The guild chat was unusually chaotic today. Dohee was quietly watching the nonstop scroll of messages with a glazed-over stare. Yeohoo had apparently gone out drinking somewhere, and Knockoff had logged in earlier, picked up the avatar quest, pushed through some main quests, then logged off again. He’d left a message saying he might come back a little earlier in the morning, and they could quest together then.

[Guild] SoftRiceCake: So now that the Winter Festival’s started, if we count the patch date…

[Guild] SoftRiceCake: Doesn’t that mean Demon Hunter’s coming in January!? lol

[Guild] SoftRiceCake: That means you’re in this time, right, AssaGo? You’re not quitting?

Dohee answered lazily, thanks to Yeohoo tagging him like that.

He’d debated for quite a while about whether or not to challenge the Demon Hunter’s First Clear (FC). In the end, his conclusion had been, “Screw it, let’s just give it one more go.”

When he told Yeohoo and Yeojin about it, they were so excited they practically jumped up and down. Since they’d burned through almost all the content in the game, Yeojin would often say he was going to quit too, just like Dohee. The only reason he was still around was because PrettyHealer kept pulling him back. Yeojin had been saying for a while now that SoGod wasn’t fun anymore.

But with new content on the horizon, maybe this would shake things up a bit.

Dohee’s decision to join the Demon Hunter FC after constantly saying he was going to quit, was a welcome surprise to the guild. After all, whether you liked him or not, everyone knew that doing a first clear without Dohee was basically impossible.

[Guild] SoftRiceCake: No way lol we’re actually doing the Demon Hunter FC

[Guild] PrettyHealerHyung: Technically it’s more like we’re attempting it…

Healer’s reply didn’t faze SoftRiceCake, who kept going.

Standing before the arena entrance pedestal, Dohee drifted into thought. Once the first Winter Festival ended, the pre-quest or teaser for the Demon Hunter raid would probably go live. SoGod had always introduced new raids like that. Once the second Winter Festival opened, the official launch date for Demon Hunter would be revealed, and the raid would likely open within a week or two. Usually, teaser videos came out about a week to fifteen days before launch.

You had to see the teaser to know what Demon Hunter would look like, what skills and effects it had, and what the map was like. For now, that teaser was the most important piece. Still, it wasn’t weird for SoftRiceCake to be getting hyped early.

Raids usually required a party of at least six and up to ten players. Typically, raid groups were split into two parties like 3/3, 4/4, or 5/5. So picking out at least six to ten people in advance and syncing their schedules was crucial. If someone dropped out last minute, finding a replacement would be tough.

[Guild] AssaGo: I mean, it’s not like what SoftRice is saying is wrong

Leaving the noisy guild chat behind, Dohee clicked the arena entrance button. No point in fussing over it now. For now, just decide the rough lineup and adjust later when it matters. Dohee glanced at the clock.

Knockoff had said they’d be logging in around 3 a.m. There was still plenty of time until then.

Wondering what the most efficient route for the couple avatar quest would be, Dohee finalized their PVP loadout. He figured it was best to rush through the dailies and just wait.
