by LeviathanEunsol had found a new hobby besides watching TV. Whenever he got hungry, he opened the delivery app and spent time thinking about what to eat.
He still liked the food Bulgom cooked for him, but sometimes he craved the intense flavors of restaurant food. He also enjoyed the little thrill of buying something impulsively while looking at pictures in the app. The problem was that there were side effects to that habit.
“Why isn’t it coming?”
Eunsol murmured without taking his eyes off his phone. The delivery app was open on the screen, and the order status said the food was still being cooked.
The problem was that only five minutes remained before the expected delivery time. Usually, food arrived earlier than the app’s estimate, but since it hadn’t even left for delivery yet, he started to feel anxious.
“The twins must be hungry. What should I do? Should I call them? But the owner might feel uncomfortable if I do that, right?”
Maybe he should wait until the scheduled time passed, or perhaps he could ask customer service. The delivery wasn’t exactly delayed, just slower than usual, but his anxiety continued growing as time went on.
“What do I do? What do I do? My babies are going to go hungry, huuuh…”
Tears started to pool in his eyes.
“Eunsol, what’s wrong?”
Jaebeom, who had just come home from work, saw Eunsol on the sofa with a teary face and quickly went to him.
‘So the delivery’s giving trouble today.’
He looked at the phone in his hand and the delivery app on the screen, then gently brushed the tears from his eyes.
“The twins are hungry but the food isn’t coming. Did they not start cooking yet? What do I do? I can’t let them wait any longer.”
Jaebeom worried that he might hurt himself from biting his lips so hard they were turning pale. He pulled Eunsol’s thumb gently away and comforted him like he always did.
“Really? That must’ve been upsetting. Then how about having some fruit before the food comes?”
By now, things like this weren’t hard for him. Just as he comforted Eunsol when he cried watching dramas, he helped him calm down again.
“I want to eat peaches.”
“Alright. I’ll bring them right away.”
He patted Eunsol’s head and went to the kitchen, but even then, Eunsol couldn’t take his eyes off the phone. Just when there was one minute left on the timer,
Ding-dong.
The doorbell rang. The food must have arrived. Eunsol quickly lifted his head. With a hopeful look, he sluggishly stood up and was just about to take a step when Jaebeom, holding a plate, noticed him.
“Stay there. I’ll check.”
He hurried over, guided Eunsol back to the sofa, and placed the plate of peaches on his lap. He even put a fork in his hand, all in one smooth motion.
Then he took out his phone from his pocket and opened the smart home app. When he checked the building entrance camera, he saw the delivery driver standing there.
“The food’s here!”
Eunsol brightened instantly as he looked at the screen over Jaebeom’s shoulder, already having eaten half the peaches. His quick mood changes were so cute that Jaebeom kissed his forehead before pressing the entry approval button.
Soon, a notification popped up on Eunsol’s phone saying the delivery was complete.
“Finally!”
His bright face made Jaebeom smile as he walked to the front door. When he opened it, a large delivery bag was placed beside the door.
Whatever he had ordered, it was heavy. Jaebeom peeked inside and sighed.
“You two really give Eunsol a hard time. If he keeps eating like this and ends up unable to move because of you, what am I supposed to do?”
Even as he scolded the unborn twins who couldn’t hear him, his face was full of affection. He brought the food back to the living room where Eunsol was waiting.
“Put it here, please.”
Eunsol, who was already prepared, gestured toward the living room table. Lately, he had preferred eating there instead of at the dining table, so spoons, chopsticks, and water were already set.
Jaebeom opened the delivery bag and began unpacking the contents. He had been craving spicy food for a while, but recently, his choices had become unpredictable.
Today’s pick was braised chicken. It came with thick rice cakes, glass noodles, and even crispy scorched rice added in. There were also fried chicken gizzards, french fries, rolled omelets, and side dishes, leaving barely any space on the table.
“This looks so good!”
Eunsol clapped his hands, delighted, and Jaebeom laughed again. He didn’t worry about whether Eunsol could finish it all.
Pregnant Eunsol had quite an appetite, and Jaebeom himself wasn’t known to eat little either.
“Shall we eat?”
“Yes!”
Eunsol answered brightly, and Jaebeom smiled as he served food onto his small plate. But to his surprise, after taking a big bite of the chicken leg, Eunsol hesitated and looked at him.
“What’s wrong?”
“The taste is fine, but…”
Jaebeom easily guessed what he was trying to say next.
“The seasoning must be too strong for the twins. Then how about picking out just the pieces on top? Or you can just eat the fried ones.”
Since this kind of thing had happened several times before, Jaebeom wasn’t flustered and immediately focused on what needed to be done.
“I’ll eat the fried ones. But what about this?”
Seeing Eunsol starting to frown again as if he might cry, Jaebeom once more skillfully comforted him.
“Bulgom likes braised chicken. He’ll enjoy it if we give it to him.”
His subordinate’s food preferences weren’t something Jaebeom cared much about. All that mattered was easing Eunsol’s worries.
“Ah!”
Seeing Eunsol’s face brighten, Jaebeom felt relieved. Among all the symptoms he had seen during the pregnancy, the hardest one to deal with was the mood swings.
Since Eunsol’s emotions changed several times a day, Jaebeom had to stay alert at all times. But even that became an opportunity for him to watch over Eunsol more carefully.
“But that won’t be enough, right? Should I order something else for you?”
“I’ll do it.”
Since this kind of thing also happened often, Jaebeom nodded and separated the chicken from the rest of the food.
Eunsol’s eyes sparkled as he quickly finished placing a new order. While he did that, Jaebeom gave the leftover braised chicken to Bulgom and came back.
By the time they finished the first meal, the new delivery had arrived. As usual, Jaebeom went to the door himself and brought the food in. What he held were assorted fried items: sundae with various innards, fried seaweed rolls, dumplings, squid, and fish cake soup.
“Looks like the twins wanted something crispy today.”
Jaebeom muttered unconsciously as he looked over the food spread across the table. Eunsol, who was just about to pick up his chopsticks, stopped and looked at him.
“…What is it?”
Seeing Eunsol’s trembling expression, Jaebeom realized he had slipped up and asked carefully.
“Did you get sick of it because I ordered too much?”
“No, of course not.”
He immediately answered, exactly as expected. It was forbidden to hesitate or ask questions in times like this.
“You’re complaining because I keep eating greasy food, right?”
“Not at all. I just like seeing you eat well, that’s all.”
He had to say only kind things and make sure Eunsol knew it wasn’t his fault.
“I think I’ve gained too much weight.”
“You look good. Besides, that’s proof the twins are growing strong.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Come on, eat. You said the twins have been hungry since earlier.”
“That’s right.”
Fortunately, Jaebeom’s quick thinking defused the situation, and he sighed in relief. The table full of food soon disappeared completely. Eunsol even made sure to have dessert afterward.
“I should’ve eaten a little less.”
That one line made Jaebeom realize it wasn’t time to relax yet, and his expression turned thoughtful.
“Does your stomach feel heavy?”
“No, it’s not that. I just feel like my belly’s gotten too big.”
“That’s because our twins are in there.”
“I know, but doesn’t it look bigger than before?”
“Maybe because they ate well.”
Even after comforting him several times, Eunsol didn’t relax. Jaebeom knew that at times like this, he had to wait.
He had learned from experience that offering quick solutions could make things worse.
“I can’t stay still. I should at least walk around the complex.”
As always, Eunsol reached his own conclusion and stood up. Since his Omega had decided that, Jaebeom silently began to tidy up.
“It’s still cold outside, so make sure you dress warmly.”
He even bundled Eunsol up carefully so he wouldn’t catch a cold.
They felt the cold wind as soon as they stepped outside. It was already February, but winter showed no sign of leaving.
It was cold, and Eunsol’s body had grown heavier, so walking alone was hard. The two walked side by side, their shoulders almost touching, as they took a slow stroll around the complex.
“Chairman said he ordered twin cribs yesterday.”
“Don’t accept them.”
“I saw the pictures, they’re so cute.”
“…Alright. I’ll tell them to clear the room.”
The words of refusal changed instantly at the hopeful tone in Eunsol’s voice.
“I can’t wait to meet our babies.”
A happy atmosphere surrounded both of them as they walked, chatting about small things.
