by MochiThe Obsessive Young Master and His Little Attendant (Part 6)
“Oh, is that so?”
That warm breath brushed across Ning Shu’s cheek. He stared wide-eyed at the face before him, a face no further than two fingers’ width from his own.
This was… far too close.
He felt his face grow hot, speaking with a trace of fluster, “Young Master…”
The boy’s features were almost excessively handsome, even those phoenix eyes carrying a faintly bewitching allure. His lashes lowered, the corners of his eyes holding a faint, teasing hint of amusement, as a jade-pale hand reached toward him.
Ning Shu’s chin was caught between the boy’s fingers.
Gu Chen lowered his head.
For one breathless moment, Ning Shu nearly convinced himself that Gu Chen was about to kiss him. His fair skin flushed so deeply it looked as though blood might surface through it.
He froze, his round eyes widening in bewilderment.
But instead, the boy brought his lips close to his ear. His fingers climbed slowly upward, unhurried, and pinched his earlobe with deliberate ease. A low, magnetic voice murmured beside him, “What’s the matter? Did you think I was going to kiss you?”
There was a hint of laughter in his tone, though its meaning was impossible to read.
Ning Shu sat rigid, eyes cast downward.
Gu Chen straightened as if nothing had happened. “Relax, my sexual orientation is normal.”
His gaze then drifted to the youth’s face. Ning Shu was fair-skinned by nature, and the slightest flush of red touching his complexion stood out vividly, like a crimson bead set against jade. One glance was enough to trap a person’s gaze.
Something shifted in Gu Chen’s expression, his gaze darkening almost imperceptibly.
The fingertips that had just touched Ning Shu’s skin rubbed together in a motion too faint to notice.
The skin had been smooth and delicate, like cool silk.
He curled the corner of his mouth, returned to his seat, and lowered his head to play with his phone.
Ning Shu, meanwhile, let out a quiet breath of relief.
He knew that the more perfect and outstanding someone appeared, the more likely they harbored a side no one else was permitted to see, and that side could very well be… something twisted.
Gu Chen, it seemed, possessed both.
A chill prickled at Ning Shu’s scalp. Feeling helpless, he whispered, “Ling Ling, have you guided other hosts before?”
Ling Ling replied with a touch of guilt in its voice, “…I just started this job. Ahem. But I know everything there is to know, so ask me anything!”
It declared this with full confidence.
Ning Shu asked, “Then do you know how someone raises the affection value with a person like Gu Chen?”
Ling Ling strained to recall. “Usually with this kind of… pervert, the more obedient you are, the more they’ll like you.”
Ning Shu felt that he had already been quite obedient.
Still, he nodded. Since Ling Ling spoke with such certainty, it must be right.
The school Gu Chen attended was First High.
It was, by any measure, an elite institution. The facilities and environment were of the highest quality. Even someone like Ning Shu, who had not lived poorly in his previous life, had to admit that by any measure, the school stood at the very top.
Young Master Gu’s status and identity were something the entire student body looked up to. Even the teachers treated him with an extra degree of courtesy.
“Place him in Class 1.” The aristocratic boy gave the order.
Ning Shu went with the teacher to complete the enrollment paperwork and then followed them into the classroom.
He stood on the platform and gave a brief introduction. “My name is Ning Shu.”
His voice had an undefinable softness to it, paired with his delicate features and those wide, rounded eyes; it painted a picture that was gentle and understated.
A handful of the girls in the room brightened visibly.
“He looks so adorable.”
“He gives off such a soft, gentle vibe, and he looks so well-behaved. His skin is unbelievably good. How can it be even better than ours?”
“He’s alright, I suppose. But he doesn’t compare to our Young Master Gu.”
When Ning Shu finished speaking, he stood where he was and swept his gaze across the classroom.
Gu Chen was seated in the middle of the room. Those phoenix eyes were already looking back at him, and the boy’s thin lips curved in a faint smile.
