Never mind, there’s only half an hour before ticket check. You should go through security early. Even if I spend more time with you now, when it’s time to part, I’ll still feel reluctant to let go.”

Su Shijin looked at Gu Weiyang, whose every strand of hair seemed to convey a sense of grievance, and let out a helpless sigh. “I’m only going for half a month.”

“One day apart feels like three years,” Gu Weiyang mumbled.

Su Shijin rarely saw Gu Weiyang act so childish, but this was probably the real side of him. It was actually kind of cute.

“Then what do you think we should do? Should I not go?” Su Shijin teased him on purpose.

Gu Weiyang felt a sudden flutter in his heart but controlled himself and shook his head. “No, no, no, work is important.”

“Alright, I’ll bring you a gift when I come back,” Su Shijin gently reassured Gu Weiyang. “Should I head in now?”

“Mm, be careful on the road, and message me when you arrive at your destination. Of course, a video call would be even better,” Gu Weiyang urged quickly.

“Alright, be safe on your way back too,” Su Shijin waved his hand and entered the station, disappearing from Gu Weiyang’s view.

After passing through security and entering the waiting hall, Su Shijin finally turned around and looked outside through the one-way glass.

Gu Weiyang hadn’t left yet. His tall, alpha frame stood out in the crowd, and Su Shijin could spot him at a glance.

Surrounded by people hurrying along and pulling luggage or carrying bags, Gu Weiyang stood still, looking somewhat out of place.

He resembled a large dog, left at home to guard the house, feeling both abandoned and lonely.
