    Chapter 26 Secret

In the morning. Yu Xiaowen, curled up asleep on the living room sofa, heard a commotion from the bedroom. He was extremely fatigued and irritable, burying his head deeply into the covers.

But he still could not avoid it. The victim came out and stood by his head, his tone extremely shocked to the point of ruining his image: “Yu Xiaowen… Why am I sleeping in your bed?”

He did not react, and the victim actually squatted down, persistently calling his name to his face: “Yu Xiaowen.”

Yu Xiaowen could only rub his eyes: “Ah… Cough cough…”

His throat was hoarse, and he coughed. After a moment, he said with effort: “Who is the cuckoo occupying the magpie’s nest? Who should you ask this question to, the sparrow?”

“…Why do I remember nothing?” The victim said.

Yu Xiaowen laughed, his tone teasing: “Oh? That is good then. Some things are better not remembered.”

The victim looked at him and pondered silently. First, he suddenly raised his hand to touch his own bite-blocker, then lowered it. He stood up, walked to the trash can, and looked inside.

    Yu Xiaowen watched him.

This guy had indeed recovered his health. His intelligence was back.

The victim turned his head to look at Yu Xiaowen again; he pretended to squint his eyes nonchalantly, as if he had fallen asleep again.

The victim hesitated for a moment but still squatted down, using the tip of one finger to gently lift the outer packaging of the Ts-4 medicine box to check.

Undoubtedly, he would see the needle tube with the needle removed and the medicine bottle below.

The victim pondered for a while, stood up and walked back to the bedroom, then came out again, his voice changed somewhat: “The bedsheet. It is a bit stiff. New one?”

“Yes.” Yu Xiaowen cleared his throat weakly, rubbed his waist, raised his head to look at the victim: “You made it such a mess that it could not be used anymore; I had to change it.”

He saw the victim’s fingers curl up, his knuckles whitening a bit.

    “I…?”

Yu Xiaowen hooked the corner of his mouth and smiled at him: “Doctor Lu’s body is truly vigorous; you flowed a liter of nosebleed and now you are still full of vigor.”

    “…Nosebleed.” The victim’s fingers loosened.

“Of course. You said it; you turned a criminal police officer’s bed into a crime scene. You made my occupational disease flare up; I almost took white chalk to circle you again,” Yu Xiaowen said.

“You remember?” The victim raised his eyes again.

    Yu Xiaowen: “…”

A slip. If that truth serum had been injected into Yu Xiaowen, he should have lost memory.

He waved his hand and said again: “I also fell asleep, okay? When I woke up, I saw… you were in my bed; you nearly scared me to death. Hey, so what did you come to my house for?”

“…” The victim bit his mouth and did not answer the reason for his late-night visit.

Yu Xiaowen blankly touched the top of his head and incidentally pressed the back of his neck. He looked very innocent: “Could it be that the inferior Omega’s juices as medicine is not effective, so you dragged your physical evidence to my door to demand an explanation? Then I should not have opened the door for you. Did I open the door for you? Why do I not remember…”

The victim seemed to have found the point where his memory began to break and felt it reasonable, he gradually calmed down.

“…The medicine was very effective. It was my own problem. Thank you for helping,” he said.

Yu Xiaowen observed the victim’s complexion.

“No need to thank,” Yu Xiaowen cleared his throat again, leaned against the sofa back, gathered the covers. He only exposed one hand, picked up the phone plugged into the charging cable by his face, operated it, and showed the countdown to the other: “As I said before, today you belong to me. Since you are already well, stay here and accompany me; you are not allowed to leave.”

The victim’s expression changed a bit, looking like he was enduring humiliation.

“…Oh,” the victim said. After scrutinizing Yu Xiaowen’s face for a moment, he glanced at the gap in the covers and said again: “Sorry for taking your bed. You go in and sleep.”

There was a very short period in the morning when this dim little living room was at its brightest. At this time, a strand of golden morning light entered the room through various reflections from the small balcony, softly enveloping the victim.

Yu Xiaowen in the shadows threw away his phone; the covers were raised again, blocking half his face. His gaze drifted to the water glass on the tea table.

“Do you really not need to put on some clothes, Doctor Lu?”

The victim lowered his head to look at himself, his expression becoming somewhat complex.

    “…Where are my clothes?”

Yu Xiaowen laughed: “On the balcony. Such a strong crime scene smell.”

Then he propped himself up on the sofa and sat up a bit, furrowed his brows, moved his cheek, exhaled, and fell back down. He turned his head to look at the victim, his gaze flashing slyly. He reached out and crooked his finger: “Come here; you carry me in.”

“…” The victim looked at him for a while, walked over. Then he bent down and scooped up the person along with the covers from below into his arms.

He did not lift the person up first but paused. Then he sniffed.

Yu Xiaowen saw his action and casually draped his hand over his own neck, saying: “…What is it? The little dog is twitching his nose.”

The victim: “This cover has my pheromone scent on it. But did I cover it?”

He lowered his head again to distinguish more carefully.

“…Because. You sprayed nosebleed all over my bedside; of course the covers would have your scent,” Yu Xiaowen pushed against his increasingly close chest and said. “Is that not normal?”

The victim pressed his shoulders and looked at the deep red inhibitor patch on the back of his neck: “You don’t go into heat every moment. Do you need to wear an inhibitor patch even when sleeping?”

“I don’t go into heat but you do! I am afraid you will go mad like yesterday, that is why I wore it, okay?” Yu Xiaowen pushed him with increasing force.

The victim performed a gland finger diagnosis on him: “Why is your gland swollen so severely?”

“Um gland… Um you, don’t you know? Yesterday you nearly bit me!? From that fight in the bathroom, I have so many marks on me; do you want to see them all…” Yu Xiaowen’s neck instantly flushed red. The victim looked at him.

“Why are you wearing so much when sleeping in your own home?”

Yu Xiaowen’s Adam’s apple rolled. He was wearing a thin T-shirt, just with the collar and cuffs gathered tightly.

The victim’s gaze went downward, fixed on him for a moment, tugged his collar to the side. The ordinary quality fabric immediately tightened, faintly revealing his figure. The position on his chest, more prominent than usual, propped up a small piece of fabric, the outline emerging. Yu Xiaowen suddenly felt that secret stinging intensify.

He covered his chest with one hand and gave the other a light but very deterrent slap: “…Lu Kongyun, you, you want to see then just say so. I will take it off for you to see?”

    “…”

The victim released him, his expression somewhat stiff.

    The two fell silent.

Yu Xiaowen hugged the covers and wanted to get up himself. But he changed his mind and lay back down softly.

“Forget it; I just want to sleep on the sofa. You go away.”

The victim still scooped him up. Yu Xiaowen pushed without success and fell into the other’s arms.

The victim lowered his eyes and glanced at his face, carried him into the bedroom, and placed him on the bed.

When reaching the bed, he kicked the covers; the victim fixed his gaze on the area inside the covers again.

    “Yesterday’s fight, did I hit…”

He leaned closer a bit; Yu Xiaowen quickly wrapped himself up: “So you still want to fight today? You go out.”

The victim stood silently at the bedroom door. Yu Xiaowen fiddled with his phone wrapped in the covers. Feeling he had not left, he stretched his neck to look out, then said: “There are some loose big T-shirts in my closet; you can wear them. Do you want one?”

The victim walked away. After a while, he quickly walked back to the bedroom door: “How long do you plan to sleep until you get up?”

Yu Xiaowen looked at him again. He had directly put on his suit jacket, with muscle lines faintly visible between the two front panels, and only underwear below. Yu Xiaowen looked at his fashionable attire for two seconds, snorted, lay down, wrapped himself tightly in the covers, and wriggled twice: “Until I have slept enough.”

The victim stood for a moment before leaving the bedroom door.

Lu Kongyun sat on the sofa in the small living room for a while. He saw the large reference book he had brought still on the other’s table, so he walked over to flip through it. After zoning out several times, he stood up, went to the bathroom, opened his suit, and checked his body.

    No traces at all.

Then he looked at his own face in the mirror, as if he could discern something.

He took out his phone and messaged Doctor Gao: Unlock my bite-blocker for me.

With the sound of the bite-blocker unlocking, the other’s call came in as well. Lu Kongyun took the phone to the small balcony, then closed the glass sliding door behind him and answered the call.

    “Hello.”

Lu Kongyun saw his shirt hanging to dry on the crude clothes rack of the small balcony. Its shoulder line was aligned with the hanger, the sleeves and front pulled flat, the front buttons buttoned, swaying in the sunlight and breeze. Beside it was a bedsheet wrapped around the clothes rack.

“Director Lu. How are you?” Doctor Gao asked directly. “Hey, heavens, yesterday your brother kept watching his spy here and would not leave; he even took my phone to inspect it. I could not contact you at all.”

“It is fine; I am already well,” Lu Kongyun answered. He raised his hand to touch the swaying shirt. The sleeves were still a bit damp and could not be worn. He looked at the bedsheet again. Still dripping water. “If Lu Qifeng’s side is very tricky, I can have him take the person away. You will not have trouble.”

“Hey, no need; it is fine. Anyway, your brother pays generously… You are well? Completely?” The other found it hard to believe. “What about your rut?”

“Yes. I now feel that my pheromones are completely within controllable range.”

In the other’s relieved sigh tinged with surprise, Lu Kongyun turned: “However…”

Lu Kongyun hooked his thumb into the edge of his underwear and looked inside.

    “.”

“…I feel that thing is somewhat,” Lu Kongyun weighed his words. “It is sensitive.”

“It? Wha… Oh.” Doctor Gao understood immediately after asking: “How? Allergic reaction?”

“Not allergy. Just a change.” Lu Kongyun answered. “I have a reaction, but I am not in rut now.”

Doctor Gao laughed knowingly: “Oh haha, that is nothing; very normal. Actually, all men are quite sensitive. As long as you are still young and healthy.”

Lu Kongyun looked at the wet bedsheet hanging. He looked for a while, then slowly brought his nose close to smell it.

“I certainly know that ‘normal men’ are sensitive. But I am not. Besides being controlled by pheromones, subjectively I have no demand. So this is very abnormal; do you not think so?”

The bedsheet only had a strong disinfectant smell. No other clues at all.

“I do not think so,” Doctor Gao immediately explained: “Your Lu family has so many super Alphas; you must have seen what they are like in tut, right? Not to mention you; even the most ordinary Alpha in rut desperately wants to get their partner pregnant before stopping. This is common knowledge for all AO, right? You just soaked in ‘substitute meal’ fluids and recovered clarity; having some aftereffects is very normal.”

“Is that so,” Lu Kongyun straightened his body.

“Is that person really your substitute meal?” After a while, Doctor Gao asked.

Lu Kongyun was stunned for a moment and asked: “What substitute meal?”

Doctor Gao laughed: “The Omega who answered the call yesterday. He said he was a substitute meal, coming to ‘donate fluids’ for you.”

Lu Kongyun held the bedsheet with his fingers, squeezing out a lot of water that dripped to the ground with pattering sounds.

    Doctor Gao: “What is wrong?”

Lu Kongyun answered: “What substitute meal; I do not need any substitute meal. He is my rut target. It is he who caused my rut and played happily in it.”

    “…Ah.”

As expected, no “substitute meal” existed; Lu Qifeng had been right. Doctor Gao felt that the other’s emotions sounded fluctuating again. Recalling that yesterday Lu Kongyun had even reached the point of needing someone else to make a call for him, just how he had been played, Doctor Gao did not dare ask for details.

He only asked: “Then what do you plan to do with him next?”

    Lu Kongyun: “What?”

Doctor Gao: “Did you not say he played with you? Just let it go like this?”

Lu Kongyun fell silent. He thought of that video.

Far from just playing with me. He’s playing with my father too.

He thought and said: “After the current matter is resolved, there will soon be no contact.”

This was exactly what Doctor Gao hoped for; he said: “Hey, Director Lu, if you do not plan to deal with him, can you introduce him to me? I want to research why this person’s pheromones can make an Alpha like you…”

Lu Kongyun opened the wristband monitoring permissions: “Help me monitor my pheromone levels today; see if I can still attend the military training.”

Doctor Gao was stunned into silence for several seconds.

“…You are still thinking about the training.”

After hanging up, Lu Kongyun thought for a while and decided to reduce the frequency of consulting Doctor Gao Yuting on illnesses and seeing him in the future.

Then he came to the bedroom door again. He saw that the person on the bed had lifted the covers, only covering from the waist down.

    He furrowed his brows.

He walked slowly over and sat on the chair by the bed. The blackmailer was sleeping very soundly. Slowly, he placed his hand on the covers and lifted a bit.

    He couldn’t see clearly.

He wanted to lift more, and the blackmailer moved, revealing a section of waistline from under his clothes hem.

There seemed to be a mark on it, bruise-like, only a bit exposed, uncertain.

“…” Lu Kongyun stared at it for a moment, then placed his knuckles against it, hovering in the air, comparing them.

Yesterday in the Orange Garden bathroom, had he… like this, pressed his waist against the wall like that?

The blackmailer suddenly twisted, and that piece of skin touched his palm on its own.

After a while, the skin’s owner felt the discomfort on his waist and irritably waved his hand to shoo a fly. Lu Kongyun nimbly dodged.

…He suddenly felt himself very absurd.

A big fool mad dog running to someone’s bedside late at night to spray nosebleed was already fantastical enough; he still wanted to weave a sequel downward.

He stood up and walked out of the bedroom.

In the evening, Yu Xiaowen woke up. His whole body, especially his waist and legs, was still very sore, but his spirit was much better. He first sat up, rubbed his face, then pulled open the drawer of the bedside small table, he peeled out a painkiller tablet, put it in his mouth, and swallowed it dry.

He closed the drawer, got out of bed, did some stretching exercises as much as he could, then grimaced and tugged his buttock muscles, he put on a pair of pajama pants, and slowly walked out of the bedroom.

    The sky had darkened again.

In the dim light of the small living room, the victim was at the table, looking at the large reference book he had brought. He had already put on his white shirt again, sitting relaxed yet upright, holding the only handled printed teacup in Yu Xiaowen’s home in his hand.

He looked very serene; he had even made tea for himself. He did not seem to be drinking the wholesale tea bags from Yu Xiaowen’s home but imported black tea often drunk by European nobility.

The teacup had a slightly crooked glazed raspberry flower print on it. It was not that exquisite; instead, it made this scene seem very gentle.

Yu Xiaowen leaned obliquely against the door frame, lost in thought, so when the victim raised his head to look over, he subconsciously lowered his head.

But he quickly reacted. This was his own home. That was his own jasmine low-grade tea bag. He looked back and smiled.

The victim looked at Yu Xiaowen for two seconds, fluttered his eyelids, then looked at the cup in his hand and blew on the teacup that was not steaming.
