Inside the exclusive office of Mirage in the hospital’s.

    The room was eerily silent.

On the largest chair in the room sat a tall and handsome man. His coat was placed beside him, revealing his muscular and well-built arms, on which there were some somewhat horrifying scars.

Mirage finished injecting the inhibitor, and then tried to use the healing powers of the angel clan.

Li Lingfeng’s voice was calm, “It’s useless.”

Mirage looked at him curiously. “Why?”

Li Lingfeng lowered his sleeves and said in a low voice, “After returning from the Zerg nest, I sought out the best military doctor. The healing powers of the angels are useless to me.”

Mirage’s heart sank. “Is there no effect at all?”

    Li Lingfeng nodded.

Mirage looked at the instrument’s readings not far away, which remained high, and his face was also serious. “Did you know, the empire secretly held a medical seminar not long ago, where the main topic was how your army survived in such an environment with no supplies? We later discovered that no matter how many times the exercises were repeated, the result was always tragic.”

Li Lingfeng managed to bring his soldiers out alive, which can only be described as a miracle.

There will be no such miracles again.

Because Li Lingfeng’s very existence is an unreplicable legend.

A person who fought his way out of danger with his own powerful will and overwhelming elven power, his excessively rational guidance, and overwhelmingly strong physique made him the only leader of the empire’s three armies.

Mirage said, “Before you returned, many star systems around our planet were eyeing us warily. After you came back, only then could there be peace for a few years. If news of your unstable mental power spreads, it would be dangerous.”

Li Lingfeng lifted his eyelid and glanced at him, “How much longer do I have?”

    Mirage was choked up.

The room fell into complete silence.

    Finally—

Mirage still said, “The mental power of the beastmen is inherently prone to spiraling out of control. Your mental power was already very high, and now, after the battle with the Zerg, it’s even more precarious. The stabilization of your mental power can only have a temporary effect for these few years. Although there is no immediate danger to your life, it will be quite painful every day, if…”

Li Lingfeng spoke in a low voice, “I’m aware.”

Mirage’s words caught in his throat.

He had thought about persuading him but he didn’t know how to start with comforting words.

    In the end—

Mirage still said, “If you step down now and properly receive treatment, I believe I can stabilize your condition a bit more.”

Li Lingfeng spoke, “If I hand over the military power in my hands, do you think I will still have a life to live?”

The emperor would definitely be the first to take action against him.

The doctor was choked up. He couldn’t refute these words because everything Li Lingfeng said was true.

This world is just this crazy.

Li Lingfeng stood up and put on the coat that was beside him. The man’s body was tall and handsome. He glanced sideways at the doctor and said, “Don’t tell my wife about my matters.”

Mirage said, “Are you planning to keep this a secret forever? Even if you keep it a secret, how long can you keep hiding it?”

Li Lingfeng turned and said, “His mind is simple and he can’t hide things. Even if he knows, it will just be unnecessary worry.”

    Mirage smiled lightly.

His fragile little wife actually single-handedly took care of Byrne.

Yet inexplicably, he felt a bit emotional.

The cold-blooded and heartless youth from before now has someone he cares about.

“Have you ever thought if one day something happens to you, and he has no mental preparation at all?” The doctor said with some concern. “Won’t he be very sad then?”

Li Lingfeng put on his military uniform neatly as he stood under the light. He turned his head sideways and glanced at Mirage. He said, “He won’t.”

    Mirage was stunned.

Li Lingfeng’s gaze, devoid of any emotion, lowered and he stated softly, “I’m afraid being able to get rid of me would be a good thing for him.”

After all, during the years when he wasn’t at home, Jian Chengxi thought about eloping.

After he came back, it was only because of the strong power that he didn’t leave.

Jian Chengxi had always wanted freedom but he wanted to keep him by his side for a few more years.

It’s selfish of him, but so what?

He saved his life back then so he owed him that.

So even if Jian Chengxi didn’t want to, he still had to accompany him.

    The next day.

    The sun was very bright.

A somewhat surprised voice from Jian Chengxi came from the school gate, “What?”

Li Suisui stood beside his daddy and helplessly repeated, “Daddy, the teacher said the school is going to hold a parent-child sports day!”

Jian Chengxi, after hearing this, said with some surprise, “Did the teacher send out a notice?”

Li Suisui nodded and said, “Yes!”

Jian Chengxi took the notice and looked at it. To his surprise, it really was.

There are quite a few events in the registration, such as running, shooting, and surprisingly, even martial arts. These events are fine individually, but putting them together creates too many problems!

Jian Chengxi repeatedly confirmed, “This is for your kindergarten?”

    Li Suisui nodded. “Yes!”

Jian Chengxi fell into silence. He could understand running, but why would there be shooting?!

They happened to be standing here, and when Teacher Li saw them, she took the initiative to come over and warmly recommended, “Mr. Jian, it’s really great that you could come. Our kindergarten’s sports day is very much welcoming the participation of all parents!”

Jian Chengxi asked with confusion, “Do parents also have to participate? Isn’t it just for the kids?”

Teacher Li explained, “Of course not, you have to know that a child’s growth cannot be separated from the parents’ company. The main purpose of this sports day is to bring the children and parents closer together. You can see which events your child would like to sign up for, and then just leave it to the class monitor.”

Jian Chengxi nodded and said, “Okay, I understand now.”

Just as they were about to leave,

Teacher Li quickly stopped Jian Chengxi and whispered, “Mr. Jian, although I really don’t want to say this, I still need to tell you. Please make sure to pay attention to your child’s overall development.”

Jian Chengxi felt a bit puzzled upon hearing this. “What do you… mean by that?”

Teacher Li looked at the two kids in the distance, Li Suisui and Li Chen.

The two kids were playing in the flower bed in the distance, standing side by side while looking at the plants in the flower bed. It looked particularly harmonious, and there seemed to be no problem with that, but they almost never played with the other children. It was as if they were closed off in their own world.

Teacher Li took a deep breath and said, “In class, Suisui shows very little interest in the other subjects. Except for potion class, she has almost no motivation, and she doesn’t interact with the other children either.”

Jian Chengxi was stunned for a moment.

He quickly understood the teacher’s meaning, and turned to look at Suisui for a moment.

Teacher Li said, “I hope, Mr. Jian, that you can guide the child well. Don’t let the child be too out of place. At least don’t let her close herself off—she should participate in more activities for her own good.”

Jian Chengxi nodded and said, “Thank you for your kind reminder, I understand.”

Only then did Teacher Li nod with relief.

After parting with the teacher, Jian Chengxi walked outside. As he walked slowly, he was also slowly digesting the teacher’s words.

Li Suisui’s voice came from a distance, “Daddy!”

Jian Chengxi looked up at her. The little girl in the sunlight had a smile on her face as she pointed at the flowers in the garden. “Look at what Suisui found!”

The other children were just watching from a distance.

Jian Chengxi walked over and asked, “What?”

Li Suisui pointed at the plants in the flower bed and said, “Suisui and gege found some wild vegetables.”

Jian Chengxi looked down, and to his surprise, there were indeed wild vegetables growing in the flower bed. Usually, someone would clean this area but it was probably an oversight this time, and they missed this wild vegetable.

Li Suisui spoke, “Daddy, let’s dig up the wild vegetables and make cakes to eat tonight.”

Jian Chengxi smiled and said, “Daddy can dig this up. Don’t uisui and your brother want to play with the other children?”

    Li Suisui shook her head.

Jian Chengxi thought of the teacher’s words and felt a bit heavy-hearted, but still patiently asked, “Why?”

Could it be because they were being excluded by the other children?

    His heart sank.

    Who would have known—

Li Suisui spoke, “Because the other children are just playing, but the vegetables that Suisui and gege dug up can actually be eaten. It’s much better than what they’re doing!”

    “…”

That seems to make some sense.

Jian Chengxi fully understood. His child was completely pragmatic.

In fact, this should be related to the environment the child grew up in. Suisui and Li Chen grew up in the Underground City from a young age, and because of the original owner’s abuse, they often went without meals, so she naturally didn’t enjoy playing as much as other children.

Jian Chengxi figured this out and understood the root cause of the situation.

“Today, the teacher told Daddy that you can sign up to participate in the sports day competition.” Jian Chengxi got the children into the airship. “Do Suisui and Xiao Chen want to participate?”

Li Suisui looked up at Jian Chengxi. The little girl’s voice was crisp as she said, “Are there any competitions like catching rabbits or potion-making on the sports day?”

Jian Chengxi was stunned for a moment. He then shook his head and said, “No, there isn’t any.”

Li Suisui lowered her head and said, “Then Suisui doesn’t want to participate.”

As expected, if something seems impractical, they don’t want to engage with it.

However, Jian Chengxi didn’t immediately blame the child, he instead patiently accepted the child’s opinion.

The inside of the airship was very quiet.

Jian Chengxi had the two children sit on the sofa, and he gently spoke, “What is the reason Suisui likes potion-making?”

Li Suisui sat on the sofa and her little figure was very small. The little girl’s face had become much rounder recently and her rosy cheeks looked particularly cute. She said, “Because Suisui thinks the queen is amazing, and wants to be an amazing woman like her.”

Jian Chengxi said seriously, “But the queen is not just good at potion-making, you know.”

    Li Suisui was stunned.

“The reason the queen was able to become the queen was because  she can also make magic mirrors and combs, right?” Jian Chengxi counted with his fingers. “Look, she can do many things, right? Not just potion-making.”

He wanted to encourage his daughter to develop in all aspects.

Li Suisui really took it in, and she anxiously said, “Then Suisui…”

Jian Chengxi smiled and said, “So, Suisui should learn more subjects, just like Alice’s craft class.”

Li Suisui seemed to understand. “Suisui understands now. In the future, I will learn more from Alice, and listen to other subjects more.”

Jian Chengxi was deeply moved in his heart. The child finally took his heartfelt advice to heart!

The old father was somewhat excited in his heart, and asked, “Did Suisui understand?”

As expected, children really do need guidance.

Of course, his own daughter was not that kind of antisocial child. Isn’t it obvious that she gets it right away!

Li Suisui nodded. The little girl’s eyes were wide, and a smile appeared on her small face as she looked at Jian Chengxi. “This way, Suisui won’t just be able to make potions, but also make magic mirrors and combs to poison the princess!”

    “…”

    She’s a bit perceptive.

    But not much.

In the evening, they returned home.

The weather recently has indeed become a bit cooler with the autumn wind blowing. Even the courtyard has gained a bit of a chill.

Wang Cai was in the courtyard, playing by chasing a bird that flew by.

After they entered the courtyard, its previously lively legs suddenly became limp. It glanced at the three people who entered with a little grunt, then slowly moved over and circled around Jian Chengxi.

Li Suisui said, “Daddy, Wang Cai is looking for you to give him food.”

Jian Chengxi smiled and said, “Wang Cai, I knew you were hungry. Look at what we brought for you?”

The dragon cub excitedly raised its head. Have the stupid humans finally learned to show respect to the Dragon Lord!

A bag of premium dog food was swaying in the air.

Jian Chengxi looked at Wang Cai with anticipation on his face and said, “Look, this is the new improved version and boss said it has a particularly good taste. You’ll definitely like this, right?”

    The dragon cub: “…”

He had been annoyed today anyway.

    In the evening—

Jian Chengxi held the list of sports day events and looked at it for a while.

He decided that he still needed to discuss it with the kids.

He walked from the corridor on the first floor to the study. He pushed open the door of the room, where Li Chen was sitting at the desk doing his homework.

Jian Chengxi walked over while holding a glass of water. “Are you tired? Drink some water.”

Li Chen looked at him and shook his head.

Jian Chengxi saw Li Chen looking at the design sketches of mechas and warships, and sighed inwardly.

“The school has an event for the sign-up on sports day. Daddy looked through them and thought this shooting event seemed suitable.” Jian Chengxi said softly, “Xiao Chen, would you like to give it a try?”

    Li Chen shook his head.

His personality was always quiet and reserved, and he didn’t like to talk on ordinary days.

Jian Chengxi hesitated and said, “Don’t like it? You don’t need to worry, I’ve seen this shooting event. It’s easy to learn…”

Li Chen listened quietly to him. The boy’s eyes were dark and deep, and after listening, he didn’t say anything.

Jian Chengxi looked at him and felt a bit regretful. He took the form back in his hand and said, “If you don’t like it, then forget it. We won’t sign up.”

Li Chen sat on the chair. His small frame still looked very frail even after arriving in Sky City. Even though Li Suisui had gained some weight, he still seemed so frail, solitary, and immersed in his own world.

This was also the thing Jian Chengxi was most worried about.

Li Chen’s expression was calm. His tender voice was soft, and although his words were said very peacefully, they somehow made people feel a little heartbroken, “Daddy, can a lame person still participate in the sports events?”

    Jian Chengxi was stunned.

It was as if the child who doesn’t cry is always the one who gets overlooked.

Among a group of healthy children, Li Chen bore a completely different kind of pressure, whether sad or in tears. When the other children would cry and make a fuss, he was always silent.

Jian Chengxi’s heart ached sharply for a moment. He crouched down, took Li Chen’s hand, and spoke gently, “Who said you’re a cripple, isn’t Daddy better now? Dr. Mirage will work hard to treat your leg, and it will definitely get better. Xiao Chen, just do what you want to do now, don’t worry about what might happen in the future.”

Li Chen’s voice was soft, “But Dr. Mirage said a couple of days ago that the disability I have is quite serious and it might not be curable.”

Jian Chengxi said in shock, “Where did you hear that from?”

Li Chen calmly looked at him. “When Daddy and Dr. Mirage were talking inside the room, I overheard them.”

He heard such news but he still didn’t cry or make a fuss.

Even if Jian Chengxi hadn’t asked today, he still wouldn’t have said anything.

The little child was just silently bearing it on his own.

    In a daze—

Jian Chengxi seemed to see the shadow of Li Lingfeng in Li Chen. It wasn’t that it didn’t hurt, but he had gotten used to it so he didn’t cry out in pain.

Jian Chengxi took Li Chen’s slightly cold hand and said, “Even if Dr. Mirage can’t treat it, Daddy will find a way to heal it. Dr. Mirage said that the acupuncture method I use is very effective, and from now on, I will give you acupuncture every day and I’ve also thought of some exercises to promote circulation. We’ll do them together from now on, and it will definitely get better.”

He did his best to comfort the child.

Li Chen just quietly looked at him. The boy was silent for a while, and then called out softly, “Daddy.”

    Jian Chengxi responded, “Hmm?”

Those dark and pure eyes clearly reflected his figure.

Li Chen’s voice was soft, “I don’t blame you.”

    Jian Chengxi was stunned.

“My leg, you’ve already tried your best. It’s not better but I don’t blame you.” Li Chen’s childish face showed a maturity that didn’t match his age. He said softly, “Even if you and Father have another child, it’s fine with me.”

Jian Chengxi’s eyes suddenly reddened and his nose ached unbearably. “What nonsense are you talking about?”

Li Chen looked at him in confusion.

“Even if there is only a 1% chance, Daddy will never give up.” Jian Chengxi stood up and said, “Daddy won’t give up, and you can’t give up either. Look at A-Hu and the others, even though they’re looking down on us because they’re healthy, we must respect ourselves. Daddy believes that in the future, you will definitely be better, higher, and more outstanding than them.”

He wanted to encourage his child.

    Yet unexpectedly—

Li Chen said softly, “Even if my leg isn’t better in the future, it doesn’t matter.”

Jian Chengxi thought he had given up, and was about to comfort him, but unexpectedly—

Li Chen’s face was calm, and he even seemed to make an almost dismissive grunt. His childish face wore a nonchalant seriousness. “Even if I have no legs, they still aren’t my match.”

    “…”

He couldn’t even find anything to rebut.

However, he still wasn’t willing to give up on his child’s treatment. Even if the best doctor in the entire empire said it could be given up, he still wasn’t willing to give up.

Jian Chengxi looked at his child and seriously said, “No matter what happens with A-Hu and the others, Daddy’s hope is not for you to surpass them in the future. My only hope is that you can be happy.”

The young boy looked at him. “But…”

Jian Chengxi continued, “Where’s the worry, there are many difficult things in this world. Just like this sports day event, Daddy doesn’t have any athletic talent, but so what. If we don’t persist until the end, who will know the result?”

He wanted to tell his child that even if the hope is faint, you should still carry that last bit of hope and persist.

Li Chen said very seriously, “They all have divine power and racial talents. If Daddy participates, he will lose.”

Jian Chengxi looked at his child and said excitedly, “What’s there to be afraid of. If you don’t believe me, I’ll take first place in the long run this time to show you!”

Li Chen looked at his daddy with slight surprise.

The boy seemed to be influenced by his daddy’s confidence, and tentatively asked, “Really?”

Jian Chengxi regretted saying those bold words, but when he saw the child’s expectant gaze, he felt his scalp tingle. He could only grit his teeth and say, “Of course!”

    Wuwuwu.

How can his mouth be so nasty!

When Li Lingfeng returned from handling official duties at the military, what he saw was his little wife, out of breath and exhausted, having just run a few laps in the courtyard again.

Sweat dripped down from both sides of his head, and he was gasping for breath.

Perhaps because of the sweat, his clothes clung tightly to his body, outlining his slender waist.

Li Lingfeng stopped in his tracks. He saw Jian Chengxi running with Wang Cai happily chasing after him.

    “…”

Jian Chengxi ran with his head down, possibly because his steps were a bit light, and when he saw Li Lingfeng, he almost fell to the ground.

    Li Lingfeng timely caught him.

Jian Chengxi looked up at him with some surprise. “General?”

Li Lingfeng saw that he was exhausted, and asked, “What are you doing?”

Jian Chengxi was gasping for breath and struggling to catch his breath. “I’m… I’m… exercising.”

Li Lingfeng said, “Your body isn’t in good condition, don’t push yourself too hard.”

“That’s not going to work!” Jian Chengxi stood up and said, “I just told Xiao Chen that this time, for the parent-child sports day at the academy, I will take first place. I just tried running a few laps in the courtyard and you wouldn’t believe it, but I ran quite fast. General, what do you think of my speed? Do you think I have a chance at first place?”

    “…”

Li Lingfeng was silent for a moment.

Jian Chengxi noticed his husband wasn’t speaking, and he awkwardly rubbed his nose. “Is it that I’m still lacking a bit in skill?”

Li Lingfeng said, “That’s not it.”

Jian Chengxi let out a sigh of relief. “I knew it, how could I be that bad!”

Li Lingfeng said expressionlessly, “You simply don’t have the skill.”

    Jian Chengxi: “…”

Actually, you could just not say anything.

The two of them stood in the courtyard for a while and the heat from his running had mostly dissipated. Jian Chengxi was no longer hot, and as the cold wind blew, he lowered his head and softly sneezed.

Just as he raised his head, a cloak draped over his shoulders, completely covering him and blocking all the chill from the outside.

Li Lingfeng looked at him and quietly said, “Let’s go inside.”

    Jian Chengxi followed him inside.

In the pot not far away, there was meat he had been stewing. Jian Chengxi walked closer and saw that the meat was almost done, so he turned off the heat. The meat, having lost its fishy smell, now only smelled of pure meat fragrance.

Tonight’s dinner was something simple he would make.

After taking the meat out, he brushed a layer of oil on the pot, then cracked an egg into it. After frying the egg a little, he added water, turning it into a white, egg drop soup. Then he took the dough that had already been cooked and sliced it into the soup.

The knife-cut noodles were very delicious, and he had always wanted to make them.

Yet his knife skills were a bit clumsy, so his movements were slower.

Li Lingfeng came over from the side while tugging at his collar. He said, “I’ll do it.”

Jian Chengxi saw that he had washed his hands to help, so he consciously stepped aside to watch Li Lingfeng work.

Li Lingfeng’s movements were quick and skilled. After taking the knife, the man took the dough and placed it in front of him, then he started slicing the noodles. The dough that was hard to shave and uncooperative in Jian Chengxi’s hands, seemed to be tamed in Li Lingfeng’s hands. With swift movements, it obediently landed in the pot.

Jian Chengxi’s eyes widened. It was as if he had just opened his eyes.

Li Lingfeng quickly finished slicing a bowl of noodles, and turned to look at him. He asked, “Is this how it’s done?”

Jian Chengxi immediately nodded with some surprise, and didn’t hold back in praising, “General, you have such a talent for cooking!”

Li Lingfeng put the knife down and said slowly, “Someone has said that before.”

Jian Chengxi was a bit surprised. “Really? When was that?”

Li Lingfeng looked at the boiling water in the pot and glanced at him. “The first time I used a knife to handle a bounty mission client, my teacher also said this while standing by the pot.”

    “…”

    You two are quite humorous.

Is it really okay to talk about such a terrifying thing so casually!!

    This dinner was very enjoyable.

Both kids especially said that the noodles were sliced very well, and they wanted to learn how to do it in the future.

Jian Chengxi thought to himself, Well, that’s enough. Your Daddy can’t handle it!

    After dinner.

Li Suisui said, “Daddy, the teacher said we should watch the sports day instructional video at home.”

Jian Chengxi said, “Okay, Daddy will play it for you.”

The instructional video was still quite long. It thoroughly introduced each sports event’s rules and explanations to the kids. The two kids watched it with great interest.

Jian Chengxi remembered that he still had to take first place in the race, and he found it hard to sleep. He hesitated whether to go out for a walk and continue running, after all, he felt that it was still early.

Li Lingfeng seemed to have seen through his thoughts and spoke slowly, “If you want to get a good result in the race, just blindly running won’t work.”

Jian Chengxi said, “Then what should I do?”

At this moment, he also realized.

Why should he practice blindly on his own. The  person in front of him is a grand marshal who has led so many soldiers in the military!

Not asking his own man for advice would be foolish!

Jian Chengxi figured out the key point, and eagerly leaned in. His beautiful eyes shone with excitement. “General, will you teach me?”

Li Lingfeng sat in the chair, and upon hearing that, glanced at him. His voice was low and firm, “You really want me to teach you?”

    Jian Chengxi quickly nodded. “Really!”

Li Lingfeng slowly parted his lips, “I’m afraid you won’t be able to handle it.”

Jian Chengxi thought to himself, What’s there to not handle about running? and immediately said, “I can handle it!”

As his words fell, Li Lingfeng’s gaze seemed to change and the corner of his mouth seemed to curve into a slight smile. If there were any soldiers in the military hearing this, they would have said, “Madam, you’re being foolish!”

Yet Li Lingfeng only said softly, “Alright.”

Jian Chengxi inexplicably felt a chill run down his back, wondering if he had been too careless.

However, Li Lingfeng didn’t give him a chance to back out and stood up. He said, “Come with me.”

    Jian Chengxi followed him.

The two of them went upstairs together, and at the far end of the second floor was Li Lingfeng’s usual exercise space. Jian Chengxi had almost never been here and today was his first time here. He didn’t expect it to be this large!

Li Lingfeng walked in and the automatic sliding door opened.

Jian Chengxi could now clearly see the full view inside.

This was a training room that had everything one could need with many pieces of equipment inside and Jian Chengxi couldn’t even name them. They all looked very high-end.

    After a while—

A piercing, miserable scream seemed to echo through the room. Fortunately, the room was soundproof enough so the two kids downstairs didn’t hear his miserable state.

Jian Chengxi sat on the equipment and his whole body was on the verge of tears. “So heavy, so heavy…”

On his two legs were two ankle weights, each weighing 40 pounds.

Jian Chengxi tried to walk, but he found that he couldn’t lift his legs at all. He moved a bit but his legs seemed frozen in place. He looked at Li Lingfeng with a pitiful gaze.

Li Lingfeng walked over and said, “The reason you can’t run fast is closely related to your physical fitness and leg strength. First, get used to this weight and once you’re used to it, walk around the room.”

Jian Chengxi felt like crying but had no tears. How could he have thought of letting Li Lingfeng be his coach. “This is too heavy.”

Li Lingfeng’s expression remained emotionless. “This is already light enough. If you want to get a good result, this is inevitable.”

Jian Chengxi finally witnessed the terrifying side of the iron-blooded marshal.

There was no choice but to honestly try moving step by step in the room. After struggling to complete two laps, he was covered in sweat and he felt his legs were so exhausted that they went weak, almost fainting.

No matter what Li Lingfeng said, he lay down on the ground in one go.

Jian Chengxi was breathing heavily. He looked at Li Lingfeng and said, “I really, I really can’t do it anymore. Let me rest.”

Li Lingfeng looked down at him. “Since you promised the kids to take first place, don’t give up so easily.”

Jian Chengxi just wanted to go back in time and slap himself.

Yet at the same time, he understood that he couldn’t break his promise, so his complaining was just a temporary outburst. He still had to continue practicing.

He sat up tiredly and leaned against the wall. Sweat flowed down his fair cheeks and his face was flushed. His skin looked tender and dewy.

Jian Chengxi panted. His voice was soft and delicate, “I’ll rest for a bit and continue. My legs are so sore and I really can’t move anymore. My stamina is pretty bad.”

Li Lingfeng said slowly, “Hmm, I already knew when you kept saying your legs were sore that day.”

Jian Chengxi asked in confusion, “Which day?”

Li Lingfeng lifted his eyelids and glanced at him.

After a slight delay, Jian Chengxi finally realized, and his little face turned slightly red from embarrassment.

Thi–this person, why is he so shameless!

Jian Chengxi hurriedly coughed lightly to change the subject. “If my stamina is so poor, I really can’t manage more than a few laps with these ankle weights. I think we should take it slow, we can’t start with such high training intensity. Is there something that’s a bit more gradual?”

Li Lingfeng rejected him directly with an expressionless face. “This is already the lightest training intensity in the military.”

    “…”

Jian Chengxi felt somewhat desperate, and tried to stand up from the ground. The weight on his legs wasn’t actually that hard to move with. It’s just that his body’s physical condition was too poor, and he could barely hold on for long. After trying for a long time, he still couldn’t get up.

If he had known, he wouldn’t have made such big promises to the kids.

Jian Chengxi felt like crying but couldn’t, and just as he was thinking about what to do—

From the other side of the room, the man’s voice came again, “If you really want to try another way to train your stamina…”

Jian Chengxi looked up at him, with a hint of expectation.

Li Lingfeng slowly walked over, opened the ankle weights, then looked up at him. His eyes were exceptionally dark and deep and his handsome face carried a hint of dominance. His tall, strong, and powerful body exuded a strong sense of pressure. His voice was low and hoarse as he spoke slowly, “If we change to the method from that night, it’s not impossible.”
