TVDC 65: Kissing
by starlightxelQiu Xuning was extremely shy, not even daring to look. Closing his eyes, he followed the memory from just now, wanting to kiss He Zhiyuan’s beautiful lips.
Once he kissed that soft part, Qiu Xuning slowly opened his eyes and met He Zhiyuan’s light brown eyes.
Qiu Xuning froze. His face immediately turned bright red. He stepped backward and stammered, “Y–you’re actually not asleep!”
He Zhiyuan’s eyes were fully awake. He stretched out a finger, pointed at the corner of his mouth, and said, “You kissed the wrong place.”
Qiu Xuning had just kissed the corner of He Zhiyuan’s mouth.
Qiu Xuning’s breathing was rapid, somewhat embarrassed and annoyed. “You’re still pretending to sleep!”
He Zhiyuan sat up from the bed, looked at Qiu Xuning, and smiled. “If I didn’t pretend to sleep, how would I know that you would secretly try to kiss me?”
“I… then I’ll kiss you openly and properly!” Qiu Xuning feigned anger, blushing as he stepped forward a few steps. One of his knees was on the bed and he grabbed He Zhiyuan’s shoulders. He leaned down, still intending to kiss him.
He Zhiyuan blocked his face with one hand and said, “No.”
Qiu Xuning didn’t have much courage to begin with. After being rejected by He Zhiyuan, he went limp like a deflated balloon. He pursed his lips and stepped back, the blush on his face climbing up to the tips of his ears.
He Zhiyuan saw him like this and subconsciously rubbed his fingertips. The corners of his lips lifted as he continued to smile.
Qiu Xuning saw that he was still smiling and finally got annoyed. He couldn’t help but reach out and punch his shoulder. “You’re still smiling, what’s so funny?”
He Zhiyuan slowly restrained his smile, his voice slightly hoarse. “Nothing’s funny.”
Qiu Xuning reached out and lifted his blanket, shouting, “Get up quickly, don’t sleep in my bed.”
He Zhiyuan heard this but instead lay back down, grasping the blanket tightly and tugging it over himself a little.
Qiu Xuning saw him lingering in bed, and the hand holding the blanket slowly relaxed. “Did you take a shower? If you came to sleep in my bed after sweating, I’d be angry.”
He Zhiyuan said, “I did.”
He lifted a corner of the blanket, gently patted the empty half of the bed, and looked at Qiu Xuning with a hint of a smile. “Come up, let’s sleep together.”
Qiu Xuning’s cheeks were still red, his eyes contrasting with He Zhiyuan’s, even more moist and sparkling. He looked at He Zhiyuan, hesitant and unsure.
He Zhiyuan said, “You dare to steal a kiss, but don’t dare to get on the bed?”
Qiu Xuning swallowed, then said, “I… I haven’t showered.”
He Zhiyuan had no way around his almost stubborn little cleanliness obsession. He looked at Qiu Xuning’s rosy little face and said softly, “I don’t mind you.”
Qiu Xuning coughed lightly and said softly, “Then I’ll go take a shower first, and… then come back?”
He Zhiyuan took a deep breath, put down the blanket, his tone carrying a hint of laziness. “Up to you.”
Qiu Xuning took his clothes and went to the bathroom. Not long after, he came out.
The weather was still cool. Although the air conditioning and heating were on, Qiu Xuning still wore long sleeves and long pants, wrapping himself up tightly.
He walked to the bed, lifted the blanket, and saw He Zhiyuan’s face. His eyes were closed and he looked asleep.
However, Qiu Xuning didn’t dare trust He Zhiyuan now—he had just tricked him.
Qiu Xuning carefully lay down next to He Zhiyuan. He had just tucked in the blanket when a strong arm reached over, rested on his shoulder, then it slowly tightened, wrapping him in.
“You’re not asleep?” Qiu Xuning felt the warmth of his arm and his voice trembled slightly. Whenever He Zhiyuan touched him, he always felt shy.
He Zhiyuan turned to his side, resting his chin on Qiu Xuning’s shoulder. He said in a low voice, “Waiting for you.”
The final tone carried a slight nasal lilt, teasingly sexy.
The blanket was filled with a fragrance—a mix of body wash and the sun-warmed scent. Qiu Xuning sank into the soft blanket, took a deep breath, and didn’t dare to move.
He Zhiyuan gently nuzzled his shoulder and asked in a slightly muffled voice, “What did you eat at home?”
Qiu Xuning said softly, “I ate taro dumplings. The small taro I bought—I originally wanted to bring some back but there were too many people at home so none was left.”
He Zhiyuan didn’t say anything. His hand slowly moved down to touch Qiu Xuning’s stomach. “Are you full?”
Qiu Xuning’s heartbeat raced and he softly made an ‘mm’ sound. “I also ate a bowl of rice.”
He Zhiyuan smiled softly, a laugh in his voice. “Your stomach is still rounded.”
Qiu Xuning blushed. He reached his hand downward and his fingers brushed the back of He Zhiyuan’s hand, trembling slightly as he slowly covered it. He whispered, “I didn’t eat that much.”
He cleared his throat softly and asked, “What did you eat for lunch?”
He Zhiyuan restrained his smile and said, “Instant noodles.”
Qiu Xuning: “…”
He could feel the emotion in He Zhiyuan’s tone. After a moment of silence, and holding back his embarrassment, he whispered, “I spent six days with you, and only one day eating with them.”
It wasn’t even a full day. He had eaten just one lunch and then came back.
He Zhiyuan gently stroked Qiu Xuning’s slightly rounded belly and said softly, “A week, I want all seven days.”
Qiu Xuning: “…”
Qiu Xuning smiled. Although his nose still smelled the scent of his own bed, after He Zhiyuan lay down, the scent carried an unusual allure, making him softly sniff the blanket’s smell.
They used the same body wash and even the shampoo was the same type.
Qiu Xuning and He Zhiyuan had already been living together for four months. During these months, they ate and lived together, went to and from school together, and their relationship was closer than ever before, yet it always remained in a subtle delicate state.
They should be considered lovers… right? However, they hadn’t taken things further, as if… in name only.
Qiu Xuning still remembered a dream he had long ago—a dream where he was kissed by He Zhiyuan. However, now… they had never kissed!
Not even once!
Qiu Xuning’s eyes flickered, a restlessness appearing in them. H–he wanted to… he wanted to kiss He Zhiyuan!
Qiu Xuning’s breathing quickened and the warmth on his face rose along with it.
He Zhiyuan noticed his restlessness. His hand slowly moved upward, tracing over Qiu Xuning’s slender chest, and finally resting on his face. “What’s wrong?” he asked softly.
The blanket was pushed aside by his arm, revealing Qiu Xuning’s flushed face. They looked at each other, and surprisingly, Qiu Xuning didn’t look away first. His exhaled breath was warm and gentle, his eyes seeming to hold a watery gleam, shimmering with captivating light.
He Zhiyuan stared at him, as if sensing some signal he was giving off. His gaze grew slightly deeper.
“Th…that…” Qiu Xuning swallowed, still feeling the dryness and awkwardness in his throat. Naturally very shy, he found it all very embarrassing and hard to speak.
“‘What do you want to say?’ He Zhiyuan’s voice gradually grew a bit hoarse, his gaze fixed firmly on Qiu Xuning.”
“Why did you push me away just now…?” Qiu Xuning ultimately didn’t choose to be direct, he instead asked him very politely.
He Zhiyuan replied, “No reason.”
Qiu Xuning was dissatisfied with his answer. Even though he had grown a lot over the past year, some of his little gestures and habits hadn’t changed. He still liked to press his lips lightly, his round cheeks puffed slightly, and his eyes opened wide, staring at He Zhiyuan like a cat’s eyes. “You’re brushing me off again.”
He Zhiyuan gently hugged him tighter, burying his face in the hollow of his neck, and said in a muffled voice, “Go to sleep, I’m tired.”
Qiu Xuning tugged at the blanket, exposing his face outside it. He felt He Zhiyuan’s warm breath sprinkling over the delicate skin on the inside of his neck, stirring a layer of fine, tingling sensation and… something more.
He still didn’t know what a kiss felt like. Wouldn’t He Zhiyuan be curious too?
Qiu Xuning’s face was still flushed, and he felt not the slightest bit sleepy.
After He Zhiyuan woke up, it was already past four in the evening. He felt a heaviness in his chest, reached out his hand, and sure enough, he felt the cat.
The cat and dog at home usually didn’t dare get on the bed but the slightly germophobic Qiu Xuning surprisingly indulged the cat, which grew bolder. As long as the door was open, it dared to sneak in, climb onto the bed, and even crawl into the blankets.
Perhaps sensing that the one in the blankets wasn’t Qiu Xuning, this time the cat didn’t crawl in. Instead, it lay on He Zhiyuan’s chest, curled into a ball, and slept soundly.
He Zhiyuan petted it a few times, and all he heard was a few soft ‘meows,’ as if it were murmuring in its sleep.
He Zhiyuan petted it a few time—he only heard it softly ‘meow’ a few times, as if murmuring in its sleep.
He Zhiyuan gently sat up. The cat was also awakened, seeing him, it affectionately pounced toward him, seeking pets and strokes.
He Zhiyuan casually petted it then patted its rear a few times with a strong sense of driving it away.
The cat was quickly shooed off the bed. He Zhiyuan watched it sit obediently on the floor, then it licked its paw, glanced at him, crouched on its hind legs, gathered energy, and jumped back onto the bed.
It didn’t dare lie down, still stealing a few shifty glances at He Zhiyuan. It finally tiptoed to the foot of the bed, sat down, and carefully stared at him again.
Cats are actually very sensitive to human emotions. It might sense that He Zhiyuan’s affection for it wasn’t deep, even somewhat indifferent, so it appeared very cautious in front of him. But sometimes, it shamelessly sought attention and petting, looking silly and naive.
This reminded him a lot of Qiu Xuning. As the saying goes, pets follow their owner. He Zhiyuan watched the cat cautiously observing his expression and thought of Qiu Xuning’s face. His brows and eyes softened considerably. He reached out his hand and waved to the cat, his voice still hoarse from sleep. “Come here.”
The cat tilted its head and wobbled as it looked at him, hesitated just a moment, then stood up and ran over quickly. Its hind legs straightened, and its two thick paws climbed onto He Zhiyuan’s shoulders. Its round, chubby face came close and sniffed He Zhiyuan’s face, then it stuck out its tongue and licked He Zhiyuan’s lips.
This action came unexpectedly, and He Zhiyuan didn’t have time to dodge.
And this scene was just seen by Qiu Xuning walking over. He slightly opened his mouth, feeling inexplicably indignant—
He hadn’t even kissed He Zhiyuan’s lips!
