After that, YouTubers continued to visit our clinic for several days. Among them, the most persistent one was Minjun TV.

Minjun TV’s channel concept was to personally visit controversial or newsworthy places and people to interview them. When he was kicked out during the interview process or when the interviewer, (presumably) Minjun, was assaulted, the video’s view count would skyrocket.

Conversely, videos where the other party calmly agreed to the interview or appeared to be a decent person despite the controversy had low view counts.

It was ironic that the more violent scenes there were, the higher the view count, even if people were susceptible to primal stimuli. YouTube was supposed to be a product of civilization, yet humanity’s level of thinking had regressed to a state even before technological advancement.

In any case, since view counts translated to money, I could understand why Minjun TV was hanging around our clinic. The scene he wanted was probably me running out with a broom and beating him up.

He had a scene he wanted, but since I was just sitting quietly inside the clinic, he was probably getting frustrated too. It wouldn’t be strange if he approached me in a different way at any moment. People with a purpose will do anything to achieve their goals.

I wasn’t worried about myself, but I was worried about Nam Jungyoon and Ms. Kim Miyoung. It was fine while they were at work since Minjun TV couldn’t enter the clinic, but I couldn’t guarantee their safety during their commute.

In a situation like this, it was safer to have the two of them commute together. It was safer to be in pairs than alone. In particular, Ms. Kim Miyoung, being a middle-aged woman, would have a hard time confronting Minjun TV.

“I think it’d be best for you to stick with Pureum for a while too, Director.”

“Or just go home with us, sunbae.”

“I don’t think I can because of the evening appointments. The clinic is so busy these days, I can’t skip the evening appointments.”

Recently, having gathered enough evidence, I reported all the YouTubers, including Minjun TV, to the police. A few of them were brought to justice, and I had no intention of settling.

However, Minjun TV, perhaps having gone through this many times, was soon a free man again. In fact, after being sued once, he seemed to be watching our clinic with an even more intense glint in his eyes.

I was already busy enough to die, so having such a persistent guy sticking around was a real headache. I wanted to interview him back and ask why he was clinging to us like this when he had nothing to gain.

“I thought things would quiet down as the drama’s hype died, but that person just won’t give up.”

“In a way, his perseverance is amazing.”

“That’s probably why he runs a YouTube channel like that.”

“If he’d put that perseverance into something else, he would have succeeded no matter what he did.”

“Just leave him be. He probably just wants attention, even if it’s like this.”

How could one understand the complex hearts of modern people?

Humans are truly complex creatures. Honestly, even I didn’t really understand why Minjun TV lived like that. However, some people must be hungry for attention, even if it’s in that way.

It would be different if he were a million-subscriber YouTuber like Ms. Kim Mina, but Minjun TV had few subscribers. The revenue he earned from views probably wasn’t much either. Channels like his wouldn’t get many advertisements.

Still, there must have been a reason he was burning himself out to run his YouTube channel like that, right?

Thinking about it that way, he even seemed pitiful. He could have received attention in a better way, yet he chose to live in a manner that also harmed himself.

“Sunbae, you’re not sympathizing with people like that, are you?”

“I do think it’s a bit pitiful to want others’ attention that badly.”

“I saw a video on his channel, he had someone buy a ton of our clinic’s Gongjindan. He uploaded it with a title like ‘Alpha Unboxing?’”

“Is he obsessed with our clinic because he actually wants to become an Alpha?”

“No way. He’s just doing it for the clickbait.”

In any case, Minjun TV was causing significant damage to our clinic. The other YouTubers at least paid their fines and backed off, but this guy seemed to have decided to stick around for as long as he’d paid in fines.

Although he was attached to the business and not an individual, he was clearly a stalker, but it wasn’t easy to punish him. The laws in our country were just too lenient.

    “Oh, there’s Pureum now.”

Jung Pureum had been visiting the clinic an hour or two early in recent days. I knew his class schedule from before, so I knew he should never be able to come at this time.

Perhaps because it was a physical education university focused on practical skills, Jung Pureum seemed to be coolly ignoring his set schedule. Well, he was already on the national team, so he probably had nothing to fear.

I nagged him a few times, wondering if he was neglecting his training, but he said he had adjusted his schedule to train in the early morning. It seemed he had told his coach he wanted to practice on his own as an excuse.

If he were training insincerely, that coach wouldn’t have left him alone, so I believed him when he said he was working hard.

Even after his pheromone instability issue was resolved, the coach periodically nagged Jung Pureum. According to stories that Jung Saebom or the lady next door sometimes let slip, he had become even more sensitive after Jung Pureum made the national team.

Well, since the athlete he was in charge of had made the national team, he would want to manage him with strict discipline. If he was lucky, he could become the coach of a gold medalist.

However, no matter how I tried to think of it positively, I did not like that coach. I knew that my dislike for him couldn’t change anything, but I felt that way regardless.

‘I’ve heard about the university’s swimming coach a few times myself.’

‘You really have a wide network…’

‘This much is pretty normal. Well, that coach is also notorious.’

Lee Seolwoo, who attended the same university as Jung Pureum, told me various things about that coach. It was obvious that if I pestered Jung Pureum about it, he would just say everything was fine, so I didn’t ask many times.

Lee Seolwoo was surprisingly knowledgeable. I had just asked on the off-chance, but he seemed to know about every incident at the school.

From what I heard, he had been the school’s representative model for three years straight since his admission. Perhaps because his face was as handsome as an idol’s, Lee Seolwoo knew many people, regardless of their department or college.

He laughed, saying he had a lot of acquaintances in the physical education department too, and I, who had been an outcast throughout my university life, got a little creeped out. This guy is the real deal, a true extrovert…

I hadn’t seen the coach in person, but from what I heard, the coach was said to be reckless with his words. He was strict about the athletes’ records and management but couldn’t control his own mouth.

I was even more stunned to hear that he had been warned for verbal abuse. I couldn’t believe a guy like that had been teaching Jung Pureum for years. What on earth could he learn from a bastard like that…?

    “Huh? What’s he doing?”

At that moment, Nam Jungyoon’s startled voice broke my train of thought. I quickly lifted my head and looked outside the clinic door. The clinic entrance was a glass door, so I could see the outside clearly through the transparent pane.

Through the window, I saw Minjun TV lunging at Jung Pureum. I was so shocked that I shot up from my seat. What’s more, Minjun TV wasn’t even empty-handed.

“What is that bastard holding in his hand right now?”

    “Quick, call the police.”

“Director, sit back down. You can’t go out there now.”

I couldn’t obediently follow Ms. Kim Miyoung’s words to sit back down. I couldn’t see it clearly, but Minjun TV was swinging something he was holding in his hand at Jung Pureum.

Thanks to his excellent dynamic visual acuity and agility, Jung Pureum was dodging well without getting hit once, but it was dangerous all the same. If that wasn’t just a blunt weapon but a knife, it would be really dangerous.

Besides, Jung Pureum was a national athlete now. He was someone who had to enter the training camp soon! Did it make any sense for a body that would bring glory to the nation to be harmed by an attention-seeking YouTuber? It’s not like that bastard would serve in the military in Jung Pureum’s place!

While Ms. Kim Miyoung held me back, Nam Jungyoon quickly reported the situation to the police.

It seemed that Minjun TV held a personal grudge against Jung Pureum, who had told him, “You shouldn’t be doing this here,” as he came and went, rather than against the clinic staff who had consistently ignored him.

In truth, it was ridiculous to even call it a ‘grudge.’ In the end, he was just attacking him because he didn’t like him. The expression ‘not in his right mind’ was more appropriate.

Thanks to the previous YouTube lawsuit, the police arrived faster than expected. However, before the police arrived, Jung Pureum had already subdued Minjun TV.

    “Pureum!”

As soon as the police arrived, I left Ms. Kim Miyoung and ran to Jung Pureum. Jung Pureum, who was pressing Minjun TV to the ground after subduing him, lifted his head and saw me.

    “Hyung, are you okay?”

“I’m fine. You’re the one that crazy bastard attacked. Are you hurt anywhere? You really can’t get hurt.”

“Damn it. No wonder you came here every day… You bastard, you’re not a patient, you’re related to the clinic, aren’t you?”

    “…”

“I— I know everything. I looked you up! You’re him, aren’t you? That Mr. J who went from Beta to Alpha?”

“…Let’s just hand this bastard over to the police quickly.”

    “Just a moment.”

Jung Pureum, pretending to restrain the man, quickly struck him once in the solar plexus. I don’t know how strong he was, but Minjun TV, who had been babbling just moments before, fell silent in an instant.

“I wanted to avoid violence if possible…”

A rubber mallet was rolling at Minjun TV’s feet. It seemed that was what he had been holding and threatening him with earlier. It was less threatening than a steel hammer, but this was still clearly attempted murder.

The police collected both Minjun TV and the rubber mallet. In response to my assertion that this was a clear case of attempted murder and that I wanted strict punishment, an older police officer opened his mouth with a troubled voice.

“That man over there subdued him a bit excessively, so I think this will likely end with an assault charge.”

    “What?”

“The scope for recognizing self-defense is quite narrow. And from what I see, the victim wasn’t seriously injured…”

    “…”

“And, isn’t that man an Alpha? A Beta attacked an Alpha, so it’s not really attempted murder.”

What kind of crazy talk was this?

I felt the anger building up in my body, layer by layer, turning into a raging fire.

Was the sound I heard of the people’s staff breaking just a hallucination? That bastard was trying to kill me with a rage-induced illness, and this wasn’t attempted murder! The world was so absurd.
