It was difficult to find someone who could accurately diagnose Aizen’s condition. Ramiel had briefly spoken about his state, but he also said it was the first time he had encountered such a being, so Sibel wanted to hear the opinions of several others to know Aizen’s condition more clearly.

    “Lady Lilianthes, huh.”

Lilianthes was certainly friendly toward him, so there was a high chance she would help.

“Then should I try asking her once?”

Sibel decided to actively seek her help.

The Demon King’s castle was gradually regaining life. Sibel and the residents of the castle were repairing the broken structure and taking time to care for one another.

When Ramiel watched their effort to restore this peaceful routine, he started to feel something bitter.

He knew Sibel’s true identity. He also knew how Sibel came to return as a demon after going against the natural order.

Unlike what humans thought, angels and demons were not necessarily enemies. Whether demon or human, they did not take sides, and they were closer to observers. They simply followed orders when a divine revelation came down.

But perhaps, deep down, he was expecting something. Even though it seemed that he was no longer divine, he felt a pure curiosity about what kind of sight would unfold if a being that was once a god descended to this land in a mortal body.

Ramiel was not like ordinary angels. He thought angels were like birds trapped inside a cage ruled by the god. They obeyed the words of the god and enjoyed a comfortable eternity. So, contrary to the god’s intent of planting benevolence in their nature, they found life easier the more indifferent they were to other living things.

In that sense, Ramiel had a slightly twisted side that made him different from other angels. He also saw the world with a dry gaze, but at times, he would feel uncontrollable curiosity.

Aizen was especially such an existence, and now he was curious about how Sibel would change. Would he regain divine authority? Or would he remain bound by the shackle of his birth, lose his light, and stay trapped on the ground as a being of darkness? He was curious about the outcome in many ways.

    ‘A variable.’

He felt that Aizen was a variable that was not included in Leviathan’s design. Aizen’s transformation from human to demon was a future that even Ramiel could not foresee.

Ramiel had the power to foresee the future, but matters related to Sibel could not be seen at all, as if they were forbidden. From that, it seemed that he had not completely lost divine authority.

“I am curious, but it seems my role ends here.”

Though regretful, Ramiel decided that his duty was finished. The will of the god appeared to be the same. His body slowly began to turn into light. The day had come for him to disappear as suddenly as he had appeared.

Before leaving, he offered a small blessing to Aizen. He could not stop himself from feeling more affection toward this side.

“I will look forward to it.”

Ramiel took in the sight of the warm and lively Demon King’s castle, then returned to where he belonged. At the moment he vanished, he caught a glimpse of a brief future.

He saw himself among them someday. He thought he might come back here once more.

“I told you, this has to be done with real magic.”

Today, everyone in the Demon King’s castle was working together to repair it. Shanti spread the castle blueprint open and marked the damaged parts with a pen.

There were too many places to fix. It looked like almost half of the castle had been blown away. It was not just half, since there were hardly any intact structures left, starting from the outer walls.

“The Demon King likes handmade things.”

“What kind of lunatic builds a castle by hand!”

“Are you insulting our Demon King right now?!”

As always, Shanti and Ruru were quarreling.

    “Should I carry bricks?”

The cute little Kairin was stomping his tail on the ground in excitement. The baby dragon Kairin was happy with anything as long as he could do it with the castle’s residents.

“Ugh, what a hassle. Can’t we just drink and play instead?”

Raccoon had recently learned to enjoy alcohol. He lifted the bottle hanging from his belt and shook it.

“Me too! I want to drink too!”

When Kairin showed interest, Raccoon smacked him on the head.

“Hey, your head’s still wet with blood!”

Kairin was a dragon hundreds of years old, and Raccoon was only a few years old, but no one bothered to correct it. What was the point of counting age in the demon realm? The one with the worse temper was simply the senior.

    “Eeeh.”

Kairin rubbed his head and looked toward Sibel, who was sprawled on the sofa.

Sibel was a little busy at the moment, because…

    (Emergency) Valheim Incident

They say the Holy Kingdom got completely beaten, is that true? The Demon King there is a newborn baby, right?

    Comments

└I saw the apostles of the Holy Kingdom running for their lives.

└(Author) What? How strong is he?

└They say there were hundreds of fully armed holy knights and several apostles… that’s impressive.

└Then what’s with all those Demon Kings who got erased by those Holy Kingdom guys? I told you, they should really do a full check on every Demon King, there are way too many useless ones.

└You’re missing the point again. Why bring up other Demon Kings?

└The ones who got erased were all well-known names. Don’t belittle them.

└Honestly, I think it’s time to replace them all. The current Demon Kings have fallen off. They’re all drunk on peace. Since when did demons live comfortably?

└(Author) Ugh… those Holy Kingdom bastards are making me so nervous.

└That’s why we need to go back to the old days when we killed each other to weed out the weak. Look at those arrogant Holy Kingdom bastards.

└The Holy Kingdom isn’t what it used to be, haha. Getting beaten by a newbie and running away, haha.

└Maybe that new Demon King is just that strong???

    └He sounds strong.

└I’m curious. Should I toss him into the duel arena?

Sibel quietly pressed the comment button.

└The Demon King’s castle must be in ruins and it must be tough… everyone, please watch over them with care and affection.ㅠ

Sibel was startled by the sudden arrow that flew in, and he pretended it wasn’t him, but he decided to guide public opinion toward a warm direction. He had learned quite a bit about what to keep in mind when using the community. Politics and diversion! And he had to keep evolving so that the public opinion wouldn’t spread in a strange way!

So Sibel focused intensely on checking the comments that appeared in real time.

“This won’t get solved among us.”

At that moment, Shanti and Ruru, who were discussing repair directions, looked at Sibel. When every gaze in the room suddenly turned toward him, Sibel flinched and lifted his head.

    “What will you do?”

    “Hm? What?”

“The repairs for the Demon King’s castle!”

Indeed, the biggest problem was the castle.

    “We can just use magic.”

    “What?”

“What’s with him?! If it was that simple, why did he make us suffer under the sun until now!”

As Ruru jumped up, Sibel quickly raised his arm and waved his hand to calm his anger.

“The Demon King had a philosophy! Houses must be built strong by hand!”

“No, it’s an emergency right now. Besides, it could collapse again any time. That’s why. It’s temporary, yeah, temporary!”

The stares that had been fixed on him softened a little at Sibel’s hurried excuse.

“I got too used to physical labor, so I almost feel disappointed that we’re using magic now.”

“Then do you want to stack the walls yourself?”

“What kind of nonsense is that! Let’s just get this done quickly!”

    “Mmmp!”

Shanti covered Ruru’s mouth with his hand.

“Cough, ack, I can’t breathe! And I was just saying it!”

Smack! Ruru’s hand struck Shanti’s head.

“Are you crazy! You want to do that backbreaking work again!”

Seeing everyone recoil in disgust made Sibel think that he shouldn’t make them suffer this time. Besides, Sibel himself wasn’t the same as before. He had gained quite a bit of magic power, and with that came confidence, so if he could handle it with magic, he was all for it. In the past, he had no strength and nothing else, so he used to worry that the ground might collapse while he slept.

    “I studied it. Don’t worry.”

Everyone nodded at Sibel’s words and exchanged looks.

“And it’s a bit awkward to say this, but who knows when it’ll break again.”

At Ruru’s words, Sibel dropped his shoulders.

“You bastard, how can you say such discouraging things in front of the Demon King!”

Raccoon grabbed Ruru by the collar, and Kairin hurriedly stepped between them.

“What’s discouraging about it? It’s true.”

Sibel knew it too. The Holy Kingdom would surely come back here. They hadn’t completed their mission to kill him, and they must have seen Aizen become a traitor, so even more reason. Most likely, next time they would be stronger than before.

    That was when it happened.

    “Huh, Demon King! Demon King!”

Shanti suddenly called out to Sibel while looking out the window. Sibel’s gaze followed his beyond the glass.

    “Uh…”

The bright sky was filled with countless birds.
