    Chapter Index

In the end, Jiang Heng and Shen Fubai still didn’t get to eat, because there was no Wallace’s in Beverly Hills. They had an exorbitantly expensive sandwich at an Italian restaurant, where two thin slices of bread could sell for $8, and with every bite, it felt like they could hear the sound of money being spent.

Some simple bacon and juice tasted no different than outside, but just because it was in Beverly Hills, it could be marked up to an astronomical price.

Shen Fubai said, “I feel like I need to get a set of gold teeth to deserve eating this meal.”

Before Jiang Heng could speak, a woman wearing sunglasses and a fuchsia dress at the next table giggled.

“It doesn’t matter. The nine-carat diamond on your hand is enough to match the sandwich in your hand.” The blonde woman smiled at them.

Both Shen Fubai and Jiang Heng looked over at her. There was no doubt about the woman’s Caucasian skin, her eyes were covered by sunglasses, revealing a delicate chin and fiery red lips. Her strapless fuchsia dress hugged her figure tightly, showing that she was a stunningly beautiful woman.

Beverly Hills was indeed filled with beauties. Shen Fubai secretly guessed which celebrity she might be.

Seeing them look over, the woman said “Hi,” then picked up her car keys and got up to walk over.

    Shen Fubai politely asked, “Hello.”

The woman spoke in perfect London accent, “Two handsome men from the East, are you going to play at Universal Studios?”

This obvious British accent definitely wasn’t American. But this was normal; Beverly Hills was home to rich people and celebrities from all over the world.

    Shen Fubai replied, “Yes.”

“Wonderful,” the woman said, “Just so happens that I’m also headed that way. Do you think I have the honor of inviting two handsome men to ride with me?”

An invitation from a stranger, Shen Fubai didn’t easily agree, moreover, across from him sat a jealous man.

    Jiang Heng spoke out, “Why?”

With so many people here, why did she specifically invite them two for a ride?

The woman smirked, “Because looking around the entire restaurant, you two are the most handsome. Especially you, little handsome man, you’re really beautiful.” She stared straight at Shen Fubai.

Shen Fubai shook his head, “No, we can take our own car.”

The woman was disappointed, “Really not? That’s too bad.”

She leaned on the table, her long, good-looking hands painted with red nail polish. But that wasn’t the point; the keychain on her finger was the focus.

Shen Fubai took a glance. A Lykan hypercar, globally limited to seven units, priced at $3.4 million, equivalent to 20 million RMB.

Shen Fubai instantly changed his tune, “Okay, no problem, I believe we’ll have a pleasant ride with you.”

That was a globally limited supercar, who wouldn’t want to sit in it?! No man could resist such a temptation, perhaps some could, but definitely not Shen Fubai.

Jiang Heng bit into his bread fiercely.

He hated that he didn’t have a globally limited Lykan hypercar.

It didn’t matter, his brother had one.

At worst, he’d ask Jiang Yuan to borrow it when he went back, taking Fubai for a drive every day. Jiang Heng silently thought, chewing on his pricey sandwich.

Shen Fubai and Jiang Heng got into the woman’s globally limited red Lykan hypercar, and Shen Fubai was even invited to sit in the passenger seat. The car was a convertible, and since it wasn’t raining, they were delighted.

The woman stepped on the gas pedal and gripped the steering wheel, her blonde hair dancing wildly in the wind. She hummed an English song, singing very well, reaching the level of a professional singer.

Shen Fubai asked her, “Are you a singer?”

    “Guess,” the woman smiled.

Shen Fubai spoke frankly, “Can’t guess, I’m not very familiar with the entertainment industry abroad.” He found the woman’s voice somewhat familiar, but he himself wasn’t sensitive to music, and foreign voices sounded similar to him, plus the effect of the wind, after pondering for a while, he couldn’t recall anything.

The woman joked, “Looks like my fame isn’t big enough then.”

Shen Fubai said, “You must be very popular in your country.”

“That’s not necessarily true!” The woman sang loudly.

This feeling wasn’t bad. Sitting in a globally limited supercar, blowing in the Los Angeles breeze, listening to a professional singer whose identity was unknown, belting out a song in the wind. Passionate, free, joyful atmosphere.

When the woman finished her song, Shen Fubai sincerely complimented, “Sang very well.”

“Is that so?!” The woman cheered, her golden hair slapped onto her face by the wind.

Shen Fubai was extremely alarmed, “Promise me, don’t let your hands leave the steering wheel!”

“Okay, sorry, the praise from a handsome man made me swell with pride.” The woman obediently put her hands back on the steering wheel, “Are you Chinese?”

Shen Fubai was deeply moved. She actually didn’t first think of him as Japanese or Korean.

“Yes, how did you know?” Shen Fubai asked.

“Based on my experience, the Japanese and Koreans I’ve picked up before weren’t like you.”

“…” How many people did she pick up?

“Do you always invite strangers into your car?” Jiang Heng suddenly spoke from the backseat.

The woman replied, “I’m not at all random! My prerequisite for inviting someone into my car is that they’re good-looking, then spend a wonderful night at the hotel.”

Jiang Heng calmly said, “My partner in the passenger seat and I are a couple, don’t even think about playing a threesome with us.”

The woman slammed on the brakes hard.

Shen Fubai almost hit his head, fortunately, he was wearing a seatbelt, he added, “And don’t think about murder either.”

The woman laughed, “What are you thinking? We’ve arrived.”

Happy times are always short-lived. Universal Studios Hollywood was quickly reached, the woman unbuckled her seatbelt, “We have to say goodbye, handsome men, you gave me a pleasant morning. Also, wish you happiness!”

“Thank you for giving us a ride.” Shen Fubai expressed gratitude for the hitchhiking incident.

“No need, handsome men are naturally entitled to preferential treatment.” The woman waved at them.

There was no doubt she was a face-con.

After Jiang Heng and Shen Fubai walked away, the woman removed her sunglasses. In the rearview mirror reflected a coldly beautiful face, blonde hair, blue eyes, high nose, deep-set eyes.

…But the eyeshadow was extremely exaggerated, multicolored. If it weren’t for her good looks that could sustain such a Mary Sue glow, she would look like the emo style that was popular in China over a decade ago.

Everyone in the world should know her, the globally renowned pop diva, Antonia Hobson. This was a real international superstar.

She was famous for her exceptional singing skills, fiery figure, outgoing personality, endless scandals, and a different extravagant eyeshadow every day of the year.

On anyone else, that would be called crazy. But she was famous, so it was called having character.

Antonia leaned against the back of the seat, applying makeup in front of the rearview mirror. Then her phone rang, she answered on speakerphone while brushing on eyeshadow, “Hello”

A male voice came from the phone, “Antonia, have you arrived?”

“Hold on, I’m in the car, let me touch up my makeup.” Antonia was selecting lipstick colors.

“The advice is to stop doing that, because an hour later you’ll feel that your lipstick doesn’t match your eyeshadow, or that your blush and contouring aren’t pretty. Then you’ll wipe off your ghastly makeup again and switch to something even more ghastly.” The man on the other end of the phone said.

“You really understand me, dear Chapman.” Antonia’s older sister-like voice suddenly dropped, “But you’re not allowed to say that my eye makeup is ghastly.”

Chapman wisely sidestepped the topic, “Has Xavier arrived yet?”

“How should I know.” Antonia made no effort to hide her schadenfreude, “He’s probably dodging fanatics and crazy paparazzi right now. His hotel room was almost under surveillance last night, is the security of the Beverly Hills Hotel starting to fail?”

“You know how popular he is.” Chapman sighed, “Antonia, you should have given him a lift, save this kid from the pitiful pack of wolves. Everyone has their eyes on him.”

“I’m here to record the theme song for your new movie and guide his singing skills. I’m not responsible for security.” Antonia said.

There was a moment of silence on the phone.

Antonia was a person with a sense of propriety, although she was wild in her private life, she never pulled strings to give resources to fresh meat she had slept with.

This was the first time she recommended someone, and it was a stranger she had only met once.

“You piqued my curiosity a bit. But are you sure he’s a professional actor? I auditioned many Asian actors and wasn’t satisfied, I can’t trust a passerby so easily.”

Actually, professionalism wasn’t that important. In a two-hour fantasy adventure film, the Eastern merman’s screen time was only three minutes, with only a few lines. It was a role that only required beauty.

But that was difficult enough. Mermaid-like stunning beauty was rare in the world. Xavier was playing the lead role in this film — a Western mermaid. Xavier was so beautiful, it was hard to find someone who could match him.

“Don’t you know if you take a look? Look at him once, I guarantee you’ll agree with me. You’ve been worrying about the vacancy of this role for a long time.” Antonia was still pushing hard.

Chapman was swayed, “Alright, I’ll consider it, what’s his contact information?”

    Antonia paused for a moment.

Antonia: “Damn, I forgot to get his contact information!”

Chapman hung up the phone directly.

He felt like he was being played with!!

Inside Universal Studios Hollywood, there were crowds of people everywhere. It was world-famous, and tourists flocked here every day.

Shen Fubai, who was touring with Jiang Heng, suddenly sneezed.

“Huh? Did you catch a chill?” Jiang Heng asked concernedly.

“No. I just feel like I missed something.” Shen Fubai muttered to himself, “I missed a billion dollars.”

Jiang Heng responded, “It’s okay, I have a hundred billion.”

Shen Fubai: “…I can’t follow up with that.”
