Chapter 134 – I Am Legend
by Salted Fish[Megaphone] Milk is Mom: I’m warning you all not to come any closer! If you take one more step, I’m gonna scream for help! Someone! Anyone alive out there?! What the hell is going on?! I’m so scared [crying]
[Huaxia] War-Snow Wolf: Seems like he’s genuinely scared—he didn’t even use his signature tildes.
[Huaxia] Drink Till You Drop: Ghost Server Legion Leader, welcome back ^_^
[Huaxia] Little Lucky Charm: Don’t be scared, Commander! You’re a legend!
After listening to his comrades’ explanations on YY, Fang Zheng finally pieced together what had happened. It turned out that on New Year’s Eve, Huaxia Online had launched a “Returning Veterans” event targeting accounts that hadn’t logged in for over six months. When they logged back in, these accounts would receive generous rewards.
There were many reasons why veteran players left—some were too busy with real life, some lost interest due to lack of updates, and others couldn’t endure the increasingly dead servers. Among them, 90% would never voluntarily return. Once the habit of daily logins was broken, it was hard to pick it back up, especially when there were so many other entertainment options out there. But the lure of rewards changed things, especially since Huaxia had just undergone a major update. For those who hadn’t played in half a year or longer, this was practically a fresh start. The event was a huge success, with old accounts logging in daily. Players from servers that had been merged naturally ended up on the new servers—like Mirage Server.
Seeing the event’s success, the game company doubled down and launched a New Player Reward Package a few days later on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year. This not only brought back veterans but also attracted a steady stream of new registrations.
And so—
Veteran players from the original Mirage Server logged in to find their server had become Huaxia Summit. While processing their mixed feelings, they immediately went to the forums to search for their server’s glorious achievements—or dark history—to get up to speed. What they discovered was that Huaxia Dominion was on the verge of collapse, and while Five Peaks Pavilion remained the top legion, it couldn’t overshadow the brilliance of the Ghost Server Legion.
What was the Ghost Server Legion? A miraculous organization that rose against all odds, a group capable of leading elite squads like Five Peaks Pavilion and Meteor Blitz through endgame dungeons, a force that had been forcibly merged from Mirage Server but refused to fade into obscurity! Most importantly, their leader was none other than Milk is Mom, a player from the original Mirage Server! This rags-to-riches story—from a humble vending stall outside the Main City to becoming the leader of a god-tier server’s top elite legion—was so inspiring it could make you weep!
But Milk is Mom never logged in.
New players, drawn to the prestige of Huaxia Summit, naturally heard tales of the server’s legendary legions. As they leveled up, they witnessed the grandeur of the top-ranked Five Peaks Pavilion, the heroic charisma of its leader Drink Till You Drop, the lively chaos of the second-ranked Meteor Blitz led by the adorably awkward Big H, and the maverick style of the technically elite War Banner Legion. The fallen former king, Huaxia Dominion, was still a topic of discussion. Every piece of news, every organization on the server fascinated them, and they felt proud just being part of it.
But the most legendary of them all—the Ghost Server Legion, rumored to be a bizarre mix of elite skills, unbeatable luck, shameless antics, and zero shame—remained elusive. At best, players might occasionally spot Refined Into a Demon 715, a supposed core member, gathering herbs in the open-world maps. But when asked about the commander, all he’d say was, “He’s amazing, invincible, and really great,” with no further elaboration. Other members logged in sporadically, disappearing before anyone could get a good look. Without a leader, they grew bored and logged off.
And the Ghost Server Legion Leader, Milk is Mom, never logged in.
A legend isn’t about how powerful you are—it’s about how people can never quite get close enough to verify that power. Fifteen days in the real world was an eternity in-game. By the time alts, veterans, and newbies had all reached or nearly reached max level, the still-offline Milk is Mom had become a myth.
[Huaxia] War-Bodhi Patriarch: Dude, if you don’t come back soon, you’ll ascend to godhood.
[Huaxia] Suave Not Sleazy: Some alts are talking about printing out your forum screenshots and worshipping them—they say it’ll increase their drop rates for purple gear in dungeons!
[Huaxia] Big H: Don’t be nervous, sweetie. The kids won’t hurt you. With this much popularity, you should be happy, haha.
[Huaxia] Milk is Mom: So only the newbies are excited to see me? None of you missed me at all~~ TAT
[Huaxia] Milk is Mom: I even thought of you guys while eating yuanxiao~~ Watching them float in the spoon was like seeing your avatars~~ Didn’t you feel my longing~~~
[Huaxia] Summit of Mount Tai: Saying we didn’t miss you would be a lie.
[Huaxia] War-Snow Wolf: To be honest, World Chat is like an ocean. Without your waves, it feels like something’s missing.
[Huaxia] Nicknamed White Dragon Horse: But now that you’re back and making waves again…
[Huaxia] Big H: We realize you’re still as annoying as ever ╮(╯_╰)╭
With his old friends proving unreliable, the Ghost Server Legion Leader had no choice but to establish his authority among the newbies.
Step one: Humility leads to progress—
[Local] Milk is Mom: Alright, alright, everyone disperse. I’m just an ordinary little player, really >_<
Step two: Share the secret to success—
[Local] Milk is Mom: No matter how big or small your legion is, as long as you put your heart into it, it’ll flourish. Back when I refused to leave Mirage Server, it was because of my deep, deep affection for it~~~~~
Step three: Boost personal charm—
[Local] Milk is Mom: Okay, okay, how about I sing a song, and then we all go our separate ways, yeah?
No one agreed, but the commander started anyway…
[Local] Milk is Mom: I’m not Huang Rong~ I don’t know kung fu~ I just want Brother Jing~ A perfect love~~ 0_<
[Local] Milk is Mom: I’m not Huang Rong~ I daydream all day~ Singing love songs at night~ Even heartbreak makes me brave~~ 0_<
When an expert makes a move, you know it’s over.
The entire field fell silent.
A long, long time later, a clueless newbie gathered the courage to ask—
[Local] Fansero: Can someone explain what the hell that last thing was…
An even longer time later, another clueless newbie hesitantly replied—
[Local] Night Rose: Maybe… probably… I think… it was a wink.
Before meeting someone, a thousand people imagine a thousand Hamlets.
After meeting them, a thousand Hamlets slap themselves in the face—Damn, you were so naive!
[Huaxia] Leaves Fall on Chang’an: Why’d the channel suddenly go quiet?
[Huaxia] Kill All Who Block Me: Milk Mom’s using Local Chat in the open-world map. Probably having a blast interacting with his fans.
[Huaxia] War-Sorrel: But I’ve got a bad feeling about this =_=
[Huaxia] War-Sister Liuli: According to insiders, the fans are currently undergoing a worldview collapse.
[Huaxia] Drink Till You Drop: Alright, folks, enough chit-chat. The Dimensional Rift just spawned. Let’s go!
[Huaxia] Big H: Hell yeah!
While the old-timers wrapped up their roasting session and prepared for serious business, the Ghost Server Legion Leader, now thoroughly satisfied, had no intention of continuing the nonsense. And as luck would have it, a rift had spawned right on the map he was standing on—so close that adjusting his camera angle made the rift’s light nearly white out his screen. Any player standing directly on the rift point was completely swallowed by the light, requiring serious camera adjustments just to glimpse the edge of their outfit.
After half a month, both returning and new players had gotten familiar with the Dimensional Rift mechanics. Seeing it appear right in front of them, they eagerly prepared to jump in. After all, crossing right after the rift spawned significantly reduced the chances of being intercepted by players from the opposing server, who were likely still scrambling to locate it.
The quiet open-world map erupted into chaos. A few bold players had already crossed, while others rallied their friends. Few paid any attention to the shattered legend anymore. Fang Zheng was happy to be left alone and quickly posted the coords in the legion channel, summoning his comrades.
But just as he sent the coords, the rift’s light suddenly intensified, flooding his entire screen with white. Startled, Fang Zheng thought his computer had malfunctioned and was about to call Birdy over to check—when the light faded.
And then came the familiar red.
A fiery, burning red.
But this time, it wasn’t just one.
It was an entire squad.
And they weren’t perched on high ground.
They were right beside him.
No Birds Over a Thousand Mountains!
Fang Zheng didn’t even have time to count how many uninvited guests there were before his eyes locked onto that ID. Almost reflexively, he hurled a Zephyr Jinx at them!
Fang Zheng’s move was like a rallying cry. The dazed newbies and veterans suddenly understood—Holy shit, players from another server had crossed over! What were they waiting for? Kill them!
Since the New Year, Thousand Mountains had led the Dutch Chamber of Commerce to conquer nearly every peak in Huaxia’s servers—except for Summit Server, where they’d only succeeded once. This time, after camping the spawn point for days, Thousand Mountains had hoped to catch them off guard. But the moment he crossed over, he ran into his long-absent old nemesis, and it felt like fate had a twisted sense of humor.
Then he took in the full scene and realized—
Fate hadn’t just narrowed the road.
It had erased it entirely.
Even if they were scrubs, a hundred players could effortlessly annihilate a dozen elite players who’d walked straight into their line of fire. Thousand Mountains’ summit squad was instantly wiped out. Many players on the periphery didn’t even see what happened before losing their chance to land a single hit. When they later learned the victims were the infamous Dutch Chamber of Commerce, they were filled with regret.
Fifteen minutes later, a post appeared on the Huaxia forums—

Title: New Year, New Vibes—Thousand Mountains, Don’t Get Too Cocky! Summit Server’s Ghost Commander Leads 100 Players to Obliterate the Holy Light Dutch Party! No words needed, just screenshots~\(≧▽≦)/~
……
Sometimes, the origin of a legend is just one overly enthusiastic fan.
