Huang Chengbin was left waiting for a while. After finally seeing Wen Chi hang up the phone, the irritation on his forehead disappeared in an instant. He raised a smile and watched Wen Chi sit back on the sofa, eagerly asking, “How’s the consideration going?”

Wen Chi smiled as well, “Sorry, I don’t plan to renew the contract for now.”

“Why?” Huang Chengbin didn’t quite understand. He clearly offered better terms than for other artists in the company. If Wen Chi wasn’t illiterate, he should know how favorable the terms of this contract are.

“I just don’t have that plan.” Wen Chi stood up, “And the contract still has two years until it expires, it seems a bit early to talk about renewal now. I have something else to attend to, so I’ll leave first. Sorry, boss.”

Perhaps because he felt guilty for deceiving Wen Chi, or perhaps because he knew Wen Chi was no longer just an ordinary young artist, Huang Chengbin recalled the business groups he had seen online speaking up for Wen Chi, and suspected Jiang Siheng, who seemed to be with Wen Chi now. Even though he saw Wen Chi stand up and leave, he could only watch with his eyes wide open, not stopping him.

As soon as Wen Chi left, Sangsang and Xiao Cheng quickly followed. Before leaving the office, Sangsang accidentally turned her head and happened to see Huang Chengbin’s face, dark as ink, and couldn’t help but laugh.

They entered the elevator, and at this moment, it was just the three of them. Sangsang couldn’t wait to share what she had just seen with Wen Chi.

Wen Chi gave a light laugh, “If he’s still acting friendly after we leave, I would suspect he’s been possessed.”

Xiao Cheng has just joined Wen Chi, and didn’t know a lot of things that happened before. When Jin Ge found him, he only told him that everything should focus on Wen Chi’s safety, so he was a bit puzzled by how happy Wen Chi and Sangsang seemed right now.

Just as they got into the car, Jin Ge’s message came.

【Jin Ge: Did you leave the company?】

【Wen Chi: Just got into the car】

【Jin Ge: Oh, what did Huang Chengbin want you to do at the company?】

Wen Chi thought about the contract, thought for a moment, and typed a reply:【He wants me to sign an exploitative contract.】

    【Jin Ge: What!!!!!!!】

Wen Chi hadn’t had a chance to explain yet, when Jin Ge’s voice message came through, and it was a barrage of words, “What exploitative contract?! Did he force you to do something?! Damn, I’m taking the high-speed train back right now!”

Jin Ge’s voice was very loud, and the two people sitting in front heard it.

“Wait a minute, wait a minute.” Wen Chi quickly interrupted Jin Ge’s words, “I was just describing it, please listen to me first.”

Jin Ge, who was in another city, had his hands on his hips. “You tell me.”

He clearly showed an attitude that if Wen Chi said anything off, he would immediately rush back to Linquan City.

Wen Chi lazily leaned back, “He really did ask me to go over to renew the contract, I looked at that renewal contract, and the terms and benefits are probably the best in the company…”

    “Did you agree?!”

Jin Ge’s voice was almost splitting from how loud he was speaking.

    Wen Chi: “…”

“No, don’t I know what kind of company Shuhan Media is? Although that contract seems fine on the surface, there might be some traps hidden in every word.” Wen Chi got up a bit early this morning, and now he was a little tired. He yawned and continued, “And the term is ten years.”

    “Ten years?!”

After ten years, Wen Chi would be in his thirties, his prime years would be trapped in Shuhan Media. Jin Ge finally understood why Wen Chi referred to it as an exploitative contract earlier.

Jin Ge nodded, then realized he was on the phone, and Wen Chi couldn’t see. He said again, “As long as you didn’t sign it.”

He had lunch with the brand side, and the cooperation was decided just like that. With nothing else for the afternoon, Wen Chi let Sangsang and Xiao Cheng go wander around by themselves, since they weren’t leaving until tomorrow.

“So, Xiao Chi Ge, do you want to have dinner together tonight?” Sangsang asked.

“No need.” Wen Chi replied to the message, and responded, “I have a dinner appointment tonight.”

“Who are you having dinner with?”

Wen Chi pressed his black phone, then looked up at her, giving a light laugh, “With my boyfriend.”

A look of surprise flashed in Xiao Cheng’s eyes, but due to the confidentiality of his work contract, he didn’t ask any further.

“Ji……” Sangsang paused, suddenly thinking of something, and gave Xiao Cheng a quick glance, then didn’t continue her sentence.

Because Xiao Cheng had only been with them for a few days, and the time spent together wasn’t long, it wasn’t yet the point where everything could be mentioned in front of him.

Xiao Cheng seemed to have noticed, and smiled nonchalantly, “I’ll go bring the car around.”

Sangsang watched Xiao Cheng leave, then turned to look at Wen Chi, and finished what she had left unsaid: “Is Teacher Jiang also in Nanhui City?”

    “Yes, he arrived yesterday.”

Wen Chi’s phone rang a few more times.

Sangsang instinctively looked over, and the screen lit up with a few new WeChat messages.

Wen Chi opened and looked at the messages, and the corner of his mouth involuntarily lifted. Sangsang saw this and, without guessing, knew for sure it was a message from Jiang Siheng.

After Wen Chi replied to the message, he said to Sangsang, “I’ll leave first. Buy anything you want when you’re ready, and I’ll reimburse you when you get back.”

“If I wanted to buy a bag worth tens of thousands, would you reimburse me?”

    “I will.”

Jiang Siheng was already waiting outside, Wen Chi didn’t say anything more, and waved at Sangsang, saying, “I’m leaving.”

Xiao Cheng had just driven the car over. He saw a man wearing a mask and hat walk out and get into a black car.

Xiao Cheng squinted his eyes, and the man wearing a mask seemed to be Wen Chi.

Wen Chi sat in the front passenger seat and buckled his seatbelt. He noticed Xiao Cheng through the right rearview mirror, but didn’t mind.

“Have you been waiting long?” Wen Chi turned his head to look at his boyfriend.

“I just arrived, not long ago.” Jiang Siheng raised his hand and patted Wen Chi’s head, then started the car.

Wen Chi didn’t know where to go, so he simply decided to go along with Jiang Siheng. He asked, “Has your work finished? When are you going back to the set?”

    “It just finished, tonight.”

Wen Chi took out his phone to check the time, “What time is it? If we’re running late, we’ll skip dinner.”

“We still have time, having dinner with my boyfriend is definitely doable,” Jiang Siheng said with a smile.

Wen Chi hummed in acknowledgment, feeling a wave of quiet happiness inside. He saw Jiang Siheng turn a corner, and asked, “So where are we going now? I just had a meal, I’m not hungry yet.”

    Jiang Siheng: “I don’t know.”

Wen Chi was momentarily stunned, and looked at him in disbelief, “So where are you going now?”

“Just drive around, take in some fresh air.”

    Wen Chi: “……”

    Okay.

There are still over three hours until they reach the restaurant. Wen Chi took out his phone to check what’s fun in Nanhui City, when a notification for an app advertisement popped up.

Wen Chi glanced at it for a moment, “Teacher Jiang, how about we go watch a movie?”

Jiang Siheng didn’t say anything, but the steering wheel turned, and he made a U-turn.

“Hm?” Wen Chi didn’t hear an answer, and turned to look at Jiang Siheng, “Teacher Jiang, are we going or not?”

    Jiang Siheng: “Let’s go.”

He found a parking spot in front of a large shopping mall and stopped. Wen Chi put his mask and hat back on, and in his peripheral vision, he saw Jiang Siheng only wearing a hat, with the brim pulled low.

Wen Chi looked at himself in the rearview mirror, pondered for a few seconds, and then thought, well… never mind, let’s just go with it.

Although they said they were going to watch a movie, Wen Chi still hadn’t decided which one to watch. He tugged at Jiang Siheng’s arm, curling up as if nestled in the man’s embrace.

“What should we watch?” Wen Chi asked.

“Anything’s fine, what do you want to watch?” Jiang Siheng threw the question to Wen Chi.

Wen Chi smacked his lips and swiped the screen, “How about this one?”

There aren’t many movies released recently. First, domestic horror films were immediately ruled out, then there were youth drama films, family-themed heartwarming films…

Wen Chi selected a foreign animated movie, this animated movie had been hyped for several months, but it was only released a few days ago.

Jiang Siheng glanced at it, nodded, “Good.”

There were only a few rows left, Wen Chi randomly selected two seats and booked two tickets.

He checked the time. There was still half an hour until the movie started so there’s need to rush.

Today is Sunday, and maybe the location here is good. There are several schools a few kilometers away, and there are many office buildings nearby. Quite a few people come to the mall to shop during holidays.

To be honest, Wen Chi was a little worried that he and Jiang Siheng would be recognized, but by the time they had walked from the first floor to the second, they hadn’t been recognized. Though their tall and striking figures still made them stand out, so they were still very noticeable.

“Didn’t you say you were full at lunch and not hungry?” Jiang Siheng looked at Wen Chi, who had a grilled sausage in his left hand and a matcha cone in his right hand, helplessly.

Wen Chi took a bite of the grilled sausage and mumbled, “But these aren’t main dishes.”

Jiang Siheng glanced at the milk tea in his hand, and found it both frustrating and amusing.

The movie theater is on the sixth floor. Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng took the scenic elevator up. During which more people came in, and the two of them were suddenly squeezed into a corner.

Wen Chi kept moving backwards, watching the space getting narrower, thinking to himself that it was a good thing he finished the sausage and sweet cone earlier.

Jiang Siheng pulled Wen Chi into his arms, wrapping both hands around Wen Chi’s waist, and separated him from the others.

Some people in the scenic elevator noticed the two tall men in the corner, one wearing a hat, the other wearing a mask and hat. The man only wearing a hat was facing them sideways, so their appearance was not very clear.

Wen Chi felt that in just a few floors, the elevator was moving so slowly.

Realizing that occasional glances were thrown their way, he turned his head to look outside, but the next second, he was pulled back by Jiang Siheng.

A low intake of breath immediately sounded in his ear.

Although he didn’t know the reason behind the others’ sharp intake of breath, Wen Chi couldn’t shake the feeling that it was because of him and Jiang Siheng.

Wen Chi looked at the man, confused, his eyes asking: What are you doing?

Jiang Siheng didn’t say anything, his hand still wrapped around Wen Chi’s waist.

The elevator doors opened and closed as people came in and out. When they reached the sixth floor, with a ding, everyone walked out.

Jiang Siheng told Wen Chi to wait, and went to line up to buy tickets himself.

Wen Chi looked left and right, and noticed that there were still quite a few people coming to watch the movie in the afternoon.

Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng’s seats were in the third-to-last row. The rows behind them were nearly empty, but the seats in front were packed.

However, this was actually convenient for them. They didn’t have to worry about being recognized.

Wen Chi still hadn’t finished his milk tea, and the ice inside had nearly melted.

He couldn’t finish it, so he simply placed it in the drink holder on Jiang Siheng’s side, and quietly said, “Teacher Jiang, can you help me finish it?”

Jiang Siheng glanced at the milk tea, which still had at least half a cup left. When the cashier asked if he wanted a large or medium size, Wen Chi quickly and seriously said large, but now he couldn’t even finish it himself.

Jiang Siheng picked up the milk tea and took a few sips. The taste of the milk tea was a bit too sweet for him, and the little toppings inside were also somewhat sweet.

“Is it good?” Wen Chi tilted his head and looked at him.

    “It’s good.”

Wen Chi stared at Jiang Siheng’s expressionless face as he said the words “It’s good,” and couldn’t help but smile.

The two of them spoke quietly, but everyone who entered the cinema was quiet. So even though their voices weren’t loud, in the quiet environment, the volume still seemed amplified.

The girl sitting in front of Wen Chi heard the voices from the back row. Both voices were particularly pleasant, one was deep and magnetic, the other was clear and clean.

The girl turned her head to take a look, and based on the two different tones, she easily discerned which voice belonged to whom.

The clear, clean, more youthful-sounding voice must belong to the guy wearing the hat and mask, and the slightly more mature, deep, and magnetic voice belongs to the man wearing the hat.

Wen Chi slightly lowered his head, and unexpectedly met the gaze of the girl in the front row.

Both of them froze for a moment.

Wen Chi was the first to react, and smiled at the girl.

The girl also reacted, and, somewhat embarrassed, pressed her lips together, then shyly smiled.

Even though the guy was wearing a mask and a hat, making his appearance unclear, she felt that he must be good-looking.

The girl shifted her gaze again, and looked at the man wearing only a hat, the lower half of the man’s face made her feel like he looked somewhat familiar.

The girl tapped her friend’s shoulder and quietly said, “Xiaoyin, look at the man sitting behind you. I feel like he looks so familiar.”

“What?” The friend secretly glanced back, and when she saw the man’s appearance, her eyes slightly widened, “…Holy crap?”

“What’s wrong?” The girl, confused, quickly asked.

“That’s Jiang Siheng!!!” The friend struggled to keep her voice down, her expression filled with indescribable excitement. After a few seconds, she seemed to remember something, and quickly looked at the man next to Jiang Siheng.

Jiang Siheng slightly turned his head to listen to the man speak. The man seemed to have said something, and there was a faint smile in Jiang Siheng’s eyes.

The friend couldn’t see clearly, and she didn’t dare to confirm, but she felt that the man seemed to be… Wen Chi?

The lights in the cinema went out, and the large screen lit up. Without the lights, she couldn’t see any clearer, so she had to give up.

Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng weren’t unaware of the movements of the girl and her friend, but they both chose to ignore it.

To be honest, when the girl’s friend was sizing him up earlier, Wen Chi was a bit nervous, but then he saw Jiang Siheng’s calm expression, and he calmed down himself.

To be honest, if they were recognized, Jiang Siheng would definitely be the first one to be recognized.

In the following time, Wen Chi was fully immersed in the movie, whereas Jiang Siheng wasn’t interested in the animation. He held one of Wen Chi’s hands and played with it. Wen Chi discussed the movie’s content with him, while Jiang Siheng just casually glanced at the screen a few times.

After the movie ended, there was a post-credit scene, and many viewers chose to stay and watch it before leaving. However, Wen Chi finished the main feature and pulled Jiang Siheng out early. The two walking ahead didn’t notice that the girl and her friend also left.

“Wait a minute, wait a minute!” The two girls jogged to catch up with the two tall, long-legged men.

Wen Chi instinctively stopped in his tracks, and turned around to look, his expression filled with confusion.

Are they calling for them to wait?

The girl’s friend stopped in front of them, and glanced at the hands of the two of them, clasped together. She swallowed nervously, and cautiously asked, “Excuse me… are you Wen Chi and Jiang Siheng?”

“…” Wen Chi glanced at Jiang Siheng.

“Well, if you don’t want to say, that’s fine.”

Although they didn’t get a response, they didn’t deny it either.

The girl’s friend gestured between herself and the girl, “We’ve watched Heart’s Confession 2, w–we’re HengWen CP fans, we really like you both. You don’t have to worry about us telling anyone, it’s just… we just want to confirm if it’s really you, and we’d like to meet you… meet you both.”

Wen Chi pressed his lips together, and turned his head to look at Jiang Siheng, as if asking for the man’s opinion.

Jiang Siheng raised his hand and patted Wen Chi’s head, then let it drop and held his hand again, and softly said, “Do whatever you want to do.”

The two girls looked at them with hopeful and eager expressions.

Wen Chi let out a small breath, raised his other hand and took off his mask, revealing a delicate and handsome face.

He looked at the two girls and gave them a gentle smile, “Good afternoon, I’m Wen Chi.”
