So it was him! Beo-deul’s face lit up, and he accepted the friend request without hesitation.

Using the friend chat to signal acceptance, guild members on his friend list started reacting in confusion.

[Friend] Yuka Principles: Huh, Gireumyu, did you friend someone outside our guild?

All this fuss over friending one player? Beo-deul reflected on how uptight he must’ve seemed to his guildmates until now.

Realizing he was still typing in the wrong channel, Beo-deul switched to whisper. Since Sinu used whisper too even after friending him, it felt like he should follow suit.

[Whisper/Sinu] Gilmyu: I’m about three maps away, I’ll be there soon!
[Whisper/Sinu] Sinu: No rush.

[Guild] Tangshushuk: Gilmyu just went to Vessell.
[Guild] WishUponA: Wait, are you going to White Moon Garden? You hit the jackpot last timeㅠ
[Guild] Yuka Principles: Omg can’t miss this spicy content~~

How do they know everything? Just from the map location? Beo-deul was a bit creeped out by how well his guild could guess his actions. Is this what it’s like to be a veteran?

[Whisper/Sinu] Gilmyu: You’re here already?

Beo-deul quickly opened the map and teleported to the nearest village. He wasn’t sure why they were meeting, but assumed it was just to hang out after friending.

[Whisper/Sinu] Sinu: You’re here.
[Whisper/Gilmyu] Gilmyu: Hello!

As the guild scrambled to follow him, Beo-deul reached the Garden first and saw Sinu. The character looked nothing like BreadwinnerGirl. A male avatar with silver hair, blue eyes, and a neat hanbok, Sinu looked serene and elegant.

As Sinu approached, his white-and-blue dopo fluttered in the wind. Snowflake effects sparkled with every step.

“Wow.”

Beo-deul couldn’t help but gasp. Shnu was wearing the rare Old Special Coordination outfit from head to toe. Even his weapon shaped like a fan radiated a powerful aura.

“Purple glow… is that +20?”

The eerie purple flame-like effect could only mean one thing: max enhancement. +20. Beo-deul blinked in disbelief.

[Guild] WishUponA: I got here first~!
[Guild] Yuka Principles: Second~~~
[Guild] WishUponA: Wait, is this someone Gilmyu knows??
[Guild] Yuka Principles: ??????????

Seeing the rapidly scrolling chat, Beo-deul spun his character around. Near the portal stood two other characters, both bearing the ‘Moon Dream’ guild emblem WishUponA and Yuka Principles.

Before Beo-deul could explain, another message came up:

[Guild] Yuka Principles: Whoa, Sinu is here?!

The tone felt like someone spotting a celebrity. “Dude, I just saw XX!”

‘Wait… do they know each other?’

[General] Gilmyu: Do you guys know each other?
[General] Sinu: ?
[Guild] Yuka Principles: LOL noooo it’s not like that Gilmyu!!!! I was just surprised;;

Surprised by what? Beo-deul didn’t get it and left his character idle.

It clicked. Sinu had thought they had come together.

[General] Gilmyu: They’re guildmatesㅋㅋ I’m actually here to open a Special Chest.
[General] Shinu: Ah, guild…

Only now did Shinu seem to notice the guild emblems above everyone’s heads.

What do i even say in situations like this? Unsure, Beo-deul made his character sit. Meanwhile, guild chat kept firing off.

[Guild] Yuka Principles: Uh…

Though the comments were brief, Beo-deul sensed Yuka glancing between him and Sinu nervously.

Wanting to break the silence, Beo-deul double-clicked his Special Chest.

Huh? Absentmindedly clicking through the confirm windows, Beo-deul’s eyes widened. A Special-grade item on the first try?

Whispers poured in from unfamiliar nicknames.

Beo-deul had seen his name in world chat before, but never with this level of buzz. He replied to each whisper a little dazed.

[General] WishUponA: Someone said they’d buy it for 2 billion earlier!
[General] Yuka Principles: Wow crazy;;
[General] Sinu: It’s definitely good.

Even quiet Sinu agreed. Beo-deul beamed so it was great!

[General] WishUponA: Oh, but Sinu’s already wearing it…
[General] Sinu: Yep.
[General] Yuka Principles: Didn’t that drop today?
[General] Sinu: Got it by chance.

So he already had it… Beo-deul drooped slightly.

After that, the chat fell into an awkward lull again.

[Guild] ChickStare: ??? So what’s the deal? Why is Sinu here? Why the sudden Special drop?
[Guild] Tangshushuk: Where is that?? I wanna open mine next to Sinu, feels lucky lol
[Guild] Yuka Principles: LMAO Sinu’s not some totem or somethingㅋㅋㅋㅋ

While the guild chatter remained light and funny, the contrast with the IRL-like awkwardness Beo-deul felt in-game made him uneasy. It was uncomfortable seeing people casually gossip about someone who was right there.

Beodeul glanced over at Shinu, now sitting beside his character.

[General] Gilmyu: Of course…

Unaware of Beodeul’s inner turmoil, his avatar just smiled.

[General] WishUponA: Hold on! Let me sit next to Gilmyu and try a few tooㅠㅠㅠㅠ
[General] Yuka Principles: Figures…
[General] Gilmyu: Sureㅋㅋ come on over.

WishUponA ran over and politely sat beside Gilmyu, using a “prayer” emote. Yuka shook her head in response.

[General] WishUponA: Sinu, do you… have any chest-opening secrets?
[General] Sinu: ?
[General] Sinu: Me?
[General] WishUponA: Yeahㅋㅋ Totally okay if not^^…

[General] Sinu: Open them when it feels right.

WishUponA let out a sigh and started opening chests again.

‘When it feels right, huh…’

It sounded silly something most would laugh off. But Beo-deul took it surprisingly seriously and glanced over at Sinu.

‘Now?’
