It was pure chaos. In the middle of it all, Reckthat was flooding the chat, saying he was about to die because of his low defense. PrettyHealer was doing his best to keep everyone healed, but it clearly wasn’t enough.

Characters were scrambling around aimlessly when Moonhyuk’s character approached Dohee’s. It looked like he’d come over hoping he could help somehow. Then, their zones overlapped. The effect was immediate and powerful.

Seeing the system messages, Dohee quickly gave orders.

— They said this raid had more cooperative mechanics, but Phase 2 is no joke.

Yeohoo grumbled. These players were veterans of countless raids, but this one even had them complaining. Between the tablet mechanic and the zone mechanic, the cooperation requirements were unexpectedly demanding. Later teams watching this footage would know to assign players to purple or yellow zones ahead of time, but the first time through? It just felt like chaos.

“Still, we figured it out fast. Thanks to you, hyung.”

Moonhyuk scratched his head with a sheepish smile.

“Uh… it wasn’t on purpose.”

“Still, I don’t even know how many times you’ve saved us already. You’re doing the work of three people, not just one.”

The system alert rang out, and the boss let out a deafening roar. In moments, its body began to split into two.

Yeojin muttered, disgusted. Laughter erupted across the group. It was a relief they still had enough energy left to laugh. The raid split into two groups to tackle the twin bosses. Without Oreckthat, the DPS wasn’t as fast as before, but the remaining members went all in, using up even their attack-boosting potions. The boss’s HP quickly dropped to 10 bars.

“You don’t think there’s more coming… right?”

“Hyung. Don’t jinx it.”

Thankfully, Moonhyuk’s concern didn’t come true. No more mechanics followed. When the boss’s HP hit zero, a system alert rang out as the boss let out one final scream.

From two to four, then eight, Momba kept splitting until its body finally shattered and dissolved into black dust. A smoky fog filled the ancient ruins, then slowly faded away. The rhythmic sound of distant drums continued for a moment, then faded out as well.

As the cutscene ended and the surviving raid members reappeared on screen, system alerts and quest updates came flooding in.

Noodle’s voice was desperate. Dohee ignored his whining and bent down to pick up a piece of parchment that had dropped where Momba’s Echo had disappeared.

Tando scolded him from the side. As Noodle kept muttering that he’d just place the order real quick, Dohee checked the system popup that appeared.

The second relic, ‘Bante,’ can be obtained after stopping the Demon Hunter’s rampage in the hidden map ‘Mirage Oasis.’

“Easier said than done.”

Dohee muttered, drawing laughter from the group. Yeohoo’s voice followed through the headset.

— As we head into Phase 3, should we all grab a quick bite? Looks like we’re still progressing the fastest.

“Really?”

Dohee glanced at the chat window. Whether it was because no other party had damage this fast or because everyone else was struggling with the mechanics, it looked like the Human raid team was still in the lead. Among the other non-streaming raids, none seemed to have cleared Phase 2 yet either. Finally feeling like he could breathe a little, Dohee let out a quiet sigh.

Honestly, saying he didn’t feel any pressure at all would be a lie. Ever since they were called the frontrunners, he’d been feeling increasingly anxious, desperate to maintain that number one spot. The rest of the raid members probably felt the same. Once you fall behind, it’s not easy to catch back up. Everyone knew the best thing to do was keep this pace.

Even scrolling through the chat, it looked like they still had some breathing room. Maybe not enough to get complacent, but enough to make some coffee or order kimbap. So Dohee soothed the raid members, saying they’d move on to Phase 3 and take a short 10-minute snack break in the save zone.

When she turned her head, she locked eyes with Moonhyuk. For some reason, his cheeks looked sunken, and his complexion was a little pale too. Was he just tense…? Or was he feeling sick? Worried, Dohee asked him gently.

“Hyung, are you okay?”

“…Huh? Yeah?”

“You’re not sick, right?”

The path to Phase 3 was yet another cave. Though they entered it nervously, worried it might be another strange passage like before, it turned out to be a normal cave that led to the surface. The dark screen gradually brightened, and a new map came into view. Just ahead of the cave was a save zone. Once all the raid members entered, a new system message popped up.

[System] You have passed ‘The Path to the Surface’.

[System] Jubite’s ‘Lost Footprints’ is waiting for you, Adventurer!

A bit away from the save zone was a large circular crater, as if a meteor had crashed there. Dohee instinctively knew this was the final map. Dust was blowing all over the area. It wasn’t quite a desert, but not quite a wasteland either, it felt like something in between. The map was vast and blurry in the distance, but here and there, she could see stone monuments inscribed with unknown symbols.

Honestly, there hadn’t been any time to worry about when it might show up. They’d been too busy dodging the patterns and countering mechanics right in front of them.
