by LiliumChapter 34: Special Advantage
After a while, the victim turned his head back in and asked Yu Xiaowen in a slow voice: “Why? Why do you need to kiss once more?”
Yu Xiaowen was momentarily stunned, then he tugged at his collar with heavy-lidded eyes: “…Even if you will not be affected, this is fucking irritating.”
He leaned closer: “You did it on purpose, I know.”
Yu Xiaowen stood up, and the water bottle rolled onto the ground with. He straddled the victim’s legs, forcibly cupping the other’s face to turn it toward himself: “Are you satisfied seeing me like this? But there will be a price to pay.”
He blinked, clearing his blurry vision, then slowly approached the victim’s face, gazing at him menacingly
Their breaths intertwined. He saw the other slightly part his lips, yet say nothing. The sharp tips of the other’s canines reflected a glint of light.
In the distance, a faint conversation seemed to be heard: “In this weather in Manjing, you can’t go a day without an umbrella…”
Yu Xiaowen and the victim exchanged glances, and soon, the victim reached out and silently closed the car window.
“…” Yu Xiaowen felt only a moment of embarrassment before he lifted his leg once more, returning to his original position and sitting down.
Then he turned back again, awkwardly but persistently wrapping both arms around the other, and commanded: “You hold me too.”
The victim did not move, so Yu Xiaowen manipulated his two arms, passively draping them over his own back as if posing a mannequin in a department store. Then he leaned on the victim’s shoulder, arching his neck a little more, and vengefully drew close to the victim.
“Just like this, until the timer ends,” he said. “Even if you do not like it, you must properly smell it! I absolutely must make you eat rotten fruit today. Hmph. Dead face. Damn it.”
But soon he himself wriggled and asked in a trembling voice: “How much longer?”
The victim replied: “There are still eight minutes left.”
After a while, the victim took the initiative and said: “I wish to ask you about that Omega friend of yours who cannot be marked.”
“…”
While he himself suffered here, the top Alpha doctor was thinking about understanding a case.
Yu Xiaowen felt indignant in his heart, but his tone was indifferent: “Fine, ask away. But I am not particularly familiar with his affairs, so I cannot answer everything.”
Yu Xiaowen felt the other lower his head, so the warm breath of his speech ghosted over his neck, causing him to curl his body and tighten his arms. Then he felt the arms the other had on him also tighten with the same force, as if receiving a command to replicate the embrace. This made him feel both sorrowful and amused.
He raised his head to scrutinize the other’s countenance in the dimness. The other stared at him for a while as well, then this doctor softly asked: “If he cannot be marked, what would happen if he were bitten by someone else?”
“Nothing would happen,” Yu Xiaowen immediately answered.
After another interval.
The other asked again: “How are you so certain? Do you know that he has been bitten before?”
“I know,” Yu Xiaowen said.
On his back, the pressure from the other’s arms dispersed, with a portion moving upward, brushing over his cervical vertebrae through the thin fabric of his clothing, the fingertips even touching his heated gland. He shrank his neck and tilted his head up, looking at the victim. The victim was also looking at him. It seemed as if he were waiting for him to continue speaking.
Yu Xiaowen continued the story with unsteady breath, “Oh, just before I blackmailed you, he had just been bitten by a bad person. The guy even attempted to mark him.”
The victim: “……”
Yu Xiaowen laughed mockingly: “I have to say that this disease has special advantages at certain times.”
The back of his neck felt even stranger. Yu Xiaowen frowned and tried to evade it. But the victim held his cheeks so that he could not dodge.
The victim pinched so hard that his mouth suddenly gaped open unexpectedly, and saliva flowed from the corner of his mouth. Yu Xiaowen felt that surge of heat; he thought that the trail of water extending to his chin must certainly gleam as if his mind were disordered and in need of treatment, while the other continued to stare at him.
He angrily pressed his mouth against the other’s. Contamination. Friction.
Then he parted, hooked up the corner of his mouth, and lifted his face to look at the other.
The victim brushed his finger over Yu Xiaowen’s chin, wiping away the saliva that made him seem as if his mind were disordered. Then he reversed his hand, slowly rubbing his own lips with the pad of his finger, also erasing the sheen that clung to them.
The victim pushed his shoulders, and Yu Xiaowen was gradually pressed into the not-too-spacious backseat. Yu Xiaowen looked at the victim who was looking down at him and felt short of breath, but he instinctively reached out to grab the front of the other’s shirt and continued to pull him closer.
The victim did not resist, but lowered his head and looked at him closely.
“Yu Xiaowen.”
This was the second time since getting into the car that the victim inexplicably called his name.
Yu Xiaowen’s head and body were throbbing like pulses. His fingers followed the collar he was holding and touched the cold zipper of his combat uniform, and subconsciously pulled it down a little.
“Hm? Lu Kongyun.” He also called the other’s name.
The hand he used for mischief had its fingers interlaced and pressed against the car door. After a while, Yu Xiaowen gasped: “Control your little pleasure toy. I can’t take it anymore.”
“…”
The victim slowly stood up. The phone in his trouser pocket kept vibrating. So he pushed his hair back, pulled out his phone, got out of the car, and slammed the door.
…
Lu Kongyun walked a short distance in the parking lot, looking at the name Lu Qingchuan displayed on his phone. He stared for a moment until the screen went dark. He knew the other would continue calling. He ignored it for now and sat on a nearby roadblock instead, regulating his breathing.
He rubbed the Tianying acupoint, Sibai acupoint and around the eye sockets.
When the phone rang for the third time in his pocket, he exhaled a deep breath, took it out, and answered.
His voice had returned to normal: “Hello.”
Upon hearing him answer the call, the other immediately said in a cold voice: “Lu Kongyun. Are you going mad?”
“What is the matter?” Lu Kongyun said.
Lu Qingchuan: “What do you mean ‘what is the matter’? You are quite calm about it. In the military department system, who does not have some intricate connections with whom? How can you just hit someone?”
Lu Kongyun replied: “It is he who sought death.”
On the other end, Lu Qingchuan snorted and asked again: “How is that boy now?”
Lu Kongyun: “I do not know. I left after sending him to the hospital.”
The other was stunned: “You left? Where did you go?”
The other’s reaction was somewhat strange. But Lu Kongyun, adhering to the mindset that a successful lie means one less matter and a failed lie is inconsequential, said: “I returned to the military academy. I am in the dormitory now.”
“You returned…” Lu Qingchuan raised his pitch by two tones, then recovered his composure: “Lu Kongyun, Lu Yue went to the training ground with several military department leaders to organize interviews, and they said you were not there.”
“…” Lu Kongyun was quite surprised. Was there a surprise interview tonight? No one in the dormitory had notified him at all; it seemed his popularity was quite lacking.
On Lu Qingchuan’s side, there was some movement, as if he had shifted to a more convenient posture for lecturing.
“Lu Kongyun, I thought at least you would take the matter of promotion to heart, but it seems you are indeed utterly useless. With so many high-level military department officials present, yet you are absent. Upon inquiry, well, it makes everyone know together that you beat the grandson of the Ding family into the hospital. The younger generation of the Ding family is incompetent, but the grandfather has meritorious war service. Now with such a great commotion, how will outsiders view the Lu family?”
Lu Kongyun said nothing.
Lu Qingchuan: “You beat someone into the hospital, and now you lie and go missing. What exactly do you intend to do? What do you plan to do now?”
Lu Kongyun thought for a moment and said: “Withdraw from the promotion training, and re-submit the application report three years from now.”
Lu Qingchuan gave a cold laugh: “You are quite bold in your actions and accountability. Do you think you represent only yourself? Lu Kongyun.”
“You return home immediately. We will speak at home.” Lu Qingchuan hung up the phone.
Lu Kongyun did not return directly to the car but sat back down on the roadblock. He covered his face.
After a while, he slapped himself.
When he walked back near the car, he saw that the blackmailer had also gotten out and was squatting at the base of a nearby wall, plucking a handful of still-damp wild grass after the rain and sniffing it vigorously under his nose, using the wild grass as a sobering agent. The blackmailer’s wrist already bore a wristband. Upon seeing him return, the blackmailer tossed the clump of wild grass back into the underbrush and slowly stood up.
The blackmailer appeared to have calmed considerably, though a blush still lingered on his face.
“Was it the instructor who called you?” he asked. “Then you should hurry back.”
Lu Kongyun did not answer but sized up the blackmailer: “Do you intend to return to the bureau like this?”
“What’s wrong with me?” the blackmailer said, his hands in his pockets, head tilted. “Smart, cute, and full of energy.”
“…You’re not cute at all. You couldn’t be worse.” Lu Kongyun opened the passenger door: “Get in. I’ll take you home.”
The blackmailer looked at him, touched the wristband, and did not refuse. As he climbed in, he said: “Won’t it delay your matters?”
“A good question.”
Lu Kongyun sat in the driver’s seat and fastened his seatbelt. The damp paper balls on the seat had already been disposed of. The air conditioning was on, and the pheromone scent left by the Omega was gradually dissipating.
The blackmailer looked at him: “What is wrong with you?”
The blackmailer seemed to have noticed the abnormality in his mood.
Lu Kongyun changed the subject: “When I got out of the car, there were still four minutes left. I concede the loss.”
“…You are quite straightforward about it,” the blackmailer said. “Although I won by unfair means, since you concede, I shall graciously accept.”
Lu Kongyun said nothing more, starting the car with a grim face in silence.
“You simply ran out like this; it will not cause any issues, right?” the blackmailer asked.
“No,” Lu Kongyun answered. “If you think it would cause issues, would I have come out?”
The blackmailer laughed, then fell quiet, as if observing him. After a while, he said: “When you return, do not forget to apply medicine. You are a doctor, not a soldier. Your hand is swollen like a small steamed bun.”
“It does not matter,” Lu Kongyun said. “It does not hurt.”
“I feel heartache for it.”
The blackmailer opened his mouth and said it very easily.
