by MochiThe Obsessive Young Master and His Little Attendant (Part 10)
Ning Shu’s arm, the one that had been stepped on, burned with a sharp, stinging pain. He stood there, his slender frame giving off a faint air of pitiful fragility.
The onlookers watched from a distance. Some of the girls murmured among themselves. “Why are they picking on him like that?” “Seriously.”
There were those who felt it was unfair, yet not a single person dared step forward to actually help.
Ning Shu brushed the dust off his clothes and planned to walk in another direction, but the group of boys wouldn’t let up. They blocked his path again, their expressions dripping with malice.
At that moment, a voice cut through the air.
“A dog? Who were you calling a dog?”
Everyone around them turned to look, Ning Shu included.
Gu Chen walked toward them. The western-style uniform of First High hung perfectly on his tall frame, making him appear all and effortlessly elegant. His looks were exquisite, every feature exuding an air of aloof nobility. No wonder the girls chasing and fawning over him were so fanatical.
Gu Chen’s gaze lowered slightly. When he caught sight of the scrape across Ning Shu’s arm, that pale skin almost too fair to show a single fine hair, something in his eyes turned cold.
He raised an eyebrow. “Who did this?”
The boys were thrown into a panic, clearly not having expected Gu Chen to involve himself in something like this. Every trace of their earlier arrogance evaporated, leaving nothing behind but the alarm in their eyes.
“Young Master Gu, we were just helping you teach him a lesson…”
“That’s right, Young Master Gu. He had no idea how to conduct himself, so we just…”
Gu Chen smiled. “Helping me?”
The next second, his tone remained gentle, yet his eyes were merciless as he looked at the boys.
“If you’re that desperate to please me, how about doing me a favor and dying for me? How does that sound?”
His voice wasn’t cold. On the contrary, it carried a strange, almost tender softness.
And yet it sent a violent shudder through every one of them, draining the color from their faces entirely.
Gu Chen walked past them without another glance, seized Ning Shu’s uninjured hand, and pulled him forward.
Ning Shu hadn’t quite caught up with what was happening. He hadn’t expected Gu Chen to step in for him. He looked up in a daze. “Young Master, class is about to start…”
Gu Chen turned his head, the curve of his smile carrying a chilling undertone. “If you don’t mind letting that wound get infected, I’m happy to take you back right now.”
Ning Shu closed his mouth immediately.
He could tell the young master was in a rather foul mood, so he followed quietly, not daring to speak.
They didn’t stop until they reached the infirmary.
The school nurse tended to Ning Shu’s wound.
Gu Chen stood to the side, his gaze fixed on Ning Shu’s arm, eyes shadowed with a strange, unsettling gloom.
Ning Shu glanced down at his own injury with some puzzlement. It really wasn’t serious. Just a scrape.
But Gu Chen clearly didn’t see it that way. Inside, a wave of fury was already rising.
Ning Shu’s skin was so fair that even the faintest mark on it looked jarring, almost violent.
It felt as if something deeply personal, something he kept only for himself, had been carelessly damaged by someone else. A surge of displeasure and simmering anger rose within him, slowly turning Gu Chen’s expression cold.
On his very first day of school…
Ning Shu had already accumulated 12 points of affection value from Gu Chen. Five points came from when he fell, and two more when he got hurt.
He found it puzzling. Why was it that every time something happened to him, Gu Chen’s favorability would rise?
This person… really is a pervert after all.
Ning Shu let out a small sigh.
“Young Master.”
The old butler had just closed the door when he saw the young master coming toward him and greeted him respectfully.
Gu Chen seemed to recall something and paused.
He looked over.
“Uncle Wang, have you spoken to him yet about moving rooms?”
