ACBAM 71: Feelings
by starlightxelFrom Jiang City to K City, taking the high-speed train takes about two hours.
Around 5:30 PM, Su Shijin arrived in K City.
After arriving at the station, Su Shijin immediately sent a message to Gu Weiyang to let him know he had arrived safely. He knew very well that considering Gu Weiyang’s personality, if he didn’t send a message by the time he arrived, Gu Weiyang would probably start to worry.
As for the video call that Gu Weiyang mentioned, Su Shijin simply ignored it.
It seemed like Gu Weiyang had been staring at his phone, as he almost instantly replied: [Are you going to the hotel now?]
Su Shijin replied: [Hmm, there’s some traffic at this time, so I’m planning to take the subway.]
[Gu Weiyang: Okay, let me know when you arrive at the hotel, and be careful on the road.]
[Su Shijin: Okay.]
[Su Shijin: Little Cat Nodding.jpg]
Originally, Gu Weiyang had been feeling down and lethargic, working overtime because he couldn’t see his wife that evening. Yet when he saw the cute sticker his wife sent, it was as if he was inflated like a balloon, instantly filled with energy!
Today, I have the motivation to work overtime and stay up late to finish organizing!!
[Gu Weiyang: Little Dog Sending Hearts.jpg]
Gu Weiyang happily replied with a sticker.
Su Shijin looked at the happy, bouncing little dog on the screen and couldn’t help but imagine it as Gu Weiyang, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
If Mr. Gu were a dog, what breed would he be?
He would probably be a large breed, considering Mr. Gu’s already impressive size.
When Su Shijin was once held in his arms, he felt that Mr. Gu’s physique was much larger than his own. Although Su Shijin himself was relatively tall for an omega, it felt like Mr. Gu almost enveloped him completely in his embrace.
Wait, no, that’s not right.
Why is he reminiscing about being held in Mr. Gu’s arms?
Su Shijin snapped back to reality, curling his thumb and tapping his forehead to shake off the inappropriate memories that had popped up. He then focused on rethinking what breed of large dog Mr. Gu might be.
Golden Retriever?
He looks a bit too gentle and cute for that, it doesn’t seem quite right.
Siberian Husky… sometimes the personality is a bit similar but the size is a bit small.
Alaskan Malamute, on the other hand, doesn’t seem like Mr. Gu’s type with all that fluffy fur.
What other large dog breeds are there?
Su Shijin held his phone, walking toward the subway entrance while thinking about what breed of dog Mr. Gu might be.
He imagined a dog that looked tall and strong on the outside, distant with strangers, but extremely affectionate and clingy with its owner…
Out of the corner of his eye, Su Shijin spotted a large dog wearing a leash and his gaze immediately fixed on it.
It was a bit similar.
The dog was slightly larger than a Golden Retriever, with a strong and imposing appearance, but in private, it had a clingy, affectionate personality and loved to be pampered.
Watching the large dog clingy and affectionate towards its owner, Su Shijin couldn’t help but chuckle softly. It really was quite similar.
Except Mr. Gu was a bit more restrained, as if he wanted to get closer but didn’t dare, probably afraid of upsetting him.
Thinking of this, Su Shijin’s footsteps came to a sudden halt.
Strange, it feels like he’s been thinking about Mr. Gu the whole time.
Is it because he knows he’ll be away for a while and his pheromones are a bit unstable?
Su Shijin frowned slightly, unable to make sense of it, so he decided not to think about it anymore.
After all, with half a month to go, whether it was the influence of his pheromones or something else, everything would become clear once the time passed.

The subway entrance is right next to the exit of the high-speed train station in K City.
It takes about half an hour by subway from the high-speed train station to the hotel he booked.
At 5:30 PM, it was peak time for school dismissals and office workers getting off work. Luckily, the high-speed train station wasn’t far from the starting station and when Su Shijin took his suitcase onto the subway, there was still space. Half an hour later, he arrived at the central station.
After exiting the central station, Su Shijin looked at the traffic jam that stretched all the way to the next street and felt that not taking a taxi was definitely the right choice.
The hotel Su Shijin had booked was not far from the subway entrance of the central station. He was quite particular about the living environment of the hotels he stayed in, so he had booked the best-starred hotel in the area.
Both the service in the hotel and the safety measures for omegas were excellent. Even the suite’s door was made from materials that effectively prevent the spread of pheromones.
This was something most ordinary hotels couldn’t achieve.
Of course, staying at such a hotel meant that the Anshi Animal Hospital would not reimburse the costs and Su Shijin would need to pay out of pocket.
However, the main purpose of this trip was to adjust his emotions and a better hotel environment could help make both the body and mind feel more at ease. So Su Shijin didn’t mind the extra cost.
After arriving at the hotel, Su Shijin sent a message to Gu Weiyang to let him know he had arrived safely. Then he unpacked his suitcase and went downstairs to the buffet restaurant where he had a dinner that was decent in taste.
The night in the city center was brightly lit. Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window on the upper floor, Su Shijin could see most of the city laid out before him.
Thanks to the good soundproofing, despite the traffic downstairs, Su Shijin didn’t feel disturbed by the noise.
After taking a shower, Su Shijin changed into a long-sleeved and long-pants sleepwear, closed the curtains and turned off the lights, then lay down in the soft and comfortable bed.
He thought he would sleep well tonight, considering he had traveled for quite a long time in the afternoon and had woken up early in the morning.
Unexpectedly, he didn’t sleep well at all.
From around 4 or 5 in the morning, Su Shijin was in a state of waking up for a while, then falling asleep again. Even when he closed his eyes, he was only in light sleep and the gentle vibration of his phone receiving a message was enough to wake him up.
Although he was clearly exhausted, Su Shijin just couldn’t sleep well. When he got up for breakfast in the morning, he noticed he already had dark circles under his eyes.
In this unfamiliar environment, with no trace of Mr. Gu’s pheromones, Su Shijin’s physical and mental reactions were more pronounced than he had expected.
After all, in the past, even if Su Shijin wasn’t used to sleeping in a new environment, it had never affected him to this extent.
It had only been a little over a month since he and Mr. Gu had been together yet his body had become so particular.
The nearly perfect pheromone match rate truly was a scary thing. Su Shijin felt that choosing to spend some time apart to clarify his emotions was indeed the right decision.
The three-day seminar passed in the blink of an eye.
Su Shijin hadn’t rested well for the past three nights, often waking up in the middle of the night, which made his mood unusually restless and agitated.
It wasn’t until he flew to F City and arrived at the beachfront resort hotel that, looking at the endless sea and feeling the gentle, comfortable breeze by his ears, his restless emotions finally began to subside a little.
The sea truly is a healing place. That night, although Su Shijin didn’t sleep very deeply, he woke up feeling much more relaxed mentally. At least the Taiyang acupoint wasn’t throbbing from lack of sleep anymore.
Su Shijin was going to stay at this hotel for nine more days. During this time, he often received messages from Gu Weiyang—good mornings, good nights, asking if he had eaten. Su Shijin would reply to each one.
However, Su Shijin wouldn’t actively reveal what he was doing since Gu Weiyang still thought he was attending the seminar, while in reality, he was on vacation by the sea.
Once a lie was told, it took countless other lies to cover it up. Su Shijin was afraid of saying something wrong that might make Gu Weiyang notice so he simply avoided talking about it altogether.
After a week of being away from Gu Weiyang, Su Shijin clearly felt that he was no longer affected by any pheromones.
Because of this, Su Shijin realized that he still found himself thinking about Gu Weiyang at certain moments.
For example, today, while he was sitting in a window-side booth at a music bar by the sea while sipping on a non-alcoholic drink, listening to the soft folk music, and watching the pitch-black night outside, he thought about how Gu Weiyang would probably enjoy this kind of environment.
Gu Weiyang might be sitting across from him, ordering a cocktail that wasn’t too strong but had a rather intense flavor, chatting with him about how the drink tasted, asking if he wanted to try it, and then inquiring if he wanted to go jet skiing tomorrow.
Su Shijin actually did want to ride the jet ski but he didn’t want to go alone and he didn’t want to be guided by the instructor either.
He wasn’t sure if Gu Weiyang knew how to drive a jet ski, but it should be something that could be learned quickly, right?
Next time, he should come here with Gu Weiyang.
Su Shijin lowered his gaze and stared at the chat window stuck on the [Goodnight] screen, his heart beating steadily and firmly.
Su Shijin had always been a very clear-headed person so even in the relatively noisy music bar, his mind remained completely alert.
During the week apart from Mr. Gu, Su Shijin was well aware that he was no longer affected by his pheromones so he also understood what it meant to think about Gu Weiyang at this time and place.
Su Shijin took a sip of his drink and looked at the chat window with Gu Weiyang, letting out a helpless chuckle.
At this point, neither avoiding reality nor deceiving himself would make any difference.
Sometimes, being too clear-headed isn’t a good thing.
For example, Su Shijin at this moment, clearly understood his feelings for Gu Weiyang.
In a state where he didn’t believe in any kind of love, he still couldn’t control himself and had fallen for an alpha.
This was truly scary.
While Su Shijin was lost in thought, he didn’t notice that at the bar, a handsome man kept glancing in his direction.
Then, the man secretly took a photo of him with his phone and sent it to his friend: [Image]
[Young Master Tan, I keep thinking this person looks so much like President Gu’s wife.]
[Is it him?]
