If you compare the power dynamic between an alpha and an omega, it was one-sided violence. Above all, the harm from pheromones was hard to measure, so the act was worse.

Most of the alphas I had met so far acted like that. They jumped straight to pheromone appeal, and when that didn’t work, they picked fights.

Among them, Baek Yeongseop had been the worst, and now Lee Jaegwang matched him.

    “Let go of me!”

I shrugged off Lee Jaegwang’s hand and stepped back from the sudden situation. As before, I didn’t react to any alpha except Baek Mugyeong. I only smelled the scent. But Lee Jaegwang’s pheromones were so strong that my head hurt.

    “How are you fine?”

“Your pheromones must be fucking awful. Ugh,”

I cursed because I was too angry. After the headache came nausea and then retching. If I messed up, I felt like I would actually vomit.

“This is the first time I’ve seen this? Where are you going?”

I wanted to hit Lee Jaegwang, but I didn’t have the time. I turned my back and ran for the bathroom.

I grabbed the sink and retched for a long time. Fortunately I had skipped lunch, and the breakfast I ate had digested, so I didn’t throw up. But the headache and nausea didn’t subside. I felt cramps in my stomach.

“Maybe you’re pregnant? No? You’re about to hit heat right now. I know that well.”

Lee Jaegwang followed and said that nonsense that made people’s insides burn. What was wrong with alphas?

After I rinsed my mouth and turned away, Lee Jaegwang grabbed my wrist again.

“Let’s see how long you can hold out?”

His eyes gleamed. The same pheromones from before hit me in a wave.

I fought the urge to vomit and held on. And I kicked his shin with all my strength.

    “Argh!”

Lee Jaegwang screamed. He bent forward, and I pushed him before he could crouch properly.

Lee Jaegwang fell and landed on his butt in a messy way. A few other people were in the bathroom besides us. They opened their eyes wide and looked at him.

“Your lower body is weak. You pathetic asshole.”

I wanted to beat his face, but I couldn’t make a bruise where everyone could see it. I still had the title of the Daesong Group family’s in-law. I had to avoid making trouble if possible.

I looked down at the stunned Lee Jaegwang with contempt. I knew this hit him more than a beating would. He had been mocked for being so weak that even my small hand could beat him, so his pride must have taken a huge hit.

I ignored the nausea and walked past Lee Jaegwang to leave the bathroom. As soon as I stepped into the corridor, he grabbed me for the third time. This time he seized my forearm, not my wrist. The force made my body turn around.

The smiling, Lee Jaegwang from a moment ago was gone. A twisted smile appeared on his face.

    “You asshole.”

“Why? You want to hit me?”

“You think I can’t do it?”

    “Yeah.”

I provoked him on purpose. It was the same pattern as when I once beat Lee Jeonguk. Usually these guys let it slide even when they know.

If he hit me once, I would hit him twice back. People moved through the corridor, and there would be CCTV, so I could prove he hit first.

If I ended up with a bruise or a wound on my face, I could use that to excuse that Baek Mugyeong didn’t want to see me.

I knew how ridiculous that thought was. I knew the fever made me thought of all kinds of things. But having that excuse to tell my biological father sounded good.

“You asshole, you really need to get hit to come to your senses…”

Lee Jaegwang lifted the hand that had held me and couldn’t finish his sentence. A hand appeared at my side and grabbed his forearm.

I could only see his arm, but I recognized who it was in an instant. I turned my head with a “no way”.

    Baek Mugyeong was there.

I hadn’t exchanged a single message with Baek Mugyeong in the past week. I lied to my biological father that I would meet Baek Mugyeong at a hotel on the weekend and then booked a separate room.

I didn’t even know whether Baek Mugyeong would come to the charity bazaar today. Before the regression, I thought he probably would skip it. So I told Im Songyoon that I had fought with Baek Mugyeong. I also planted the idea with my father that Baek Mugyeong might not be able to come because of work.

But Baek Mugyeong showed up. The timing was so perfect I almost thought he had been watching from the side.

What is this act right now?

    “Let go of me!”

Lee Jaegwang shook his arm, but Baek Mugyeong didn’t budge. Almost at the same moment a dangerous scent came off Baek Mugyeong. It was a pheromone that crushed the other person.

It wasn’t as strong as last time. It was very faint and it only caused slight discomfort. No, to be exact, it aimed at one person only. Lee Jaegwang’s face went pale in an instant. Lee Jaegwang seemed to try to release his own pheromone, but it lasted only a moment.

With his wrist still held, Lee Jaegwang stepped back, stunned, and only then did Baek Mugyeong let go without hesitation.

I thought that would end it. Before I could breathe out in relief, Baek Mugyeong suddenly punched Lee Jaegwang in the face.

There was a loud crack sound and Lee Jaegwang staggered to the side. People who had been watching started to murmur.

    “Get lost.”

    Baek Mugyeong said coldly.

“You, you…… do you think I will stand still?”

“Consider yourself lucky this ends with this.”

    “Shit……. we’ll see.”

Lee Jaegwang, sounding like a defeated villain, turned and walked quickly away. Only after he vanished at the end of the corridor did Baek Mugyeong speak to me.

“What did he do to you?”

“He used pheromones, an alpha blow. …You can still smell it now, are you okay?”

“Did you forget I told you to stay away from Lee Jaegwang? Do you know you almost got hit just now?”

“He followed me. I dodged him but……. it would be fine if I got hit. I could hit back then. It would be mutual.”

Baek Mugyeong’s voice was low and I could tell he was angry. His face was stern. I hadn’t spent long with him, but I already knew his habit.

When Baek Mugyeong got angry he didn’t raise his voice. He held back, ran a hand through his hair, and took a breath. Or he questioned things in a very low voice like now.

Honestly, he didn’t scare me that much. I even thought his frown made him look handsome. Maybe because I felt no danger, weird thoughts that didn’t suit the moment popped up in my head.

But why is he really here? He didn’t even bring a change of clothes, where did he buy that suit?

I realized late that this wasn’t a normal reaction. It was probably because of the fever. I was about to hit heat. I needed to leave Baek Mugyeong quickly.

“Are you a fighter? You don’t know fear of people…Jeong Minchae?”

Baek Mugyeong stopped scolding and called my name. I blinked and looked at him. For some reason Baek Mugyeong leaned to the side.

    Am I going to fall?

At that thought Baek Mugyeong grabbed my arm and held me. Fortunately I didn’t fall but my legs gave out and I collapsed to the floor.

I tried to jump up in alarm but my body wouldn’t move. I felt a headache, dizziness, nausea, and weakness all at once.

“Jeong Minchae. Are you okay right now?”

“Ah……. It is heat. I have a fever because my heat came. Could you call Jaeha for me? I feel dizzy so I can’t get my phone out.”

Baek Mugyeong put strength into his hold and helped me stand on both feet. My body felt wrecked. I felt dizzy rven with my eyes closed. It felt worse than at the first heat.

Alpha men always swarm around omega pheromones. So far my heat cycles had been regular and medicine had worked so troublesome things didn’t happen. Except today.

Before this gets worse I had to go home or rent a hotel room. I had to ask Choi Jaeha, who was also an omega.

    “Are you in heat?”

    “Yes. I am sorry.”

I was holding almost entirely on Baek Mugyeong’s arm. I couldn’t help it and the situation was messy.

We had broken up badly. The only person I could ask for help right now was Baek Mugyeong.

I still liked Baek Mugyeong. Even after he said so many hateful things I didn’t hate him.

I had told myself many times that divorce was best. Holding onto someone who had turned away felt too pathetic. At least I didn’t want to act foolish in front of Baek Mugyeong.

But this happened. I wish I could turn into smoke and disappear.

    “Did you take medicine?”

“Yes. I took it a little while ago, but it will take time for the medicine to work.”

    “That can’t be.”

    “Hm?”

Baek Mugyeong clicked his tongue and didn’t answer my question. Instead he put his arm around my waist and supported me.

    “Can you walk?”
