ASFSODS 101
by starlightxel“Teacher Jiang?” Wen Chi looked at Jiang Siheng in puzzlement, then noticed the glances cast by the others, and grabbed Jiang Siheng’s wrist, trying to pull it down.
The film set fell completely silent. Jiang Siheng seemed to sense something, slowly let go of Wen Chi, lowered his lashes, and looked at the boy in front of him.
“What’s wrong with you?” Being watched by Jiang Siheng, Wen Chi unconsciously lowered his voice.
Jiang Siheng shook his head. “It’s nothing.” He turned his head toward Director Xu. “Sorry, Director Xu, can we do it again?”
Director Xu nodded. He didn’t say much. “Alright, let’s start from when the masked man appeared.”
The makeup artist wiped the blood from the corners of Wen Chi’s mouth and his neck, and fixed his makeup again. Wen Chi stood still, yet couldn’t help glancing toward Jiang Siheng—the man’s state just now made him a bit worried.
Xu Zhouwei looked at Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng with a deep, unreadable gaze. Just now, he had been standing rather close to them, so perhaps he was the only one who saw how possessive Jiang Siheng’s gesture of holding Wen Chi actually was.
Maybe the two of them had already been together long ago.
Taking advantage of the moment before it started, Wen Chi slowly inched his way toward Jiang Siheng and leaned forward. “Teacher Jiang, were you really alright just now?”
The boy’s voice was right beside his ear. Wen Chi’s face was free of blood now—the one standing before him was his Wen Chi, not “Wen Weiyang.” Jiang Siheng let out a soft laugh, raised his hand, patted Wen Chi’s head, and said, “I’m fine.”
Wen Chi looked at Jiang Siheng doubtfully, but when he saw that the man’s once-reddened eyes had completely returned to normal, he finally felt relieved.
When the final shot was finished, Wen Chi kept his eyes closed, patiently waiting for Director Xu to call “cut,” knowing there would still be a few more shots after his “death.”
“Cut—done!” Director Xu stood up, leading the applause. “Congratulations, Wen Chi, on finishing your scenes.”
Hearing that, Wen Chi opened his eyes and immediately met Jiang Siheng’s gaze. He couldn’t help but smile, held onto Jiang Siheng’s hand to stand up, and was caught off guard when a bouquet of flowers was suddenly placed into his arms.
“Come, come, come, Teacher Wen, blow the candles,” Xiao Tang said as he walked over, holding the cake.
The character “Wen Weiyang,” played by Wen Chi, was only a supporting role, but he still had a considerable amount of screen time throughout the whole drama.
Wen Chi let out a small “oh,” and with his face still streaked with blood, leaned forward to blow out the candles. “Thank you.”
Jiang Siheng’s eyes carried a smile as he watched the boy looking a bit flustered. He reached out to take the bouquet and held it for him.
Aside from the applause and flowers, Wen Chi also received the wrap-up red envelope from Director Xu. He gave it a little squeeze and felt that it seemed quite hefty.
Sangsang kept taking photos from the side. Ever since Wen Chi joined the production, she had not only worked as Wen Chi’s assistant but also served as his on-set life and work chronicler, taking countless photos of him during filming.
Chen Li leaned in close to Wen Chi’s side, cheerfully slinging an arm around his shoulder, and said, “Hey, Wen Chi, don’t leave so fast. Let’s grab a late-night snack after we wrap up to celebrate for you.”
After Wen Chi finished filming, everyone was going to have a late-night meal, which had been decided long ago.
Wen Chi smiled and nodded. “Okay.”
Watching the boy surrounded by the crowd, Jiang Siheng, standing outside the crowd, only looked on with a faint smile.
Wen Chi had wrapped up filming, while the others still had scenes left to shoot.
After finishing the cake, Wen Chi went back to remove his makeup, changed clothes, and then strolled back to watch his boyfriend continue filming.
The phone in his pocket vibrated a few times. Wen Chi took it out and glanced at it—it was a call from Jin Ge, and seeing no one answer, he probably hung up.
【Jin Ge: Congratulations on wrapping up filming.】
【Jin Ge: [Red envelope]】
【Jin Ge: Where are you? Didn’t you say you had already wrapped up?】
【Jin Ge: Oh right, I’ve arranged a brand endorsement collaboration for you. Take a look at it—if you think it’s fine, we’ll shoot in half a month.】
Wen Chi moved a small stool over and sat down, opened the few images Jin Ge had sent, and after looking through them carefully, he first claimed the red envelope, then replied with a “thank you” and “ok.”
One can only say—what a cold and indifferent Wen Chi.
“Chi Ge, did you see the message Jin Ge sent you?” Sangsang leaned over. “He asked me to check with you.”
“Just replied.” Wen Chi raised his phone and gave it a little wave in front of Sangsang.
“Alright then.”
Wen Chi said, “Sangsang, we’re leaving tomorrow afternoon.”
“Huh? Leaving already?” Sangsang was a little surprised. She thought Wen Chi would stay for a few more days before going back.
“Yeah, yeah, we’re leaving,” Wen Chi said. “I have something to take care of at home.”
As an assistant, whatever the boss says goes. Sangsang didn’t ask any more questions and went to check the flight for tomorrow afternoon.
After speaking, Wen Chi turned his head to keep watching his boyfriend film, but unexpectedly met Jiang Siheng’s gaze. Wen Chi originally thought Jiang Siheng was about to do something, but the man only looked at him once before quickly averting his eyes.
It wasn’t just that one time—Wen Chi noticed that in the time that followed, whenever it was break time, Jiang Siheng would always look at him, as if… he were trying to confirm something.
…
By the time the crew wrapped up, it was already close to one in the morning. Wen Chi had already taken a nap on the sofa in Jiang Siheng’s dressing room, and it was Sangsang who woke him up.
Wen Chi opened his eyes in a daze, his sleepy look making Sangsang find him adorable.
“Chi Ge, they’re done now.”
“Hmm…” Wen Chi was still groggy from sleep, and it took him quite a while to realize what Sangsang meant by done.
Jiang Siheng pushed the door open and walked in, seeing Wen Chi sitting on the sofa, yawning.
When Sangsang saw Jiang Siheng, she very sensibly left the dressing room.
As soon as Jiang Siheng walked up to Wen Chi, the boy’s head immediately buried into his lower abdomen, his voice thick with drowsiness. “Teacher Jiang, I’m so sleepy…”
“The clothes are dirty.” Jiang Siheng patted the back of Wen Chi’s head and pressed down on his shoulder to put some distance between them. “Do you still want to go eat late-night snack with them? If not, I’ll tell them.”
“Yeah, but I’ll have to see if they still want to go.” Wen Chi stretched lazily, and just as he was about to go ask Chen Li and the others, a message from Chen Li popped up on WeChat.
【Chen Li: Wait for us a bit! We’ll remove our makeup and change clothes, then come right away!】
【Chen Li: But where are you right now?】
Jiang Siheng watched Wen Chi typing his message, his gaze resting on the boy’s round head from behind.
“What time is your flight tomorrow?”
“Five-thirty in the afternoon,” Wen Chi lifted his head and said.
Jiang Siheng made a quiet sound of acknowledgement, brushing the back of his hand against Wen Chi’s cheek. “I’m going to change my clothes.”
Jiang Siheng picked up his clothes and walked into the changing room, closed the door. Wen Chi stared at the changing room door for several seconds, thought for a moment, then walked over and stood outside. “Teacher Jiang.”
The noise inside paused for a moment, then came a response, “Hmm?”
“Why were you always looking at me on set just now?” Actually, Wen Chi had already thought of an answer, but he still wanted to confirm it.
The dressing room suddenly fell silent. Wen Chi waited for a while but didn’t hear Jiang Siheng’s voice, thinking something had happened. Just as he was about to knock on the fitting room door, the door suddenly opened from the inside, and a hand reached out, pulling him inside.
To be honest, it was a bit unexpected.
Wen Chi stood between the door and Jiang Siheng, his hands loosely clenched into fists, raised in front of his chest. He glanced up and down at Jiang Siheng. “What are you doing?”
“I want to kiss you,” Jiang Siheng thought for a moment. “You’ve been bothering me outside just now.”
What a villain making the first complaint.
Wen Chi glared at Jiang Siheng. “Where did I bother you!” Clearly, his talking didn’t even interrupt his changing of clothes.
Jiang Siheng kissed the tip of the boy’s nose and said confidently, “You’re bothering me.”
Wen Chi: “…”
Wen Chi pushed him away. “You’re so annoying, hurry up and change clothes and remove your makeup, I’ll wait for you outside.”
As Wen Chi turned to leave, his wrist was suddenly grabbed, and then he heard Jiang Siheng call his name.
“Huh? What’s wrong?” Wen Chi turned around and looked at Jiang Siheng in confusion.
“Kiss me.”
Wen Chi: “…”
Jiang Siheng stared at him intently, and no matter how helpless Wen Chi looked, he still didn’t let go of him.
“Alright, alright,” Wen Chi, feeling like he was indeed someone who spoils his boyfriend, reached out and wrapped his arms around the man’s lean waist, slightly tiptoeing, and gave Jiang Siheng a peck on the lips.
Then he patted Jiang Siheng on the back, speaking in a gentle tone, “Teacher Jiang, don’t be scared. It was just acting, I’m perfectly fine.”
Jiang Siheng froze for a moment, turning his head to see the boy’s fair ear, as if he was amused by Wen Chi’s tone, which sounded like he was coaxing a child. “Okay.”
Wen Chi let go of him and said, “I’m going out.”
Otherwise, if he goes out later, he will just run into Chen Li and the others looking for him. That would be awkward.
Not long after, Chen Li and the others finished packing and came to the dressing room.
Chen Li raised his hand and gently knocked twice on the door.
After a while, the door opened from the inside, and Chen Li saw Wen Chi and, standing behind him, Jiang Siheng. He froze for a moment.
But he quickly snapped out of it and said to Wen Chi, “Let’s go, let’s go, I’ve already reserved the seats.”
The place for the late-night snack is near the film studio, just a short walk away.
Although it’s quite late, the late-night food stalls are still bustling with business, and the air is filled with the aroma of various foods and spices.
Wen Chi wasn’t really that hungry, but as soon as he smelled the aroma, his appetite was immediately stirred.
Fortunately, Chen Li had reserved a table in advance. The owner led them around to the back, and there was only one empty table left inside, which was probably the one the owner had reserved for them.
Suddenly, a group of young people walked in, and each one was handsome or beautiful. The talking in the space gradually quieted down.
“Look at them, are they celebrities?”
“I don’t know, but they’re all so handsome, they must be, right?”
“Why does it feel like their presence is a bit overwhelming?”
“If my boyfriend were also this handsome, that would be great.”
“Hey, I’m still right next to you…”
“Holy crap, it’s Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng!”
“And Chen Li and Xu Zhouwei!!!”
“Damn it, what is this all-star lineup?”
“There seems to be a film studio nearby, holy crap, they couldn’t have just finished filming and come out for a late-night snack, could they?”
“It’s not impossible.”
Some people recognized Wen Chi and the others, but they didn’t dare approach to confirm or disturb them. They could only sneakily take out their phones to take pictures.
The owner walked over and placed a menu on the table, then said, “You can go up and grab whatever you want from the front, and we’ll charge based on the tokens at the end.”
The owner said that and left, but Chen Li and the others remained seated, doing, you look at me, I look at you.
Wen Chi yawned, seeing that they were sitting there dumbfounded and not going to get food. He curiously asked, “Weren’t you just complaining about being so hungry? Why aren’t you moving now?”
“We’re just…” Chen Li waved his hand, gesturing, “Respecting our elders, oh!”
The girl sitting next to Chen Li slapped his head irritably, awkwardly looked at Jiang Siheng, and said, “Jiang Ge, we didn’t mean to say you’re old, it’s just, you’re of a higher generation than us.”
Chen Li, embarrassed, said, “…Your way of putting it isn’t any better than mine.”
“……” Jiang Siheng glanced at Wen Chi, who was laughing happily next to him.
Noticing the man’s gaze, Wen Chi pressed his lips together to hold back his laughter and grabbed Jiang Siheng’s arm. “Let’s go, let’s go, we’ll go get food first.”
As soon as Jiang Siheng wasn’t around, the others at the table let out a slight sigh of relief. Xu Zhouwei looked at them, somewhat speechless. “Do you really need to be so scared of Teacher Jiang?”
“It’s not fear.” Chen Li patted his chest, then turned to glance at Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng standing in front of the fridge. “It’s just that Jiang Ge’s presence is so strong, we don’t dare act fake in front of him. Probably only Wen Chi dares to be wild in front of Jiang Ge.”
Here it comes again.
It’s Wen Chi again.
Xu Zhouwei’s expression was somewhat gloomy. Every time they talked about Jiang Siheng, this group of people always thought of Wen Chi.
“Forget it, forget it, let’s not talk about it, let’s go get some food. Xu Zhouwei, aren’t you going to get food? Or if you want something, just tell me and I’ll go get it for you.”
Xu Zhouwei snapped out of it, gave a small smile, and stood up. “No need, I’ll get it myself.”
Although Xu Zhouwei sometimes spoke in a sarcastic tone, but after all, they were all in the same production and met and interacted every day, so it wasn’t really appropriate for anyone to hold any grudges.
“Xiao Chi, what delicious food are you getting?” Chen Li moved over to the other side of Wen Chi.
Wen Chi turned his head and glanced at him, then said, “Just got some vegetarian dishes.”
Then, Chen Li and the others saw Jiang Siheng holding a small transparent bowl, and Wen Chi picking up food and placing it into the bowl.
Someone muttered quietly, “Wow, aren’t these two really dating?”
Everyone got the food they liked. The fried skewers and barbecue would take a little while, so they went back to sit down first.
This might be their last time eating with Wen Chi, and once everyone finishes filming, no one knows if they’ll have the chance to gather again.
…
Being able to meet a celebrity in daily life, most people would post it online to show off.
Even though it’s quite late, there are still quite a few netizens active online.
【@ChenPiAhChenPi: I went out for a late-night snack and ran into Jiang Siheng, Wen Chi, and Chen Li, Xu Zhouwei, and so many other celebrities!! They probably just finished filming and came out, ahhh, they’re all so handsome!!! [Picture][Picture][Picture]】
Location: Huaixin City XX Film Studio
Chen Pi Ah Chen Pi was the first to recognize Wen Chi and the others. Her Weibo account didn’t have many followers, and the followers she did have were mostly mutual friends. She would usually tag her friends when she saw something fun.
After Chen Pi Ah Chen Pi posted on Weibo, she exited the app to chat with her friends, but not long after, her college roommate, whom she hadn’t contacted in a long time, suddenly private-messaged her.
【Roommate: Holy crap! You’re trending!!】
【Chen: Huh?】
【Roommate: [Sharing Weibo post] This one, you’re trending!!】
Chen Pi Ah Chen Pi, feeling flustered, opened Weibo and was startled by the 99+ likes, private messages, and shares. She then opened the trending search, but after scanning, she didn’t find her Weibo username on the page. Just as she was about to relax, she focused and noticed her name at number six on the trending list.
#WenChiandJiangSihengPartnerAgain#, and trending at number fifteen #HengWenGirlsDon’tSleep#.
Since her roommate said she was trending, Chen Pi Ah Chen Pi thought one of the trending topics must be related to her.
So she clicked on #WenChiandJiangSihengPartnerAgain#, and sure enough, the first related post on the homepage was the one she had posted not long ago.
【Ahhh!!! Holy crap!!!】
【Family, it’s the New Year!】
【Who understands, I just finished rewatching Heart’s Confession 2 today, eating expired candy, and who would’ve thought there’s new candy now!】
【Those who said Chichi and Teacher Jiang could never get in touch, come out and speak up!】
【Looking at the photo, the younger brother and Teacher Jiang should be chatting, they’re sitting really close.】
【Wuwuwuwu, this couple is secretly filming together.】
【Holy crap, these two’s teams kept it so tight, there wasn’t even a whisper about it.】
【Looking forward to Xiao Chi’s new drama, looking forward to Teacher Jiang’s new drama [heart].】
…
Wen Chi found out about this when it was already close to noon. He remembered when he first joined the production, Director Xu told him to keep his filming a secret, and thought to himself, this isn’t good.
He didn’t even have time to freshen up and grabbed his phone to explain the reason and apologize to Director Xu.
To his surprise, when he saw Director Xu reply asking which trending topic, Wen Chi was stunned for a moment. He had just seen that trending topic and knew it couldn’t have been removed in a second, so he directly shared it with Director Xu.
Maybe Director Xu was looking, or maybe he got busy again, and replied after quite a while: 【Oh, you mean this? It’s fine.】
【Director Xu: I thought it was something serious, but it’s really nothing.】
【Director Xu: This is a perfect opportunity to hype up our drama.】
Wen Chi scratched his head.
【Wen Chi: Didn’t you tell me to keep my joining the production a secret?】
【Director Xu: I didn’t say that?】
【Wen Chi: When I first joined the production, you…?】
【Director Xu: [Covering mouth and smiling] I told you to keep it a secret from Jiang Siheng.】
Wen Chi: …Ah.
So, he misunderstood.
