    “I’m heading out.”

“Don’t get hurt. If it’s dangerous, ask Karon for help. You’re probably not used to using demonic energy yet, so he’ll teach you everything.”

Lebel glanced at Karon. Karon’s expression was sullen, he was reluctant, but he clung to Yutis’s shoulder.

Yutis nodded and whistled, calling Shati. The knights who had been watching began to follow him. Edmund also prepared to fight, but Lebel blocked his path.

“Are you planning to go fight with that body?”

Even without Edmund’s words, Lebel could sense his condition through the demonic energy in his body. The knights, in agreement, stopped Edmund.

“That’s right. My lord, you should rest.”

“We’ll take care of it up quickly and come back.”

Edmund, seeing the knights confidently making their promises, stared at Yutis. Having clashed swords with him, he knew he was a formidable opponent. But.

    ‘Daughter-in-law did something.’

He was taken aback when the two kissed before his eyes, but then he sensed that Yutis’ momentum had increased significantly. The knights came to Yutis’ aid, surrounding the basilisk, with him standing at the center.

“Yutis will take care of it. I’ve also sent Karon just in case, so don’t worry.”

“I heard the two of them are on bad terms.”

“The more they fight together on the battlefield, the stronger their bond becomes.”

The fight with Norman had opened up their relationship and allowed them to talk.

    “Let’s just watch from here.”

Edmund looked at Lebel. The latter was confident that Yutis couldn’t possibly lose. Edmund felt reassured. Like Yutis, Lebel was sensitive about his spouse getting hurt.

[Haa, why do I have to clean up after humans? Don’t lose. Don’t disappoint Lord Lebel.]

Yutis ignored Karon, who was rambling on and on while riding on Shati’s head, and faced the basilisk, which was displaying its ferocious aura.

Every breath it took, a venomous mist wafted out. Even from a distance, the poison seeped in, forcing them to hold their breath. Yutis and the basilisk watched each other warily.

Every time the basilisk’s gaze turned towards the cave behind Yutis, he would use his aura more intensely to draw its attention back.

“Young master, be careful. This is no ordinary basilisk.”

The knight who had fought alongside Edmund pointed toward the basilisk’s legs. Basilisks weren’t usually a difficult opponent, as long as you were careful not to touch their venom.

However, the issue was that it had gained mobility with those newly formed legs and feet.

[Don’t just say you’ll protect Lord Lebel, show it with action.]

“I know it even without you saying it.”

    [A guy with no brains.]

Yutis drew his sword. He recalled Lebel’s words.

‘There’s no need to be afraid. That’s your power.’

From the reaction after hearing he’d turned into a monster because of demonic energy, it was clear he’d realized Yutis feared the unknown power called demonic energy.

To be honest, he was scared. His wife assured him it wouldn’t happen, but you never know what’s going on in the world.

Now, he only turned into a monster during his rut, but when he was very young, his body would change into strange shapes just by getting excited.

He just found out why this time.

    [Hey, it’s coming!]

    “Let’s go.”

When Yutis tapped Shati with his foot, it started running forward.

“Let’s go too! Let’s control that thing’s movements so that the young master can run wild!”

The knights followed behind Yutis, trying to block the basilisk’s path or draw its attention with swings of their swords.

Shati tried to approach the basilisk to avoid the venom it was spewing, but was struck in the side by its whip-like tail.

    “Grrrrrr….”

    “Shati, are you alright?”

[It’s your fault! You should have cut off the tail when you saw it coming.]

Karon grumbled pitifully, but Yutis didn’t have the presence of mind to respond. Many knights have been hit by the tail and flung far away.

And the basilisk approached in an instant. Without hesitation, Yutis swung his sword. But its skin was as hard as steel, and all that could be heard was a clang.

The scales that covered its body in layers, glittering like snow, blocked the sword. He had to pry through the scales to stab it, or stab it into a weak spot.

[Sword aura, use sword aura. You were good at it back then, so why can’t you do it now?]

Yutis gripped his sword tightly. He tried several times to regain the feeling, but failed.

At that time, he was consumed by the thought of saving Lebel. He felt compelled to cut down everything he saw before him, and he longed for the strength to do so. And then, all he did was lift his sword to the sky.

He’d heard of it before. In the North, where swordsmanship was prized, reaching the pinnacle allowed wondrous techniques, as recorded in history books.

Among those recorded was the lord who founded the Hestro family. His strength drew the Northerners together, unifying them and making him the ruling lord of the North.

Yutis took a slow, deep breath. Lebel was watching. He couldn’t show his pathetic side. He’d already done it once, so a second or third time would be easier.

The basilisk circled around Yutis, striking its tail and spewing venom. When Yutis retreated to avoid the poison, it attacked Shati with the tail.

Even when facing it, its long body allowed the tail to approach from behind.

“Are you guys just going to lie there like that? Stop the tail!”

Theo shouted at the knights rolling around in the snow and ran towards the tail. They were skilled swordsmen, but their natural physiques gave them exceptional strength.

As the basilisk turned around, Yutis swung his sword towards its eyes.

    “Kkieek!”

The basilisk screamed and bled, twisting its entire body and sending dozens of men flying from its tail.

    “That’s so heavy.”

It was right that they should all fall down quickly, but they floated as if something was supporting them and fell slowly.

    “Thank you, young madam.”

    “No need for thanks.”

Lebel watched from afar, but he wasn’t completely idle. Bron wiped sweat from his forehead nearby, complaining about the heavy muscle lumps.

“But don’t you need to go?”

“There is no need. Theo is superior in swordsmanship. I will protect you and the lord here.”

Bron was right next to Lebel, even though he had never been asked to guard him.

“Daughter-in-law, do you think Yutis will win? It doesn’t seem to be working.”

“That beast’s outer skin is really tough.”

At that moment, Yutis took advantage of the basilisk’s attack and thrust his sword into its mouth. The mucous membranes weren’t strong enough to deflect the sword.

“Wouldn’t it be better for me to join too?”

“I’d rather go. If I blow it up with magic, openings will show.”

“No more magic. That’s fine, Karon is in charge.”

The reason the basilisk, which had been moving at a speed comparable to Shati’s, was gradually slowing down was because of the electricity that Karon was sending through it. No matter how hard its scales were, they couldn’t stop electricity.

“Does that demonic beast use magic?”

“Huh? How could a demonic beast use magic? It’s not magic, it’s his own ability. But Karon’s only real skill is moving through shadows, so it might not help… Ah!”

Bron remembered the great lightning bolts he had seen when Yutis had fought Karon.

“I can see a tiny current through the snow dust.”

“Because I sent him to fight alongside Yutis.”

“From what I’ve seen, they could easily kill it. What is he waiting for?”

“Sword aura. He tried a few times, but it didn’t work. I thought maybe he wasn’t able to use his true power because he didn’t have a suitable opponent, but now that a good one has appeared, he should use it.”

    “…Sword aura?”

“Yutis used it to kill the demon. Well, it was just the vessel.”

Edmund stared at Lebel with wide eyes. Bron also turned his head abruptly.

“The traces left on the castle’s walls were unusual… I naturally assumed it was the demon’s doing….”

“Didn’t you say the demon ran away?”

“He killed the human vessel, but the demon fled.”

Now that he thought about it, the demon had simply retreated. Well, it’s hard to believe a human could stand up to a demon.

“Well, if it’s Yutis, it’s definitely possible.”

But soon, Bron nodded, remembering Yutis’ past performance.

Yutis unconsciously used his demonic energy only to the point where he didn’t go crazy and lose his reason.

He probably avoided it because he knew the sensation from his rut.

But it’s a shame. Not being able to use all the strength he possessed. He could always become stronger, but it’s a shame to remain in a mediocre state.

‘He needs to get strong enough that no demon can touch him.’

Humans tend to give credit to God for everything, they praise God, saying that even the things they have accomplished themselves were possible only because of God’s blessing.

Don’t let Yutis’s accomplishments get twisted into Michael’s foresight or his grace.

Before that, he must reach a realm that humans could not touch and get the praise.

If anyone were to ask why Yutis was granted divine protection or a holy sword, Lebel hoped that everyone would unanimously answer that it was because he was worthy of it.

Yutis was fighting well. His sword, wrapped in demonic energy, was inflicting far greater damage than the other knights’ attacks.

But it was as hazy as a mist. It wasn’t enough to completely encase the sword.

At that moment, the basilisk and Lebel’s eyes met. The basilisk threw Shati away and then, in an instant, dashed across the snowfield, attempting to climb up into the cave.
