ASFTB 32: Say the Child Isn’t Your Biological Child
by starlightxelJian Chengxi returned home and was immersed in the sorrow of losing the 500 yuan.
However, it was time for the child to sleep, so he first took the child back to the children’s room. Since Grandma Li had already left, he covered the child with a small blanket before leaving.
When he reached downstairs, he saw Li Lingfeng holding a video conference, discussing work matters with his subordinates.
On the other end of the video was naturally the deputy general.
The deputy general appeared very serious and spoke, “The statistics have been fully completed. The damaged goods are estimated to be worth around 120,000 coins. Sir, originally, we didn’t inspect the goods because we had heard that they were already damaged but when we just did an inventory check, we discovered something was wrong.”
Li Lingfeng furrowed his brows. “Speak.”
“The situation with those supplies is probably not as simple as it seems. During our inventory, we found that many of the items that were burned actually contained fruits and nutrient liquids that were near expiration, or even spoiled.” The deputy general said, somewhat angrily, “Clearly, when the emperor issued the decree, the supplies given to all the soldiers should have been the best quality!”
Perhaps, from the very beginning, those supplies had indeed been good.
Layer after layer, each link in the chain takes a bite of this cake.
So many hands passing it down—those in the underground city, the poor, the very bottom of society.
And what is this cake?
All the suffering common folk are nothing more than cake in the eyes of the corrupt.
Perhaps they have long grown accustomed to it, taking exploitation and parasitism as the norm, which is why they dare to act so unscrupulously.
The deputy general, unable to hide his anger, exclaimed, “How hateful, truly vile! They even dare to steal the soldiers’ morale supplies!”
Li Lingfeng stood by the window, the moonlight falling on him. Beneath his long eyelashes, there seemed to be a shadow. His voice was cold as he asked, “Have you found out who did it?”
The deputy general immediately replied, “The underground city has been complicated in recent years, with different lords for the northern and southern cities. From the city lords to the military overseers, and even the accountants, everything should have been rotten by now. I’ve already detained the two guards who were in charge of the warehouse back then, just waiting for your personal interrogation.”
Li Lingfeng succinctly responded, “Hmm, I will allocate a sum of 100,500 to you. Arrange for it, and ensure that the full supplies reach the families of every soldier.”
The deputy general was momentarily stunned and asked, “My lord, why is it exactly 100,500? Who should the remaining 500 be sent to?”
The question seemed a bit abrupt.
Even Jian Chengxi, who had just come down the stairs, couldn’t help but glance over curiously after overhearing.
Li Lingfeng, however, only responded calmly, “The remaining 500…”
The moonlight outside spilled in, cold and distant. From Jian Chengxi’s perspective, looking at the man standing by the window, he could only see his sharply defined jaw. At that moment, the man seemed to sense his gaze. He took a step, his tall frame turning toward him.
“The remaining 500 coins should be transferred to my family’s account,” Li Lingfeng said.
The deputy general was stunned. “Huh? To Madam’s account?”
Li Lingfeng responded with a slight “Mm.” His usually cold gaze then fell on Jian Chengxi, his meaning unclear as he said, “Mm, just consider it a supplement for his basic welfare.”
Not far away, Jian Chengxi’s eyes widened in shock. “?!”
The communication ended on the other side.
Li Lingfeng stood facing him. The modest and simple wooden house looked even more empty after the furniture had been arranged. Yet, the man standing by the treehouse window, dressed in a sharp military uniform, seemed to blend with the cool breeze blowing in from outside, as if the chilling aura surrounding him merged with the wind.
He walked over slowly, and Jian Chengxi couldn’t help but shiver for no reason.
It’s over…
It’s over…
Could it be that just because I couldn’t bear to give up the welfare rations, he’s angry and about to kill me to silence me?!
A coat draped over his shoulders, carrying with it the lingering warmth that belonged to Li Lingfeng, completely shutting out the cool breeze from outside. The size of the coat was much too large for Jian Chengxi, but it fit him just right, wrapping him up in it.
Li Lingfeng’s voice was low and commanding, “It’s chilly downstairs. Go rest upstairs.”
Jian Chengxi blinked. Sometimes, he felt like he couldn’t quite figure out this man, but now, he found a bit of courage. “Why… why did you have the deputy general supplement my basic welfare?”
Li Lingfeng leaned against the window, his voice low and measured. “Was it not because of those 500 coins that you’ve been upset all this time?”
Jian Chengxi instinctively retorted, “I haven’t!”
“Is that so?” Li Lingfeng said slowly. “From what I can tell, even when you found out I was dead back then, you probably didn’t feel as upset as you do now.”
“W-well, that’s not it,” Jian Chengxi said, feeling a bit guilty as he looked away. He quickly added, “I’m not that heartless. It’s just that you don’t understand how hard it is to make ends meet. I just think it’s a shame, that’s all. It’s not because I can’t part with the 500 coins.”
Li Lingfeng raised an eyebrow. “Is that so?”
Jian Chengxi thought it was the perfect moment to show his resolve. “Yeah!”
Li Lingfeng, unhurried, made a move as if to activate the communicator. “Then I’ll contact the adjutant and tell him not to give you…”
Jian Chengxi’s eyes widened in panic, and he quickly covered his hand. “Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing? You—You can’t go back on your word! You’re the General! Once you say something, you can’t just change your mind!”
His greed for money slipped out, revealing his true nature at that moment.
Jian Chengxi finished speaking and looked up, only to unexpectedly meet a pair of eyes that held a hint of a smile.
“……”
Wait, was he being played here…
Damn it, no proof!
The usually stern and dignified general, who never smiled or showed much emotion, now watched his little wife chatter away. His icy, mountain-like demeanor seemed to have softened considerably.
Jian Chengxi, a little annoyed, withdrew his hand, but his fair and delicate face still held a trace of stubbornness. “I… I was mainly worried you’d lose face in front of your subordinates.”
Li Lingfeng raised an eyebrow, a barely noticeable smile tugging at his lips. “Hmm.”
Jian Chengxi: “……”
Damn it!
Why did he feel like he had been completely seen through?!
Later that evening, he had thought Li Lingfeng would stay the night, but to his surprise, the man seemed as busy as ever. He didn’t stay, leaving only a few soldiers outside to stand guard before leaving.
Jian Chengxi realized that he hadn’t slept for nearly two days and nights. Everyone said the general was imposing and powerful, but those who wished to wear the crown must bear its weight.
He had overheard part of the conversation outside the window earlier.
A sense of quiet contemplation settled in his heart.
The system suddenly popped up and said:【Host, are you feeling sorry for your man?】
Jian Chengxi immediately replied, “Can you not be so cheesy?”
The system, unbothered, responded with:【Not now, but it will be in the future.】
Jian Chengxi walked upstairs, speaking as he went, “Don’t go around saying things. I don’t think General Li is that kind of person. He doesn’t seem to have those more worldly desires. I think that’s a good thing, right? You should be happy for me, because keeping mutual respect like this doesn’t seem so bad.”
The system: “……”
Jian Chengxi was puzzled. “Why aren’t you saying anything?”
The system replied: 【I’m mourning for you.】
Jian Chengxi: “……”
I’ll dismantle you sooner or later.
The nights in the underground city always seemed a bit long with the daytime stretching much longer than the night.
Today was the day they had planned to move. Li Lingfeng had said he would come by in the evening, so Jian Chengxi had to take care of things during the day. The things they were moving had already been packed up, and today, the main task was to handle the withdrawal procedures for the two children from school.
The morning sunlight was especially bright.
Jian Chengxi carried Li Chen in his arms, holding little Li Suisui by the hand, and headed to the school.
The registration process went smoothly. Students here came and went quickly, and the school had a constant flow of people. In a slum like this, it seemed that at any given moment, some family was facing a sudden misfortune.
But…
When they were handling the withdrawal, the teacher’s gaze toward them seemed a bit off.
Jian Chengxi couldn’t help but speak up, “Do you have something to say?”
The teacher immediately snapped back to reality, quickly saying, “No, no!”
Jian Chengxi: ?
Something feels off with you.
However, the teacher’s gaze still seemed strange, as if she wanted to say something but then held it back.
Jian Chengxi, nonetheless, handed her the fruit he had brought along and said, “Teacher, thank you for taking care of our two children during this time. This is just a small token of appreciation, and I hope you’ll accept it.”
The teacher was a bit surprised. She hadn’t expected that Jian Chengxi, even though they were leaving for Sky City, would still remember her.
Jian Chengxi, pulling the children along, said, “Well, we’ll be going now.”
The teacher hesitated for a moment, holding the fruit, before finally speaking up. “Wait a moment!”
Jian Chengxi turned around in confusion.
The teacher quickly leaned in close to Jian Chengxi’s ear and whispered, “A-Hu’s father has been telling people everywhere that Li Chen and Li Suisui aren’t General Li’s biological children. He even said that you and your lover had already been involved and that you got the general ‘green hat.’ He claimed that you killed Wang Zhe to keep it a secret, and now a lot of people in the underground city are spreading these rumors.”
Jian Chengxi was stunned, his eyes wide in shock.
The teacher seemed to hesitate, her voice filled with fear as she added, “Don’t tell anyone I said this. I still have classes, I’ll be going now.”
Jian Chengxi watched her retreating figure, feeling a lump in his throat. He couldn’t believe that he, of all people, was being caught up in a scandal—especially one this ridiculous!! It was absolutely absurd!!
Li Suisui, curious, leaned in closer and asked, “Daddy, what did you and the teacher talk about?”
Jian Chengxi looked at his obedient daughter, suppressing the anger bubbling inside, and smiled as he replied, “Nothing much, just a little chat.”
In his arms, Li Chen quietly spoke, “Liar.”
Jian Chengxi looked at him in confusion.
Li Chen patted his chest, “You’re so mad your heart’s about to jump out.”
Jian Chengxi gave an awkward smile, not wanting the kids to know about such dirty rumors. “No, Daddy’s just feeling hot.”
Li Suisui’s round, big eyes looked at him, and she nodded, saying, “I see! Daddy’s so hot that even his fists are clenched!”
“……”
There really was no need to be that vivid.
In truth, Jian Chengxi had never been one to care much about such things. In his past life, he had been an orphan, hearing many sneers and mockery, so he had learned not to mind.
Yet when it came to the children, that was his bottom line.
No matter how they tried to slander him, he could pretend not to hear it.
But to drag the children into it—that was something he would never tolerate.
…
Jian Chengxi had originally planned to find a time to pay a visit to A-Hu’s father, but to his surprise, just as he entered the village and hadn’t walked far, he saw A-Hu’s father approaching with a group of villagers.
to cross paths.
Even from afar, Jian Chengxi could see A-Hu’s father carrying a basket, walking over, while the people beside him were boasting:
“A-Hu’s dad, your fruit this time is really something!”
“Yes, it tastes so much better than the fruit we picked ourselves.”
“Can you share some of these seeds with us?”
“This fruit will really sell well!”
From a distance, Jian Chengxi saw the remaining fruit in the basket. Just one glance was enough for him to recognize it—these were the fruits from the tree he had cultivated. A while ago, many fruits had been stolen from the orchard. It turned out they weren’t eaten by A-Hu, but had been taken to sell.
Before, he had been raising the children alone, and for their sake, he had endured it.
Now—
Jian Chengxi crouched down and said to his daughter and son, “Daddy just remembered something he didn’t take. Suisui and your gege go home first and find Grandma Li, okay?”
Li Suisui asked, “Daddy, what did you forget?”
Jian Chengxi smiled and said, “Some things I didn’t have time to grab.”
Li Suisui glanced at the people not far away, blinked her big round eyes, and finally obediently nodded. “Okay!”
The usually quiet Li Chen spoke up, “If Daddy can’t find it, then call Father.”
This child seemed unusually clever.
Jian Chengxi patted his head and said, “Got it. Take your sister home and wait there.”
Only then did Li Chen nod.
Watching the two children leave, Jian Chengxi finally stood up and turned to face A-Hu’s father and the others approaching.
A-Hu’s father and the villagers stopped in their tracks, all looking puzzled. Normally, this person always avoided everyone, so why was he stepping forward today?
The group came to a standstill.
A-Hu’s father glanced at Jian Chengxi and smiled. “Well, if it isn’t the General’s wife. I haven’t come looking for you yet, and here you are, taking the initiative to find me. Not long ago, my A-Hu took his pet dog to play with your children, and what happened? Not only did you hurt my dog’s leg, but you also scared A-Hu so badly he wet his pants and had nightmares for days. I want to ask—now that your family’s prospered, you’ve started bullying us common folk just like that?!”
As soon as he said that, it stirred up the villagers’ anger.
A few villagers nearby chimed in in agreement:
“Exactly, Chengxi, you really shouldn’t have done that.”
“We’re all from the same village, after all.”
“A-Hu is just a child, he only ate two of your fruits. That’s not even stealing, right?”
“Isn’t that going too far?”
“Just apologize already.”
Jian Chengxi listened quietly and then raised an eyebrow. “Finished talking?”
Standing on the narrow path at the village entrance, the thinly dressed and plainly clad man held his back straight. Even when outnumbered, even when facing so much doubt, he remained composed.
“What the children did really can’t be called stealing.” He walked over slowly, step by step, finally stopping in front of A-Hu’s father.
A-Hu’s father, watching him approach, subtly took half a step back.
Jian Chengxi picked up the fruit from his basket and said, “Then what if it’s an adult?”
The other villagers exchanged puzzled glances.
A-Hu’s father, his emotions flaring, snatched the fruit back. “What do you mean by that?”
Jian Chengxi looked at him and smiled faintly. “I mean it literally. This is my family’s fruit. Taking it without asking and selling it—doesn’t that count as stealing?”
As soon as the words were spoken, many people widened their eyes in shock!
In the village, gossip spread the fastest and the farthest.
“A-Hu’s father, what’s going on?”
“Didn’t you say you grew these yourself?”
“Is what Jian Chengxi said true?”
A-Hu’s father was a man obsessed with saving face. Facing the scrutinizing eyes of the crowd, he felt incredibly guilty. Yet soon, he realized that all the fruits looked the same—who could remember the exact appearance of each one?!
Thinking this, he quickly stiffened up again and angrily shouted at Jian Chengxi, “Stop talking nonsense here!”
Jian Chengxi wasn’t surprised by his bravado. “I dare you to say you grew these yourself.”
A-Hu’s father forced himself to stand tall. “It’s my own fruit! What’s there to be afraid of?”
The crowd was somewhat persuaded by his strong attitude.
Feeling emboldened, A-Hu’s father looked at Jian Chengxi and sneered. “What’s the matter? Just because your family grows fruit, does that mean you can’t stand to see anyone else’s? Jian Chengxi, aren’t you a bit too confident?”
Jian Chengxi wasn’t at all angered by his words. He simply nodded and said, “If you really grew them yourself, then I’m relieved.”
A-Hu’s father, feeling a little uneasy, looked at him suspiciously. “What do you mean by that?”
“It’s nothing.” Jian Chengxi raised his head and looked at him, saying, “It’s just that our vegetable garden used to get stolen a lot. Since it was always at night and we couldn’t catch the thief, we thought it was some small animals causing trouble. So, we ended up getting some medicine from the doctor and sprayed it on the fruit trees. It’s a slow-acting poison. If someone were to try to undo it, it could be a bit troublesome. Thankfully, it wasn’t you who took them…”
Before Jian Chengxi could finish speaking—
A-Hu’s father shouted loudly, “How do you undo it?!”
Jian Chengxi was confused. “Why are you asking about that?”
A-Hu’s father was completely panicked now. “Hurry up and tell me how to undo it!”
The way A-Hu’s father was now acting—so anxious—was completely different from his earlier arrogance and disdain.
The other villagers, seeing this, quickly realized what was going on. Especially since they were at the village entrance, more and more people slowly gathered around to watch the spectacle.
Jian Chengxi took his time and said, “Well, you haven’t eaten any, so why are you in such a rush? I haven’t even congratulated you on growing such good fruit. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way.”
A-Hu’s father suddenly shouted, “Jian Chengxi, stop!”
Jian Chengxi halted in his tracks.
A-Hu’s father quickly realized that Jian Chengxi was doing this on purpose. With a cold sneer, he cursed, “How could you be so vicious? To think that just because of a little fruit, you could come up with such a nasty scheme to harm others? It’s ridiculous, especially when you’re always pretending to be so virtuous while secretly seducing men, and then giving birth to those two illegitimate children, Li Chen and Li Suisui…”
“Slap!”
The crisp sound of a slap echoed in the air.
Before A-Hu’s father could finish his sentence, his entire face rapidly swelled up, accompanied by a look of disbelief in his eyes. “You dare hit me?”
Jian Chengxi’s own hand stung from the force of the blow but he endured the pain, his expression still cold.
A-Hu’s father, known for his bad temper, immediately charged forward, raising his hand to throw a punch in retaliation. “You dare hit me? Let’s see if I don’t—”
Suddenly, without warning, a stone flew out of nowhere and precisely struck his leg.
“Ow!”
A-Hu’s father lost his balance and immediately fell to the ground, face-first, landing in a humiliating dog-eat-dog fashion. He was usually the bully in the village and he had never experienced such an embarrassing moment.
Jian Chengxi paused for a moment, unable to hold back, and smiled faintly.
At that moment, the crowd heard some commotion and noise coming from not far off at the village entrance.
Along the main road to the capital, rows of soldiers stood in perfect formation. The armored soldiers were lined up with military precision, and in the center of it all walked a tall, handsome man—Li Lingfeng. Dressed in a deep blue marshal’s uniform, he exuded authority. Beside him was a man, bowing and scraping, seemingly apologizing or explaining something.
The group grew closer and closer.
The villagers had never seen such a display before, and they instinctively stepped aside, their gazes filled with awe and a little fear as they made way for the procession.
As Li Lingfeng approached Jian Chengxi, he stopped in front of him and spoke in a deep voice, “What’s going on here?”
Jian Chengxi hadn’t expected him to arrive, but given the current situation, there was no choice but to explain. He spoke briefly, though his words were sharp, “A-Hu’s father stole fruit from our home and has been spreading rumors that Li Chen and Li Suisui aren’t your biological children. I came here to confront him.”
As he spoke, there was a hint of nervousness in his voice.
Jian Chengxi was afraid that Li Lingfeng wouldn’t believe him, or worse, that he would blame him for stirring up trouble.
Li Lingfeng’s gaze darkened significantly as he coldly looked at A-Hu’s father in the distance. “Is that so?”
A man who had spent years on the battlefield exuded an innate aura of authority, his presence alone intimidating without the need for anger.
It felt as though the atmosphere had shifted to that of an interrogation room in a prison.
A-Hu’s father broke out in a cold sweat, instinctively trying to defend himself. “I didn’t! I didn’t steal your fruit! What reason would I have to steal your fruit?!”
Jian Chengxi retorted, “My fruit sells better than yours, it’s more profitable, so you’re jealous.”
A-Hu’s father, a man who valued face above all, was immediately provoked and filled with anger. “You’re talking nonsense! What would I be jealous of? We’re not short on money at home. My husband brought back a lot of supplies…”
The moment his words fell, the entire crowd fell silent.
Because everyone knew, A-Hu’s family had been able to dominate the village precisely because his husband worked as an accountant in the underground city’s finance department.
An accountant.
Why would someone in that position be able to receive so many supplies?
After A-Hu’s father spoke, he realized he had let something slip. His face turned pale with fear as he stammered, “I-I mean…”
Li Lingfeng’s voice was cold and emotionless: “Take him into custody.”
As soon as his words fell, the soldiers in the back swiftly pinned a man to the ground, who had been trying to sneak away. He screamed in panic, “It’s not my fault! Don’t grab me!”
A-Hu’s father stared at him, his eyes widening in disbelief. “Husband?”
The deputy general held down the man on the ground and spoke coldly, “Xue Caiguan, you just said you didn’t know anything but how does your wife know about the extra supplies at home?”
The man on the ground remained silent, gathering his strength before suddenly pushing himself up and attempting to run.
But before he could take more than two steps—
Bang!
No one saw how Li Lingfeng made his move. The man trying to escape was thrown to the ground, and the sound of boots crunching down on his leg was followed by the sickening crack of bone and his anguished scream.
Li Lingfeng looked down coldly, his voice dark and heavy. “Someone’s asking you a question. Why are you running?”
Xue Caiguan, in agony, cried out, “I don’t know anything! I really can’t say anything, please, just let me go!”
Not far away, A-Hu’s father watched in horror as his husband was tortured. He collapsed and screamed, “You, you’re going to kill him, aren’t you? Let go of my husband! Jian Chengxi, is this what you wanted? You bastard, are you doing this on purpose as revenge?!”
After cursing Jian Chengxi, just as his words faded—
Xue Caiguan’s screams rang out again, this time from his other leg.
Li Lingfeng stood there, looking down from his height, his military boots pressing down on the corrupt man beneath him, his expression cold and indifferent.
A-Hu’s father continued to shout, “Jian Chengxi, say something! You think you’re enjoying yourself now, huh? How cruel can you be? You think I’m afraid of you? My husband holds an imperial position, appointed directly by the emperor! He’s protected by the imperial power, I don’t believe you…”
“Ah!”
Xue Caiguan’s agonized screams rang out once again.
This time, it was his arm.
He clutched his arm and writhed on the ground, the pain causing him to scream out beside Li Lingfeng.
Every time A-Hu’s father cursed Jian Chengxi, Li Lingfeng would break another bone in Xue Caiguan’s body. The man was utterly cold and ruthless, terrifyingly mad in his actions.
As it seemed that only one arm remained intact, Xue Caiguan howled in agony, “Stop! Stop hitting me, ow, please, don’t hit me anymore! You brainless fool, how dare you curse his wife?! Do you want to see him kill me before you’re satisfied?!”
A-Hu’s father choked on his words, not expecting his husband to turn on him like that.
He never expected that Li Lingfeng would protect that little bitch so fiercely!
Taking a deep breath, A-Hu’s father spoke up, “General Li, don’t you ever suspect that Jian Chengxi cheated? In the three years you were gone, everyone knew about his affair with Wang Zhe. The children aren’t even yours!”
As more and more villagers gathered around, watching the tragic scene unfold, A-Hu’s father, who valued his reputation above all, felt as though he had been struck by lightning.
It was all over—everything was ruined.
A-Hu’s father half-knelt on the ground, throwing caution to the wind. He shouted, “Heaven help me! This isn’t right! I’ve lived my whole life honestly, never doing anything wrong! My cousin even fought alongside General Li in the war! Now you’ve all prospered, and all I did was steal a couple of fruits, and I’m being beaten like this?!”
“My husband is innocent!” A-Hu’s father wailed. “He only picked up some supplies that others had burned, and now he’s being targeted. Jian Chengxi has always been maliciously targeting our family! Why is my life so miserable?!”
As soon as he said that, the other villagers began to look confused as well.
Just as Jian Chengxi was about to speak up, a small figure ran over from a distance and threw itself into his arms. “Daddy!”
Jian Chengxi caught the child in his arms, surprised. “Suisui?”
Li Suisui’s big, round eyes sparkled with energy, and the pale-skinned child gently nodded.
Jian Chengxi whispered, “What are you doing here?”
In the distance, A-Hu’s father was still wailing, “This is so unjust! You’re not letting us common folk live! General Li’s family is using their power to oppress us…”
Before he could finish—
Li Suisui’s innocent voice rang out, “Uncle, don’t come any closer.”
A-Hu’s father’s wailing abruptly stopped and everyone’s gaze shifted to the child.
Li Suisui hid in Jian Chengxi’s arms, her voice trembling with fear, “Don’t scold Sui Sui, don’t hit gege.”
A-Hu’s father stood there dumbfounded. “You little girl, what are you talking about? When did I scold you? When did I hit you?”
The other villagers turned their eyes toward the scene.
Li Suisui curled up in Jian Chengxi’s arms, turning her small face to one side. Her frail body seemed delicate, like it could be blown away by the wind. In her innocent, trembling voice, she said, “Uncle said Suisui is an unwanted wild child. Suisui even saw Uncle mocking gege, saying how could a cripple like him still go to school. Uncle also brought A-Hu to steal Daddy’s fruit from the garden and even trampled on the seedlings…”
A-Hu’s father choked, trembling as he pointed at Li Suisui. “Y-You’re talking nonsense!”
Li Suisui’s eyes brimmed with tears as she spoke, “Daddy has to go up the mountain every day to gather wild vegetables and sell fruit, but A-Hu even brought his dog to our house to bite Suisui and gege.”
At first, the villagers had felt a bit of sympathy for A-Hu’s father but hearing the child’s words, their anger was instantly ignited.
They knew his family had been bullying others, but they hadn’t realized it had been to such an extent!
Jian Chengxi worked so hard every day—if the children truly were Wang Zhe’s, how could they possibly be bullied like this?
It was clear now that these were just rumors!
Seeing the situation turn against him, A-Hu’s father tried to salvage it. “Everyone, don’t listen to this little brat spouting nonsense, I…”
“I think the one talking nonsense is you!” A trembling, elderly voice rang out. Leaning on a cane, Grandma Li hobbled forward, pulling Li Suisui behind her. She looked at A-Hu’s father with fury. “Suisui is only three years old—how could she lie?”
A-Hu’s father: “……”
He felt completely wronged, truly wronged!
He also wanted to know—who on earth did this little brat take after, to be able to talk like this?!
