ATIBESLM 3
by starlightxelYe Lingwei didn’t have much of an impression of many people in the book. When he read this novel back then, he skipped around and only read the plot points where the original host appeared so all he knew was the protagonist group.
Text gives people a rich sense of imagery. Although that boy’s presence just now was very strong, Ye Lingwei could almost be certain that he was not the person the original host liked.
The protagonist had used spring breeze, white snow, sunshine, grass washed by drizzle, white sheets hanging on the balcony, and all such beautiful and gentle vocabulary and things to describe the male lead—the person who was looking at him just now, the boy possessing such a gaze, had nothing to do with any of the descriptions above. He was even the extreme opposite.
When returning from the supermarket, the group of boys who were in the corridor earlier had already returned to the classroom. Ye Lingwei subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.
His relaxed mood didn’t even last until he entered the classroom. His steps were blocked and stopped at the classroom door as Ye Lingwei bumped head-on into a short-haired middle-aged woman. The woman paused for a moment, and after seeing clearly that it was Ye Lingwei, she frowned, as if enduring something. After a long while, her face darkened. “Come with me to the office.”
Inside the office.
Ye Lingwei stood in front of the woman. The other teachers in the office were already used to this situation, seeing it almost once every week.
Under such circumstances, Ye Lingwei knew without even thinking that this lady was his homeroom teacher. Beating Zhang Xian to it before she could speak, Ye Lingwei lowered his head and asked in a low, cautious voice, “Teacher Zhang, can I sit down? I… am not feeling very well.”
The boy’s complexion was pale, head lowered, revealing a lean neck and shoulders, like teetering on the verge of collapse. Zhang Xian’s brow furrowed. No matter how unhappy she was inside, she couldn’t really watch someone collapse in the office so she waved her hand, trying hard not to let an expression of disgust show. “Sit.”
Zhang Xian was no longer young. In her mid-forties, she will be able to retire in a few more years. Almost every year, she could be rated as an excellent teacher, and the classes she led were always the ones with the highest advancement rate every year. However, for this year, she wasn’t sure about it because the class had someone like Ye Lingwei dragging them down. Even if sent abroad to be gilded, his physical condition probably wouldn’t allow it.
A student with almost no future and doesn’t need to be cultivated.
However, having someone get into an accident in her own class was even less what she wanted to see. She dealt with the principal all morning before he finally relented. They couldn’t force a student to transfer classes, but if Ye Lingwei requested it himself, he wouldn’t stop it either.
On this point, Zhang Xian was confident. Ye Lingwei’s days in Class 7 were not easy so he would definitely be willing to transfer.
Zhang Xian couldn’t wait to throw out this hot potato.
“Look, whichever class you want to go to, teacher can help you talk to any of them.” Zhang Xian swore this was the gentlest tone she had ever used when speaking to Ye Lingwei.
However, she didn’t know that her current face was as disgusting as the sludge emitting a foul stench in a sewer. Ye Lingwei looked up with eyes shocked, expression incredulous.
After Zhang Xian saw Ye Lingwei reveal an expression completely contrary to her expectations, she felt a slight surprise in her heart. Surely he couldn’t be reluctant to leave, right?
“Teacher is also doing this for your own good. This is a suggestion made after careful consideration. Our class progress is too fast and you are having a bit of trouble keeping up, going to another class with a slightly slower pace might suit you better.”
Ye Lingwei didn’t want to stay in Class 7 either. Even if Zhang Xian hadn’t sought him out to say these words today, he would have thought of a way to get out of this class. Transferring schools wasn’t necessary. He wasn’t afraid of anyone, he just wanted to trample all those who looked down on the original host under his feet and crush them ruthlessly to death.
One must fulfill the duties of one’s position. After all, it was also to make his own life a little more comfortable.
Ye Lingwei also really couldn’t figure it out. The original host had a wealthy family background so why would he have such a submissive nature? He didn’t disdain it, but was rather curious.
“Take a look, which class do you want to go to? Teacher will go talk about it for you.” Ye Lingwei didn’t speak, so Zhang Xian took it as his tacit approval.
Ye Lingwei was a newcomer who didn’t know a single person yet. Moreover, he understood each class even less so he casually decided, “Teacher, I choose Class 1.”
After he finished speaking, he saw Zhang Xian reveal a meaningful look, but very quickly, happiness and cheer replaced it. Class 1’s homeroom teacher had no temper and was very easy to talk to, so she told Ye Lingwei to go back to the classroom right now to pack his things while she would go talk to Class 1’s homeroom teacher at the same time.
It wasn’t much different from acting first and reporting later.
Actually, there was another reason that made Zhang Xian so impatient. Ye Lingwei had a heart condition and with the attack yesterday, she had barely closed her eyes all night. If an accident really happened in her class, her career would be considered over. Well, if she could get Ye Lingwei off her hands quickly, she would do so.
Ye Lingwei walked out of the office and received a call from Ye Cen. The contact was saved as ‘Da-ge’.
Before he could speak, Ye Cen’s voice threw a sentence straight down. “I don’t care what your grades are like, don’t cause trouble for me at school.”
It was one thing for Zhang Xian to be like this, but even the original host’s eldest brother was this impatient with the original host. Ye Lingwei once again felt sad and sorrowful for the original host.
“It’s clearly them bullying me.” Ye Lingwei stood at the corner of the stairwell, face revealing grievance and tone also aggrieved. He was very in character. Even if he wasn’t in front of anyone, he could still reveal expressions and demeanor that moved people.
His appearance was already extremely beautiful. When this appearance was deliberately embellished, it was just like a pear blossom drenched by rain.
Ye Cen froze and the ink pen in his hand accidentally scratched a heavy line on the paper. Ye Lingwei had been reticent since childhood, when had he ever spoken to him in such a tone?
No matter how Ye Lingwei lost face for the Ye family or how disappointing he was, Ye Cen had to admit that in this moment, his heart softened.
However, at the same time, he also deeply knew Ye Lingwei’s nature—unambitious, letting himself degenerate, not cherishing his own body…
Ye Cen’s tone was stiff. “When talking about other people’s problems, remember to first look at your own.”
Ye Lingwei hung up the phone with a snap, displaying his unreasonable trouble-making, rebelliousness, and willfulness to the fullest. At least in Ye Cen’s eyes right now, that was how Ye Lingwei was.
Ye Cen, looking at the phone that had been directly hung up on, was stunned. After a long while, he slammed the phone heavily onto the table. “Little brat, I knew it!”
He originally wanted to curse that a dog can’t stop eating shit, but he held it back. He and Ye Lingwei were born of the same mother so cursing him was equivalent to cursing himself.
—
Ye Lingwei hung up the phone and contentedly stuffed the phone into his pocket. He turned to go downstairs, but as soon as he looked up, he met eyes with that boy he had run into in the corridor at noon.
The boy was alone in the corridor this time, lazily basking in the sun. He didn’t know how long he had been watching Ye Lingwei, but based on the other’s mischievous look, Ye Lingwei could guess that he had definitely heard the whole thing.
He used the corners of his eyes to lightly sweep over Ye Lingwei’s whole body, from the tips of his hair to his toes, scanning it all once.
Ye Lingwei wasn’t afraid of this person. He just felt he was somewhat unfathomable and hard to see through, completely unaware of what the other was thinking. People are always filled with courage and curiosity towards the unknown.
Not to mention, the other person was good-looking.
Ye Lingwei had to admit the point that the other person was good-looking, but unlike the original host’s magnificence, which was like a blooming crimson silk rose, the other possessed a cold and noble air akin to white snow in a sunny spring. That was just the appearance. However, his gaze was like a handful of stagnant water in a deep well—deep and treacherous.
However, this didn’t mean that Ye Lingwei was afraid.
He walked down the stairs step by step, intending to pass in front of the boy without looking sideways. As he expected, he wasn’t called out to, but Ye Lingwei stopped in front of the boy himself.
Ye Lingwei turned his body sideways, turning his head and slightly raising his chin with a hint of arrogance. “You are looking at me. Am I good-looking?”
Fei Lan lifted his eyelids to look at Ye Lingwei. After a long while, he answered, “Average.”
His voice really was really like water from a frigid pool, cold soaking into muscle and marrow. However, the words that rolled out, rubbing against his teeth and the tip of his tongue, gently strangled one’s throat.
Ye Lingwei smiled, curving his eyes. “Then why are you still looking?”
The feeling of being stared at by others was very uncomfortable, and this was already the second time in a short period today. Primarily because he couldn’t guess what the other party actually wanted to do, for Ye Lingwei, this boy was a complete unknown.
Fei Lan’s mouth curled at the corner. A faint, almost imperceptible trace of interest flashed in his eyes. “You’re pretty good at changing faces—teach me?”
Ye Lingwei felt the other was mocking him, and his gaze instantly turned cold. He had no interest in bantering with strangers, though if he were someone who judged solely by looks, he would probably be happy to engage with him.
He was just testing him.
Once the test was over, Ye Lingwei dropped it faster than anyone. One could no longer see any trace of that previous smiling and charming demeanor.
Fei Lan watched Ye Lingwei return to the classroom. Gao Linhao had mentioned this person often before, but aside from his looks and features, the reason Gao Linhao brought him up so frequently was entirely because he was chasing their class monitor—or perhaps not exactly chasing, but rather, Gao Linhao had accidentally discovered that the other party liked their class monitor.
What kind of person was the Class 1 monitor? Gentle and kind, upright and handsome, hardworking and ambitious. Gao Linhao didn’t believe for a second that their class monitor would ever respond to the other’s feelings.
Anyway, there was nothing fresh at school. Since matters as small as sesame seeds were kept in his mouth and muttered about all day long, Fei Lan found it difficult not to have an impression.
Ye Lingwei…
The name sounded familiar to him, but as for the person…
Completely brand new.
