    Chapter Index

Although The Gods’ smugness wasn’t well-received, they were still a somewhat famous guild, dominating their own server. Yet, right off the bat, they were humiliated by the obscure Ghost Server Legion, with their guild leader being the first to fall. The frustration was palpable.

But the system wouldn’t give them time to wallow in misery—especially since the previous match’s underhanded PvP tactics had already dragged the single-round tournament way beyond the average duration. As soon as the first match ended, the second set of contestants were teleported to a new map.

[System] Commentator: The Ghost Server Legion scored a—

[System] Commentator: unique opening victory in the last match. Now, let’s see which two contestants will face off in this one!

[Spectator] Overnight Howl: Why do I feel like the host paused just now?

[Spectator] Wind Over Sand: Probably because he originally wanted to say “beautiful” but thought better of it and changed it to “unique.”

[System] Commentator: Ah, the contestants have appeared on the map! Let’s see who we have this time—

[System] Commentator: The Gods’ Hacker vs. Ghost Server’s Mad Lad! What a coincidence, another same-class duel!

[Spectator] Wind Over Sand: Uh, why did the host suddenly drop his own name?

[Spectator] Overnight Howl: Probably didn’t appreciate your earlier nickname for him.

Poor Brother Feifan was practically biting through his microphone. If the game hadn’t forced him to type instead of speak, he would’ve used Lion’s Roar to insta-kill those two little brats!

At the same time, Mad Lad and Hacker’s figures solidified in the center of the map.

This time, the map was a vast grassland. Under the endless blue sky and white clouds, lush green grass swayed gently in the wind.

The scenery was beautiful—so beautiful that… there was absolutely nowhere to hide.

Mad Lad and Hacker’s spawn points were almost at opposite ends of the map—one in the far northeast, the other in the far southwest. Yet, despite the distance, they could still see each other clearly, staring into each other’s eyes with deep affection.

    Neither moved.

Then, someone in the stands did.

[Contestant] Harry Porret: Can someone explain why that guy’s account is showing up in Mirage Server?

[Contestant] Carved in Bone: Didn’t hear about any server-transfer items in the mall.

[Contestant] Flower Matchmaker: Shit, isn’t that the guy our guild leader put a bounty on?

[Contestant] Seven Injuries Fist: Took you long enough to notice =_=

While some recognized their enemies, others were just there for the show.

[Contestant] Summit of Mount Tai: Always putting bounties on people—is that Huaxia Dominion’s motto?

[Contestant] Unintentional Mistake: The best part is the whole guild couldn’t take him down. That guy apparently paid to bind his gear, and then we just watched our Huaxia Dominion buddies drop orange-tier gear one after another.

[Contestant] Suave Not Sleazy: He bought Red Ribbons? That’s some serious spending.

As the two rival guilds from Huaxia Summit “chatted happily,” the spectators couldn’t hold back and started asking for details. Seeing that the two on the field were still staring at each other, the commentator gave up and joined the scrolling chat, analyzing as he went. Polly was originally from Huaxia Dominion but left the guild, then got hunted down by both Huaxia Dominion and Five Peaks Pavilion. Mad Lad was being hunted by Huaxia Dominion in Huaxia Summit but also had an account in Mirage Server where he teamed up with Polly. Huaxia Dominion and Five Peaks Pavilion were sworn enemies in Mirage Server but had both moved to Huaxia Summit, where they continued their love-hate relationship… What the hell, is this a game or a Korean drama? Too convoluted!

The gossip whirlwind kept spreading, and no one noticed that the two contestants on the map had started moving toward each other at a steady pace.

On a flat, open map like this, tactics were meaningless. Ranged attacks like arrows were useless too, since the trajectory was clearly visible and easy to dodge. This was pure PvP—skill against skill.

By the time sharp-eyed spectators noticed something was happening, the two were already in melee range!

    [System] Commentator: Bloody Handprint!

[System] Commentator: Since Backstab can’t be used face-to-face, both contestants intuitively chose Bloody Handprint as their opening move!

[System] Commentator: Bloody Handprint isn’t just an attack—it also boosts hit rate for one minute!

As the commentator spoke, Mad Lad and Hacker were already going at it! Unlike mage skills, assassin skills were quick and straightforward, so the audience could clearly see every move and dodge.

Technically, Hacker was on par with Mad Lad. Hacker’s attack speed was faster, but Mad Lad’s positioning was better, balancing things out. Their HP bars dropped almost in sync—though one fell a bit faster than the other =_=

[System] Commentator: Clearly, the Ghost Server assassin’s gear is better than The Gods’! His attack power is about 1.5 times higher! Too bad his gear’s appearance is modified—we can’t see what it actually is!

[System] Commentator: Looks like The Gods assassin is about to go down!

[System] Commentator: Huh? The Ghost Server assassin stopped attacking! The Gods assassin has only a little bit of HP left!

[System] Commentator: Wait, are these two… talking?

The commentator wasn’t wrong. On the map, Mad Lad stood still while Hacker circled him, the earlier tension completely gone. Now it was just blue skies, white clouds, and two bros chilling.

The vice leader of Five Peaks Pavilion summed it up perfectly—

[Contestant] Nicknamed White Dragon Horse: Did they just suddenly fall in love mid-fight?

Fang Zheng watched the two little characters on the map and couldn’t rule out the possibility.

On YY, Fighter Jet couldn’t take it anymore: “What the hell is the assassin doing? Did he go Solid as a Rock too?”

Polly remained calm: “The match is already decided. Hacker probably wants to die with clarity.”

As if to confirm Birdy’s words, the arena chat popped up—

[Arena] Hacker: Holy shit, you’re breaking the game! How much did you spend on this gear?!

Clearly, Hacker had inspected Mad Lad’s equipment and was now having a meltdown.

Fang Zheng totally understood his pain T_T

[Arena] Mad Lad: Talking about money is so vulgar.

[Arena] Hacker: Then what isn’t vulgar? =_=

    [Arena] Mad Lad: Wait!

Hacker, who had been pacing idly, reflexively stopped at these words. The audience, who had been enjoying the chat, was also stunned by the sudden outburst. Even though it was just text, it made everyone hold their breath—as if they were about to witness a miracle.

    And a miracle did happen.

Mad Lad calmly walked behind Hacker… Backstab + Bloodseal Strike!

    Hacker faceplanted.

[Arena] Mad Lad: Let’s talk about victory.

    The world fell silent.

Mad Lad and Hacker’s corpse slowly vanished, and the arena returned to normal.

The petrified audience remained petrified, though a few contestants managed to regain their senses.

[Contestant] Summit of Mount Tai: Was that closing line… him trying to look cool?

[Contestant] Harry Porret: Probably. Even if it was from the peak of sleaziness.

[Contestant] Nicknamed White Dragon Horse: So was it cool or sleazy?

[Contestant] Hu Yifei12138: Definitely sleazy. But sleazy in a cool way!!

Perhaps the first two matches had drained the commentator’s energy, because after the assassin showdown, there was an unprecedented ten-minute break. The Ghost Server teammates didn’t know who would be chosen next, so they didn’t dare leave their computers, chatting idly on YY instead.

Still, starting with two wins was a reason to celebrate.

2B: “Let’s keep the momentum going and crush them 6-0! Give those ‘Pig Gods’ a goose egg to take home, haha!”

    438: “Um… it’s ‘The Gods.'”

    2B: “Same difference. Don’t nitpick.”

Fang Zheng shed a silent tear for the Red Lotus guild leader.

Maybe the strong start had eased the tension, because even the usually quiet Your Uncle spoke up timidly: “I have a feeling I’m next…”

    2B & 438 & Mad Lad & Milk Mom: “Then it’s definitely you.”

    Polly: “Good luck.”

Your Uncle was on the verge of tears: “The zombie and assassin did so well… What if I embarrass myself…?”

Blood Bull comforted him sincerely: “They’ve already pushed the sleazy playstyle to its limits. It’s hard to top that. Just be yourself.”

As the commentator announced the next match, Your Uncle slowly vanished from the room.

The Ghost Server teammates watched him go, their six hearts united in thought: This guy is wasting his talents working a 9-to-5 job! He should be sent straight to the UN to maintain world peace!

[System] Commentator: The third solo match—Ghost Server’s Crossplayer’s Blessing vs. The Gods’ Love Fiercely!

[System] Commentator: Can the Ghost Server Legion continue their winning streak after two victories? Or will The Gods strike back? Blesscaller vs. Berserker—let’s find out!

On the battlefield, a new map materialized. This time, it wasn’t a riverside cabin or a grassy plain—it was a snow-capped mountain range!

The towering peaks were blanketed in white, with the morning sun hanging over the summit, yet unable to stop the relentless snowfall. The interplay of sunlight and blizzard created a surreal landscape, but the players trapped in it had other concerns. The dense snowflakes made it impossible to see anything beyond a few meters—let alone their opponent.

Crossplayer’s Blessing appeared on a rocky ledge halfway up the western slope, while Love Fiercely spawned at the mountain’s base directly below him, almost forming a straight vertical line!

[System] Commentator: This time, the two are very close! Let’s see who spots the other first.

Almost as soon as the commentator spoke, Love Fiercely started climbing the mountain path. He couldn’t have known his opponent was right above him—he was just trying to get a better vantage point.

But Your Uncle wasn’t the type to wait around either. If Love Fiercely could think of climbing higher, so could he. A few seconds later, he leaped off the ledge and started sprinting for the summit!

And so, the two contestants raced up the mountain like it was a marathon obstacle course, battling through snow, wind, and loose rocks as they charged toward the sunrise…

[Arena] Love Fiercely: Stop hiding. I know you’re here—I can see you!

Even before they clashed, the mind games had begun. Love Fiercely wasn’t expecting his opponent to actually believe he’d been spotted—he just wanted to pressure him.

Fang Zheng was silently urging “Uncle, stay calm, don’t let him get to you”—when the man in question responded earnestly:

[Arena] Crossplayer’s Blessing: You can see me here? Then where exactly is here?

    [Arena] Love Fiercely:

    [Arena] Crossplayer’s Blessing: Pfft. Liar!

Your Uncle, you absolute legend TAT
