How could he ever let go of someone like this? Because Lebel was this lovely, that was why he felt anxious. Anyone could desire him and try to take him away.

The Foolish Prince who had lived trapped in the palace was now learning about the world through him, and that was fine, but now others also saw him.

He had seen many people who stopped in their tracks whenever Lebel passed by, unable to take their eyes off his beauty.

Now that same man displayed his ability and shone brilliantly. Who could possibly not want him?

There would be no alpha who could resist desiring someone whose pheromones even smelled fragrant.

Every time, Yutis wanted to lock him inside the castle. Even if one day Lebel changed his mind and left, Yutis would never be able to let him go.

A thought he shouldn’t have was starting to grow.

He wanted to fill those red eyes only with himself.

    “May I kiss you?”

    Yutis spoke on impulse.

Lebel saw the redness in Yutis’s eyes and smiled.

“So it wasn’t the pheromones. You were hungry for me.”

“…Yes. I was hungry. Because you weren’t focused on me.”

Lebel reached out and pulled lightly on Yutis’s neck.

    “You can.”

Yutis nervously swallowed and he extended his hand carefully. His hand brushed along Lebel’s cheek, and soon their lips met.

Neither of them looked away. While exchanging hot breaths and gazes, they slowly kissed.

Lebel felt a sense of satisfaction from Yutis’s hot lips pressing on his own and the way Yutis looked at him.

It wasn’t a deep kiss, but the time they shared warmth was long. Yutis slowly pulled his lips away.

It wasn’t the clumsy kiss of the rut when he had only devoured without sense. It was a complete kiss, one that had his partner’s consent.

Yutis’s chest swelled as if it would explode. Unable to bear the overflowing feeling, he lowered his head and buried his nose in Lebel’s neck. He took a deep breath saturated with Lebel’s pheromones.

He couldn’t hold his scent, so Yutis tightly hugged Lebel.

But Lebel let out a short sigh as if something had crossed his mind.

    “Hm.”

Seeing that, Yutis watched Lebel like a child gauging an adult’s mood.

    “Was it not good?”

“That’s not it. It’s just different from before.”

Lebel looked up at Yutis and spoke.

“Didn’t you part my lips and put your tongue in last time? You can do it like that again.”

    “……!”

Yutis roughly grabbed Lebel’s chin and pressed their lips together as he opened his lips to reveal his red insides.

The hand that had been holding his chin now cupped his head, deepening the kiss. And, as Lebel had wished, he thrust his tongue between his lips.

His tongue slipped through his lips as if it had been waiting, and like a fish in water, it swam, scraping the roof of Lebel’s mouth and catching his tongue’s root.

    “Uh.”

A short, moan-like groan echoed from Lebel’s throat. Lebel’s hands crumpled Yutis’s collar, and Yutis’s tongue freely latched on to Lebels, entangling it. Their lips met in a sticky, tangled grip.

Lebel’s head felt dizzy from the sudden rush of kisses, and it felt like Yutis’s hot body temperature was transferring to him, making him feel feverish.

    “Ha, you…”

“Ha… just a little more, just a little more.”

    “……”

Yutis saw Lebel’s face flushed red from lack of breath and his dazed eyes, and he couldn’t hold back any longer. He pressed their lips together again and mixed their tongues even deeper, releasing all the desire he had held in.

When Lebel awkwardly, started to respond little by little, Yutis embraced him even tighter, and the wet sound of saliva continued echoing.

And beneath the two of them, who were sharing a passionate kiss, there was Karon, frozen like a stone statue.

    ***

Lebel tilted his head as he looked at Karon slumped in the corner of the bed. He had been strange lately.

The Karon who once refused to be apart from him for even a moment had now remained weakly in the corner dozens of times, and even when Yutis appeared, he didn’t bare his teeth.

“Karon, what are you doing there?”

    [Lord Lebel, Lord Lebel….]

Lebel knew very well why Karon’s attitude had changed.

They had kissed right in front of him. But could that really have been such a shock? Hadn’t he and the Demon God even seen him doing those acts? Compared to that, a kiss was nothing.

    “Wife, may I come in?”

When he heard Yutis’s voice, Karon, who had been slumped in the corner of the bed, immediately rushed over and stood beside Lebel to guard him.

He didn’t bare his teeth, but his gaze was fierce.

    “Come in.”

Yutis walked over and came to Lebel’s side and took his hand. After that incident, the distance between them had grown smaller.

[That, that’s on purpose for me to see…!]

    You’ve gone too far.

“Will you come with me to the main castle for a while?”

“The main castle? Did Father and Father-in-law call for me?”

“Yes. I think we should take Karon too.”

Lebel looked at Karon. Karon tilted his head as if confused when he heard his name.

When they arrived at the main castle, the two men welcomed them as if they had been waiting.

“I worried that I might be disturbing you for no reason.”

“If you knew that, you shouldn’t have called us.”

Edmund laughed at Yutis’s words, but Damian squinted as if his eyes were stinging.

“Hmm, daughter-in-law. That beast is Karon?”

    “Yes. That’s right.”

    “Is he dangerous?”

“I ordered him not to harm humans.”

“He’s known for being fierce, but it’s fortunate that he seems to obey you.”

When Edmund reached out his hand, Karon bared his teeth and growled.

    “Karon.”

    “…Hnng.”

When Lebel called his name, Karon’s energy faded, but he still glared fiercely at Edmund.

He already didn’t like the human named Yutis, so of course he wouldn’t like Edmund, who resembled him.

“It’s a good thing for a beast to bare its teeth to protect its master.”

“You don’t think that beast might attack people?”

“Anyone can see that he’ll listen to the daughter-in-law’s words exactly as told.”

    “…It does look that way.”

When Damian saw Karon acting affectionate toward Lebel, he reluctantly agreed.

“It’s fine. From what I’ve seen, he doesn’t bare his teeth at people.”

After Yutis’s explanation, Damian sighed in relief.

“What exactly is this about? You asked us to come, so it can’t be just to see Karon. Did something happen?”

“Yes, something did. And it’s not a good thing.”

“Usually, there’s one good news and one bad news.”

“If there isn’t, how could I say there is?”

    “Does it concern me?”

    Lebel asked.

Since he had been called here, it naturally had something to do with him. His guess was correct.

    “…The rumor spread quite quickly.”

    Yutis’s gaze sank.

Yutis’s eyes lit up with a fierce glare at the remark that seemed to be related to Lebel. Edmund sighed at the sight and said.

“There are people who want to meet daughter-in-law.”

    “Me?”

Who could it be? Haven’t all the people who wanted to see him already done so?

    “…You mean the retainers?”

    “Yes.”

    Damian answered Yutis’s question.

    Ah, right. There were retainers.

Since he was to become the mistress of the Hestro family that ruled the North, it was natural for them to be curious. They would want to see whether this unknown person would be a benefit or a threat to the North.

It was a reasonable attitude for them.

    “But they…”

“Not all of them were against the daughter-in-law.”

From Yutis’s uncomfortable expression, there seemed to be many who disliked him.

The retainers had agreed to accept a prince as a bride, so that was why he could come here, but welcoming him was another matter entirely.

They would show hostility even more openly than the servants, not friendliness.

“It’s not like you can avoid them for life.”

“But why do the retainers want to see me? What kind of rumor is it?”

At Lebel’s question, everyone looked at him. Edmond spoke quietly.

“They heard that the so-called Foolish Prince gained the ability to speak, and they were astonished that you survived even after spending the rut with Yutis. They want to see the mysterious one for themselves.”

    “I see.”

Lebel didn’t understand what was so strange or impressive about that, but thinking of the reactions he had seen so far, he decided it made sense.

If news spread that he had not only spent the rut with Yutis, whom everyone else had run from, but also survived, then of course people would take interest.
