Lucien looked down at Kian, who was still lying there. His torso was covered in blotchy marks, and even after climax his cock had not gone down much.

If he pulled Kian’s legs apart just a little, his damp perineum would be revealed. And the closed hole beneath it too.

    He naturally started imagining things.

If he poured oil over the narrow entrance and widened it with his fingers, then pushed his cock inside.

If he blocked the entrance with his swollen base and kept pouring his seed endlessly.

If he kept mating without rest until he put his child in him…

His lower stomach felt heavy and his cock responded. Just the thought made his blood boil. He even heard a voice shouting at him to act now, saying it was natural between a dragon and his mate. But…

    “Lord Lucien?”

Maybe he found it strange that Lucien was staring, Kian carefully called him. When Lucien met those black eyes, he had a realization.

    I can’t do it.’

It was not because he feared being hated. If it meant keeping his mate by his side, he could accept all the hatred.

It was not that he thought taking only the body was meaningless. Lucien was grateful even for a body without feelings.

And yet he could not do it, because he knew how his mate would react.

If Kian learned that a single night’s accident had led to a child, he would say this.

    –It’s fine.

He would not be upset or resentful over what happened.

–I was careless, so I will take responsibility.

But Lucien knew. Kian did not say it was fine because it truly was. He said it was fine because he had to.

Lucien wanted his mate to be happy. Not fine because he had to be, not doing things because he had to. He wanted him to find what he liked and enjoy life.

Having reached this point, Lucien mocked himself.

    ‘I’m so foolish.’

Lucien chose to suffer the fear that he might be abandoned rather than watch his mate be crushed by too much duty.

‘One day I’ll regret this choice.’

But even so, he did not want to go back, and he found that strange. Lucien called to the one kissing the back of his hand.

    “Kian.”

Kian’s eyes followed Lucien. Lucien’s lips moved. Words stuck in his throat.

…He wanted to say he loved him.

    That he loved him.

That he loved him so much, Kian had become more precious than himself.

That just imagining a moment without him felt like his heart was being torn into ten thousand pieces.

That if he lost him, he would cry until he went mad. That he would destroy the world and die with it. So please.

…He wanted to ask him to love him.

But feelings that desperate were hard to speak aloud. Lucien swallowed the words along with the saliva on his tongue. Instead he smiled brightly.

    “I like you.”

    The reply immediately came.

“I like you too, Lord Lucien.”

Kian smiled softly. It was a warm smile like the sunlight of spring that melts frozen snow.

Lucien hugged Kian. He wanted to tie him tightly like this so he could not leave. Perhaps because of that thought, he unknowingly held him too strongly, and Kian complained.

    “It hurts.”

    “Bear with this much.”

Lucien tightened his arms around Kian even more. Thinking he was joking, Kian laughed and stroked Lucien’s head.

    “Alright.”

That obedient reply made Lucien glad.

The two held each other tightly without moving.

Kian came to his senses an hour later. Having dozed off, he lifted himself from the bed. The blanket that had covered him up to his neck slipped down, and the air in the room touched his bare skin.

    “You woke up?”

Lucien, sitting in a chair by the window reading a book, spoke. At that moment, the memories of what happened just before he fell asleep came back to Kian.

    –I like you. I like you…

–Lucien-nim, you’re so cute. From head to toe I want to devour all of you.

–Not alone, I want to do it together…

If only he could have lost those memories, but the scenes were vivid in his head. Kian grabbed his head and let out a small groan.

    “Uuugh…”

Lucien, startled by the reaction, jumped up from his chair. Before he knew it, he was at Kian’s bedside, putting a hand to his forehead.

“Does your head hurt? Is it a side effect of the medicine?”

Kian, still holding his head, muttered.

“Yes. The side effects of the medicine are too severe.”

“What symptoms do you have now?”

“I feel like I’ll die of embarrassment.”

    “Die of embarr…”

Lucien, repeating the symptoms to memorize them, stopped. Kian continued.

“If you don’t want me to die, please forget what happened this time. I’ll try to erase it from my memory too.”

His words were mixed a bit of childishness, Lucien laughed.

“Are there no other side effects? Like headaches.”

“After sleeping well, my condition feels even better. If I can erase only that memory, everything will be solved.”

“Alright. I’ll ask Frederick if there’s been any reply from the one who made the medicine.”

Kian was quite surprised at Lucien’s words. Until now, Lucien had only called the two of them blue hair and red hair.

    “You knew Frederick’s name?”

    “Of course I knew.”

Lucien, standing by the door, looked dumbfounded. With one leg slanted, his posture looked rough.

Even so, Kian could not take his eyes off him. His eyebrows raised arrogantly looked beautiful. His blond hair, sweaty and then dried so it looked rougher than usual, still shone brightly. Even though it was only words, Kian’s eyes were drawn to his lips as they moved.

    Kian forced himself to blink.

    Thump. Thump. Thump.

But the effect would not disappear.

‘I thought the medicine wore off since my mind feels clear, but maybe not.

    “I’ll be back.”

Lucien opened the door and went into the hallway. As soon as he was gone, the uncomfortable feeling in Kian’s heart also disappeared. He felt an unfamiliar hunger instead.

‘I thought if I was left alone, I could kick the blanket around and blame myself as much as I want.’

The empty feeling did not fade. Kian touched his stomach and stared blankly at the door.

    –I like you.

He did not know why the confession he heard after so long would not leave his ears. The face that smiled with crinkled eyes was the same.

    ‘He was really beautiful.’

Lost in thought, Kian pressed his cheek with his palm, then took it away.

‘It’s just the medicine’s effect left over. I shouldn’t think about it.’

Kian stood up. He put on the neatly folded clothes and went down to the first floor. By then the dining hall was already filled with people.

    ‘Why did so many gather?’

They were outsiders who came to investigate what had happened at the Magic Tower. Not only mages but also knights and priests crowded the place.

Through the open windows, birds with messages tied to their legs flew in and out nonstop.

    “Sir Kian, over here!”

When he turned his head, Daisy was raising her hand and calling him.

Knights in armor stood around daisy. As he came closer, Daisy made a place beside her.

    “What happened?”

“After you went up, something happened. Instead of explaining, it’s better if you see it directly.”

On the table were books stacked like a mountain. Daisy pulled one out. It was the Celestia scripture, easy to find anywhere in the kingdom.

Daisy opened the book at a random page. On the page was writing in dark red, like it had been written in blood.

“The Day of Judgment will come.”

It was the same sentence Kian had seen in the Magic Tower. Daisy continued.

    “It’s not only this one.”

Daisy slowly flipped through the book. Thin paper fluttered as it turned. Over the densely written verses, every page had the words “The Day of Judgment will come.”

“And it’s not only this scripture either.”

Daisy picked up another scripture from the table. That one too was filled on every page with the same words.

“From the news gathered so far, it seems this is happening in every scripture in the western kingdom.”

Kian pressed his eyes and let out a deep groan.

The book he had seen in the Magic Tower listed ten signs that foretold someone’s descent. The fourth was “Those who fall from high towers will not rise again.”

‘The next was “It will be proclaimed to the world that judgment is coming.”’

The current event was surely the fifth sign.

Just then a bird flew in. A knight sitting across from Daisy checked the message tied to its leg.

The knight walked to the table with the kingdom map spread on it. He spoke to the priest standing guard there, and the priest marked it with a red pen.

“These are the places where it has happened so far.”

Kian glanced at the map from afar. Daisy continued.

“Along with this strange event, rumors are spreading that fire from the sky will fall. Frightened people are trying to enter the temples by any means. There are even groups fleeing to the capital with their families.”

    “That is quite serious.”

“The Western Knights and the Tower mages have been ordered to calm the people first. It seems they will send personnel to each village using this inn as the base.”

    “Hmm…”

“Sor Kian, you must be surprised to see so many gathered while you were gone. But how are you after taking the wrong medicine? Are you alright?”

    Kian smiled.

“The medicine doesn’t last long. I’m fine now.”
