Chapter 74 – Extra: Special Bonus ABO Chapter (Pregnancy)
by Salted Fish
This summer, the Guan Conglomerate shocked the world with a stunning revelation: Guan Heng had not only usurped Guan Zhao’s position as CEO, but he had also taken a business associate from Zhoujishi Trade as his partner.
Ye Zhou could not hide his identity for long; the media soon dug up every detail about him. They were all surprised to discover that Ye Zhou was actually an Alpha.
Fang Ji was dumbfounded, and even the company’s top brass was startled. They immediately rushed to the sales department to show their concern. Although this did not qualify as a commercial marriage alliance, it was essentially close enough. As long as Ye Zhou remained with Zhoujishi Trade, he would continue to bring benefits to the company. Other companies began to eye Ye Zhou, considering luring him away with high salaries.
Ye Zhou suddenly became incredibly sought after, his status rising along with his popularity.
But all Ye Zhou wanted was to be a diligent salesman. Moreover, the Guan Conglomerate needed to protect Guan Heng’s status as an Enigma, a special gender. They promptly applied pressure on the media to prevent any leaks, effectively silencing the uproar before it could spread to the public. Everything soon returned to calm.
Although Ye Zhou remained an ordinary office worker, after marrying Guan Heng, he naturally moved into a luxurious mansion.
Guan Heng was still very busy, but he significantly reduced his working hours, breaking his habit of frequently staying overnight at the company. He made sure to return home every night.
One day, over a year after their wedding, Ye Zhou woke up in the middle of the night with a stomachache. As an Alpha, he had always been healthy, rarely experiencing such symptoms. Initially, he assumed it was due to eating raw seafood the previous night, so he took some antacids. However, the pain persisted despite the medication, leaving him no choice but to wake Guan Heng.
Guan Heng promptly called their family doctor, but feeling that wasn’t enough, he also summoned the heads of departments from two major hospitals.
Ye Zhou thought Guan Heng was overreacting, but the pain left him pale and unable to argue further.
The three doctors arrived swiftly at the mansion, working through the night while conducting a thorough examination of Ye Zhou. Despite their fame outside, they now wore grave expressions as they looked at Ye Zhou.
The pain subsided after just fifteen minutes, possibly due to the delayed effect of the antacids. However, seeing the doctors’ solemn faces, Ye Zhou wondered if he might be suffering from a terminal illness.
Guan Heng broke the silence, “What’s the diagnosis?”
The doctors exchanged glances, unsure how to proceed. They were among the few who knew Guan Heng was an Enigma, having signed confidentiality agreements. Though they had heard rumors about Enigmas, encountering such a situation in their careers was unprecedented. Finally, the more experienced doctor spoke, “Congratulations, Mr. Ye, you’re pregnant.”
Guan Heng was stunned.
Ye Zhou was equally shocked, the news hitting him like a bolt of lightning. “Isn’t it just gastroenteritis?”
He wasn’t unaware that Enigmas had the ability to impregnate Alphas, but since there had been no signs previously, the sudden announcement was hard to accept.
“No,” the doctor explained patiently, “because an Alpha’s body isn’t naturally suited for pregnancy, early stages might cause some discomfort. This is a normal phenomenon.”
Guan Heng quickly regained his composure, taking Ye Zhou’s hand and gently stroking the back of it. Despite his usual calm demeanor, his joy was evident. “Thank you.”
After personally escorting the three doctors out, Guan Heng returned to sit beside Ye Zhou, who was still in a daze from shock. “Zhouzhou, aren’t you happy?”
“No,” Ye Zhou hurriedly clarified, fearing a misunderstanding. “I’m just… too surprised. I didn’t expect…”
If he told others that an Alpha like himself was pregnant, they might think he had lost his mind. Indeed, Ye Zhou felt a sense of unreality; he couldn’t believe he was truly capable of becoming pregnant.
Guan Heng wrapped his arm around Ye Zhou’s waist, tenderly caressing his belly. “I knew that an Alpha’s pregnancy would be difficult, but I’ve waited for this day for a long time. Ye Zhou, I’m actually a selfish person.”
When Ye Zhou heard Guan Heng say this, his heart softened. People were inherently selfish, prioritizing their own interests. But Guan Heng never hid these thoughts, always openly sharing them with him. Honestly, Ye Zhou didn’t dislike this; it made him feel genuinely loved. Holding Guan Heng’s hand, he finally began to grasp the reality of his pregnancy, even though he remained silent.
While the doctors’ diagnosis was unlikely to be wrong, the household medical equipment was limited, making comprehensive examinations impossible. Therefore, Guan Heng arranged for Ye Zhou to undergo a proper health checkup at the hospital. As the CEO of a multinational corporation, every second of his time was precious, yet he personally accompanied Ye Zhou through the entire process.
The results came back the next day, confirming that Ye Zhou was indeed pregnant, just four weeks along, with no visible changes yet. But as time passed, his well-defined abs would gradually soften into a rounded belly.
Ye Zhou was somewhat distraught upon hearing this. Could an Alpha without abs still be considered an Alpha?
Guan Heng, I hate you QAQ…
Guan Heng wanted to laugh but held back, consoling him instead, “Abs can be regained with exercise.”
Ye Zhou felt aggrieved. “You make it sound so easy.”
Guan Heng sensed a slight change in Ye Zhou’s personality after becoming pregnant, as if he had become softer. But it could have been his imagination. “Then I’ll work out with you.”
It was easy for Guan Heng to say, given his regular boxing routine, which made exercise effortless for him.
Upon hearing this, Ye Zhou was momentarily stunned, not because of anything Guan Heng said, but because he realized he had been unreasonably demanding. Orphaned at a young age, he had grown independent, never relying on anyone. Yet, why had he acted so childishly toward Guan Heng…
The word ‘childish’ flashed in Ye Zhou’s mind, shocking him. He coughed, feigning nonchalance as he uttered a soft ‘uh-huh,’ trying to maintain his Alpha persona.
An Alpha’s pregnancy was an exceedingly rare case, especially during the first trimester, requiring extra caution. Given Ye Zhou’s circumstances, Guan Heng could not allow him to continue his fieldwork. If his growing belly were noticed by colleagues or clients, explanations would be complicated. After discussion, they decided that Ye Zhou would temporarily go on unpaid leave.
After Ye Zhou’s pregnancy, his hormones changed. Previously, Guan Heng had needed to mark him daily to leave his scent, but now it seemed unnecessary. Their pheromones appeared to have fused due to the bond of new life, creating a temporary harmony. Though aware this connection might fade after Ye Zhou gave birth, it pleased Guan Heng, giving him a sense of fulfillment in marking Ye Zhou.
Over the past year of marriage, Guan Heng had gotten used to biting Ye Zhou daily. Now, although it was no longer required, he still enjoyed sniffing and rubbing against Ye Zhou’s glands.
Every pregnant Omega instinctively relied on their Alpha. But Ye Zhou was an Alpha, self-reliant and strong-willed, certainly not dependent on his partner – or so he thought.
As time went on, Ye Zhou distinctly felt his personality and thoughts transforming, a change driven by instinct and an unstoppable force. Like an Omega, he started enjoying the smell of Guan Heng’s clothes, seeking remnants of his scent. He would feel a dip in mood when Guan Heng left for work, eagerly anticipating his return each day, craving more intimate physical contact.
But Ye Zhou wouldn’t admit this. Showing vulnerability was beneath an Alpha, so he became somewhat awkward. Whenever Guan Heng came home, Ye Zhou yearned to pounce on him but restrained himself with Alpha-like self-control, acting as if nothing was amiss. Even Ye Zhou himself couldn’t understand why he behaved this way, far from his usual decisive and efficient self.
Ye Zhou began harboring small grievances, yet refused to voice them.
Meanwhile, Guan Heng, who seemed so chaste and proper, significantly reduced intimacy after Ye Zhou’s pregnancy.
One day, Guan Heng noticed a slight wrinkle on his sleeve. Although barely noticeable, it stood out compared to his usually impeccably pressed clothes. Since Ye Zhou began spending his days at home due to pregnancy, he took over simple household chores, including ironing Guan Heng’s suits. As a salesperson, Ye Zhou was skilled at ironing. Guan Heng didn’t blame Ye Zhou for this minor oversight, not mentioning it. However, when he found his shirts consistently left with unironed creases for several days, Guan Heng grew curious.
So one evening, while Ye Zhou was ironing clothes, Guan Heng stealthily stood outside the door, peering through the crack. At first, Ye Zhou appeared no different than usual, his movements practiced. But then, Guan Heng saw Ye Zhou deliberately crumple the sleeve of his shirt after ironing it. Following this, Ye Zhou seemed slightly annoyed, re-ironing the sleeve until it was smooth again. He repeated this action multiple times, continuously crumpling and ironing the same piece of clothing, as if tormenting it endlessly.
Guan Heng initially thought Ye Zhou might be upset with him, perhaps due to late returns home or lingering resentment over the pregnancy. But when Ye Zhou picked up his shirt to sniff it, Guan Heng instantly understood – Ye Zhou wanted to smell his pheromones.
Guan Heng had long prevented anyone from smelling his scent, accustomed to concealing his pheromones, leaving little trace. However, he overlooked that Ye Zhou, in his current state of pregnancy, desperately needed reassurance from his partner.
After silently observing for a while, Guan Heng could guess why Ye Zhou hadn’t confided in him. It was due to his Alpha nature, causing him to feel awkward.
To Guan Heng, however, Ye Zhou’s emotional side was endearing, seeming genuinely softer.
He didn’t expose Ye Zhou on the spot, choosing instead to quietly leave. After all, preserving an Alpha’s dignity was important.
That night, while sleeping, Guan Heng took the initiative, hugging Ye Zhou and subtly releasing his pheromones. Ye Zhou, sensing comfort, instinctively leaned into Guan Heng’s embrace, cautiously inhaling his scent, as if afraid of being caught.
Guan Heng chuckled inwardly, pulling Ye Zhou closer and kissing him on the lips, then resting their foreheads together in a loving gesture. If Ye Zhou didn’t want to be discovered, he would take the lead.
They slept in each other’s arms, with Guan Heng using his pheromones to soothe Ye Zhou throughout the night.
Ye Zhou’s recent awkwardness and anxiety dissipated, allowing him to sleep soundly, clutching onto Guan Heng tightly even in his dreams.
When Guan Heng woke up in the morning, he gazed at Ye Zhou for a while, kissing his forehead before reluctantly leaving the bed to freshen up. Intentionally, he left his scent on a pillow, allowing Ye Zhou to hold onto it and sleep a little longer.
For the first time, Ye Zhou didn’t see Guan Heng off to work. Upon waking, he was momentarily confused about oversleeping.
But his mood was unusually good today, subconsciously carrying the pillow around wherever he went.
As Guan Heng approached home from work, Ye Zhou hesitantly tossed the pillow back onto the bed, pretending nothing had happened.
Guan Heng noticed the pillow, now crumpled by Ye Zhou, and couldn’t help but smile. Outside, he continued to suppress his pheromones, but at home, he no longer needed to do so, leaving his scent on objects Ye Zhou frequently touched. Occasionally, he would find Ye Zhou following him around, drawn by his scent.
Perhaps due to his improved mood, Ye Zhou’s pregnancy discomforts gradually diminished, and his belly finally began to grow.
Guan Heng had learned how to comfort Ye Zhou, with kisses and hugs becoming commonplace. He recognized when Ye Zhou struggled to ask for intimacy, so he had become adept at sweet talk: “Zhouzhou, you’ve been so cold to me lately.”
If someone witnessed Guan Heng’s excessively tender behavior, they would be astonished.
However, Ye Zhou, being straightforward, retained his Alpha’s overwhelming possessiveness and protective instincts even during pregnancy. His partner needed him!
Ye Zhou felt immensely gratified, overflowing with happiness. Pregnant Alphas were that easy to please!
Their affectionate relationship continued until the day Ye Zhou went into labor. Guan Heng tightly gripped his hand, repeatedly kissing it, attempting to alleviate his pain and anxiety.
Ye Zhou noticed Guan Heng’s trembling hands, which were even shakier than his own, and suddenly felt less nervous. He smiled at Guan Heng, reassuring him, “It’s alright, it’s not that painful. I can bear it…”
The obstetrician assisting the delivery was speechless, unsure who was actually in labor.
Indeed, Enigmas were terrifying in every sense.
Eventually, Ye Zhou delivered the baby successfully. The gender would remain unknown until differentiation occurred, but it was a cute boy, with eyes resembling Ye Zhou’s, and a nose and chin more like Guan Heng’s. He would undoubtedly grow into a handsome man.
But after Ye Zhou gave birth, the bond between him and Guan Heng remained unbroken. Perhaps it was due to blood ties or the large amount of pheromones Ye Zhou had absorbed from Guan Heng during pregnancy.
A faint tooth mark, almost invisible, eternally marked Ye Zhou’s nape.
